0:15 Hey everyone, welcome back to CrimeWire Weekly, a look at the topics for today. And we're going to start out in Louisiana with a Pier Park man who is accused of using AI to generate sexual deep fakes of a co-worker. And we have been saying that's going to happen, I think, since the beginning of this argument, and it just keeps happening. Yeah. In Georgia, a missing DoorDash mom is identified after her family tracks her phone and finds her dismembered remains. Two more sentenced in a massive multi-state Walmart fraud scheme that hit more than 100 stores, including those right here in the state of Louisiana. The Caleb Flynn murder trial verdict is in. Have you been following that case?
0:59 I have. I've been pretty invested. I feel like that's a good one. That would be a good story. Yeah. Yeah. It's gotten all the headlines lately, and they do have a verdict. We'll talk about that. Lustful lawbreakers. You know, you're just going to have to hear this one, y'all. But let's just say it involves a pantless airline passenger. I love it. It's going to be good. That'll keep you on the hook. In Seattle, a woman is attacked by a total stranger who bites a chunk of flesh from her forehead. Total stranger. Yeah. I'm built like a pug because how do you bite one's forehead? I feel like my face is too flat to get a good grab on someone's forehead.
1:40 I don't know. Maybe, I guess they were taller than the person. That'd be the first thing I'd think. In Florida, a plastic surgeon who represented himself in a murder trial is found guilty. Another reason you never represent yourself. We'll talk about that. Fast food chaos returns when Wendy's employees attack a fellow co-worker. We've got that on the menu. True Crime Time Machine is going way back, way back, maybe further back than ever for the most entertaining story of the day, I predict. You think? I predict. All right. I'm excited to hear it. All right. A Pittsburgh pediatrician is killed in a home invasion.
2:22 And this is just an absolutely horrible story. This guy everybody loved. Home invasion. His family runs out of the house. He fights the intruder and is killed during this. Horrible story, but you got to hear about it. And we're going to do our best to honor this guy. 12 teens shot at a Georgia birthday party. I don't even know how that goes together. Like that statement. A birthday party and 12 people are shot. Yeah. Teenagers. This is all, always it seems to involve like teens in parties. Yeah. A Florida road rage case turns a jar of mayonnaise into a deadly weapon charge. I believe it. I believe it. I had some road rage yesterday. I did. An Airbnb renter in Fort Lauderdale shoots an armed intruder during a home invasion in his house. So unlike the other story in this story, the the occupant actually fought back and won.
3:15 Yeah. So we're going to talk about that as well. Let's get into it with CrimeWire Weekly. I'm Jim Chapman. And I'm Kelly Jennings. Kelly, any thoughts before we get into today's episode? I have lots of thoughts. I had my own road rage yesterday, y'all. I got honked at and I did not appreciate it. And I had to calm myself down. Yeah. I've never seen someone so mad at getting honked at. And it wasn't because they thought she was cute either. No. It's because they thought she was texting. Yeah. I took off too slow from the red light, apparently, to appease this person. And so they laid on their horn and threw their hands up. And I thought, I am nuts, and I have got to work really hard to not be crazy, and you are testing it today.
3:57 Yeah, and you can tell them it was a popo. It was a popo. It was the popo. And I back the popos. I love the police. Don't be honking at me. Yeah, well, more on that later. We'll get into today's first story, and this happened right here around the Baton Rouge area in Pierport. A Pierport man is wanted on a felony warrant, and actuallyâ He's since been, since I've written this article, he has been caught, but he was wanted on a felony warrant after police said he used AI to create nude images and sexually explicit video of a female coworker and then shows it to her. Well, why not? During, during, apparently they rode together to work and he turns to her and says, look what I made.
4:41 I was wondering, how does that conversation come up? Oh, look, here you are. I have no idea, but he definitely misread that friendship. Because he was probably like, oh, we're friends. She'll think it's funny. For the record, you make an AI of me. I'm going to be mad. If it doesn't look good. Bennett Gocho. Yeah, you'd be worried about what you look like in it. I would. Make me look better if you're going to make me nude. Well, I did one of those stupid things one time where it makes a video of you and everyone's was normal. And then when it did mine, I think I showed it to you. It turned me into a stripper and butt cheeks came out. Do you remember that? I was like, what in the world? All right. So we're going to talk about Bennett Gocho, who is 55. He's accused of one count of unlawful defakes under Louisiana law.
5:22 And that's a brand new law, y'all. An arrest warrant was filed in East Baton Rouge Parish. The BRPD opened the investigation after the woman reported allegations of this occurring. According to the warrant, Gaucher and this person were co-workers. They commuted together to work. And during one of these trips, she told investigators he showed her several AI-generated images of depicting her nude and a video depicting the two of them in a simulated sex act. Oh, my God. She said none of it was real and that she never consented to the use of her likeness. That gives a whole new meaning to NIL.
6:04 I was going to say, get me an NIL deal. Just pay me. The woman recorded what she was shown on her own cell phone and later turned it over to police. So she probably was like, oh, let me see that. I think that's cool and planned it off. Investigators viewed the material, said it included AI-generated nude images of a woman and and images placing her and Gautreaux in several situations that did not occur. Police said messages indicated that this guy knew he had the files and stored them on his phone and in iCloud storage tied to the website used to create them. One message quoted in the warrant said, I will delete most, but I love the image of me and you. Another said, all the stuff of you I deleted as you wished. Investigators said he later claimed He deleted the images of his phone from the site's cloud service. The warrant also stated that he had previously expressed a romantic or sexual interest in the co-worker, you think? The workplace was not named in public reports, and the woman has not been identified, obviously, because, you know, she doesn't need to be identified. Louisiana's unlawful deepfake statute makes it a crime to knowingly share, show, or distribute sexually explicit deepfake images or videos of another person without that person's consent. Under the law, a deepfake is digitally created or altered audio, video, or imagery made
7:35 to look like an authentic recording. And he can get 10 to 30 years of prison and a fine of up to 50 grand for this. And he has been caught. I'm curious how I would like to follow this one and see what the penalty ends up being. I am curious to see if they are going to. really go hard at this from the jump to make sure people understand that it's not a joke and we're not playing? Or if they're going to kind of go, okay, we only showed it to her and this is frowned upon and you shouldn't do that and we're going to give you, you know, 60 days in jail and a year suspended sentence and let him walk on it. I am curious. I think they're going to throw the book at him pretty good here because. Do you think it's worth 10 years of your life?
8:16 It's AI involved and... I don't think it's worthâ I hate to say I don't think it's worth 30 years. I think it's a horrible act. Yeah. But I think he needs to do some jail time. Yeah. You know, ifâ Some good jail time. I do, too. You know? I don't know that 10 yearsâ because that's the minimum, right? 10 to 30? 10 to 30. Is that what it said? I'm just going to say because it was an adult, and it seems like just based off what we know here, he only showed it to her, which is totally inappropriate. I'm not saying in any way, shape, or form any of this was right. But, you know, 10 to 30 years for that. And, you know, I like punishment for bad behavior, but damn, 30 years seems a bit extreme for that. He should learn his lesson. He should do jail time.
9:01 I guess they're trying so hard to discourage it that they figure we tax. A bunch of years on there, so they might think twice. Yeah. Well, and it's one of those things where I guess the details matter. The details in this matter. I would be so pissed if that was like a child or something. It would make me even more angry. I don't know how to explain it. Yeah. Well, obviously. Yeah. I mean, that's really horrible. Yeah. But crazy situation. I just couldn't imagine the conversation on the way to work where you're likeâ Hey, check this out. Doesn't this look real? Right. And you're over there like, what the hell is going on? Now, look, we didn't put this one in the preview because I threw it in last minute and that's okay. But I got to talk to you all about this because the court has halted the execution of Krista Pike. And this was a huge case for a murder that she committed when she was 18 years old in Tennessee. So her execution was halted on Wednesday, about an hour before it was set to begin as a federal appeals court sought to review whether her allegations of childhood sexual abuse and rape were fully considered at her sentencing. Now, Pike is 50 years old today, and her boyfriend was also convicted in the 1995 stabbing and beating of 19-year-old Colleen Slimmer, who was their classmate at a job training facility in Knoxville.
10:20 If this would have gone through, Christo would have been the first woman executed in Tennessee in at least 200 years. So it was kind of a big deal that this was going to go down. So the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals halted the execution on a two-to-one vote. After execution, witnesses and others gathered at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville. Tennessee's attorney general immediately appealed the stay invalid. to the U.S. Supreme Court. Witnesses and media remained at the prison in case the high court allows the execution to proceed. Media witnesses were brought into the prison about 10.15 a.m. to wait, but then were led back out into a parking lot after about 90 minutes. More than 30 people, some wearing shirts that said Love Heels, gathered in a fenced-in area outside of the prison while police on horses watched nearby. The case garnered widespread attention at the time of the killing in part because a pentagram of was what was carved into Slimmer's body and other elements of the crime stoked fears of Satan worship during the satanic panic of the 80s and the 90s.
11:18 And this does go on to give a whole bunch of, you know, details about the case. If you want to hear everything that happened On my Unspeakable show, it was back in January. It's called the Knoxville Nightmare, Krista Pike. Yeah, there's a couple of Knoxville Nightmares. We accidentally named two of them, the Knoxville Nightmare. I like that name so much. Yeah, it's a good one. Good job, Jeff. I'm going to name all of them Knoxville Nightmare. And you're like, it happened in Florida. Why are you doing that? Anyway, but there's this whole thing that really upsets me about it because the victim's motherâ says that she was waiting for this death sentence and she wanted the lethal injection to go forward. And she has waited decades to see this carried out. Every time I think about it, I think about Colleen feeling that pain and trying to get up and run. And that's May Martinez, her mother. She said that there was a group that helped to raise money so she and her husband could travel to Florida or from Florida to witness the execution.
12:14 And then they do this stay. She hasn't commented yet on that. But she says not a day goes by or a minute goes that I don't think about Colleen holidays are the worst. And she said, my daughter would have turned 51 in early September. Wow. This is just sick. And you know, you brought up a good point. We talked about this a little bit off camera and you brought up the fact that, you know, the crazy thing is everybody's made arrangements. They're there. I mean, you mentioned the press was already on site and, uh, and they halt this thing. And look, I, it's true that there have been exonerations at the last minute and people, uh, have been exonerated by DNA and things like that. And they, they were on death row waiting to get executed. Yes.
13:01 There are, uh, situations where that happened. I've covered several of those on bloody Angola, but, um, this ain't one of them. This ain't one of them would be the number one thing. And the number two thing is, uh, this girl has been on death row for how long Kelly? Yeah, this has been going on for 20 years, 20 plus years. She was 18 when it happened. She's 50 now. And I cannot grasp. I understand procedurally. And I get it, y'all. I know there's a reason why. It's the Supreme Court and all the rules and everything's are in place. But you've had 20 plus damn years to figure this out. And then one hour before, I kind of feel like that's a spat in the face. And I know it's unintentional. I know it's not the court's you know, that's not what they're meaning to do here. And I do weigh heavily that this is a life, okay, that we are executing a human being and that it should never be taken lightly. But you've had from the age of 18 to 50 to get this squared away.
13:56 Yeah. And I just think it's a slap in the face. And I feel so horrible for Colleen's mother. Yeah, I really do too. And you had mentioned it was a two to one vote. So it was a two to one to execute or a two-to-one not to execute? To stay. The stay of execution. Two-to-one to stay. Yeah. Okay. Now, they also haven't said how long that's going to be. I mean, they may say it's back on tomorrow. No, Supreme Court would have to make that ruling? Okay. And so the other thing, too, here that frustrates me is that part ofâ so Colleen's skull was put into evidence, okay, because her skull was bashed in, and then Kristaâ picked out a piece of her skull out of her brains and blood after she bashed her head open, went and washed it off at a gas station, and then kept it as a souvenir. And so Colleen's mother, from that perspective, has not gotten to properly bury her daughter in whole.
14:52 You know, because her daughter's head is still in evidence. And now with this day of execution, she was looking forward to getting the rest of her daughter back. Yeah. That's shocking. This girl gets all the damn... benefits of everything. And then when Krista went to prison, she tried to kill somebody else. She got another charge. This is not someone to be rehabilitated. And they're just going to look back and say, oh, she may have been sexually assaulted as a child. I don't say that that doesn't matter. That absolutely matters in people's lives. But at this point, really? Yeah. There you have it. All right, let's go on to the next story. And this is going to be a little viral villainy because this case is absolutely the most viral case of the past week. And it involves a former American Idol contestant called Caleb Flynn. Massive trial has taken place and he has been found guilty of murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn, as well as all other charges.
15:53 This was Tuesday of this week. after prosecutors argued he fatally shot her and staged the scene to look like an intruder hit. A pastor, right? Yes. A pastor doing this. Okay, just making sure. The jury found Flynn, who is 40, guilty of all nine charges, including aggravated murder, felony murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. He shook his head, sobbed, and wiped his nose as the guilty verdict was read. He was then put into handcuffs and escorted out of the courtroom. He faces a sentence of life in prison without parole. and a hearing is set for October 5th. The jury deliberated only for about two hours before reaching the verdict, so they were pretty convinced. Now, the case stems from the early morning hours of February 16th. Flynn calls 911, says that his wife Ashley has been shot in their home in Ohio, and he said an intruder had done it.
16:46 Police allege Flynn murdered his wife, staged a crime scene, and pointed to an affair with a fellow worship leader at his church, as a motive. And she testified, and that's some interesting testimony there. During the trial, jurors visited the family home, watched police body cam footage from the night of her death, and heard Flynn's messages to his 24-year-old mistress. I was up till 4 a.m. last night crying, literally thinking of ways to kill her and not go to jail. Flynn wrote in a message to his mistress. This was in August of 2025. The prosecution said Vlim wanted to frame a faceless intruder for his wife's killing in order to keep the relationship with the mistress, full custody of his two daughters and his lucrative job at his wife's family business and his position as a worship leader.
17:39 The evidence does not lead to some intruder who vanished into the night. That's what the estate was basically putting out there. And in the defense closing, attorney Patrick Mulligan said prosecutors proved Flynn had an affair, but they did not prove he killed his wife and he netted a missing murder weapon. Well, I mean, you can get rid of a murder weapon. Right. This simply is proven versus not proven. And so he's saying it's a lot of circumstantial evidence. Well, you can be found guilty in a completely circumstantial case, i.e. Alec Murdoch. I mean, just beyond a reasonable doubt. It's not absolute certainty.
18:20 So you can have some minor I'm-not-sure's here and there, but if you're over 95% certain, you're there. Yeah, that's right. Well, for those curious, Flynn had a short stint on the show American Idol 13 years ago, and that was kind of the, I guess, the clickbait for this case, if you will. That's always mentioned, but it's not like he went to the final 10 or anything like that. But it was unique, and it was great for clickbait, and that kind of got the case kicked off. Of course, Ashley's family was thrilled at the verdict, although nothing can bring her back. They said that nothing can erase the pain that the family has endured. The family believes they said in a statement that Ashley will not be defined by her life ending, describing her as a woman who loved Jesus with her whole heart and loved being a mother. Yeah.
19:13 And then this guy is up parading around as a worship leader. And then texting his lover, he's crying about ways to kill his wife. If you looked up douche canoe, this guy's picture is right there. I'm telling you, it is. He wrote songs to her and played them for her. They played it in court. It was so cringe. I was like, oh, woof. Yeah, he looked like a snake, too. I mean, this guy looked, if you look up someone who's just sleazy looking in the dictionary. That's what that reminded me of. well and the mistress was a very attractive young woman okay well here's i'm like why would she be interested in this dude he's got you know the toupee haircut i call it yeah.
19:56 But did you did you i would be so embarrassed if i was her for a multitude of reasons but when they first started Cheating together. He had his hair and he did he looked handsome. He really did look the part But then not only was he fighting for his life in that courtroom But his hairline is fighting for its life if that is the guy That you have to read the messages are so cringe that are back and forth the only is so gross It is so gross. Well, and look I have people say you're so mean talking about how somebody looks well He earned it. He earned it. He wanted his wife dead while he's up on stage singing to Jesus and And behind closed doors, he's acting like that. There's one person I did feel really my heart hurt for because I do have compassion for people. And that was his poor old daddy. I sat in that courtroom because he was not, Caleb Flynn was not worried about stealing the mother from his daughters.
20:48 He wasn't worried about, you know. No, he like hated her. I mean, you know, according to the messages. And of course, you're going to tell your mistress in his case, you're going to tell your mistress some, Bullshit. You may overplay. Your pickup line. I can't wait to kill her. Yeah. I mean, if you're that unhappy, just leave your wife, dude. You ain't going to kill her. I know. It's like these guys are so, I don't, it doesn't happen as often with women, but with men, especially like you see these. It's lust and it's greed. Everything that he wanted. To stand up. I know. It isn't that hard. It is not that hard. And then, but, but I just, I watched his daddy. sobbing in the pews. And I'm sorry, if that doesn't hurt your heart, even though he's the bad guy, his parents didn't do this. You know, they're just victims.
21:40 That's right. They're just other victims of this. And they're in a tough spot. You're going to love your kid no matter what they do. No matter what. Right. Right. And so he just made victims all around. Yeah. Primarily his wife, but then the ripple effect. So yeah, it's a big case. If you haven't watched it, go watch you some TikToks. That's right. Are you going to do a case on that at some point? Yeah, I do. I do plan on it. But I'm still elbow deep in Lindsey Clancy. I know that that one's wrapped up. But for me, it's not because I dig deep when I'm telling these stories. Dig deep. All right. We know, if you're a fan of the show, you know that Jim hates Marketplace and I hate DoorDash. Well, today, here's another reason why I hate DoorDash. All right. So relatives searching for a missing 26-year-old mother tracked her phone to an apartment complex Wednesday evening and later found her dismembered torso in a plastic tub after watching an 18-year-old resident drop a bag and run. Police have since charged that teen with malice murder. The victim has been identified as Shantaria, and it says her nickname here is Tia Mosley.
22:45 She left home on Wednesday morning, September 23rd, and relatives couldn't reach her later in the day. So they followed her phone to Park Valley Apartments. They found her car, and then they began knocking on doors and searching the grounds. Officers first responded after a report that her phone and her vehicle were at the complex. An officer stayed about 30 minutes knocking on doors and then ended up leaving. Family members kept looking. Two hours later, police were called back. Mosley's aunt, Michelle Weaver, said she saw Kingston Lamar Bradley, 18 years old, carrying what looked like a laundry bag with a container inside. He kind of threw it and he ran, was her quote. An arrest warrant names Weaver as a witness and alleges Bradley dropped the tub on a dirt walkway when he realized that he had been seen.
23:29 Investigators found a dismembered torso inside and relatives said they recognized that this was Mosley by a tattoo. Bradley was first charged with concealing the death of another and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center after detectives executed a search warrant Friday on a vehicle and found garbage bags in the trunk. One pulled tight around the outline of a body part. This is according to the Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office, who then confirmed that those were additional remains. Police then added a malice murder charge. Bradley is being held without bond. A warrant cited by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Mosley's torso had lacerations and stab wounds and that Bradley's apartment contained copious amounts of blood consistent with murdering and then dismembering the body, along with a large bloody saw, a mop, a bucket of water, a carpet cleaner, and the strong smell of bleach. It does not take a genius to figure out what went on here.
24:25 Police later said that they believe Mosley was killed between 10 a.m. and noon on Wednesday. No 911 calls about screaming or other disturbances came from the complex during that window. Lieutenant Meredith Holt called the case a particularly gruesome crime and shocking and said investigators are still working to determine how Bradley and Mosley knew each other and whether anyone else was involved. We are continuing to do interviews to see if there are any other possible suspects. Family members said Mosley had been working as a DoorDash driver, and DoorDash said there was no evidence she made a delivery to the address where she was found. Police said company records showed she was not even logged in or accepting orders that day. So that'll be interesting. You know, and it's crazy. You don't normally see teenagers doing the dismembering stuff.
25:10 He also doesn't look 18. No. He looks a solid 30. He looks a solid 30, and he looks kind. Of mean sometimes. Looking at the picture of him, if you're watching this on Patreon, you'll see that. But you never see him that young, really dismembering. That's what surprised me so much about his age. Horrific. And then that's his own apartment that he's able to do this in? Like, that's just interesting to me. You're 18 in your own apartment? And then somebody notices you taking out the trash and imagine the shock. When it's your family looking for that body. Wow. Yeah. All right, Kelly, let's go into... Lustful Lawbreakers. Whoa. Mmm.
25:50 Mmm. All right. And this one right here, y'all, we're, you know, if you got young kids in the room, definitely. Anytime you hear lustful lawbreakers, get them out of there and turn the volume down. If I start purring, that's your sign. That's our covert sign, guys. That's our covert sign. But we're going to go to Maryland. And, well, we're actually going to go to the Florida area. But this is a Maryland bartender that we're going to tell you about who allegedly took off her pants and began masturbating on an American Airlines flight en route to Miami.
26:34 And nothing gets me hotter than being up in the air. She was excited to go, apparently. My gosh. So she told police that she had consumed several drinks before boarding the aircraft, and she just couldn't recall what occurred during the trip because she fell asleep. So police at Miami International Airport, they were dispatched earlier this month to meet with a plane arriving around 11 p.m. from Baltimore in reference to a female causing a disturbance on the flight. I'm sure that's how they put it. Flight attendant Gabriel Barrio told cops that he was approached 20 minutes into the flight by a 61-year-old male passenger. 61. I bet he was like... It took me 61 years to witness this on a plane. So he goes up to the flight attendant and he reports that the woman in seat 9D had removed her pants and began to actively masturbate while making inappropriate sounds.
27:33 When Harry met Sally, isn't that the movie where she starts? Yeah. Could have been on a plane. So Berrios said he then approaches the woman who identified herself as 46-year-old Katie Eisner and he instructed her to put her pants back on. Eisner... So he also added that she complied without further incident and eventually fell asleep for the remainder of the flight. Now, the male passenger, Alexander Picardo, provided cops with a written statement corroborating the account of the flight attendant saying, of the events. And during a police interview, Eisner pictured above, and if you're watching this on Patreon, you see it. She had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages and she had bloodshot eyes. Eisner said in her departure from Baltimore, it had been delayed for two hours.
28:24 As a result, she had several drinks before boarding the flight. As for the high-altitude masturbation, she stated she doesn't remember what occurred because she fell asleep. Must have been a hell of a dream. Or she was nice and relaxed. Right. Since the incident occurred in flight, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office made the jurisdictional determination that the FBI should be handling this one. Can you imagine the FBI getting involved in your masturbation case? Yeah. Oh, my God. So they did. They forwarded the report to the Bureau. And get this, no charges have been filed yet against her. I guess they're investigating. She works at a bar and grill in Maryland's Eastern Shore. And in a Facebook post two days after the airplane incident, Eisner, who is a divorced mother of several children, posted photos from the Sunshine State vacation that she took with the caption, God gives us tiny love letters called clouds, flowers, and rain.
29:21 So she's a little deep for someone that thinks it's a great idea to get off on a plane. But that is your lustful lawbreakers for today. I would hope someone would just end me if that made national news. that I was. I mean, you know, and look, have you ever been on a flight and seen someone drunk? Yeah. I mean, like you knew this person is smashed on the flight. I knew they were drinking. I could smell alcohol in the person next to me, but like they weren't doing that kind of stuff. I was coming back. from Chicago for a company trip one time. And a girl got on the flight. She was alone. And there wasn't very many of us on this flight. It was like a connecting flight in a smaller plane. And when I tell you she was smashed forever, whole flight i'm thinking that girl's been roofied she was that smashed and she's like sitting there trying to talk to me and introduce herself and it's like so lushy she's like.
30:25 Oh wow and i'm like hi what are you flying for and i'm like i don't want to talk to you i'm trying to get home i'm tired and but she was lushy drunk man and i'm thinking This is how. Shit like this happens right here. I wonder if it's the same lady. I have to look at her again. You missed out, man. I have so much anxiety. Where was my show? I know, right? I have so much anxiety when flying because I don't like not being in control of myself and flying scares me. And like when someone else is flying the plane, I feel like I've given up control of my life. But 9-11 also hit me kind of hard. I don't know. I've been scared of flying since I was a kid. Um, so I do usually drink one or two before I get on the plane, but that's so that I can like, like relax.
31:14 Seriously. Yeah. Like it's a relaxing drink. Yeah. It's not six or seven crown and cokes. Yeah. I'm not trying to like strip in the clouds, you know? Oh yeah. The one on my plane was smashed, bro. She, you'd have thought she went to a Superbowl party. She was like four drinks past her limit. Wow. And I bet that lady was probably similar. Yeah. Well, ma'am. I hope the FBI doesn't get you on your public masturbation. I'll keep everybody posted. All right. So two Michigan men have been sentenced in federal court here after a nearly two-year scheme that prosecutors say used fake payment cards, bogus former employee stories, and return for cash refunds to take more than $ 340, 000 from Walmart stores in more than 15 states. including locations, which these are local to us, in Gonzales and Broussard. Malik Stoddard, 25, of Flint, Michigan, was sentenced Monday to 21 years in federal prison. Dondrell LaWayne Smith, 25, of Mount Morris, Michigan, previously received 35 months. Both were also given three years of supervised release. Stoddard was ordered to pay $ 180, 676. 53 in restitution.
32:21 53 cents. Right? I love that. Smith was ordered to pay $ 167, 802. 52, and so combined, the court ordered repayments total nearly of $ 350, 000. The sentences were announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Louisiana, and Smith pled guilty in late 2025 to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and was sentenced in February by a U.S. District Judge, Brian Jackson. Now, Stratter's sentencing... closed the case this week. Prosecutors said the operation ran from September of 21 through August of 23, and they hit more than 101 Walmart stores. The pair and co-conspirators rented cars in the Flint area and drove from state to state targeting high-value merchandise, including electronics. The method was simple and repeatable. They presented fraudulent cash cards that looked like ordinary debit or credit cards but had no value.
33:18 When the cards declined at checkout, they told cashiers they were former Walmart employees and instructed them to enter manual override codes that processed the sale as a cash payment. The store then printed a receipt showing cash had been tendered. The men walked out with the merchandise and later used those receipts to return the items for cash at other Walmart locations, which begs the question, though, wouldn't your till be off if you said you had a cash. Yeah, but they wouldn't find that out until the end of the night. They need some better training on their employees then. Yeah, well, you should never listen to the customer. I know. They say, I don't care. I work for Walmart. Trust me. Here's a stick. It's worth 50 grand. Just put that stick in there. Jeez. Louisiana was one of the stops. In August of 23, they completed seven fraudulent transactions at the Walmart in Gonzales, taking more than $ 6, 500 in merchandise. And then the next day is when they returned it for cash at stores in and around Broussard. Federal officials described the intended loss at more than $ 340, 000. And it just kind of goes on to say that this case is one of the several large retail fraud prosecutions involving Walmart stores in recent years.
34:22 But this one was built on social engineering at the register rather than concealment of merchandise or card skimming. By posing as insiders and walking cashiers through override codes, the defendants turned a declined card into a cash sale receipt and then into a refund. Yeah, it's actually a pretty genius idea from the stamp, obviously. I mean, it worked on 101 stores before they got caught. That is unbelievable. And I'm not giving these guys props for being so smart. They found out a way to game the system and it worked. $ 340, 000 they were able to get away with before they got caught. It's unbelievable to me. especially somewhere like Walmart, because their loss control department, I'm sure, is no joke.
35:09 Yeah. I mean, I've been accused of stealing from Walmart multiple times. By the way, I didn't. And I was like, why do I get stopped? Like, it's so weird. That's why. Yeah, but I got told I had a bunch of high-dollar meats. That was the excuse the last time. Well, you should have told them I worked for Walmart in the past, and all you got to do is let me go out. This stick is worth all this high-dollar meats from Walmart? That's right. I was like, okay. Trying to get some filet mignon when you ain't paid for it. Okay. All right. Let's go to Clearwater, Florida. And we're going to go to our favorite county. What's our favorite county in Florida? You got to know this.
35:51 Our favorite county. We talk about. Stuff going down. Oh, oh, oh. It's two word. No, it's one word. Pinellas County. Pinellas County. Oh, Pinellas County. I was thinking King County because we always have a lot of stuff. Pinellas is wildin'. Yeah. I mean, any day of the week you can pull up an article from Pinellas. And it's pretty wild. Pinellas be wildin'.. This one no different. A judge has found a former plastic surgeon, y'all. His name is Tomas Kowalski, guilty of first degree murder in the killing of a Largo attorney by the name of Stephen Cozzi. who vanished from his law office in March of 2023 and whose body has never been found. Judge Joseph Bologna delivered the... I knew you were going to say something. Bologna?
36:36 Like the high dollar meat? When she hears funny names, she turns 16 again. Yeah, but is he full of bologna? Is it spelled like that? See what I'm saying? No, it's B-U-L-O-N-E. Oh. Bologna. He delivered the verdict Wednesday, September 23rd. after taking 15 minutes to consider the evidence. 15 minutes. This was a judge verdict. This is not a jury involved in this. Yeah, a whole 15 minutes. Kowalski, who represented himself and is 47 years old throughout the bench trial, that's what it's called technically, waived a jury and sat largely expressionless in an orange jumpsuit after the verdict was announced. He now faces life in prison or possibly the death penalty. And this is Florida.
37:18 They don't play. The trial began September 14th, more than three years after Kazi disappeared from a law office. Prosecutors said the killing grew out of a civil dispute in which Kazi represented defendants that were sued by Kowalski over medical billing and an online review. They described Kowalski as having developed a malicious and personal obsession with the lawyer, threatening him, stalking him, and ultimately planning the violent attack. On the morning of March 21st, 2023, these two were scheduled for a teleconference. Prosecutors said that Kowalski arrived early, entered unnoticed, attacked Kazi in the restroom, and hauled him out of the building in a wagon covered with a blanket.
38:05 Kazi left behind his phone's key and wallet. Colleagues later found the bathroom spattered with blood and DNA testing matched Kazi. Surveillance video included footage pieced together from Phlox license plate cameras showed a man pulling a wagon from the firm, loading its contents into a vehicle, and traveling to Kowalski's Tarpon Springs home. Prosecutors said DNA consistent with Kazi was later found in the garage. So they had. Yeah. I mean, he was dead to rights. Yeah. The crazy thing is they never found the body, but sometimes you don't need a body. They say you have to have a body to have a murder.
38:45 No, you don't. Apparently not. Not when it's all in a bathroom. I was going to say, if you have enough blood that's inconsistent or incompatible with life, you really don't. And there's a lot of water around there, but. Yeah. And this is, I did want to say this before you get on to your point. This is, uh, a prototypical case of someone that is really full of themselves because this guy was so arrogant. Not only did he think he was going to get away with this, which is obvious he wasn't, but he represents himself in a murder trial. I was going to say that. He thinks he's smarter than everybody else. Absolutely. And that was actually what my comment was going to be, is that this is indicative of a sociopath. This is someone that, you know, thinks that, again, that he knows just because you think you're smart doesn't mean you know the rules of law and the rules of evidence.
39:31 And so I'm interested, though, if he faces the death penalty, how he was able to represent himself, because usually you have to have some type of experience to work. Yeah, I know. He also had a death penalty case with a I didn't know you could do that with a bench trial. And he did. Yeah, you have a right. I didn't. Well, I guess you can ask a judge for anything. Well, you have the right to a jury trial if you want to, but you can choose a bench trial. Which is what he did. For a death penalty case? Which is dumb. Right. Because it would be, you have one person to try to convince or lose the case versus 12. Wouldn't you want to spread it out, the odds? Not if you're him. Because that's how arrogant this sumbitch is. Yeah. You're an idiot. To be a doctor, though, like- And not only a.
40:14 Doctor, a plastic surgeon. I mean, they're pretty smart doctors. Yeah. But he's arrogant as hell. You can look at him and see that sucker thing. Yeah, he's like, what? What do you mean? What are you talking about? I killed somebody. All I do is breast implants. Get out of here. His blood was, how did my blood get here and there? I don't know. I was doing surgery in the bathroom. That's why his blood was there. Yeah. Totally sterile. Y'all stupid. I'm the plastic surgeon here. Anyway, sorry, y'all. Okay, that's okay. A little stem moment there. That's okay. We stemmed. We stemmed right there together. My melt, my melt. All right, let's talk about our foreheads, Jimothy. All right. It is not the ideal location to be bit. No. It's right there in the front. All right, a woman walking to a convenience store in downtown Seattle was pulled to the ground by a stranger who called her a, quote, inferior race, end quote, spat on her, and bit a roughly one-inch circle of flesh from her forehead. The suspect has been charged with second-degree assault. A judge this week ordered a competency evaluation. I'd have to agree with that, because you can't be all there wanting to jump and bite foreheads. All right, Diana Gonzalez, 36, told police she was headed towards a 7-Eleven near 3rd Avenue and Marion Street about 3.45 p.m. This is on September 18th, when a woman sitting nearby threw a food wrapper at her.
41:27 When Gonzalez asked why the woman yelled that she was an inferior race, used a homophobic slur and told her she was inferior, according to charging papers and the Seattle Police Department. The woman then stood up, spat on Gonzalez, grabbed her, pulled her down. On the ground, police said she sank her teeth into Gonzalez's forehead above the eyebrow. Now, wait a minute. That would be a good chunk point, right? Because you got kind of that protrusion right there. Mm hmm. Should I try to bite your eye right now? No. Okay, I won't. I would really be stimming today. I know. When your wife would be like, why is your eyebrow gone? Don't worry about it. Yeah, it's Kelly bit me. Show business.
42:09 She does that sometimes, but she's still. All right. Anyway, right above the eyebrow, which is not funny. I'm very sorry. And tore out a chunk of flesh about an inch across. I can't believe she bit a piece of my face off, Gonzalez told Como News. That's the main thing that is still shocking. She later described the wound as looking like a zombie bite in a movie, like it's a full circle. She said she expects a permanent scar. She was treated at Harborview Medical Center and underwent a skin graft. A fundraiser has been started to help with her medical bills and time off of work. Now, a nearby witness, including a hotel valet, according to local reports, tried to pull the attacker off. The suspect fled. The witness chased her and flagged down a King County marshal at the courthouse. Officers found a bloody sidewalk and a piece of flesh that police said the suspect had spat onto a grate. There's a lot of spatting here. She doesn't try to fight me. She doesn't try to hit me in any other way. She goes straight to biting my forehead. Camilla... Codley, Chadley. I don't know how you would say this. Camilla Chadley, 36, was arrested and booked.
43:12 Court papers say she had been staying at a shelter across the street and had a history of police contacts involving mental health and substance abuse, including a prior assault arrest, but it didn't result in any charges. She's charged with felony second-degree assault and is being held on a $ 150, 000 bail. Seattle police referred the case as a possible hate crime assault. King County prosecutors said that based on the evidence now available, Second degree assault is the charge they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt, though a hate crime count could still be added later. And it goes on to say that there were some requests that were done and that Chad Lee is due back in court on October the 13th. Gonzalez has returned to remote work, but says she has been harassed online over her appearance and feels panic when she sees someone who resembles her attacker. This is my face, she said. I'm going to have a permanent scar.
44:04 And the whole time, first of all, God makes all types, right? I mean, what the heck with going up to somebody and biting them? But y'all don't know that Kelly comes in here to record. And sometimes I think of it as story time with Kelly because every time she walks in here, she's going to have a story for you. And it's going to be the most off-the-wall story you've ever heard. Everything happens to Kelly. It's real. I'm not making it up. That's the thing. She's not making it up. It all happens to Kelly. It does. So I look forward to when she comes in because I'm going to hear something that I'm going to say no way about 10 times. You're lying and all that stuff. And then photo evidence. She's never lying. I'm not lying. No. So I could see you walking in here one day and saying, you're not going to believe this, but I was in the antique district. I was walking down the road and a woman walked up and bit me in the forehead.
44:53 Bit me in the ass. Yeah. And I'd be like, you're lying. And you'd be like, no, I'm not. Here's the police report. And you'd show where you fell. It's real. And you'd have a freaking bandage on your head. That would happen to you. Okay. Case in point. Someone you don't even know. My daughter's hamster got loose in our house. She was gone for three, four days. And I'm like, we'll find the hamster. That's kind of gross, but, you know, it's a hamster. And when I find her yesterday, y'all, she ate my carpet and created a nest built for a damn eagle. Like, my carpet is gone. We need to post that photo. People think I'm joking when I say it. You posted it. No, on our page. Oh. But people think I'm joking until I show the photo, and it is a full-blown feral nest of carpet down to the concrete underneath and the tack strips.
45:37 Yeah. There you go. It's not as cool as being bit on the forehead. That would be a better story. It would be. All right. I'm going to go start something just to get bit. All right, y'all. Let's go on the True Crime Time Machine. All right. I want you all to come with me, okay? And I want y'all to imagine you're in a village in New York. Okay. And it is noon on October 2nd of 1780. So it's a slight breeze and... 1780, too. Many, many moons ago. Mm-hmm. A wagon is sitting under the gallows. A 30-year-old British officer in a scarlet coat with green trim climbs into it himself. He puts a noose around his own neck.
46:20 He ties his own blindfold. He then asks the crowd to remember one thing. I pray you to bear me witness that I meet my fate like a brave man. The wagon then pulls away. And in a moment, Major John Andre, General of the British Army of America, chief of Sir Henry Clinton's intelligence service, and the man who almost handed West Point the crown is dead. This is not a street killing, y'all, or a tavern stabbing. It's a wartime spy case that comes within days of the breaking of the American Revolution. The man the Continentals wanted on a rope was not Andre. It was Benedict Arnold.
47:02 But Arnold got away. Andre did not. So by September of 1780, Major General Benedict Arnold commanded West Point, the fortress that controlled the Hudson River, bitter in debt and secretly negotiating with the British he offered to sell the post. The price discussed was 20,000 euro. The go-between was Major Andre. On the night of September 21st, a boat with muffled oars left the British slope vulture and put Andre ashore near Haverstown to meet Arnold in the dark. They talked through the night. Arnold gave him maps, troops, and a plan for how the British could take the fort. But then things went wrong. American militia cannon fire drove the vulture downriver. Andre couldn't return the way he came. Arnold gave him a pass in the name John Anderson, civilian clothes in the papers. And the name John Anderson. That's a crazy name.
48:04 John Anderson? Yeah, where'd he come up with that? That's awfully American sounding. Benedict, you are now John. No, Andre was now John. I'm sorry, Andre, you are now John. And he hid those in his stockings. Under the laws of war. I just imagined you in stockings and a wig. Yeah. Under the laws of war, a soldier caught out of uniform behind enemy lines with military secrets was not a prisoner. He was a spy. And on the morning of September 23rd, three young militiamen, John Paulding, David Williams, and Isaac Van Wart. Van Wart. See, she can't. It's a name thing, y'all. Any odd name. They halted the nervous traveler near Tarrytown. Andre, thinking they were loyalists, said he was a British officer. They searched him. They found West Point documents in his boots. And he offers a gold watch and money. They refused. George Washington said three days later that the three men had prevented all probability of our suffering. Congress rewarded them. Andre learned of the capture before Washington arrived at West Point. He fled down the Hudson to the Vulture and into British lines, and Andre was taken into custody and locked up. On September 29, 29th, 14 Continental generals led by Nathaniel Green sat as a board of inquiry and Andre did not deny the facts.
49:29 He had come ashore that night to meet Arnold. He had changed clothes inside American lines. He had traveled under the false name with intelligence for the enemy and for that reason, He was sentenced to be hanged like a spy, buoyed above the terror death by the consciousness of life devoted to honorable pursuits and stained with no action that can give me remorse. I trust that the request I make to your excellency at this serious period and which is to soften my last moments will not be rejected. I mean, he's a very wordy fellow. Look, they all were back then. No wonder they talked all night. Like you couldn't say, can I not be hanged? Instead, you go into that.
50:10 How about nah? You know, you could have shortened that, sir. So we asked Washington that, but Washington did not answer. Alexander Hamilton later wrote that a refusal would have been crueler than silence. The laws of nations said that spies were to be hanged, and Washington applied it. On the morning of the 2nd, Andre shaved, he put on his dress uniform sent up from New York, and when he first saw the gallows, witnesses say, he recoiled. I am reconciled to my death, but not to the mode. He then collected himself and said, it will be but a momentary pang. Sergeant James Thatcher, standing in the crowd, watched him step onto the wagon, pin his own arms with a handkerchief, bandaged his own eyes, and slipped the noose over his head without the help of the executioner. Colonel Alexander Scammell asked if he wished to speak. And you know, when Andre speaks, it's.
51:11 Going to be something. Andre needs someone to write this down. So Andre lifts the cloth from his eyes and he asks the witnesses to say he died a brave man. The wagon moved and snap off, you know, he freaking broke his neck. Yeah. Yeah. He was buried at the foot of the gallows in the same uniform and boots, and you can visit that still today. Really? I didn't know that. Arnold lived out the war as a British brigader and died in 1801, Benedict Arnold. His name is still synonym for a traitor. Andre's remains were moved to Westminster Abbey, and American officers who watched the hanging, including Washington's spy chief, wrote that they could barely stand it. The man on the rope was a messenger, but the architect of the plot was already gone. And that is what happened in 1780, which is, I don't know, 240-something years ago today. Dang.
52:10 How about that? I'm having an ADD moment, but anytime I hear Benedict Arnold, I still think about an egg. Why? Because of Eggs Benedict. Oh, my gosh. I spent the whole time thinking about that. Well, if you wonder what's going on between my ears sometimes. I gave you a whole history lesson, and you're thinking about eggs? I don't think about how eggs are cooked. Well, nobody talks like Andrea. It was just a pang, sir. It only lasted a minute. It will only be a pang. It will only be a pang. That's what Krista Pike should say when they execute her. It will only be a pang. All right, let's go to Danville. This is in Illinois. Illinois. A former Danville woman was sentenced last week to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree murder in a May 25 stabbing at a Wendy's restaurant. I feel like we talk about Wendy's every week. We should call it the weekly Wendy's. There's always drama.
53:00 There's always fast food drama. Weren't they tying people up last year? The manager was tying the poor guy up to the fryer last week at Wendy's? I think so. I don't know if it was Wendy's. Oh, I made that up. Allegedly. Okay. Well, in this instance, the prosecutors say that she attacked a former co-worker in a back office and then left the victim bleeding on the floor with a fractured skull. Dang. Tichina or Tichina? Marshall, 29, entered the plea Thursday, September 24th before Vermillion County Judge Karen Wall. Ooh, a judge named Karen? That's like a double whammy. Yeah. Bruh. Okay. The aggravated battery with a deadly weapon count that has also been pending was dismissed as part of the deal.
53:42 Marshall had been scheduled for trial October 13th under Illinois truth and sentencing rules. She must serve 85% of the 12-year term in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by three years of mandatory supervised release. Court records cited locally say that 477 days she already spent in jail, and that will be credited against the sentence. The attack happened on May 26th of 25 at the Wendy's on North Vermillion Street, a location that has since closed. Danville officers found the victim on the floor, stabbed in the head, bleeding uncontrollably and nearly unconscious. Detectives later determined that the victim had been speaking with a manager in a small office when Marshall walked in armed with a knife and said, quote, I am going to kill you, end quote, and then struck the victim at least twice in the face and once on the top of the head. The victim suffered a three. centimeter-deep stab wound to the head and a fractured skull, and the assault was all captured on surveillance video.
54:35 Prosecutors said Marshall, a former co-worker of the victim, had threatened to kill the person about a month earlier while both still worked at the restaurant. No public motive has been released, and the victim has not been identified. It says, I would like to thank the victim for cooperating with our office throughout the criminal justice process, and that was according to the state's attorney, Jacqueline Lacey. And while no sentence can undo the lasting effects caused by this defendant, This prison sentence reflects the violent nature of this attack and the devastating injuries suffered by the victim. Wow. Fast food would be wild as well. It ain't hard to find Wendy's articles. You just want to give up your life to go stab somebody in the head that you worked with at Wendy's? Dude, I'm telling you. I mean, a lot of these cases that we cover, it's the split-second pissed-off reactions.
55:23 It's just people that just have no control in their lives is what that is. Like, this is ridiculous. That's just stupid. Threw her life away for nothing. Threw your own life away, and you're dumb. I'm glad that the victim made it through on that one. Same. Kelly, let's go into overtime. Let's get to the nut cutting. We're going to go into Pennsylvania, and actually, this is no laughing matter. This story's really going to get to you. It touched me when I read it. A children's hospital pediatrician was stabbed to death, and his wife, critically wounded after they awoke to a man in his underwear attacking them in bed with a kitchen knife. Their two children escaped after their mother yelled for them to run. Dr.
56:06 Idris Evans, 46, was a pediatric critical care physician and co-medical director of the hospital's pediatric transport team. His wife, Gina, and he were sleeping in their third floor bedroom when the attack began shortly after midnight on September 24th. Police said the suspect, Elijah Hemingway, who is 32, entered through a rear window, went upstairs, and began stabbing the couple. Gina Evans told detectives the man was psychotic, talked about God, and said he was God. During the struggle, she heard her husband call the attacker Elijah as if he knew him.
56:47 She said she did not recognize the man. The couple fought back. Gina Evans yelled for the children, who were 8 and 12. to flee to a neighbor's house. She later gave the attacker her own car keys when he demanded them, then ran to the neighbor and called 911. Officers arrived at 1230 a.m., found the graphic scene, broken furniture, mirrors, blood on the bed, floor and walls. A large kitchen knife was in the third floor bathroom. Evans was taken to a hospital where he died. Gina Evans was listed in critical condition. and later described as critical but stable and expected to survive. The children, fortunately, were not physically injured.
57:28 A police dog found Hemingway hiding in the neighbor's backyard with cuts on his hands. He told investigators Evans had invited him over hours earlier, then attacked him with a Michael Myers-style knife. He said that he was stabbed in the back, disarmed Evans, and stabbed with knives. and then stabbed, basically stabbed him back. This guy's full of shit, obviously. Detectives wrote that he had no stab wounds on his back and could not explain where he had met Evans. Assistant Superintendent Victor Joseph said it was a very violent scene and police are trying to determine whether the two men knew each other. Hemingway was charged with homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and all kinds of other stuff. He's being evaluated at a mental hospital currently. On Saturday, police added rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, robbery, and sexual assault charges from an alleged attack on a woman walking about 14 hours before the stabbing.
58:28 Oh, my God. Is that why he had no pants on? It could be. It very well could be. Really? Detectives said they recovered the items connecting him to that assault, including the woman's phone, and he was denied bail and is being held in jail. So, clearly... mental illness going on here, not an excuse. He's even smiling in his mugshot, which is, which is interesting. But when we talk about things, and obviously I'm not a mental health expert, I don't claim to be, but when you ever hear people talking about like psychosis and mania and all of those types of things, what that wife has just described here is that's what that sounds like when you're saying that you're God and you're talking out of your head and it's disjointed and it makes no sense. But for her husband, number one, one, you saved your children's lives, sir, and I know that you're gone now, but that's what heroes are made of right there, to fight off this attacker. But two, Say Elijah is very interesting to me.
59:24 That is to me, too. And I'm extremely interested to find out. I don't know if this guy maybe worked at the hospital at some point or who knows. I mean, I'd be speculating, obviously, but. But picking a random house. And then not knowing your name. And Elijah ain't a name you're going to just come up with. Right. You know their name's Elijah if you say Elijah. Yeah, you're not going to be like, dude, you know, and she didn't mishear Elijah. No, because she didn't know the guy's name before she said, I think my husband said Elijah. Yeah. Uh, that's true. Good point. So, so this is just insane. And what a freaking loss. Cause it says that, you know, he was also the direct or the. The, you know, people have come out in other articles that I saw after this and we're talking about just how awesome this guy was. I mean, he was a, what a prototypical pediatrician, you know, just most pediatricians you'll run into in life are just good people.
1:00:16 They're just kind and yeah. And, and that's everybody loved that guy. And it's just a tragic, horrific, horrible thing and a nightmare. And all of us as men out there, that's our biggest fears, to be attacked while we're sleeping. You know, that's because you're already in a bad position. You're sleeping. Right. And so it's going to be a lot harder to fight off than if you're wide awake and you see something coming. Right. Now, this has nothing to do with this because it's notâ Like, I want to separate the two because this is a tragedy. And, you know, I'm glad his wife is pulling through. And hopefully those children will get to keep at least one parent in all of this. But side note, side adventure. My husband and I were talking about, like, if an intruder came in and, you know, he'd be like, yeah, well, I'd fight him first, you know, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, well, you're going to feel ridiculous because my husband doesn't sleep with any clothes on. And I was like, you're going to just feel really silly. Have you ever thought about fist fighting naked?
1:01:16 Yeah. I said, when they come into his house, the police, those photos are going to be epic because you're just going to be just all over the place. Yeah. Fist fight naked. Yeah. To the death. I know the feeling. Do you? I don't sleep with clothes on. I know people are like TMI right now. Well, I don't care. Whatever. I don't like to be jacked up. So how would you feel jumping up out the bed with no drawers on? I've heard something before and had to, I've jumped out the bed to grab a gun and go outside and I didn't have no clothes on. I was actually, I don't know how I threw on boxers. Like, I got boxers sitting there, because I don't walk around the house naked. Right, right. It's just like right before I go to sleep. And I went out there in them boxers, seeing what that noise was. That would be.
1:02:00 So Livingston Parish. All I saw was Jim naked in the driveway shooting the shotgun. He had two shotguns, one between his legs and one in his hand. Nice. Nice. All right, let's go to Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. A woman was arrested this week and charged with first-degree murder and arson nearly a year after her husband and 21-year-old daughter were found dead inside a burning home. Fire investigators later concluded was set on purpose after both victims were already dead. So Nicole Ellen Taylor, 55, was taken into custody and arraigned on first-degree murder, first-degree arson, and use or presentation of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She's being held without a bond at the Eastern Regional Jail. Now, the police came out and said that emergency services were called about 9 a.m. on September 30th to a residential fire. The house was heavily engulfed when they arrived. Taylor escaped with serious burns and was flown by medical helicopter to a regional burn center. Inside, crews found her husband, Robert Taylor III, 56, and their daughter, Cynthia Taylor, who is 21. Both of Harper's Ferry dead and next of kin were notified. A nearly year-long investigation by Trooper First Class C.S. Barrett. That sounds like an author's name.
1:03:18 Oh, C.S. Lewis. That's what I'm thinking about. All right. But this guy with the state and the state fire marshal's office and the FBI, tobacco farms, all these people, explosive, they all were in on this doing this investigation. And they concluded that the fire was arson. Examinations found that both victims had died before the blaze started. Robert Taylor had been shot multiple times. Authorities have not publicly released Cynthia Taylor's cause of death. Investigators said they developed information connecting Nicole Taylor to Robert's shooting death and to the fire that followed. The probe turned criminal in October of 2025. And they haven't detailed any more than that. They haven't given a motive or whether additional charges related to her will be filed.
1:04:01 Yeah. And it took that long to get the, you know, like you wonder why it took that long. I mean, it seems like a, How long was it? A year? A year. Well, no, no, no. Because it was the September 30th was the fire. It was of what? Of 25. Yeah. But it was October of 25 when it turned criminal. So it was only two months before they kind of caught on. Of 25? Yeah. But they just arrested her. So that's a year. It's October of 26 now. Oh, I see what you're saying. So it took a years-long investigation. Well, whenever they do those fire investigations, those reports don't come back, like, immediately. Those take some time to come back.
1:04:43 And I'm sure because of her injuries, which, by the way, she's giving older, misguided Taylor Swift, if you look at her photo. But, you know, that, and then they have to figure out motive. And then her own daughter was dead. But they said they were shot. Well, they said the husband was shot. Right. The daughter, they haven't released. I guess maybe they were just burnt so bad. Well, if the daughter could have been sleeping and then the smoke over. Most people die from smoke inhalation before fire actually gets them. No, no. I know. I'm saying from an investigation standpoint, they didn't realize. It just seems like it would have took a lot less than a year once you determined that the husband was shot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That his wife did it.
1:05:24 Yeah. I guess they had to make the connection. I guess. They had to figure out, but they haven't said motive yet. So you killed your own son and daughter. It may not be a motive. She may have just flipped out. You just want to sure up your case. And I think that's probably what this was about, was sureing up that case before they brought the charges. Well, they don't have to, you know, and it's important for people to know in a court case, you don't have to prove motive. You just have to prove the person did it. You don't have to prove why they did it. But motive is a really good. Certainly helps. Certainly helps. Having a body certainly helps. But just because a body isn't present doesn't mean someone wasn't killed. Right. Just because a motive doesn't exist doesn't mean someone didn't do a crime.
1:06:05 I got you. It doesn't have to make sense. They don't have to have a motive, right? You can just do it. Yeah. And believe it or not, that makes sense to some people. Like Nike. Yeah. Just do it. All right. Let's go to Florida and... I'm going to tell you what, I've heard of a lot of road rage incidents like Kelly got into with the police the other day. Makes me sound bad. I'm going to tell you something Kelly did not do that this woman did. And you didn't throw mayonnaise at the police. Oh, I would never waste a good mayo packet. Well, this wasn't a packet. It was a glass bottle. Even worse, a full jar. That's expensive. Mayo is expensive. So a 57-year-old woman. Has been arrested and charged in connection with a road rage incident after allegedly throwing a glass bottle of vegan mayonnaise at another driver's head. Even more expensive for a vegan.
1:06:54 Vegan, yeah. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred in August when Christine Sweet was a passenger in a vehicle that allegedly cut another car off. Sweet allegedly yelled profanities at the other driver, and when the car she was riding in became parallel with the victim's car, she threw a glass bottle containing vegan mayonnaise straight at the victim's head. Sweet then told the driver of the car she was in, I hit her in the face. Go, go, go. Sounds like me and you. I know. Go, Jim, go! Yeah, in a yellow Corvette. We'd never get caught. Never know it was us.
1:07:34 With leaders on the back of it. Holden, wait. How many packs of fish did we say would fit in your car when we went? Like 18 plates of fish will fit in my lap in Jim's car, if you're curious. Right. They will definitely do that. The victim suffered a laceration under her eye, according to the sheriff's office. Reports said that the victim spoke with deputies and she did want to prosecute. On September 17th, the victim called the sheriff's office and tipped them off about where Sweet's van was parked. So this victim driving down the road went, that's the chick that threw the mayonnaise at me and called the police. Deputies then made contact with Sweet. and arrested her for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. How about that? Unsweet. Vegan mayonnaise is a deadly weapon. Quote, a sweet screwball landed this road rager in jail. The sheriff's office said, y'all need a new social media person.
1:08:30 I know. A sweet screwball landed this road rager in jail. Oh, a screwball, like a pitch. Yeah, but I mean, that's... I know, I would have said the condiments went rogue or something. You could have done so many things with that that were funnier. Anyway, that is the story. And of course, where else but Lee County where this occurred. So, that's all I got, Kelly Jennings. That's it for today. Well, I've got one more. Oh, you do? Actually, you have two more, but. Well, because you replaced me. Oh, that's true. All right. Well, let's talk about these teens and then we'll wrap it up. So 12 teenagers were wounded when two groups opened fire on each other shortly after midnight Sunday at Carolyn Creighton Park, And this turned an 18th birthday gathering that had already been pushed out of a rented house into a mass shooting. Two 20-year-old men were arrested Monday and charged in connection with the attack. Deputies were dispatched at about midnight on Sunday after reports of gunfire near the skate park. A large group had gathered there for a girl's 18th birthday after being told to leave an Airbnb in the neighboring Jones County.
1:09:37 Sheriff David Davis. David Davis. I went to school with a guy named John Johnson. And to this day, I'm like, why? Detective John Johnson now. I wonder if that was his dad. No, it couldn't have been his dad. Why? Because you're not that much older than me, Kelly. I'm younger than you. Well, my friend would have had to have a baby when he was like 10. You're not that much younger than me. Are you being judgy? Stephen John Johnson. All right. Anyway, David Davis said the property owner asked them to go after becoming concerned about some of the activities at the party, including the presence of firearms. A second group then arrived across the street. The two sides exchanged words, displayed guns, and then began shooting. Park surveillance video captured a burst of gunfire lasting about 30 seconds. That's a long time while people were running.
1:10:27 Yeah. Cool. Investigators said the second group appeared to initiate the shooting and that it may have grown out of what Davis called a, quote, silly beef. Hmm. Both groups exchanged words and began firing at each other, but there was no indication any of the wounded had fired shots. The victims are one 19 year old man, four 18 year old men, five 17 year old boys and two 18 year old women. Several attend Central High School, Northeast High School or the district's VIP and SOAR academies. Three were identified as Northeast High football players. A 17 year old boy and an 18 year old man were listed missing. in critical but stable condition, and the rest were stable. By Monday afternoon, five teenagers remained hospitalized and the others had been released. Thank God no deaths have been reported. Many of the wounded arrived in private vehicles before deputies even reached the park. The emergency department was placed on lockdown as family and friends poured in. A 19-year-old man walked into the hospital Sunday afternoon with a non-life-threatening wound later tied to the same shooting, raising the victim count from 11 to 12. He said Davis said he couldn't remember the last time so many people had been shot in a single incident. This is certainly not the way we want to see Sunday start. And investigators arrested David Pitts and Jacques Bailey, both of them 20 years old. And Pitts was charged with 12 counts of aggravated assault at a party as a party to a crime.
1:11:53 Bailey was charged with 12 counts of aggravated assault. Both are being held. Davis has also said adults who knew teenagers were carrying guns could face charges. I guarantee you some adult loved ones or some guardians knew that they had guns. And if we can charge the adults in connection with this, we're going to do that. And I kind of agree with that. Because why are these fools running around? With these weapons like this. Major weapons. Yeah. Seven vehicles were taken for forensic processing. Four that carried victims to the hospital and three that left the park. Ten witnesses were interviewed. And guess what they used? Flock cameras. And then they found shell casings. And they used all these other things to see if the dispute was personal, school-related, or gang-related. And so the Uvalde Foundation for Kids offered a reward of up to $ 5, 000 for information leading to those responsible.
1:12:46 Wow. And another... Foundation based around school shooting stuff. So those are all A's. Yeah. You know, we talked about one last episode, and Uvalde is a different one that we talked about, but apparently another probably worthwhile foundation. Absolutely. And then my other gripe here is that why are you 20 years old shooting up teenagers? Go hang out with people your own age. These kids, these A's are fools, man. And they're absolutely stupid, a lot of them. especially ones in it. But, you know, the parents who ever raised them, I blame them as well. I mean, yeah, obviously you didn't teach them right. And I know there's a limited few out there that did everything they could. But the majority of these kids are, you know, they're.
1:13:33 Well, the fact that they're they're investigating whether this is gang related or not kind of lends you to. Yeah. What might have been going on. You got 15 year olds doing. What is it, the TikTok trend where they all meet up and it's a teen takeover shit happening everywhere? Try that in Denham Springs, Louisiana. See how that goes for you. Oh, my God. You see that? Sheriff's Department of Response. I know. Oh, they'd have a ball. I know. They'd throw in their- Come take over here. They'd throw their dip in their lip and they'd. Say, all right, boys. Yeah, come on over here to the Fall Fest and do a team takeover. See how that goes for you. You better say, I only pick these spots where people are soft. You come up at Livingston Parish doing that. Yeah. Bye-bye.
1:14:13 That's so funny. Country boys are coming to get you. Oh, yeah. We're going to have some fun with you before you leave. Hey, Jim, do you have any final thoughts? Actually, yes. No, you don't. I do. What? I do. I want to say thank you to all the fans out there that listen and love our show so much. We love you all just as much. I want to say go Tigers this week against a team that we should beat handily, and hopefully we'll get to rest our players. That's right. That are injured right now. We suffered an injury. You saw Whit Weeks broke a bone. I saw him break his leg probably out for the season. He may come back. They're saying they hope by the Alabama game. I don't know. I mean, he may. I'm thinking more like Texas probably last game of the season.
1:14:58 But that's mine. What about yours? My final thoughts are please don't honk at me or next time. Unless you think she's cute. Then she says honk at her. Yeah, you can honk at me. Nobody ever honks at me. No one's ever in my DMs and no one ever. Honks at me. Watch what you say. You'll be getting them now. Don't invite that shit. Some AI shit coming to you. Y'all stay safe out there. Avoid these parties and let's all just behave. That's my final thought. Yep. Yep. And until next time, I'm Jim Chapman. And I'm Kelly Jennings. And we're your host of Crime. Wire. Weekly. All the time.
