#14 When life changes your direction
Welcome to Different Points episode 14 with myself and co-host Roy Colan. So today's episode is all about when life changes your direction and I've experienced this so many times, in fact my entire life feels like this, but Roy I'm going to invite you to kick off with this one. So when I hear that, when life changes your direction, I go back to, and I know I kind of touched on it on a few episodes where, you know, I kind of lost everything, you know, I went through a big financial, and I'm talking about, you know, I was in shareholders, you know, I had shares in lots of properties here in Poland and I treat properties now, everything taken.
So that was a kind of shock to the system and overcame it. And then I decided, all right, I have to expose it. And that's why kind of all podcasts and everything came about all the different things I'm doing.
But you would never think, oh, this is a great thing that happened. You'd say, oh, I wish something like that never happened to me. But the journey that I'm on now is a lot better because of that baseball bat that I got slapped with.
And, you know, I kind of living in the moment as we've kind of discussed on other points, you know, that I'm kind of mindful, but also learning the sovereignty because of that. And then realizing I'm free instead of trying to get freedom from somebody or trying to get out of the system. I'm realized I am free.
I was corrupted into the whole, the way everything works. And based on what happened, it's the best thing to happen because now I'm on a better direction in life. Absolutely.
Yes. And what strikes me in what you just said is there's that degree of actually flowing with it, going with it, and then expanding on the possibilities rather than sitting there, arguing, complaining about it to everybody for years and years. And having a little crave for myself.
Getting completely stuck, you know, because then you've got no direction. And I've got so many examples of this. I started my podcast in the middle of the lockdowns.
I was sitting here in Wales, lovely environment. I could wander around in the fields whenever I wanted, you know, because nobody minded, you know, it was all lovely, but I hated the fact I couldn't meet with people. And it was really frustrating.
And then I just realized I had to do something to get out there and be talking to people. And a podcast just looked like the way to do it. I thought I've got to be doing something.
I couldn't really work, you know, because I did my work in person with people. I've just got to do something. And I grabbed onto podcasting, just as a way to survive, really, mentally and psychologically.
And it's grown into an amazing show. And I met you, Roy, and, you know, we're doing this show now and all sorts of other great things have come out of it. And I've got other examples when I decided to move house.
And you think, well, I'm going to go and live there. But you end up somewhere completely different because of budget or different circumstances or buyers dropping out. And like me, I've ended up in Wales.
I never planned to end up in Wales. I was supposed to be in Somerset. But, you know, and I've met all these people, my life's completely expanded.
So I think life does change our direction if we're open and we receive it as a gift, rather than just going into victim mode. And as you say, when we do that, then we are, we actually are free. We feel free.
Absolutely. And I just want to say congratulations as well, because this time of recording, you've hit over 400,000 downloads, but you've also been at number 21 or 28, could even be in the teens at this stage today, but in the USA, which is a fantastic achievement. So congratulations on that.
Thank you so much, Roy. I'm delighted. And that would, I say to my friends, I have no idea how this happened.
That's the other thing, when you follow life, changing your direction, it kind of puts lots of power behind you because life is helping you instead of you fighting life. And I think that's really important. So that's a very big topic.
I could talk about it for hours, but I won't do that right now. So thank you so much, everyone, for watching and listening. Do tune in again tomorrow or on Monday, if this is Friday, and let life tell you what your direction is going to be next.
And look at the show notes, because we've got all sorts of great links in there as well. Thank you. Thank you.
Take care.
