0:01 I drove from North Carolina to Dallas to meet a stranger who also happened to be one of my best friends, but we had never met in person. I flew to Utah to meet a stranger who also happened to be one of my best friends. I hadn't met them in person either. I have successfully maintained a six year and a ten year friendship solely on social media. Nothing about what I said sounds abnormal. Friendships and other forms of relationships developing through social media has become a defining part of all of our lives. And on my new podcasts across social media lines, I talk to people who have developed deep, meaningful relationships purely through social media, like a shy gamer who used social media to come out of her shell, or a woman who lost her job and then became a social media brand expert, or two longtime friends meeting in person for the very first time.
