Podpage vs. Buzzsprout

Compare Podpage and Buzzsprout and hear from podcasters about what service they prefer for their podcast website.

“I was spending a lot of time creating and publishing episodes for my paranormal podcast, Afraid of Nothing. My podcast platform, Buzzsprout, had a passable website as part of its package. However, I decided I needed to step up my brand and invest in a more professional digital presentment of my podcast. Podpage fit the bill - plus it had a ton of positive reviews and recommendations. The response from the customer service team is second to none. Happy with my decision -- would do it again.”

— Bob Heske, Afraid of Nothing Podcast

Side by Side Comparison

Buzzsprout hosts your podcast and gives you a basic landing page with it. That page is a good place to start, and at the very least you should point a custom domain at it. But a landing page is not a website, and most shows outgrow it as soon as they want to build a brand, grow an email list, or rank in search.

Podcasters switch from Buzzsprout to Podpage all the time

Don't just take our word for it. Learn directly from podcasters who used to use Buzzsprout but switched to Podpage to give their podcast website the best chance possible.

I switched to Podpage for 3 reasons. 1. The versatility provides everything I need to promote my podcasts and more. 2. Professional layouts (my listeners have told me) and 3. The value for all the services I receive is better than their competitors.

Podpage makes it easy and convenient to use your own web address and build a custom page for our podcast! You get so many more features using Podpage than the previous site we used, it was a no brainer to switch! It is also incredibly user friendly and the support team is equally fantastic

I was using Buzzsprout to host my website. The format was restrictive and wasn’t visually appealing. The ability for the listeners to access whatever platform they preferred to being able to leave reviews Podpage gave a much more elevated experience for the listener.

I moved from Libsyn because I thought the website design was very basic looking whereas Podpage offered really cool templates I could choose from. I wanted a slicker, more modern looking site - and Podpage delivered. The SEO tools were also a big selling point for me because I'm not the smartest when it comes to SEO - and I really like the 'checklist' approach which ensures that I've covered all bases and will eventually get organic traffic for the long term.

Podpage provides a sophisticated and highly functional web site that meets my needs. And my investment of time to develop and maintain my site is minimal with great results.

I moved from a Buzzsprout link to my webpage of my Ways to Change the Workplace Podcast to use Podpage and have seen a significant shift not only in podcast listenership, but also new business! I switched to offer my audience better visuals and navigation. What I ended up is with that AND better SEO and searchability and an increase in listenership and a very professional looking page!

Our podcast is hosted by Buzzprout and for a while we were just using the "website" or landing page (as I rather call it) that they provide for your podcast. But thats all it is. We needed something that was going to provide more. Something that was going to help us grow. Something that was more than just a landing page, but an actual website. Itlooks better, it is more innovative, and it is more helpful when it comes to enhancing your SEO outreach and visibility than any other platform.

Buzzsprout doesn't give the option to use your own domain. You have to use the buzzsprout.com in the link. The SEO for Buzzsprout is non-existent. I also like the cleaner and more custom website and the fact that I can use the intake form built into Podpage instead of a Google form. Buzzsprout also doesn't allow for custom images for each episode.

I love the automation feature of having my episodes automatically uploaded including the audio players and all the links ready to go. This has literally saved me hours each week and open up valuable brain space in my head to focus on other aspects of my podcast.

I have a Wordpress page for my podcast. BuzzSprout also provides a page for my podcast. Podpage is superior to both. So, while I still have them, I pay for Podpage. Podpage is fully automated. The only thing I have to do is add the link to my YouTube video. It provides a guest profile. It registers my guests with a consent form. And it provides a beautiful mini-site. When directing people to my podcast, I direct them to my Podpage site, not my Wordpress page and certainly not BuzzSprouT

The idea of having a fuller website just for the podcast is appealing as we grow and try to build community. We looked at other services to compare and some are impressive but their interfaces felt complicated. Buzzsprout is good for what it is, a host. Podpage is helping usher our podcast to the next level.

Podpage offers a more personal and professional customized podcast website presence, than Buzzsport, which I was using. I also liked the added features not found on many podcast hosting sites, specifically the way Podpage markets your podcast on the internet

I never really had an official podcast website before Podpage. I’ve decided to look into it since one of the podcasters I really trust recommended it, and I was pleasantly surprised wih the simplicity - both in terms od website design and the editing process. I needed something simple and effective; a hub for my podcast which makes it more legitimate and discoverable.

We swapped from Buzzsprout because the design was better, and the set up was extremely simple and mostly automatic!

Podpage provided the template for our website and it was so quick and easy to customise it with the colours, fonts and images we wanted. We also didn’t want to have to worry about pushing our podcast episodes across to our website every time we posted. Setting up our Podpage website to automatically bring our episodes across was a lifesaver. Plus the ability to show our episodes in whatever order we wanted was a great feature too! Oh and did we mention it’s so affordable!

It was the automation that drove me immediately to Podpage: It picks up everything from Buzzsprout on an ongoing basis! I'd only recently subscribed to a major website host (because Buzzsprout's just offers one page), and it would have been cheaper than Podpage, but it would have meant manually updating my website every time an episode is released or a modification made. Podpage simply does it all in the background. I love it.

Podpage had far more features (than Buzzsprout's website) that allowed more listeners to find the podcast, leave reviews and voicemail.

Podpage made building a presence online so easy. Setting up the webpage was streamlined, with clear directions and at an affordable price. I wanted to be able to connect with my listeners, which Podpage facilitates with ease. I would recommend Podpage to anyone getting into podcasting.

Buzzsprout only offers a place to listen to my podcast and does not include customizations that make my podcast stand out. I was referred to Podpage and knew immediately that this was the kind of landing place my platform needed! Plus it has given me the ability to blog and share my thoughts with the world via the written form and I’ve fallen in love with doing so!

Top 3 reasons why podcasters choose Podpage

We asked podcasters why they chose Podpage over Buzzsprout for their podcast website. These were the top reasons.
1

Automation

Podpage automatically updates your website with your latest episodes, show notes, reviews, video, and more.

Updating my website each time I launched a new episode created yet another barrier around publishing new episodes. The ease & automation of Podpage along with knowing it focuses on SEO for me made it a no-brainer.

The website design is absolutely gorgeous. Seriously, it looks as if it came from a top graphic design firm in NYC and cost a small fortune. Everybody who sees my website comments on it.
