Filled their life with work identity without tools to navigate other aspects of life, hard for a retired person to assimilate, at a loss of how to behaveCourage to express their feelings, share the depth of love but also frustration, anger and regret, defend themselves instead of giving their power away to others, anguish caused never communicated. Why bother, what’s the point? SPEAK UP so you don’t carry it with youI wish I had kept in better touch with my friends, they wanted to reminisce, we live through shared memories, loved ones were living in grief before the person was even gone. Friends allow this more than family. Regret they hadn’t reached out. They feel stupid if they try to track down an old mate, lack of courage, fear that friend will they they are stupidI wish I had LET myself be happier. They hadn’t realized happiness was a choice, unrealistic to deny pain but worry and opinion of others had taken away their happiness.
