And I always had this weird obsession with the dead, and it wasn't dark or morbid in the least.
I just knew they had so much to say.
I'm not going to force any spirit.
I think you have to to play in this otherworldly world on the other side of the veil.
0:16
I think you have to have integrity.
I think you have to have virtue.
You have to know right from wrong.
You have to have a moral code.
If not, don't play in this world because that's when you can get into trouble.
It's it's all about respect is a big word because nobody wants to be disrespected, whether you're dead or living or elemental or anything else.
0:39
When you come in with with respect, people listen.
Yeah, You, why do you want to go in there screaming at a ghost?
Who would want to talk to you?
You come in there screaming at them, you know, ask invite request, and they're going to be much more likely to have a conversation.
0:56
That was Patty Nagri.
Perhaps better known to many of you as the Good Witch of Hollywood, psychic medium, practising witch, author, teacher, podcaster and a familiar face from paranormal television.
1:13
Many will recognise Patty from her recurring appearances on Ghost Adventures where since 2015 she has become the team's go to psychic medium.
But as you're about to hear, there is considerably more to Patty in her work than what we see on television.
1:33
She is the international best selling author of Old World Magic for the Modern World, host of the award-winning podcast The Witching Hour, a teacher through her school, University Magicus, and someone who has spent a lifetime exploring mediumship magic, intuition and our relationship with the spirit world.
1:56
And it was that broader philosophy that I particularly wanted to explore in our conversation.
Not simply what Patty believes, but how she approaches the paranormal with an emphasis on respect, intention, personal responsibility and bringing what she describes as a little light into the darkness.
2:19
We talk about her experiences from childhood onwards, communicating with spirits, why she believes intuition is something all of us can develop, Ethics and boundaries and paranormal investigation, haunted locations and weather ghosts are really trapped.
2:37
The energies we may create ourselves, the place of magic in ordinary everyday life, and ultimately what Patty believes might await us after death.
There is a warmth and positivity to Patty's approach that offers a rather different perspective on a subject so often presented through darkness and fear.
3:00
So, from spirits and haunted places to witchcraft, intuition, magic, and the possibility of what lies beyond the veil, this is my conversation with Patty Nagri.
Hi.
Patty, welcome to the podcast.
3:17
Thank you so much for having me, happy to be here.
So do you want to maybe just start by telling the listeners a little bit about yourself?
I mean, obviously, you've described in the past communicating with spirits from a very young age.
3:32
When did you kind of first realize that that was something that was completely normal to you?
Honestly, I, I think I thought everybody did this.
I wasn't even in kindergarten and I just, I was very shy kid, very creative kid.
So I think that helps to open up that right brain, that intuitive side.
3:50
I just, I knew I had special friends and they talked and I just, I honestly think kids, all kids have it.
It just gets taught out of us in our modern Western complete logical, left brain focused society where, oh, that becomes your imaginary friend.
4:09
But my mom's like, Oh yeah, grandma could see that too.
Yeah, Grandma knew that too.
And so it wasn't taught out of me.
It was encouraged and wasn't weird, and I always had this weird obsession with the dead, and it wasn't dark or morbid in the least.
4:25
I just knew they had so much to say.
So I literally did my first seance, which is one of the things I'm kind of known for internationally.
At 7 or 8 years old in my little suburban Los Angeles home, I went in the hall where there were no windows because it was midday.
Stuffed towels under the door.
4:43
And then I realized, oh, wait, I, I don't know any dead people.
And I'm like Marilyn Monroe, John Kennedy, whoever A7 or 8 year old knew who was dead.
And my little, you know, dark hall filled with lights and orbs and shadows and noises and I was jumping for joy as I was also running outside screaming.
5:02
And I've, I've been a seeker my entire life, even on my magical side of things, my witchy side of things, my connection with nature, whatever you want to call it.
That I was that same little kid in my, again, suburban backyard picking a Rosemary and mint and stuffing it in my mom's wallet, knowing it would bring her more money and doing all sorts of weird things that she didn't understand quite as much as the as the talking to the dead part.
5:27
Like, why are you putting dirt in my purse?
No, no, no, not dirt.
This is going to give you money.
And then studying it my whole life afterwards.
Yeah, I was right.
I used the right things.
So do you think that kind of psychic, that intuitive side can be developed for people?
I know it can be developed for people.
5:46
That's why I started my school like almost seven years ago.
I, I, it's all in us.
We just overthink everything.
It's learning to slightly quiet that logical left brain, allow that right intuitive brain and even your heart.
You know, science is figuring out we have thinking cells in our human heart and our heart leads us somewhere.
6:05
It's not going to be colored by our fears or idiosyncrasies or upbringing.
And I see I could teach somebody in one little hour inexpensive class, like how they can tune into that.
And then you develop it.
It's like going to the gym, but literally for your intuition.
6:21
And whether we use it to talk, if we're talking to dead people or not, we all need to get back into trusting that gut or intuition or whatever we want to call it.
So it it's just a good thing all the way around.
Yeah.
I, I often think because, you know, my background is education and I think, you know, so much of the, the teaching curriculum is very much centred around actually focusing away from those kinds of arts, those kinds of creative sides of things.
6:52
And you know, I see that kind of exactly what you were just saying there in so many aspects of how we bring up our children, how we raise our children.
You know, the kind of lives that we step into that they are very much kind of centric, focused on certain things.
7:08
And you know, I do think it, like you said, unlearn some of that intuitiveness that we have when we're very young as small children.
And, you know, I think a large part of that is the society that we live in, the culture that we live in, and the expectations and the route to adulthood, if you like, that is the expectation and the norm rather than, you know, some of those things that you just mentioned.
7:33
I have a perfect example that especially you with a teaching background.
I live in Hollywood, CA.
I literally live under the big famous Hollywood sign under the H.
We have a beautiful little school, 100 year old elementary school in our neighborhood.
No one from the hills sent their kids there because it was horrible.
7:51
It was the least 10 percentile of schools in the LA Unified School District, which isn't great anyway.
So the people from the hills all had to send their kids to private school.
And then the the, the people from the flats that immigrants and the poor people had to go to this horrible school.
8:09
My neighborhood I live in the hills was decided, no, we want our kids to go to public school.
We want them to have an urban environment.
We don't want to be, we don't want them to go to private school.
So what we did, because I'm on the board of the Hollywood Arts Council, we brought in art classes.
8:26
We brought in dance and photography and little improv and acting and gardening.
We did not change the math teachers or the English teachers.
Within two years, we went to a from a, a lowest 10 percentile to a school of excellence where now the everybody sends their kids there.
8:45
We didn't change the teachers.
We allowed creativity.
We allowed all of a sudden these little beautiful immigrant kids are having fun and learning and dancing and playing and now they're able to study their math and their English and all their educational things.
I mean, it's just I'm looking at a school, you know, 500 children that prove that point without changing the teachers.
9:08
Yeah, I think you're spot on.
And, you know, I do think there is something in very much activating both both sides of the brain, you know, developing those different skill sets just to again, help us to see the world in in full colour, if you like, rather than just this, again, this very narrow perspective.
9:27
So, you know, it's really heartwarming from my background to kind of hear that the involvement you've had in that in terms of your local community, because I do think it's so important.
And I think it's important for all of us because like you mentioned before, you know, I think there are parts of us that more and more we lose.
9:46
And we've seen being lost culturally that I think if we can get back to some of that, we'd be very kind of nourishing for people's souls.
Because I, you know, I think we see just the, the kind of the fast pace of life more and more.
And to be able to strip back some of that to some of these basics, these elementals that were there for our ancestors that were there generationally back that.
10:09
Again, if we can tap into some of that, I think is is particularly nourishing for us as human beings.
Yes 100% and it allows us to think and decide, not just be little sheeps like what Wait how do I feel about this?
So just kind of thinking about, obviously you've had such an incredible career and I mean, you are you are somebody with so many different hats in terms of what you have brought to the paranormal community, to the magic community.
10:38
Do you think there's any particular kind of ethical lines for you and the others?
You know, things that for you are really important to not cross that should be that kind of message out there in the in the community, in the paranormal community.
Yes, I have huge boundaries and lines I will not cross.
10:54
Absolutely.
That's why I think I know me.
I'm known as the good witch.
I'm not good or bad.
Actually, it's because I have the big blended dress.
I'm a fan of Wizard of Oz, but I I don't believe in controlling or manipulating anybody or anything.
11:10
I on the witchy world, I am a great spellcaster, but I'm not going to control any other person but myself in the paranormal world.
Talk to spirits, talking to spirits my whole life.
I'm not going to force any spirit.
I think you have to, to play in this otherworldly world on the other side of the veil.
11:28
I think you have to have integrity.
I think you have to have virtue.
You have to know right from wrong.
You have to have a moral code.
If not, don't play in this world because that's when you can get into trouble.
And you raise something so beautifully there because, you know, one of the, the things that I see, which I find quite disheartening is precisely something you mentioned that attempt to, to communicate with spirits where sometimes if they don't want to communicate, when you see teams or investigators or things that are put out in the media where there is that kind of forceful attempt.
12:04
And you know, I think you, you really eloquently put about, you know, treating with respect, having those boundaries.
Because I, again, I think that's a really important message.
I think, you know, you have to remember and kind of work within this this kind of sphere in a way that is is respectful.
12:24
I think that's something really important to put out there.
So I'm glad you kind of brought that, brought that one up specifically because that's something that, you know, I think is really important for me in that, you know, I value very much so.
Thank you.
Yeah, I think it's it's all about respect is a big word because nobody wants to be disrespected.
12:41
Whether you're dead or living or elemental or anything else, when you come in with, with respect, people listen, yeah, you.
Why do you want to go in there screaming at it?
Go say who would want to talk to you?
You come in there screaming at them, you know, ask invite request, and they're going to be much more likely to have a conversation.
13:02
Yeah, to engage rather than to interpret that silence as an invitation to push harder, to go harder.
And I think it comes back to, you know, what your intention is, is there for why you're there, you know, is it to simply capture something as proof of something?
13:19
Or is it to be there for, you know, genuine reasons that are, you know, authentic that might be there to help what you know with whatever is happening there.
Help the spirits, help the the people of that home, you know, having something as a driving force.
13:38
That means that that communication, again, is one that you're not forcing, but when you're genuinely trying to eke out, engage and invite for that conversation, I think it's making that, you know, discernment as to what the purpose is and the driving factor is of being there.
13:55
Yep, 100%.
So you've obviously spent time working on on kind of television shows and putting some of these really well known shows out there for the the paranormal community.
Have you had any particular favorite locations that you've enjoyed exploring?
14:13
Yes, I I love all of it.
I'm still like an 8 year old kid like I get to go here.
I I have many favorite location, the scariest location for me, the darkest location.
Again, if you want to, I like to bring a candle into the darkness.
14:30
A light is literally right where I live.
It's the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles, because that place, it is the darkest, most sad place I've ever been.
I've never experienced anything like I've experienced there.
14:45
It's it's worse than the sum of all its parts.
It's the it's the location where the girl was found in the water tower after floating for three weeks and two serial killers have lived there from Richard Ramirez to a German guy.
More people thrown, jumped out of windows and anywhere else.
15:04
It's always been a place of failure from the time it was built.
And then literally that the Great Depression hit.
And it's always been a flophouse and failure and within a block of the place you want to kill yourself, you want.
It's so sad.
I just like to go there and just bring a hope of light because the last few years they're bringing in homeless people.
15:25
Great concept.
More than 7.
There's 700 empty rooms, more than 700 homeless people in downtown Los Angeles.
But even they don't want to move into it because it's just such a hopeless energy.
So that's the place I like to go, 'cause I just want to bring some light.
15:40
But I like happy, happy ghosts.
I like to hang out at the the hotels like the Biltmore or even the Hollywood Roosevelt, where the ghosts are hanging from the chandeliers, having a good time because they had the best days of their lives there.
15:56
They got married there.
They got an Academy Award there and they want to celebrate with you.
So that I love again, any happy place I love going, the farther I go towards your neck of the world.
I live in Los Angeles.
It's very new.
16:12
We don't have anything old.
The oldest things we have are mining towns because everybody went West.
So we go to Vulture City or Virginia City or Butte or Nevada City, where there's a certain type of ghost.
The more gruffer strong I'm going to go make my fortune and even stronger women came out.
16:30
But the farther I go E to get to back east, then they have, Oh, there is buildings from the 15 hundreds 1600s and there's all this history in American history, whole different set of ghosts.
And then we crossed the pond over to your side.
Oh my God, And we stepped right into antiquity where you could talk to, you know, a spirits in a French Chateau from the year 1200.
16:53
And not that we even speak the same language, but so I I just love that I'm not even limited to local that I get to travel the world doing this and the spirits.
I mean same in my experience how you are in life the same you are in death.
17:11
I think everybody gets a slightly higher perspective, whether that's literal or not.
But the cranky old, whatever, you know, stable men is going to be the cranky old ghost stable men.
And then they're going to usually be accused of being demonic, which I think is crazy because demons get way too much credit.
17:29
But one place I also I like and I, I'm not sure I think it's a connection is Gettysburg in America.
I don't know why I was so drawn there, because I am not a war enthusiast.
I don't like war.
I don't believe in war.
I am not a historian.
17:46
Why was I drawn to this big battlefield?
But I maybe I had lived there in another life or something.
But that place is so charged it it's again, I'm one of those special places and not for the joy or hanging from the chandeliers, but just connecting with spirit.
18:04
So just kind of following on from that, I mean, obviously you do have the the real kind of joy of being able to travel to so many different places and experience so many different types of locations that are going to have those different histories, those different stories, those different ghosts.
18:21
Is there anywhere that's on your bucket list in terms of you would really love to go and explore a particular location or country that you just haven't had the chance to to obviously kind of make the visit to yet?
Yes, in, in, in America, there's a few of the very famous places that just everybody talks about that weirdly I haven't been to yet.
18:43
Literally like the the in Colorado, the place where they did the shining.
Everybody says how haunted it is or the Warren estate.
My friends just bought that, you know, they bought Anand Bell and the Warren estate and I have not been to the Warren home, which I'm a friend of Andrea Perrin.
So in the States, there's a few of those famous, everybody goes are places that weirdly I haven't been to.
19:05
And other than that, I, I want to do a bit more of, of Europe.
I fell in love with Romania and I want to go somewhere in that neck of the world more.
I want to get a little more into the Middle East with some of their spirits.
Africa.
19:23
I I just want to keep branching out because again, I want to meet the ghosts there.
And some of those places that you just mentioned, I mean, they have such a unique connection with their spirits, with their ancestors, you know, in terms of ancestral veneration, in terms of beliefs around what happened to the dead.
19:41
I mean, there's such fascinating cultures to explore.
And I think, you know, all too often, you know, when we do kind of look at paranormal media, it is obviously US focused or UK focus, you know, certainly Western culture, if you like.
19:58
And, you know, to be able to explore some of those other aspects I think would be such a great addition to the understanding of this, you know, question of what happens after death.
Because like I said, there are some very unique voices and perspectives in parts of the world outside of, you know, Western culture.
20:17
So yeah, I think those will certainly be on some of my lists of places that I would also like to to visit and explore for some of those reasons that I just mentioned.
Yeah, and again, our Western culture is the least magical of almost any culture.
Again, we've taken the magic out of everything.
20:34
Get some to the more Asian countries and some more other countries.
They do believe in spirits much more than they do.
It's it's a whole connection and part of their life.
So it's interesting seeing that different culture.
Do you kind of have any particular thoughts about whether hauntings are location based, people based based?
20:54
Can they?
Do you have any kind of theories or thoughts that kind of stand out to you as to what you think is predominantly happening?
I think I, I think it can be both.
I think a spirit has kind of a choice.
I don't think that ghosts mean they're stuck by any means.
21:10
I think they hang out because they want to.
They want to watch their grandkids grow up.
They want to hang out and stop in the upper corner.
Even some of the dark, the darker places, the prisons and the asylums that we go to, it's like that's the life they knew.
I don't think they're being tortured, but they're hanging out in the yard at the prison.
21:28
That's where they spent 30 years.
There is a few that I think are stuck there somehow, whether an unexpected death or just didn't fit into the great plan of things.
Those are the ones I call shades and those are the ones literally you can crossover, go to that, go to the light, Carol Anne, go to the light, create and let them cross.
21:48
And then if they want to come back, they can.
But not stuck or like in the case of the Cecil Hotel, something bigger than the sum of all its parts is holding them there.
Or even the Black Dahlia House that famous, the actress, the black, the, you know, Elizabeth Short, the Black Dahlia, I do believe she and some other women are being held in that location against their will.
22:10
So again, I wish I could get back in there.
And with a whole bunch of other healers, witches, priests, rabbis, shamans, witch doctors, all of the above and, and help.
But I think if you're so if, if nothing dies, the human body, the meat suit dies, but the spirit or soul, even science has proven that.
22:30
So if if you were a disembodied spirit, go hang out what you know or where you always wanted to go, whether you and if you want a vessel, pick a vessel.
And a lot of right now I've, that's why I just did my book on haunted dolls.
It's like if, if you was, you were a disembodied spirit, you know, you can go into a teapot or something with eyes and nose and a face.
22:53
I'm going to pick something with eyes and a nose and a face.
Just if you chose that you wanted to have a vessel to kind of hang out in.
But I think as a majority, they are not stuck in there just because they, if there's no time and space on the other side, which I firmly believe they could be reincarnated if that's what they believe in.
23:11
They could be, you know, in the pearly gates, if that's what they want, just part of the great consciousness and go watch the grandkids grow up.
It's out time and space.
It's it's hard for our little human brains, but it's almost like the ancient Sumerian belief system kind of you go to and you create the afterlife.
23:30
You believe it all right.
It's kind of like the Matrix.
And you know, just kind of follow on from that.
I mean, again, there are some cultures where that is so firmly rooted in their belief system.
If you travel to Japan, for example, you know the idea of their ancestors being in everyday household objects and they're that they're going to be there for a certain period of time.
23:54
And therefore, you know, you have to respect them.
You have to treat them well.
You know, they have to be placed on the ancestral table.
You can't just get rid of them like we do.
You know, they can't be treated as as rubbish and junk to just throw away.
24:09
So you know, that kind of belief system of our ancestors, the spirits kind of becoming attached to everyday ordinary things is not so unusual in so many other cultures cultures.
Exactly.
And it's a beautiful again, one way to keep your ancestors alive, whether you believe in ghosts or not, is have an ancestral altar or just the picture of grandma and grandpa on the on the thing.
24:33
Talk about them have stories.
It's it's, that's how we keep history and ancestors alive.
So do you think we can inadvertently create a haunting, you know, by giving it a name, a personality history, that emotional connection?
24:51
Do you kind of have that view as well?
I completely think we can because literally we are creating a spirit in witchcraft.
We would call that you're creating a fetish or a servitor, A culpa, creating a spirit.
Like it's not all hauntings are a ghost.
They're created energy that you're coming in.
25:08
So if something, because I do a lot of clearing, something bad really happened and happened over and over again, maybe an abusive thing or murders or horrible things happen.
That energy grows, that grows and grows, and that literally can create a spirit within it of a haunting.
25:26
It doesn't mean it's a specific ghost of the dead Uncle Bob that came in.
We're creating stuff.
I think we create spirits all the time, even if it's in the day-to-day life.
Oh, the spirit of success or the spirit of struggle or the spirit of I can't find love or whatever that is.
25:42
I think we create hauntings or negative or positive energy all the time.
And, you know, just coming back to what we were talking about right at the very beginning about intuition, about tapping into that kind of side of ourselves.
You know, I think we tap into things like that when we do things like house hunting, if we're buying a house or looking for a place to rent, you know, when you kind of step into a location, you have that first impression of, oh, this just has that good energy or this just doesn't have that right vibe, that right energy attached to it.
26:14
So, you know, those houses that we Passover, all those houses that stand out for us, I think there's something about that collective energy then that has been put into that place that somehow we start to energetically feel.
And, you know, I think one of the misconceptions for me when it comes to things like haunted locations, haunted places, you know, there is a huge focus on, you know, this place is is haunted because there was this sinister tragic event.
26:44
But actually so many hauntings, I think, and haunted locations are based on just that collective positive energy too.
You know, if we think about marriages and births and moments of celebrations, those kind of get trapped in the, you know, that atmosphere, that place as well that I think we can also tap into and feel very much like we do these other places where they have that kind of less warm kind of feeling as we step into them.
27:14
Yeah, I agree 100%.
And again, and you could look at even in places of business like or homes like, no everybody moves out of this one house or this, no business succeeds in this one little restaurant corner.
Every comes and fails comes and fails comes and or the one that always thrives no matter what's there.
27:33
I think that's all attached to the energy of the place.
Definitely.
And This is why I think, you know, it's I find the fact that you've been on some of the television shows that you have been on and the fact that you are such a positive advocate in the paranormal community, I think is so refreshing because I do think you bring that very important voice, that very intuitive voice, that listening voice, someone who is not, you know, going to rush to judgement.
28:03
And I think it's so essential to have Someone Like You in some of these key positions and these key roles because, you know, I think it's it's a side that we often don't get to see.
And, you know, the fact that you are there representing magic, intuition, this, this kind of other approach, I think is so valuable and so important because, you know, if we think about the history of the paranormal, if we think about this, the history of speaking to the dead, the history of magic, you know, women have been such a central part of that.
28:37
And you know, your approach very much conveys that, I think, in a very positive way.
Thank you yes, and it's good and and it's growing and changing and learning.
There is less of that provoking bunch of techie dudes walking and going now.
28:54
Now it's normal for each paranormal teams.
I'm not don't mean just TV teams or all my influence or YouTube team, just the regular teams in the regular town next door.
They're, they're bringing on the intuitive, whether they call them their psychic or their medium or their witch or their spiritualist to like, oh, let's bring that aspect in too, not just screaming at ghosts because there's a bunch of tech happy men.
29:16
So we need that again, that personal touch and often the female touch.
We need that again.
And it's getting, luckily it's it's going in the right direction.
But again, this is where I think, you know, so much of what you do kind of really helps to elevate that because obviously you've gone from practicing your practicing magic yourself to teaching others.
29:40
You know, you are sharing these these magical practices.
You're you're kind of regularly giving this information through so many different mediums.
And you know, part of that obviously is the witching hour that you put out where you are getting the chance to interview people, share your beliefs.
30:01
You know, you just mentioned a few moments ago the the book that you put out.
There are so many different things that you do to help convey this knowledge of information and to to have this platform for people who are like minded to come along and to find, you know, thinking about all of those different, different platforms and, and the, the kind of the messages that you help to put out and the work that you do.
30:27
Do you think there's any, you know, any small thing that people can do in their lives every single day to kind of help bring that magic, help bring that into their kind of everyday, everyday life, everyday world?
Yes, and it's a million things and it's simple little awareness things.
30:44
It's intent things.
That's actually why I did my first book, Old World Magic for the Modern World.
I noticed that we did.
All of a sudden we go through life, you go to work, you come up.
We don't want to be those zombies phoned in automatic pilot asleep at the wheel.
And we use all that terminology.
31:01
It's like how to wake up, how to charm your toothpaste, what what a pinch of salt in the commode before you go to the bathroom.
You could relieve a headache.
How to just bring magic into your thought process into walking through the threshold of your door.
Intent following moon cycles.
31:16
My God we are 70% water.
It's not just the crazy full moon everybody worries about.
What if if you followed like the two weeks the moon is waxing.
You woke up and said, I'm going to add into my life today, the two weeks, the moon, the wanings, I'm going to release something that's not serving me today.
31:33
Every full moon you got out there and celebrated and ingratitude and ask for what you want and if every dark moon, the new moon you went inside.
What do I want now?
Not what did I want last month, not what does the world want?
Just that awareness.
Within two weeks of doing that, you will notice the good stuff in your life gets better, easier with that grace and ease of the moon and not good or bad.
31:57
But what's no longer serving you falls away.
You're literally topping, tapping into your tides of human.
We've gotten so away from that with our modern living and our controlled light and controlled air.
It's like get in touch with nature, take a small walk in the park or your tiny backyard, connect in.
32:15
It changes everything and all of a sudden you brought that magic back.
So do you kind of think there's anything in particular that we're kind of getting wrong with that then like in terms of when you see what's put out there in the in the kind of the general information, the general population, are there things that you think are misleading, misrepresenting what you think magic and your message is?
32:39
Yeah, I think there's some there's certainly and to me, my little red flag rule is anything that's control driven or fear driven is is not the best, you know, teacher or path to do somebody wants to control you versus have you think and free will or you know, do it or else that doesn't feel good in the heart.
33:06
That doesn't feel good is something that's inspiring and that's empowering that it's not like you can't do this, like, oh, you do this or you could do this as as soon as you start doing that, it's great.
I and I go so and listen, if you something makes you feel good, like I can do that.
33:23
Not giving your power away.
Again, in working with people, it's like, I see how much we've given our power away to limiting belief systems to other people just to fear.
Turn fear in an inspirator turn.
Like, OK, I'm going to ride that roller coaster, yay, and turn it instead.
33:40
Like I'm going to have that deep serious conversation with my mom.
Yay.
It's scary, but I love it.
That kind of fear is OK.
I think some of the new age, like witch talk and oversimplification of things is a little bit of an oversimplification.
33:57
Like I'm a lucky girl.
I'm lucky because I say so.
It's a little oversimplified perhaps, but at least peaks people think and give it a chance.
Like, OK, I'm going to choose to be lucky.
And then they see it works.
And then maybe they'll still study a little more into a little deeper understanding of the psychology of it, of the magic of it, of the neuroscience of it.
34:19
If you want to get scientific, yeah.
So are there any kind of projects that you're working on, anything that's coming up that's exciting, that's in the pipeline of what you're going to be doing next?
Patty.
Yeah, a few things.
And of course the things that that are in the pipeline are the things you can't talk about.
34:39
I would really like and and have it in the works where I actually did have a big public had more creative control.
I want something more my philosophy, whether it's a reality show or TV or something.
I mean, I'm, I'm working to it in all the ways that I can with my school, with my podcast, with my streaming network Paraflex, with my writing.
35:00
But I would like something where again, let's have this positive, super positive paranormal show, this empowering magical show without getting preachy, without telling anybody what to believe.
That would be my dream.
That would be my absolute dream.
And I think it would be wonderful.
35:18
I think, you know, it's, it's something that is, is I think demand being demanded more and more by people.
And, you know, to have that kind of show out there would I, I think would be incredible because when, when first of all, do you see a kind of a female presenter in that position of authority as the lead investigator, the lead kind of host, if you like, of that kind of a show in the paranormal community?
35:48
It's, it's kind of rare.
Very, but at the same time, I think like I was just saying it's, it's not as well represented.
It's not out there in in the way that some other aspects of the paranormal are kind of conveyed.
And so, you know, I think the demand is there and I think it would be fabulous to see something like that.
36:08
I think it would be really refreshing.
And like I kind of alluded to earlier, I think, you know, when I see you in television shows, when you bring that side, I think it adds something of huge value to the investigation.
So to have a focus on that I think would be very enlightening for people who maybe don't have any information at all, have no knowledge who are coming at it completely open.
36:31
But also for those that have understanding who do practice magic, you know, it would be something that I think would really intrigue and capture people of all different kinds of levels of of interest and experience.
So, you know, I personally would love to see something like that, I think would add something of huge importance.
36:50
Thank you, me too.
And something that could stay with them again, something that's empowering that that's like they could take back into their day-to-day life that they could take to work with them or home to their family with them.
Just a thought and a thought process, a perception about things that wait, I really do have control over whatever alongs the way.
37:11
Definitely.
From the spirit world, yes.
So just to kind of finish our conversation, Patty, you know, kind of thinking about everything that you've seen, everything that you've experienced and you've learned over your your lifetime.
What do you kind of now believe happens then when we die?
37:29
Do you have any kind of particular thoughts or perspectives on what you think will happen to us once once we Passover?
I think I'm going to hang out with everybody I know and love.
Whoever's left, I, I do think again, spirit lives, soul lives.
37:46
I do think, I think this is school.
Us, our living life is school.
I think the other side is school.
We're always these evolving spirits.
Some of us in this school, we, we chip, chip simple lives.
Some of us higher education, harder lives, more spiritual path, you know, not saying it's going to be easier.
38:05
It's like, OK, I picked grad school for this life.
Great.
And then when we pass, I do believe that again, whether it's a great consciousness where we go, that we have a choice too.
What do we want to do next?
Do we want to move on to another lifetime?
Do we want to just hang out in the ethers, being part of whatever, again, very close to the ancient Sumerian create and go to the afterlife.
38:30
You believe it?
I like, I like being human.
I know so many people going, oh, I don't want to come back.
I just want to go into the ethers or the heavens or whatever they believe in.
I love humans.
I think that's part I want to come back, you know, good, the good, the bad and ugly, everything around the way.
38:47
So my last two lives were very, very close together because I like being here.
So, you know, I'll hang out in the ethers forever and ever.
But I do think we have somewhat of a choice.
I don't think we're necessarily going to remember it.
And we can learn to remember it with, you know, hypnosis, meditation, working inside all those things that we do to learn what's what.
39:12
But I think it's just part all part of an adventure.
Why not?
Why not look at it like an adventure?
Definitely, you know, I think again, it kind of comes back to some of the things that we've touched on.
We can race through life, can't we?
We can be just so focused on work, you know, things in our lives that become super, super important without sometimes just taking that step back and really getting out of life what we should be getting out of it.
39:41
You know, the enjoyment, the, the learning experience, the, the chance to really connect.
You know, it's, it's kind of living for those moments and being in those moments that I think are something that we, you know, hopefully take with us that we learn and that we learn to value more and more.
40:01
As we go through these different experiences.
Yeah, be in the now.
We keep waiting.
I'll be happy when I have more money.
I'll be happy when I find a partner.
Or I'll be happy when I can get out of this job.
No, find your happy now and then all that other stuff comes around.
40:17
The job changes or you get a better job.
You find the partner.
What you're happy.
The partner's not going to make you happy.
We keep waiting until I will do this.
When there is no when make your when now and then everything else happens around you.
So where is the the best place for people listening to, you know, follow what you're doing if they've been inspired to maybe listen to a podcast or kind of dip their toe into the magical world?
40:45
Where's the the best way to to follow you, Patty, and to kind of discover more of what you're doing?
More than they ever want.

I could I my class is literally 20 U.S. dollars or less to come and sit in a medium ship a spell casting psychic development class familiars class From there they can get to my school university magicus from there they can get to my podcast either the audio version is available everywhere it's called the witching hour with Patti Negri video.
41:37

Also on my YouTube page is hundreds of free videos do this do that just little life helper things.
They can also get to my books, my newest book, Doll Craft, which literally brings my my witchy world, my magical world and my paranormal together with the one thing that's always reunited me is dolls.
42:01
I'm a doll collector since birth.
So it the book is half about magical puppets and creating these beautiful dolls for health and love and money, and the other half is the proper care and feeding of haunted dolls since everybody wants one now.
They've never been more popular and there is proper care and feeding.
42:18
If you don't want to bring some dark energy haunted doll into your house, it'll cause arguing and illness and tiredness at the very least if you don't know how to take care of it.

44:00
Because you know, I think, you know, one of the things, like I've said a few times, you know, one of the things that you really do bring to this community is just this very much needed voice.
You know, it's almost like you are a voice that counsels not only the dead, but the living because you are really giving something back to everybody.
44:21
You know, you are so wise and so measured in your approach to things.
And again, I think like you said earlier on, it's that light that you bring to whether it's paranormal TV shows, whether that's to your interviews, whether that's to the the magical practice that you share.
44:39
You are really offering something that I think people will find valuable if they haven't discovered you already.
Oh, thank you, Thank you.
