INTY: 4 types of movement to focus on in your 40s
This summer we are rereleasing a few meaningful episodes. If you've missed them before, it's new to you! (Just like those cheesy sitcoms in the 90's that were rereleased in the summer.)
In today's episode, I start to get granular with regard to our fitness. I've promised applicable content so I hope you'll be able to take some of the conversation and use it in your day-to-day life.
We discuss 4 ways to set your body up for success now and in the future:
- Balance - You can add these in while brushing your teeth or talking on the phone
- Strength training - Prevent sarcopenia, or age related muscles mass loss (you lose 10% of muscle per decade after your mid-30s. Yikes!)
- Mini Muscles - Incorporate into your warm-up!
- Recovery - Foam roll, yoga (video links below), stretch, and SLEEP! (My favorite!)
