I am embarrassed to admit when I hear “gynecological cancer” I can barely say it correctly, much less give much thought to it. And I always thought I had of that area "down there" covered when I went to my annual exam. I was mistaken and wrong. Today I’m speaking with Jenna Unke, a physician’s assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center to learn about the types and risk factors of gynecological cancer (I was surprised at some of them) and signs to look for when something’s not right.

We discuss

  • Why your annual exam and pap smear don’t give you the whole story
  • The main types of gynecological cancer
  • Signs that something isn’t right
  • Risk factors of gyn cancer
  • How health impacts treatment and recovery
  • What promotes healing physically and emotionally
