On this day, 10 August 1901, two English women claimed to experience one of history's most famous and enduring paranormal mysteries – the Versailles Time Slip.
While visiting the gardens of the Petit Trianon at the Palace of Versailles, Charlotte Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain believed they had somehow stepped back into eighteenth-century France, encountering people in period dress and later suggesting they had glimpsed the world of Marie Antoinette herself.

Dr Ann Winsper is a Psychical Phenomenologist and holds a PhD in the Psychology of Electronic Voice Phenomena. She was the recipient of the 2021 ASSAP Michael Bentine Award and has spent many years researching reports of time slips and other anomalous experiences. Alongside her research, she is a Registered Pharmacy Technician at the Countess of Chester Hospital, UK.
