386 - Podcast Tools We Love: AI and Beyond
Every podcaster’s got their go-to gear, but which tools actually make a difference? Today, we put our favorites on the table, one powered by AI and one that’s not considered AI or perhaps falls in a gray area. We discuss tools ranging from ChatGPT to Audacity and a few surprises in between, and the crew debates what’s worth keeping in your toolkit. We also talk about community platforms like Kajabi and Go High Level, and ask the big question: are any tools non-AI anymore? The week wraps with wins that prove progress isn’t about having every gadget, it’s about how you use what you’ve got.

0:04 Good morning podcasting morning chat. Today is Friday, October 10th, 2025, and today we're kicking things off with a rapid fire round table on podcasting tools, one AI and one non AI pick from each of us before diving into Friday wins and wrapping the week strong. So if you're listening live on Clubhouse, hit the share button, bottom left hand side of the screen and share it. However, Clubhouse lets you. And if you're catching us via podcast or YouTube, please share this episode with a fellow podcaster. And now give us about 30 seconds and we'll get things rolling. Thanks for being here.
1:20 Good morning again podcasting. Morning Chad. Thanks so much for being here. I am your host Mark Ronic and currently on stage with me my Co host. We have Dr. Fay, producer Ashley Feller and Sid Meadows and I know we should hear from more of our cast and crew momentarily. Hello DRI, saw you come off mic. Did you want to say something, Dr. You're. Going to say Davis waving his Canadian flag today. Yes, Dave in the audience was waving his Canadian flag and I'm curious as to why. Canadian Canadian Thanksgiving. Oh, it's Canadian Thanksgiving today. Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating. Thank you for the reminder, Dave. Appreciate that.
2:01 Is Dave in Canada? Is Dave in Canada? I thought he was across the pond, as they say. Dave, will you tell us in the chat? Go ahead, DRI. Don't know where he is but I I wanted to know if they celebrate it with the same kinds of foods that we celebrate it with. See now Dave doesn't come up and join us on stage. He's a very loyal. He's in Niagara. Fall. He is. So he's like right on the right on the border, is it? Which side Dave, are you on? I'm guessing East Coast side or east side I should say. Yeah, I would love to know if there were. Canada side. The Canada side, OK, there you go. I would.
2:42 Yeah, I would love to know and too bad we don't have feel better here or one of our Canadian Co hosts because yeah, I would like to know. Do they eat the traditional stuff? Well, our traditional stuff that we have on Thanksgiving. Yeah, like I know we are here. I almost debated today to have a discussion about what we do every once a year. We talk about what do we do for the holidays with our podcasts. I wanted to, I was thinking about doing that today, but I feel like it's still a little early. Or maybe I'm just refusing to admit that we're in that season already. I got up this morning to put out the trash and it was 42° here in North Carolina. So we're, we're here.
3:28 It's time the the fall season is here and I'm just noticing now being in the mountains, I guess the higher elevation. I'm just starting to see the leaves change on the trees. So I'm really excited. I think we're about to head into peak season for my neck of the woods in western North Carolina. And I say welcome my friend. It's been a long time since I've seen, you know, a leaf fall to the ground. I love fall. My birthday is in the summertime but damn I just I've the older I get the more I really hate summer. I just, I'm not a fan of it, alright. I I know it's Friday, so we were a little loosey goosey today and I want to keep it going 'cause I want to ask Dr. when is your birthday?
4:12 Because if it was the summer, did we not celebrate it? Did we not acknowledge it 'cause I don't know when it is? No, I don't talk about it, but you found out about it because of Facebook. And then you said, Oh my God, you had one of those V8 moments, but it was it's July 6th. July 6th, OK. Yeah, gotcha. So about a fun before mine. Thank you, Dr. Like I said, it's Friday, so we're a little loosey goosey today. And welcome to Alex Baelish and Nick Nolback. Glad you're here and thanks to those of you joining in the audience as well. Awesome to have you here, Billy. Good to see you. And really specifically what I'm referring to is good to see you creating lots of content, doing more of the lives again. I feel like, you know, you were a little quiet there between your move and all the changes going on. I don't know, just my perception and I could be completely off. And really good to see you doing some lives again. I watched some of a live you did yesterday. OK, so with that.
5:12 And that's Billy Thorpe, by the way, if you're listening at home and not here live on Clubhouse in case you want to go check out what Billy is up to. So today we're going to dig into our favorite tools. We've, we do this every so often and I think it's good every once in awhile to refresh and share our different tools that we're using and enjoying. And I think the way I want to do it is maybe we'll just kind of do a, a rapid fire before we get into our wins from the week. Well, I'd love for everybody to share one AI powered tool, something maybe like a ChatGPT, a well to script. I guess we could call it that way.
5:52 There's going to be some that are kind of Gray area because they're both AI and non AI tools all in one. It's not called the script. That's just yes, yes, for Alex will not be sharing descript as any of his favorite tools. I, I and I know there are others that feel sometimes the same way and then there are others in another camp that absolutely love it. And I know Ashley is one of those people. At least I know she uses it regularly. I don't know if she loves it or not. Well, maybe find out. So here we go. Let's start. I'm gonna, since we were just talking to Dr. And I know Ashley is out camping in the wilderness right now with sleeping people all around her apparently snoring.
6:34 So she'll have to share in the chat. So let's go to Sid first. Sid, if you don't mind, would you share with us an AI powered tool that you're really enjoying right now and one non AI tool that you're enjoying and preferably all around or something to do with your podcast. Good. Morning, everybody. Morning for somebody that is predominantly just the talent in a podcast and the host I struggle with this question a little bit because I mean I do use ChatGPT on a regular basis my favorite brainstorming partner I use Otter, you know, but that records my meetings and stuff but I'm probably on the very basic side of this I'm probably not using some really cool new tool that everybody is you know and the same thing goes with the you know equipment and stuff like because I just have a really good mic and a computer so I'm probably not the best person to share well, I'll I'll.
7:33 Dig in a little bit, then you say that ChatGPT is your favorite brainstorming partner. So when it comes to your podcast, give me an idea you're sitting down to and you're you just fired up ChatGPT to help you brainstorm with your podcast. What are you doing? What are you typing to get started? Most recent thing I did I mean I, I asked it I upload the transcript and asked it to write an e-mail and then I asked it to review A blog and I asked it to write a LinkedIn post and you know those kinds of very basic things. But recently I uploaded all my previous sponsorship information and asked it to talk with ask me questions about sponsorship.
8:16 What am I looking for? The types of sponsorships I'm looking for. And between that little down a 1520 minute session, I was able to really outline what I want my sponsorship to look like in 2026. And then from there I took it another level and outline what I want a community to look like. Let's don't call it a Patreon community because it won't be, but what I wanted the community to look like and the types of things we've batted back and forth about, the types of things I'd like to see as value for that community membership. And so it was actually a lot of fun. I enjoy going back and forth. I really like it when asked me when it asks me questions and I typically tell it to ask me questions like please ask me questions up to 10 questions, one at a time so that I can answer it and then we can continue to go for it.
9:03 I really like that component of it because it gives me the opportunity to think about things. And then and then. Respond. Sid, I ask that too, but I ask it in a different way. I say if you have any clarifying questions, please ask me one at a time. And then someone says that I should put something like, if you have any clarifying questions, ask one at a time and keep asking until you're 95% sure clear on what my goal is or something like that. OK, that makes sense. And I appreciate that both of you are sharing the that little tid tidbit there one at a time. That that one for me is, is a big one because I get sometimes, you know, it asks me 10 questions all at once and it feels overwhelming, right? Like, I mean, obviously you can choose just to answer one of the questions or I did.
9:58 It's not like you're being berated by questions and it's demanding that you answer them all. But at the same time, it still feels like a lot and it and it makes my mind go in a million different directions. So I often stress just give me one question at a time. That helps a lot. And and it helps me just focus on that first answer and then move on to the next. There's one other thing. Oh, go ahead, Go ahead, DRI. Was going to say, and also another pro tip is set up a hotkey to to do that question like, you know, windows question mark to do that question for you so you don't have to keep typing it out all the time. What do you mean to set up a hotkey? How do you how would you set that up specifically? I'm giving you advice that I'm going to be doing today. So you'll have to get back to us. You don't have to get back to you, but I know that there's a way both in Windows and in.
10:51 You know that whole Mackey thing you guys do? Yeah, But maybe Nick, just put something in the chat here, text expander, do you want to explain that? Oh, Nick, there he is. Good morning. So there are different, they're called text expander tools and you can essentially program a hot key and then have text that you apply to that. So you can like quote Dr. saying like windows question mark. You can say whenever I click Windows question mark on my keyboard, drop in this text. It's pretty slick. I was using that for Windows has another similar thing where you can like copy and paste. It's not like a command C, command V or control.
11:35 So control V it's not an extra. Key in there. And it will take the copied text and send it to ChatGPT and then pasting chat to to your spot. So it's like a similar kind of function we got that you could program like if you were doing e-mail outreach to guests or follow up to guests or whatever, you could pre program all of your emails as hotkeys. And then when you go to type the e-mail, you just press that hot key and like, boom, your email's working for you. E-mail one. e-mail two. Yeah. By the way, I think we have a record for Nick's response being all clear from start to finish, not switching away from his headset to his phone. That's a first.
12:18 I don't know, Nick, did you get new heads, a new headset, or we were just lucky this time? Yep, Yep, we are. We are. Oh, there it goes where it is where it is. OK. That's hilarious. OK, the Patreon, I couldn't understand them. I couldn't understand them. It was so clear, right? The go the go Fund me is still on the fake Go Fund me for Nick to get new headset that works on Clubhouse 'cause I don't know, maybe it's just specific. It's a weird glitch with Clubhouse. I don't know. But yeah, there we are. And Sid, I have one more follow up question for you, Sir. You said when you were using ChatGPT to brainstorm. What a community looks like for you specifically?
12:58 And you said not a Patreon community so I was curious if you could explain. Are you thinking about making it a paid community but not use Patreon? Or are you thinking Patreon just you? You don't want to have a paid community at all I guess is what I'm getting at. You know, it's a good question. So I've mapped out a strategy for monetization of my podcast in 2026 that will hopefully get me to what my goal is because I have an established goal and I have 3 tiers of monetization for companies, top tier, a middle tier and a low tier, which I already have a sponsor for the low tier in the middle tier already. And having really only talked about it a couple of times. And then I thought because I have a relatively engaged community and I've never really done anything to bring them together.
13:45 And so I talked about like I wanted to talk about what is a community look like? What would be part of that community? What's the value I'm going to give them for the money that they're going to give me? And so we brainstormed about that. I just am not going to do it on Patreon. I'm going to do it in Kajabi through the Kajabi, you know, payment fee system. I'm not going to go to, I'm probably will host it on Zoom. I don't think I'm going to actually, I don't know, still working through some of the little tweaks like I may go to circle and do it or something like that, but I'm not sure just yet. I've sent my idea to a couple of my raving fans, people that I know that listen to every episode, and I've gotten some really good feedback from them. One of them was, which I really, really appreciate. And I told him this is I can't consume any more content, like don't get any more content because I thought that I would do like a bonus episode just for the, for the community kind of thing.
14:39 And I really appreciated. I don't have time to consume more content because I don't necessarily have time to create more content. But for a paid community, I'm willing to do what's necessary to ensure they get the value out of giving me however much money I decide that they're going to give me. OK. Thank you, Sid. And your answer has sparked some some shares here as far as community building apps, Dave Campbell in the audience as he uses Meet up. And Nick, do you want to share a little bit? Because I keep hearing, particularly over the past month or so, not that I've never heard of school before SKOOL, but for whatever reason over the past month or so, I keep hearing people talking about it. So I don't know if they're just doing a good. You're like me, but if you're like me, Mark, you're getting targeted by them because I can't open up Facebook without seeing an ad from those guys, or Instagram for that matter. Yeah.
15:36 See, I think you're probably seeing that because you're doing the research and the algorithms are finding you because I'm not seeing anything really on school. I probably will now that I'm talking about it, but Nick, do you want to share a little bit about it or anybody, Alex, you know about? I subscribe to two groups that are School 1 and it's like every other platform you can, there's a forum section, there's a section where you can put videos. This is for lacrosse. So there's the whole outline of training guides that you can use. And then he does also a zoom that he puts up on the offseason that he'll put up.
16:18 And there's a discussion thing with that. And there's like a point system that you can be a part of if that's something that you're interested in, like for as a as a host of it. So if you accomplish certain things, you get more points. But I think it's a it's an interesting platform. I mean, a lot of people use it and you should check it out. Awesome. OK, there's and then Dr. says she thinks it's an Alex Hermozi product. I'll go and look and verify that. Billy, did you want to add something? Yeah, I'll, I'll trip in real quick. And I'm always the guy that throws the blank, the water on the fire here because school is a Hormuzi product. And yes, to Sid's point, they just hammer the ads, but it's also a Go High Level product.
17:04 And so if you're looking at school, you should go look at Go High Level because you get way more stuff for the same price. And that's where I have. So basically go high level is like a ton of products they've put under one roof. So they've taken like 18 or 20 different things, mini chat, e-mail, you Zoom, I mean all these things and they've put under one category or under 1, blank you under 1, whatever you get. What I'm saying one program and then and customize it how my whole business runs off of this. Well, then once you get it set up, you can then white label, sell that to other people. And that's what we're Mosey's doing is it's go high level white labeling it, selling it to a bunch of people and getting transaction fees off of people for your membership group. I mean, it's a good business model, but go look at go high level and I use an agency of high level as well because the guy could be built all the stuff and I run my community out of there and it's amazing.
18:08 And sometimes with the agencies not school, you get a little little more like I just get the ability to go live inside of my group and then also have like meetups inside of my group as well. So yeah, just go look at a bunch of products before you jump to crazy on school. They do great marketing, but it's not all it's cracked up to be. So this is a simple version of this school is like a white label of high level is that. Yes, a very, a very limited white label of Go high levels. So it's basically community feature of Go high level. That's all of it. And feature of a huge program.
18:49 Yeah, it's very limited. I had a tour of Go High Level because several people had mentioned it before and I had a marketing person because we're looking at it for our new business and they do website hosting, e-mail marketing community. I mean, the only thing you can't do is at least the way I understood that you can't go live in the group and the recording, like say if we had our membership, meaning we can't do it in the group, in the recording, stay in the group. We can upload the recording to the group, but we still have to do the recording somewhere else or the meeting somewhere else. But it's an all in platform. It's $95 a month. DRS that in the chat. It's really cool, but it was interesting. My marketing person was like, this looks very familiar to one of my other clients. And so she reached out to the guy that helps her other client and it's exactly what Billy said. What this guy did was go in to go high level and pick four or five different components of it and then white labeled it and he's selling it to his clients.
19:46 So it's interesting that they built this all in and they sell directly, but they also white label to other people to sell. So it's really interesting business model for sure. Very cool. All right, see, This is why we do these discussions here. We repeat these tools discussions because we always end up finding something different to talk about. Billy, did you want to keep going? I was just going to say we go high level. I'm not sure when you did that demo Sid, but I just logged into my account and now I can go live in my group host meetings and they just post in the group as a post so I don't have to do outside zoom calls anymore. Do we know what this costs to do if Billy to?
20:27 $95.95 dollars a month. They have a higher level platform too, like it's 200 and something, but it gives you more stuff. But it's $95 a month and give you pretty much everything that you need to run your podcast, run your community, run your business. Yep, I see it right here. Thank you Sid, appreciate that. Yeah, there's the starter pack is $97.00 a month unlimited pack. These are just the names they call it 297 and then the pro pack 497. So just depends on really all of your different needs. But it sounds like a lot of us could easily get away with the starter pack at least to to get things rolling if we wanted to use something like this. Thank you Sid.
21:07 See that we just had what, 10 minute discussion on Sid and his shares, even though he said he's probably not the best person to start with. So there it is. Let's keep it moving. I will go to Dr. 'cause I know when I told Dr. about this morning's topic, when we discussed it, she said I have several things I could share. So let's do it. Dr. What are what's an AI tool that you're using right now that you love? I've talked about this before and it's we sound dot FMI use it as my first pass editing. But here's the problem. I think that you know, we are the users of this are pretty much counting down as to when they're going to close the doors on this because I really feel like the platform developers have abandoned this. I don't know why.
22:04 I've written them several times. Whenever there's something that something goes wrong, I contact them and I always put a little by the way, is this still alive? Are you still planning to do that? Because the road map, you know, there's stuff on there from a year and a half ago that has not even been looked at. So I never get an answer to that. They always fix my issue, but I never get an answer to what I put in. But I love that platform and I'm going to cry like crazy when it actually does die. Matt Bliss in the chat said the last update on Resound was May 16th, 2024.
22:44 Been a while. It's been a while. Yeah. And it's Matthew. Do you use it? I didn't know that you used it. Or is that just something that you're looking at just now for me? I have the nasty habit of being the Internet search guy and just pumping the chat with anything anybody says at any time. So no, I love that. You're a nasty, nasty thing. I love that. I like having somebody doing that for us 'cause I, you know, somebody's thinking about it and maybe driving right now and can't look it up. So there you go. Thank you, Matt. I appreciate you doing that. But it cuts down my time so, so much. It is amazing. It's an amazing tool. And we're just counting the time.
23:26 I have even suggested, well, maybe you should do like a monthly, you know, a monthly newsletter just to let just to let us know that you're alive. You know, that's, that would be fine. But again, that has gone unanswered as well. My non non AI tool I guess would have to be Audacity for now because Audacity is going under a huge huge change, huge update probably first quarter of next year I'm guessing. And they put out a video almost an hour long, and it looks very much like Hindenburg, if people are familiar with Hindenburg. And I was on the beta test team for this. So I love my Audacity and people who want to, you know, send me shade because of it.
24:22 I think they are thinking, my first question to them is how long has it been since you first went into Audacity? Usually the answer is, oh, gosh, I haven't been there for a couple years. Well, stupid head, come on, you get with the time. What? Was that stupid head? Stupid head, poopy pants, Poopy pants, stupid head. Get with the times. I realized that I I didn't want to be censored, so edit it out. Certainly it was pretty bad in the beginning, but it was acquired by another company a while back and once they got it, they started doing updates right and left almost every month.
25:05 It was amazing. So now it is. It's kind of your best, I must say. I really like it and that's what I got to say. There you go. I still use, I've said it before, I still use Audacity as well. When I need to do some quick audio editing, I go right to Audacity. That's the first one. Even though I have Adobe tools for whatever reason. Maybe it's because I'm used to using it from all the years of using it. But yes, and I agree with you, it is changing dramatically. I'm almost not wanting them to update it to this new Hindenburg looking kind of thing because I'm so comfortable with it. But you know that's going out of your comfort zone and that's a whole other subject.
25:50 That's right. That's a whole other episode we can dive into one day. Yeah. Thank you, Dr. Appreciate that. And I'm going to go to Jeff Dwoskin, who is on stage and has been waiting patiently. Thank you for being here. Jeff, did you want to share an AI power tool and a non AI power tool that you're loving these days? I discovered Claude yesterday. Really. Did you really? Yeah, yeah. I mean, I had heard of it. What I mean is I started using it for the first time yesterday. It's it's pretty good, pretty intense. What do you like about it? I know you haven't used it that much yet, but is there something about it that's drawing you to it? Because I assume ChatGPT is the one that you've been using. Yes, ChatGPT is the one that I use to generate the images that is driving my world class T public store. But Claude, I start playing with it because it's really good at code.
26:44 And so I've been playing around with kind of seeing what kind of applications or things that I can do with some of the data sources that I have to kind of, you know, visualize it a little better and make it a little cooler and and dive a little deeper. You know, there's companies out there using claw to rewrite their entire I mean, there was stories about it rebuilding slack just for the hell of it, but it's pretty cool. I and and for DI, I'm a huge audacity fan, love it. I don't know why anyone wouldn't like it. Sorry. I'm walking so it's. Pretty awesome for a free tool. I mean, it's got everything you really need for audio editing in my opinion is, you know, I know that there are more power tools out there, but I think for the average podcaster who's doing an audio podcast, it's a no brainer.
27:35 I appreciate being called the average, but the I I appreciate that, but I just think it's a pretty freaking powerful tool for maybe because it was the first thing I used, you know, so it was just, you know, they, I love that they do say. That you, they do say that you kind of gravitate towards the tool that you were taught on. And that's I guess that's true for me. Yep, me too. I used to tube TA lot for my podcast. I I use Otter to transcribe and I pop that up into a custom GPT. Then I made that kind of will turn that into my show notes and social posts and everything like that.
28:15 I still love ChatGPT as well. And then you got me hooked on Sora. So I've been making stupid videos. Marks marks things on Sora that he's doing is amazing. Thank you. And Jeff's are really funny too. By the way, you haven't followed Jeff Dwoskin to see some of his. Yeah. Yes, perhaps you haven't heard of my account that has 15 likes. Congrats. I'm burning, I'm burning it up on Sora. Not. Just made me hip to that that I should be liking and commenting on his and so I've been. Yeah. So Dr. often times she will private, you know, DM me and she'll say, hey, that video you did of X, that was really good.
28:59 And I and I say to her, Dr. please just go say that over on the post that I put up because that's going to help it, you know, with the algorithm. So she's been doing that more. I appreciate that, Dr. Yeah. Lots. More right, It's like when you're at a restaurant and someone walks up to you and go, oh, I've been listening to your podcast or oh, I love what you're posting on social. It's like thanks for the random interaction that you know you could. Yeah, it's nice to get the compliment face to face, but you're hoping that they're also actually responding to the post itself. Yeah, I get it. The contrary in here for just a second the other day Mark, I wanted to text you and tell you to step away from the Sora for a minute because you had done like 3 or 4 videos in a row and I'm like Mark, step away from the Sora AI Sora Mark is not up to real life Mark just yet at.
29:50 Least. Jake Paul, I guess, has been the one that everyone was doing that. I haven't jumped into the cameo thing yet. Let me explain that. So one of the features Sora it in the app itself. It has its own app. You have this thing called Cameo and that it's where you can share your likeness. We talked about it a little bit before you share your likeness and your voice and then you can put yourself in whatever scene you want to generate and if you choose, if you elect to, you can make it public for anybody to play with. And yes, you can actually control that if you don't like what somebody does with your image, you can actually pull it right so that you do have control and it all lives within the Surah app.
30:38 The and then that's the other cool thing about it is Jeff is referring to, he's not sure how he feels about AI Mark yet because I've shared some, some videos within the Surah app of me slam dunking a basketball in the Chicago Bulls #23 uniform, things like that. And that's what Jeff is referring to. I have not posted those. And yes, Sid, I know I was getting a little happy with it. And I feel like, you know, when you see these AI trends, if you want to get more eyeballs on it, you got to pump them out while it's a hot trend. So that's why that was why I was kind of doing that and because I was just having a lot of fun.
31:18 I'm going to bring it back to you for a second, Sid, since we're talking about tools and then we're going to, we're going to have to wrap it up. So if people want to share other tools, just flash your mic or something real quick so I can try to get to you. But Sid, you recently asked me about if I knew about any teleprompter apps and I shared one with you. I think it was called prompter but I'm curious, have you used it yet and and or what are you using? Thank you for sharing that app with me. I did go download it and I had a video that I'd done on Instagram and I thought that's a really great video. I need to repurpose it and put it on LinkedIn. And so I wanted to, I got the script and I wanted a teleprompter.
32:04 I was way over thinking this. I got the teleprompter app and but because I had the free version, it would only do so many characters and I couldn't upload the full script unless I upgraded. It wouldn't even let me save the script until I cut it down below the minimum characters. So I just deleted the app and I then I went and printed out the script and a piece of paper and taped it on to my to my my tripod. And then I looked at myself like, what the hell are you doing? It's not like this is really hard, dude. So I just made it again without the script, but I was way overthinking it. But I, it would seem like a really great tool, but I was not in a place that I use a teleprompter on a regular basis. So I was not going to pay for it because I don't need it. I got enough of that pay $20.00 a month for this and that and whatever.
33:01 I feel like Dr. and Zapier every time I get somebody to pay to pay me $20.00 a month kind of thing. Yeah, yeah. OK, that's fair. And I'm now I have to go check to make sure I'm not paying for that app because I don't feel like I have those limitations. And I don't feel like I'm paying for it though, because I do go and check all my subscriptions from time to time to make sure. But maybe I missed it. I'm going to have to go back and look. And also just a quick side note, Speaking of teleprompters, if you haven't heard yet, Elgato, a lot of us are at least aware of, and some of us have an Elgato teleprompter. It's an actual hardware piece of hardware. It's not software and it's really great for the content creator.
33:43 The average, sorry Jeff, the average content creator. It's a great little tool, but they just came out with Prompter XL, which is a a 16 inch monitor. So it's almost double the size I think of the the current one that they have. I think it's really cool. It has a couple of cool features that maybe the regular one doesn't, but overall, I'm not sure I'm ready to dish out $600.00 for it. I think I'm just fine with the one that I have for now because that is a hefty price. I may wait. I know Elgato usually gets involved in the the Black Thursday holiday sales and so maybe I'll wait and just see if that's going on.
34:28 OK, so just a heads up on that. And Matt, did you want to say something on this topic? No, I was, I was flashing myself for sharing a tool. OK, go for it. On the AI front, it's got to be just continually working in ChatGPT for me, but more for my clients and figuring out how to make prompting more efficient and finding more efficient ways to get the content I want from it, at least as a starting point for the content that I create for them. To the point now with one of my clients, it's now fed into the entire efficiency of how they do the podcast, which is great. The non AI tool that I value the most and have for the last few years. To the point where when I got back to Australia so that I can get them cheap enough, I bought like several of these to bring back with me to Ireland.
35:20 It's a custom macro pad like a mini keyboard that I bought from Aliexpress. The reason I bought them from there is because I bought 1 initially and it was great and it was like 20 Australian dollars, which was awesome, but the programming was broken and I didn't, I'd forgotten that in Ireland and the UK and generally around this side of Europe, there's customs charges for anything that comes from anything kind of suspect in the areas of China and Japan and that kind of area. And Aliexpress is one of those things. So I bought like 6 boards and I used them to map custom shortcuts to Davinci Resolve, Adobe Audition, and any other application that requires me to work really quickly. If and if you're using keyboard shortcuts that involve more than two fingers at a time, then I suggest getting a macro pad like one of these.
36:16 And just as a sub recommendation for anyone looking for AI tools for audio editing, but as a starting point, the company Sonable recently released a learning bundle, which is a set of very basic tools that don't go into a huge amount of depth, but they are AI driven. And I think it's only €50, which for you Americans at the moment might be about 70 U.S. dollars, something like that. But it includes a compressor, an EQ, a limiter, A reverb, and an unmask, which I'm not entirely sure does. Maybe it's a denoise, spectral denoise. But for anyone who's looking at Isotope and going $600.00 and I have to spend hours learning this thing, then this Sonowball pack might be a good way to go.
37:07 Yes, it is lifetime. They are. They are very basic. You'll look at it and see it. It's like 3 dials to try and dial it in. But the idea is that it's a learning set of tools, so you practice with it. It probably won't be where you end up if you want to continue to improve the quality of your audio, but it will train your ears to hear the things that work or don't work. And if it helps, I spent €150 on a three or four plug in pack. I think it was the smart pack or something. I haven't looked back. I essentially use Isotope now for mouth D click and occasionally spectral denoise and that's it.
37:49 So that's an indicator hot. Get it? Yeah. Thank you, Matt. That's awesome. Like love learning about something new. I had no idea about sound bowl and I'm gonna take a look into that. And by the way, Speaking of Matt, we talked about it briefly yesterday and just want to remind people to go check out Matt's latest episode of Rethinking Podcasting Episode 14. Matt shares why too much podcasting research can actually hurt your show. He talks about how chasing growth hacks can bury your unique voice, why it took him so long to make Rethinking Podcasting, and how communities like ours. Specifically, he mentions and talks a little bit about the Podcasting morning chat, helping creators focus on real perspectives instead of just tactics.
38:38 So that one's called on the harmful obsession of podcasting as a discipline. So check that out at rethinkingpodcasting.com. Tom. And also another reminder real quick that at 8:00 AM today live, if you're so this is mainly for our live audience right now. If you want to join me at 8:00 AM Eastern, I'm hopping over to Chatter and joining the room called the Morning Chatter and I'm doing an hour there every Friday at least for the next few weeks. I'm testing this because I don't know if I have the mental capacity to take it on, but I want to give it a try because I really want to be a bigger part of the community over there.
39:19 So you can join me. I've put, I've shared a link here live. Come join me there. And if you want more information on Chatter, we'll put a link to chatter social and you can check out what they're doing there. It's like a clubhouse on steroids is what as how I describe it. With that, by the way, just wanted to shout out that Nick had put in the chat. Are there any non AI tools anymore? And I mean, I kind of alluded to that at the beginning when we started this conversation that most tools these days have some kind of AI built into it anyway, at least the software tools and now a lot of hardware tools as well. And thank you to Jinnade, who pointed out Ecam Live and Streamdeck are a couple of those tools that are popular for content creators and aren't really AI.
40:04 Tools, so go check those out as well. Great conversation around tools. Let's dig into our wins from the week. If you are in the audience right now, come on up. Come share your wins from this week. Chris Baglio. That means you can come up and share that your Giants kicked the Eagles butts last night. Thank you, Giants. I'm a big fan of football, and the NFC East is my team, the Washington Commander. So I love seeing the Eagles lose out of all that, The teams in that in that division love seeing the Eagles lose. And Giants are probably my second team if I'm going to cheer for an NFC East team. So congratulations, Chris. Sorry to derail us.
40:46 Well, thank you very much. I'm very happy. Anytime we could beat a division rival, I forgot what winning felt like. So. This is nice. They looked like a great team. And I have Scataboo on my fantasy team. He delivered for me yesterday. All right. Oh, and Alex, I know you're a Giants fan too. I saw you just flash your mic. Yes. So congratulations to you too, Alex. All right, let's share some wins from our week. Let's start with some of our guests on stage, starting with Janae, who I just mentioned a moment ago. Janae, good morning. Please share a win or two from your week. Good morning. Good morning. Got to meet a good friend of mine yesterday. They. Traveled all over. From all the way from Pakistan. We've been working together for the past six years, so got to meet them. And I can't wait for this new feature Job in Cam Live's going to be featuring simultaneous live streaming to vertical and horizontal on YouTube.
41:39 So excited for that when it drops. But those are my wins. Thank you. Yeah, congratulations, Janae. And I'm going to share a win because it's related to Janae. Janae has been working feverishly behind the scenes, working on all the video from the Empowered Podcasting Conference, and he's been chopping it up, editing it, making it look better and sound better. And I got to watch some of my keynote, my opening remarks from the event. And admittedly, it's challenging to sit back and watch myself do that. I can listen to myself on a podcast. I can watch myself on a podcast, but that's a that's a situation that I don't see myself in as often being up on a physical stage.
42:22 And it's a little uncomfortable to watch. So it's a muscle I need to continue to flex to continue to work out so that I can get a little more comfortable doing it because woof, it's hard. OK. But thank you, Janae. Appreciate you doing all that work for the Empowered Podcasting community. You are the man, Tim. Speaking of Empowered Podcasting community, welcome back to the stage. Please share any wins from your week. Hey Mark, it's been an interesting week here because I work for a three letter agency. I'm at work right now not getting paid, but that's OK because again, because of Empowered Podcasting and for everything that you know, you've taught me and inspired in me. So my first client emailed me.
43:06 He was like, hey, I've got a interview lined up with the governor of Wyoming. Can you make it on Tuesday? Yes. So. So that's money coming in. I have another potential insulting client that we're in talks right now to start up her podcast on African American Women's Health in the spring. So yay, the three letter agency isn't paying me right now, but my clients are. So that's my win. Congratulations, Tim. Awesome. Love hearing new business stuff coming through for people. That's awesome. Congratulations and thank you for the for giving the props to this community for assisting you or at least empowering you to go out there and make those wins happen. Congratulations to you, Tim, and thanks for continuing to come back to the podcasting morning chat. It's been great having you join us in the audience, joining us on stage when you can.
44:02 You, you are a great member of this community and a welcome one. Thanks for being here, Tim. Chris, coming back to you, you want to share some wins with us? A couple wins. One was last night, actually. Got to do something that was really, really cool. With Radio Garden State, we actually did a basically five hours of radio broadcast from the Stone Pony in Asbury Park last night, which you know, for anybody from New Jersey knows that the Stone Pony legendary club here, of course, you know, all the affiliations of Bruce and just the whole New Jersey, you know, music scene. So but it was great, it was a charity event that we were invited to be part of and I was about all the bands thing. It was just really great.
44:47 And so I kicked us off with like a 90 minute show and then it was great because we had the other on air hosts involved. So basically we did 4 shows during that time, did interviews with a bunch of the organizers and just it was just really awesome. I mean, Mike and I were like just asking and glory last night because it just felt so cool. And it was just wild to be like, wow, we're here at the Stone Pony, like totally doing our thing broadcasting. And so it was, it was just really cool. And if anybody caught it, you know, was live, we'll have all the replays of all that stuff. We'll be airing it and it'll be on our Patreon and all that. But it was just so cool. And again, that's, that's Radio Garden State, if people.
45:28 Yeah, Radio Garden State. And you can listen to it on radiogardenstate.com. We're also on the Odyssey app, TuneIn app and radio.net, but we are working on our own app. It's it's in development. So but in development hell, But it's, it's coming, Chris. And then I just wanted to say though, real quick, congratulations, especially because I know you a little bit and I know that radio has been something that you've always loved. And, and now having this outlet, Radio Garden State as an Internet radio thing and doing all these different events just like a radio station would. It's cool to see you doing it and living that dream that I know you've had for a while now. So congratulations to you. Yeah, No, thank you very much. Yeah, it's great. And I, I do.
46:08 I love it. It's it's really cool. And I'm glad, you know, I'm glad Mike took the risk in the leap and I'm, I'm happy to support him in, in this, you know, in this endeavor. Cause believe me, it takes a lot. It's, it's not cheap. We're doing our best man. We're totally DIY and punk rocking this thing. It's working. You know, we're getting, and we're averaging about 13,000 listeners a month now. And you know, we're doing this with, with no money, no budget and just just doing it. So we got about 20 on air host now and it's, it's amazing. So really proud of what we've accomplished in a short amount of time, but but that's it. I don't want to give up any more time. I'm going to pass the baton. All right, awesome. Congratulations again to Chris, and we're going to go to Yvonne next. Yvonne, welcome back to the stage.
46:49 Please share some wins with us. Hey, I don't want to take up too much time because I know you are running out the door, but what brought me up was hearing you talk about the work Janae is doing on all that video. And I just want to say, holy cannoli, I can only imagine the work that's going into that. Janae. And thank you again for doing what you did at that conference. That's amazing. Gosh, I was thinking, well, what are the wins this week? First of all, I've got one kid home for the weekend already and another one coming in this morning. So so going to have a house full this weekend. I'm very excited about that. Going to go see our my husband's show that he directed. We're all going up with some friends on Saturday and coming out of the conference.
47:35 I have to tell you, Mark, somebody that I met at the conference talked to somebody else that I kind of know and she does a like an event thing. And now she we had a talk this week and are in kind of thinking about how I might get be part of her conference. So that's all I can say right now. As a photographer, can you say that? As a photographer and and a panelist possibly. So this is all in the works. Like, you know, can't go into too much detail, but just to have something like that come out of having gone to be there in person, meeting somebody new and, and all that, it was part of the magic of the conference. So thank you.
48:20 Yeah. And. I will take some credit for that as our conference and I think that's the power of going to conferences in general. I think that we make these connections and there are opportunities we never would have expected often times because you know we're used to being in our usual bubbles and changing things up, doing something different, networking with people can often times create some new opportunity. So thank you for sharing that. And I also was just had to point out, Yvonne, that you had said, gosh, I was thinking when you asked, what are my wins this week? That's the point of this discussion on Fridays is to encourage people to stop and think about those wins because it's easy for us not to. I do this in part for myself, selfishly, to keep myself accountable for stopping to smell the roses, stopping and appreciating the things that I was able to do this week. So thank you for saying that, even though I know you didn't intend to, that wasn't the intention to get this kind of conversation.
49:21 But thank you for saying that. I appreciate it, Yvonne. It's 100% true though, it really is. We do have to stop and think about what we actually accomplished. You know, and the other, the other little side effect of going to your conference is that I saw another one coming up next week in New York City. It's got some people that I really I'd love to have on my podcast. And so I signed up and I'm going to an in person event in New York next week. Awesome Yvonne, that's awesome. Congratulations. I think that's great because then again, we've talked about it that sometimes you feel a little bit out of your comfort zone doing those things. So kudos to you for pushing through and signing up and seeing the benefit more than focusing on the fear of being in those big city, you know, those big rooms with lots of people. That's awesome.
50:08 Congratulations. I I got to keep it moving now and go to some baza, some baza. Good morning to you share some wins with us, Win for the week. I don't know if it's it's kind of half, half a win and kind of like a sad note. This week, Jen and I had the chance and privilege to interview Talib Jassir, who's the founder for Afros and Audio, which is coming up next week from the 16th to the 19th. Unfortunately, he spoke about it. It was a long conversation and this will be the last one that he will have as Afros and Audio. He's going into other things. I'm still believing that, you know, I'm having formal that it may continue, but that was a great conversation that we had and I'm hoping for great things. So the win for the week is I guess we had a final podcast conversation with Talib as he's was the founder of Afroz and Audio Festival, which has been running for seven years. More things to come in the.
51:08 Future, that's my win for the week. Yeah, what a great event. And yeah, I had not heard about that, so thank you for sharing that, Sambaza. And yeah, of seven years. I know it's been a great event and I know that the Afrozen audio community has really appreciate it. So yeah, it's a little sad to hear it's going away and who knows? Yeah, like I'll hold out hope with you that somebody maybe will pick up the baton and keep it going. But thank you for sharing that and awesome. Congratulations on that interview. Sounds like a good one for sure. Sambazi, you want to share the name of that podcast so people can go check it out if they're interested? Thank you and y'all have a nice weekend. What? What's the name of the podcast? It's a collaborative. Podcast so if you check on Sambaza podcast, you'll find it there or if you go to work by accident, you'll find it there because we both collaborate, Jen and I, and we've been doing this for the last two years going on to two years plus.
51:57 Yeah, Yep. Cool. Thank you. I just want to make sure those who didn't know now Duke, congratulations some baza and thank you for coming up. I will let's do a rapid fire 'cause I really got a jet here gang. I got to figure this thing out with Friday mornings. One win for me. I officially signed on a new client this week who wants me to consult on top of consult on the project, I should say on top of producing the show. So that's awesome. And I've had a very promising, I've actually had two very promising Discovery calls this week and more lined up next week. And I do have to say, several of these conversations I'm having all have a connection back to the Empowered Podcasting Conference in some way, shape or form.
52:42 So that makes me feel good, especially after putting so much time and money into the event. It looks like it's paying off a bit. So that's my win and I'm going to hand it to DRDR. You can pass it along. I know Ashley can't talk right now. Ashley, if that changes, put it in the chat and we'll. Yeah, you can pass it to Sid unless Ashley says something different in the chat. OK, so my win is that. I have gone to a couple of virtual network meetings and I have found some opportunities to do guest swaps with my clients, with people who I have met at these at these virtual events, especially the ones on Thursday that we promote all the time.
53:28 So, yeah, so that's my win. And Sid, what you got Seriously to Mark, I got a new client. This week a coaching sales leadership client this week which is a lot of fun. I love working with sales leaders and then we had three new sign ups for our mastermind groups, which is always great to see that growing because we're a startup and every time somebody joins, it's kind of like, let's ring the bell. Celebrates. That's really good. So those are my wins for the week. Matt, what you got, buddy? I set myself up starting this week. With a few better habits and better ways to manage my time. And it seems to be working because I managed to get to the gym three times for a change. So woo Hoo for that. Congratulations, Matt.
54:13 That didn't sound terribly enthusiastic there at the end. Woo Hoo for that. Have some AI insert some intentional hyper. There you go. That means you've just given me permission to use your voice. So now I will go ahead and run it through AI and use it for all sorts of fun things. Thank you Matt, you do it. People accuse me of sounding like AI anyway, so I wouldn't go that far. Thank you, Matt. Congratulations to you, to Sid, to Dr. and Ashley, did you put anything? Yeah. Her win is that she's being able to podcast with the podcasting morning chat and her podcast Sunshine State Showcase while attending the oh, I'm going to butcher it.
54:53 Swanani. Did I do that right? Roots rival music festival. Congratulations, Ashley. And look at that. Here's a win for me. Oh, were you going to say something, Sid? It's, you know, Swanee. Swanee. Thank you. And there we go. Congrats to me for getting this done right at 8:00 AM. So now I can pop over to the other room. Thank you all for joining me. We're back Tuesday cuz Monday is a holiday here in the United States. So we're back Tuesday 7:00 AM Eastern Time. Come join us and we'll do it all week long after that. Until then, make it a great weekend everybody. Take care.
