Bad Teachers: Haley Beck & Angela Burlaka
In this episode Jim Chapman looks into the police investigation into allegations of inappropriate relationships between a student-athlete at Centennial High School in Peoria, Arizona, and two teachers, Angela Burlaka and Haley Beck.
The case began with the student telling his grandmother about the relationship, who then reports it to police after reviewing messages and videos. Detectives identify and question Burlaka using phone records, social media, and searches of her classroom and home. Jim then covers the wider investigation into Beck, including interviews with witnesses who describe messaging, gifts, rides, and other contact between her and the student. Jim also uncovers Beck’s interview with police, her denial of a sexual relationship, and evidence recovered from her home.

0:20 Hey everyone and welcome back to Exposed Scandalous Files of the Elite. I'm your host Jim Chapman and we are back with another Bad Teachers series episode. It's been a little while, but before we get started on this one, two things. First, very important to say. In this country, you are innocent until proven guilty. All of the information I'm about to talk about came from an actual police report. Actually, 200 pages long, in fact, this police report. But it's important, and I want to note, you're innocent until proven guilty, and these are the allegations that were laid forward in that report. So with that out of the way, I'm going to tell you... This is one of the most descriptive episodes you're ever going to hear me do, and primarily the reason for that is the fact that I have a 200-page police report that I have researched to come up with the information I'm going to give you now.
1:19 Of course, this deals with teacher-student relationships, and if that's something that disturbs you, you need to turn this one off now. So if you're still with me, Let's get into it. And this one really starts with a grandmother who is having lunch with her grandson, who is the victim in this case. Now, the grandson is a very good football player in the state of Arizona. And so good, in fact, that a high school in California was recruiting him. And so while he was out on this recruiting trip and visiting the school, and he had already decided, folks, that he was going to transfer to this school in California.
1:59 His grandmother was with him, and while they were having lunch, he discloses to his grandmother that he was having an inappropriate relationship with two teachers at his high school. which we now know is Centennial High School in Peora, Arizona. Now, at the time of this disclosure to his grandmother, he is currently 18 years old. But he tells her the messaging back and forth actually started two years prior when he was 16. So his grandmother, she gets all the deets. And incidentally, her name is Rochelle Bates. And coincidentally, her son-in-law or ex-son-in-law, the guy who was once married to her daughter, was a cop. So she calls her ex-son-in-law and she tells him all these details that she was given from her grandson and essentially asked him, you know, what am I supposed to do here? And he said, you need to make an official report of this. And he said he was going to contact the police in Arizona.
3:02 specifically the Peora PD, and y'all can link up and they will tell you exactly what's going to happen from there. And so that is what he does. So ex-son-in-law, he calls his colleagues in Arizona and he tells them he received a call from his ex-mother-in-law, Rochelle, and that she had said her grandson had been receiving money from two teachers and that he also received nude images and videos from these teachers. And she also said her grandson had told her there were two other students on the football team who had similar contact with these teachers. So police in Arizona, they get contact information and they contact Rochelle and they arrange for an interview. And on July 30th of 2025, Rochelle goes to the Peoria Police Department and she conducts that interview. So she tells the detectives about her grandson's football career and everything I just told you about him committing to transferring to a California high school to complete his high school career. And he's a senior at this point. Now, she said during the week of July 25th, 2025, her grandson, herself and her husband, the grandfather to the victim, While sitting around talking about the transfer, the grandfather mentions that an older female teacher has been communicating with the victim. Now, he mentions this to grandma, but not within earshot of the victim. So this was
4:34 kind of said in passing, but it's stuck in the grandmother's mind, right? So when they're having lunch in California, her and the grandson, she starts asking him a little bit more about this. And when she asked her grandson about communicating with this much older teacher, her grandson's response was, how do you know about that? So she pries a little further and the victim said it was a teacher by the name of Angela Berlaca and that she started messaging him two years prior when he was 16 years old. He said since that time they have communicated consistently and And he even showed his grandmother a video of who he claimed to be Angela Berlaca, nude, masturbating with a penis-shaped object. And in this video that Rochelle saw, the female was masturbating and she whispers into the camera the victim's name and said she wanted to, quote, suck him dry.
5:38 So the grandmother tries to be slick here and she says, I can't really see the video. Let me hold your phone. And while she's doing that, she actually tries to send herself the video. But the grandson notices this. He grabs the phone from her hand and he tells her, you can't send that. But he does agree to send her a different video. And Rochelle actually showed this video to detectives. Now, in the way detectives describe it in the report, it's a video with audio. It's about two minutes long and it depicts an adult female with developed breasts in the shower. The camera is set up toward the top of the shower and it's facing downward. The female's face is not completely visible. Only the nose to her mouth is visible.
6:28 And she is lathering soap onto her breast and body throughout the video. Now, at some point, the female turns around and exposes her buttocks. And they also notice in the report that there are three tattoos that are visible. They see one on her left shoulder. It's a flower with a tribal design. On her right hip, there's another tattoo, but they can't really make that one out because her hand is covering it. And then they find a third tattoo on her left inner forearm. So in this interview, Rochelle goes on to say that she doesn't know if there were any other videos sent. or if any messages were exchanged between Angela and her grandson. But she does mention the fact that her grandson also said two other football players received videos from Angela as well. Now, incidentally, y'all, Angela Berlaca is 47 years old at this time. Very attractive, blonde teacher at Centennial High School. Now, we'll get into more of that in a little while. So it's also during this interview that Rochelle makes mention to police that she knew of another teacher who was being overly friendly with her grandson. However, she's not aware if there's any inappropriate behavior between the two. She just noticed the teacher was overly friendly. So at this point, the detectives get some contact information for the grandfather of the victim. His name is August, by the way. And they also ask
7:58 if they can speak to the victims. And the grandmother says, well, he's actually in San Diego right now. He's staying at a coach's house there, but he's supposed to come back later today from San Diego. And he was going to go back for one more day of school at Centennial, let his football coach know that he was going to go ahead and transfer to California and then enroll in San Diego's high school. Now, another detective in the room, he conducted a separate interview, kind of had a, kind that she saw again in that video. And while he's conducting his interview, he asked her if she knew Angela Berlacca or had a Facebook page or any social media information that she could share. And the grandmother says, yes, I've already done my own research. And they actually pull out a laptop and Rochelle shows police Angela's social media profiles that she was able to locate. And what the police are trying to do here initially is see if the pictures on the Facebook page line up to that masturbation video that they were shown relative to what the person looked like. Now unfortunately, because you can only see from her nose down in the masturbation video, it's kind of hard to tell if it's her or not It's one of those situations where it could be her, but you couldn't say that beyond a reasonable doubt. Now, another thing Rochelle mentioned was that her grandson was adamant about
9:29 not being involved at all with anything to do with this case. And she said the reason for that was her grandson was concerned it would affect or could possibly jeopardize his chances of an athletic scholarship if he got wrapped up in this big scandal of sex with his teachers, right? And that makes sense to me. And the police at that point, they try to tell her that, hey, he's a victim. Nobody is going to look at him as anything but a victim. So he does. have to worry about that. She also mentioned the grandfather in this case. August also wanted nothing to do with this. And it's also important to mention here that August and the grandmother are divorced. So her grandson actually lives with his grandfather, not with his grandmother. But the long and short of it is neither grandfather nor grandson want anything to do with the police investigation in this case, according to Rochelle, the grandmother. So reluctantly, Rochelle does give her grandson's cell phone number to police and she says, hey, if you can convince him to talk to you, that's great. Here's his number, but I'm not confident about it. So the very next day, police go to the grandfather's residence where the grandson lives and They knock on the door and no one comes to the door. They leave and the detective attempts to call August. Now, August answers the phone and detectives basically say, we're trying to get in touch
11:02 with your grandson about this situation with this teacher. And the detective described that August was very uncooperative to the point that he tells detectives, look, I have no idea where my grandson is. And if he doesn't want to talk to you, he doesn't have to talk to you. And at that point, detectives are sort of trying to question August. And he says, look, I'm going to go to sleep. I'll call you when I wake up. And he just hangs up the phone. Later that day, police get a call from grandmother Rochelle. And she says, hey, August just called me and said that police were at your house. And the detective says, yeah, we were there. We were going to try to talk to your grandson. And she said, well... He's supposed to be going to school for the last day before he's enrolling in California.
11:48 Maybe you can catch him there. So they hang up the phone and a short time later, she calls the detective back and she says, well, never mind. August said he ain't bringing grandson to the last day of school because the police are going to be there. And his grandson does not want to get involved with this situation. So it's obvious, y'all, that the victim here is not going to cooperate or provide any storage. of statement. However, police don't necessarily have to have his cooperation at this point because they've already seen a video that was sent to him and then sent to his grandmother where a crime was taking place with the masturbation video because you can't send that to minors, right? And they're assuming he was a minor at this time. And that was enough to get a search warrant and actually ping the cell phone location where that victim may be so police can go find him. They need to try to talk to this kid. So while police are trying to get the search warrant signed by a judge to ping that cell phone location, detectives go to the school and they talk to the SRO. That's the school resource officer. His name is David Fernandez. And he had been an SRO at Centennial High School for over 10 years. The detectives go to the school and they had screenshotted some still photos of the video that was sent to them from Rochelle.
13:14 And they were armed with these photos when they meet with SRO Fernandez. Now, according to the records, the photos were only of Angela's face from her nose down and that inner arm tattoo. the report said they blurred out the nudity stuff to where you can only see half the face in the inner arm tattoo. Whether that's true, I don't know, but that's what they say in the report. So the detective asked SRO Fernandez, does this look like Angela Berlaca? And the SRO says, it kind of looks like her, but I can't confirm it 100% because in the video, she's not wearing any makeup and he's always seen her with makeup. But what he did do was he made a strong mental note of that tattoo. And he says, look, I'm going to go to her classroom right now, make up an excuse to talk to her for a minute. And I'm going to see if that tattoo on her inner forearm matches what you're showing me here.
14:14 So that's what he does. And he comes back and he says to the detective, he is 100% sure that that the chick in that video is Angela Berlaca because those tattoos match up 100%, at least the one on her form. So once detectives get that, they have enough information to get a search warrant. And just a couple of things about Angela Berlaca. She was a longtime educator, y'all, 25 years at Centennial High School. She was 47 years old when all this was going down in 2025. And she was married. And we know that because her husband is mentioned a couple of times in the reports that I reviewed. I don't know if she had any children, but 100% she was married. So back to the story.
15:04 Once this search warrant gets secured, police confirm Angela is still at school teaching during this time. And they are able to put surveillance on her. School ends, they see her get in her car and she heads away from school, I'm assuming towards home. They didn't want to arrest her at the actual school because that's going to create a whole nother bag of shit, right? Every student would be talking about that and it would create anarchy. So they conduct a traffic stop and they take her into custody for questioning. So Angela gets brought into the interview room. She's read her Miranda rights. And the interview starts off with just general questions, right, to make her feel comfortable.
15:50 They ask how long she's been a teacher. She says for 26 years that she's currently worked at Centennial High School. And then prior to that, she worked as a teacher in an elementary school. And then police jump right into it. And they ask her if she has had any contact with student athletes in her classroom. And she said when they're in her classroom or during school-related clubs, she does have contact with them. And detectives asked her, what about through email? And she says, yeah, I contact students through email for specific projects. And she said she has only had communication with students outside of school for school-related purposes.
16:34 And the detective then says, what about non-school related purposes? Have you ever had any contact with students outside of school? And her response was, I am not going to answer that. The detective then asked Angela if there was a reason why her student would have her personal phone number. And she responded that there would be no reason for that. But then she goes on to say, quote, I'm going to say this, but I feel like anything I'm going to say is going to be viewed as wrong. And she describes a situation where she and a student or several students were on a field trip with high schoolers and preschoolers. And she said she had given out her personal phone number for easy communication during these field trips.
17:20 But other than that, there would be no reason for students to have And then detectives really kind of hit her hard and they ask her point blank if there would be any reason that a student would have images or videos of Angela in a state of nudity. And it's at that point that Angela said, hey, this is over with. I'm not answering any more questions and I want an attorney. And once she lawyers up, the interview ends. So detectives get up and they say, look, we need you to remain in the interview room because we have a search warrant that includes taking photographs of you. And we need to identify tattoos on your body and compare those to the body in the video. So everything from the waist up. And we're not going to take these pictures.
18:10 We're going to have a female come in here, a female officer, and she is going to take them. And y'all, they have a search warrant. So there's no way she can say no to this. It's ordered by a judge. So she has to get nude from the waist up and allow this officer in. to take pictures. After the female officer comes in the room to take the photograph, she's then moved to what's known as a processing area where she's going to be processed through internal systems. And at that point, she's released from the police department as they review this evidence. Now, one thing that I didn't mention was when Angela was brought into the police department she went there with her husband and apparently police had a search warrant for her phone already ready to go so they collected the phone from her when she was brought in but they didn't have the passcode and apparently she didn't want to give it to him but her husband who was also there while she was getting these photographs taken her husband did provide her passcode to police So they, of course, are going to download her cell phone information as well and see if they can find any evidence on that. So while this is going on, they also had a search warrant for her classroom at the high school and they meet up with the high school principal. He's in the parking lot of the school and he's provided a copy of the search warrant for Angela's classroom. And while they're talking to the principal, detectives mentioned there's a rumor out there from somebody saying, that another teacher, a second teacher, may be involved. And the
19:44 principal shares, while he's not sure if any of it is related, he did receive an email from a concerned sibling regarding a teacher named Haley Beck. And that email was shown to the detective, and it reads like this. Hello, I hope you're doing well. I am writing to share concern regarding Ms. Beck and a student I believe warrant your attention. And the student is named and is the same student that is tied up in all this stuff with Angela Berlaca. So the email goes on to read, my sister is a student at Centennial High School and is mentioned feeling uncomfortable about Ms. Beck's interactions with the victim. She is observed and heard about several instances that seem inappropriate, including frequent text and Snapchats. Also, Ms. Beck gives victim Christmas gifts while not giving anything to other teammates. Ms.
20:38 Beck and the victim have also been seen together in a vehicle. And it goes on to read, but are hesitant to report it due to fear of being labeled as a snitch, especially because the victim is a football player. There also seems to be a lot of people reluctant to speak up due to the stigma surrounding a male student in this situation. And I actually agree with whoever wrote this on that. While my sister is unwilling to provide further details, I believe that other students may be able to share information if they are approached. I understand this is serious and I trust the school will handle it with appropriate discretion and urgency. Let me know if there's anything further I can do. Thank you for your time.
21:24 Best regards. And it's signed. Now, it's also during this communication with the principal that the principal brings up the fact that he was approached by a principal of another high school. And that principal's name was Sammy. And the principal at Centennial, Scott, said, He said that Principal Sammy approached him in July of 2025 at a district meeting and showed him a picture of Haley's Instagram account, Haley Beck. And in that picture was the victim as well in this case. And the other principal made the comment, These two are too close. But he said beyond that, there was nothing else said. So the detective then asked Principal Scott how old Haley Beck was, to which Principal Scott said 25 initially and then said, oh, no, I think she's 27. which was accurate. Haley Beck was 27 when all this went down. Now, that also raised an eyebrow with the detective relative to her age, because originally when Grandma Rochelle mentioned all of this, she said she thought the other teacher that was involved somewhere was 27 years old.
22:35 So that would line up with what a witness already reported. So the search warrant at the school is conducted and this detective also starts searching through social media accounts, not only for Angela, but also for Haley Beck. And he does notice that Haley and the victim were following each other on Instagram. Now, while all of these search warrants are being conducted, remember I told you earlier they were pinging to try to find out where the victim was so they could talk to him? Well, they eventually did get a cell phone ping and it was showing he was traveling from Arizona to California. So he is already headed out of state, which is not good for detectives.
23:18 A lot harder to question him when he leaves the state. So let's go to August 1st of 2025. And that cell phone extraction for Angela's cell phone is complete now. In this cell phone, there were a total of 303,998 images, video, and audio files. And it said that the detective went through the file and was not able to locate the described files that were sent to the victim. So the videos that his grandmother saw apparently had been deleted, but he was able to find nude images of Angela. However, no evidence that they were sent directly to the victim. So the detective uses the search function. He tries to locate the victim by various spellings of his name throughout the phone. Because if you take an iPhone, y'all, and you swipe it down, you can search. There's a search bar there. You can type in anybody's name and it'll pull up all kinds of stuff, right? He tried to do that, but he wasn't able to locate anything there.
24:20 So he's going to not give up on that. And eventually they do do a more in-depth search. But we'll get back to it. Now, later that day, he does get contacted by another investigator on this case. And he had additional information he said he received from a guy who called him on the phone named Kevin. And he passes on the contact information for Kevin to this detective. And this detective calls Kevin. And Kevin said that he met with his ex-wife. who is the mother of the victim in this case. Now, originally when I was researching this case through this giant 200-page file, I thought this was another victim, a separate victim, because I thought the first victim was estranged from his mother and his father, being that his grandmother had already reported all of this. However, that's not the case. This is the exact same victim.
25:15 It's just Kevin is his biological father. So Kevin tells police that he had met with his ex-wife and her name is Tricia and she's the mother of the victim and that they had met to discuss parenting time for their child that they had in common when Tricia asked Kevin if he had spoken to police. And Kevin asked her why. And Tricia said, quote, Victim is fucking two teachers. Unquote. And Trisha then went on to tell her ex-husband that she knew of the victim having sex with the teacher named Haley Beck and that a few months prior she had seen text messages on the victim's cell phone from Haley.
25:56 And she described those text messages to her ex-husband as flirty. She said she then asked the victim about those text messages and he disclosed he was having sex with Haley. And Kevin went on to say his ex-wife thought back and she remembered that the victim would always miss his first period class due to sleeping in. And all of the sudden, he started going to his first period class, which was the class that Haley Beck taught. and that he had an A in the class. And she thought that was strange, considering he had missed all this time. So she asked her ex-husband, Kevin, for advice on what the victim should do. And her ex-husband's like, well, he needs to cooperate with police on this. And Tricia tells her ex-husband that she called her son and she begged him to cooperate with police, but that he was scared this was going to affect athletic scholarships, And he refused to do it. So the detective hears all of this and he gets Trisha's contact information and he calls Trisha on a recording line and he asked her about the information regarding her son. And she said she didn't want to provide any information due to her son's athletic opportunities and she didn't want to mess that up. So the detective continues trying to kind of press her. And he mentions, well, I'd heard you saw some text messages on the cell phone that belongs to your son. Can you tell me what those said? And Tricia said that Haley Beck was
27:27 harassing the victim in this case and wanted the victim to basically acknowledge every time that she text. She said she saw a particular text that said, why can't you talk to me? I just want you to come over. I really want to see you. I miss you. Now, y'all, that in and of itself is really bad from a teacher to a student, right? The detective then asked her, well, how do you know they were actually having sex? And get this. This dude told his own mother that Haley, quote, loves his dick, according to the mother. Trisha then said she told her son, look, you have got to end this relationship with your teacher. To which, according to Trisha, he did do a few months prior to current times when she is conducting this interview. The detective then asked her, when did they start having sex to your knowledge? And Trisha responded that her son told her. They started having sex when he turned 17. And I'm going to deviate quickly and just give you a little information on Haley Beck since I haven't covered her yet in the story.
28:38 So Haley, at this time, all this is going down. As I said, she's 27 years old, very pretty teacher, and comes from an actually very famous family. Her brother is a huge TikToker. His name is Noah Beck. He has 33 million followers, y'all, on TikTok. And Haley Beck had been a teacher at Centennial High School for six years at this point. Her mom, incidentally, also a teacher. And I think, I believe from my research, her father was as well. And you'll find out more about that later. So if you'll remember, I told you about the principal of another school who had talked to Principal Scott at Centennial High School about those Instagram pictures that he had seen of Haley Beck. and this student and saying they're way too close, right? Well, I'm going to give you the story behind that because detectives did talk to that principal.
29:33 And remember, this is a different high school than the one that these teachers taught at. So this principal's name is Samuel. And when police talked to him, he said that his sister-in-law had a daughter that was previously a cheerleader at Centennial High School. And her name is Haley. And I know that's confusing. It's not Haley Beck. Her daughter's name is also Haley. So Samuel goes to a family party before school started. And while at this party, he gets approached by a sister-in-law. Her name is Brandy. And Brandy pulls out a cell phone and she shows a picture of a female subject. And she asked Samuel if he knew who this person was. And Samuel said, I think I know her father. I think I follow him on social media or something, and I've seen pictures of her on his page. And then Brandy asked, well, you being a principal, would you consider this photograph appropriate?
30:30 And the photograph, as I said, was Haley back, and she's in a bikini, apparently a scant bikini, with the victims. And Brainy goes on to say that this person's father is also a teacher. So Brainy tells Principal Samuel that no one wants to say anything, but children are talking about her being in contact with this particular football player at the school all the time. And she asked Samuel if he knew this particular football player, and Samuel said, look, I don't know any of the students outside of the school that I am principal of. So his sister-in-law continues on, and she said her daughter Haley told her that the students at Centennial High School are saying the teacher was contacting students through social media, and specifically an African-American kid And Brandy showed Samuel a picture of the football player.
31:27 And Samuel then tells his sister-in-law, hey, text me those photographs because his luck would have it. Tomorrow, I'm going to have a school administrator meeting where all the principals go to this meeting and the principal of Centennial High School will be there. And I can show him these photographs and just make him aware that these rumors are swirling around. So the next day he arrives at that meeting and he does indeed speak to the principal of Centennial High School. His name is Scott Hollenbach. And he also speaks to the athletic director of Centennial High School. And he informs them that he has a parent of a cheerleader. He didn't tell him it was his sister-in-law, apparently, but tells them a parent of a cheerleader provided him with multiple photographs of And, you know, he wants to make them aware of all these rumors, essentially, that are going around. And he said at that time, both the athletic director and principal Scott look at the picture and they say, quote, Oh, shit. Thank you. Can you send me those pictures? This is not the first time we have had an issue or have had to talk to her.
32:38 meaning Haley Beck. And that's interesting, y'all. That's kind of a problem because now a school administrator is admitting you at least knew about these rumors swirling around, and yet she's still teaching there, and there at least outwardly is no investigation that the school is conducting on What's going down? So at that point, Principal Samuel, he sends Principal Scott the photographs. And he also informed Scott he had observed on the female teacher's TikTok videos from her classroom, which that can be a problem because of the students in the videos. You know, typically, if they're minors, you need a parent's permission before you're posting their kids online. on TikTok. Now, Principal Samuel did say he didn't see anything inappropriate on the TikTok videos outside of the fact that the students were in those and it was likely there was no parental consent given. So Principal Scott tells Principal Samuel, hey, I'm going to investigate this. And that was basically the end of the incident. And it's important to note that Principal Samuel had deleted the photographs off of his phone at the time that he's talking to police. I'm sure he didn't want to get caught with bikini pictures of some woman on his phone that he didn't even know.
34:04 So he deleted those after he sent them to Principal Scott, said the detective was not able to log those into evidence. So let's go to August 2nd of 2025, and the detective travels to a home to interview two witnesses. Now, one of those witnesses is 18 years old, and one of those witnesses is is 16 years old. So two females, their mother's name is Ari, and Ari allowed detective to speak to both of her daughters. And one of these daughters is in 11th grade, currently attending Centennial High School. And the detective asked her what she knew about the situation going on at the school. And at that point, the 11th grader said, are we speaking about Miss Beck?
34:49 And the detective said he wanted to obtain any information on any teacher at the school. Miss Beck or otherwise. So the 11th grader said she heard about an email regarding Miss Berlacca, but that she didn't believe the allegations. She said two days prior, while she was in her weight training class, she asked her friend, hey, have you heard anything about Miss Beck? Because of all these rumors going around. And her friend said that she heard about Miss Berlacca, And she had heard Ms. Berlaca had messaged the victim asking if he wanted to have sex. But her friend didn't tell her who had told her that. Now, the 11th grader said she didn't believe it and that as far as she knew with Ms. Berlaca as a teacher, she would never harass students. Now, regarding Ms. Beck, the 11th grader was told by her older sister that she is friendly with the football boys, especially the victim in this case. Specifically, she mentioned incidents where Ms. Beck would be teaching her class and suddenly when the football players came in, Ms. Beck would stop teaching and start talking to the football players for the rest of the class, according to this 11th grader. In addition to this, the 11th grader recalled an incident where the victim came into Ms.
36:11 Beck's classroom, gave her a hug, and then a lot of people could see that they were flirting. She also recalled an incident where a student was using Ms. Beck's cell phone and actually observed a Snapchat notification coming through between the victim Snapchatting Ms. Beck. She said at that point, the student that had the phone turned to Ms. Beck and asked, why victim was Snapchatting her. And at that point, she said Ms. Beck became very defensive, told the student to not say that out loud. The 11th grader went on to say she believed the incident occurred during the second semester of of the prior year, possibly January or February 2025. Then she really got to the point when she said her friend also told her that she saw Ms.
37:01 Beck leaving the victim's driveway. Now, this is third-party information, y'all, but... Obviously, what would Ms. Beck be doing at the victim's house? Now, according to this third-party person, she advised that she saw Ms. Beck was following the victim on Instagram and now suddenly they're not following each other. And in addition to this, the third party told someone who told the 11th grader that she knows of a video showing Ms. Beck sucking the victim's penis. She went on to say neither herself nor nor her sister had personally seen the video, but that it was rumored, and Ms. Beck knew about the video circulating. She also said the way everybody found out about the video was her friend's boyfriend is friends with the victim and basically told everybody about it. What do you expect is going to happen? So the detective then speaks to the older of the two sisters, who has now graduated from high school. She had graduated two months prior.
38:06 and she attended the same high school, Centennial, all four years. And she stated that Ms. Beck had what she termed was a weird focus on guys. She said her last year of high school, Ms. Beck was her teacher, and she described the classroom environment as annoying due to Ms. Beck prioritizing the male students' attention. So this is You know, these are girls in high school. They're wanting to talk to the captain of the football team, right? They don't want to have to compete with their teacher. She said Miss Beck would let students in her classroom when they weren't supposed to be there. But she said one time she asked Miss Beck if she could stay in her classroom for a while. And Miss Beck told her no, because the class was busy. She said she then heard from one of her friends that was in Ms. Beck's class that she would let members of the football team stay in there, just not anybody else. She also said she heard rumors that during Christmas time, she gave a student, the victim in this case, a Christmas gift. In addition to that, she said she heard Ms. Beck had made a TikTok video. in a male student's vehicle. She named the male students, but they're redacted, of course. She said she found this weird because the teacher boundary with a student was exceeded in her view by going inside of that student's vehicle. I couldn't agree with that more. She also said she heard the victim and Miss Beck would Snapchat each other constantly. The victim would go in her classroom to hang out with Miss Beck, even though he
39:36 wasn't a student in her class. And she said she's not sure who started the rumors or who told her the information initially, but that she had never personally witnessed any of the allegations. So that interview gets concluded and the detectives move on to interview another 12th grader at Centennial High School. And this 12th grader was in a weight training class that the 11th grader just kind of covered. This was the person the 11th grader was talking to. So they talked to her and what she told detectives was that she heard two students and the names are redacted here, but she heard from them that Ms. Berlaca was texting these two students and attempting to engage with sex with them. She said specifically she was text messaging a student, who is the victim in this case, and asking to have sex with him. But she didn't know when that occurred. She also said the rumors were circulating regarding another teacher named Haley Beck and that she had heard stuff was going on between Haley and the victim for a good while. She said specifically she had heard about a video that showed Haley engaging in oral sex with the victim. And she said in addition to that, it's known that Haley would go to a marijuana dispensary for the victim. She also said during the summer, Haley Beck had invited multiple students to her apartment complex to
41:07 go swimming at the end of June. And with that, that interview was concluded. So at this point, detectives have enough that they want to talk to Haley Beck, right? They put surveillance on Haley back at her apartment. They don't see anything there. So they go by her parents' house and they do see a vehicle matching Haley Beck's vehicle in the driveway. So they kind of hang out there. Eventually, Haley comes out and she gets in her vehicle and police tail her. This eventually leads to her going back to her apartment. She pulls up, goes in the apartment. She's in there quite a while. And when she comes back out. Someone is waiting for her and she gets in that person's vehicle. It's another female and they leave and they actually go to a movie theater to see a movie. So several police are tailing her in unmarked vehicles.
41:59 They pull up to the movie theater. One of them actually buys a ticket and goes inside and sits right behind Haley and her friend to see if they say anything in the movie theater about any of this shit going on. They watch the movie. They go to leave, and some other detectives were outside the movie theater. They actually approach Haley at that point, and they're like, we need to talk to you. They show her a copy of a search warrant for her phone, which was in her hand at the time, and she was cooperative. She handed over the phone, and at that point, the detective made her aware that they also had a search warrant for her apartment and her workplace, and she said that's fine.
42:42 The officer then asked if she would be willing to speak with them. And she said, yes. And he said, well, we can speak at the station or we can go sit in my unmarked police car and I can record it and you can speak. with me there. So they go to his unmarked vehicle and once inside, he makes it clear, hey, you're not under arrest. You're not detained. You're free to leave at any point. And he specifically told her, if you don't want to speak to me any longer, you don't have to. And Haley acknowledges that she understood this and she was good to speak with him. So he reads her Miranda rights and then they start talking. She tells the detective she was in her sixth year at teaching at Centennial High School and that that was the only school she's ever taught at. She told the detective she teaches social studies and psychology, which that's scary.
43:37 The detective asked her if she was familiar with the victim in this case, to which she stated yes. And the detective said, well, tell me about y'all's relationship. And she said she had the victim as a student twice in the past two years, and they got close as peers. That's how she stated it. And then she immediately corrected using the word peers and said not as peers, as student teacher. She then said the victim was going through a lot with transferring to another school in California and that she knew the victim well. The detective asked her if she ever contacts students outside of school or a school function and she said she always gives her phone number on parent information sheets. She went on to say she was the girl's soccer coach and her soccer players also have her phone number. She said her players would text her for emergencies in case they cannot practice and that she does communicate with students via the school's messaging applications as well. Haley went on to say she communicated with the victim via Instagram over the summer because he was in a, quote, weird place about going to another school.
44:47 She said she felt like she and the victim had a good student-teacher relationship and and that he felt comfortable talking about issues in his life with her. She went on to say she and the victim do not follow each other on Instagram, but felt the victim was giving her a heads up. about leaving. The detective asked Haley if the victim had her phone number, and she said yes, and she went on to mention that her brother had a significant following on social media. And of course, she's talking about Noah Beck, which this detective had already researched Noah Beck heavily, and he discovered that he was a very high-income social media personality. having 30-plus million followers on TikTok, 7.8 million followers on Instagram, and 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube, with a reported net worth to be anywhere between $ 3 and $ 6 million annually, as well as being listed on Forbes 30 under 30 for social media in 2023. Haley said she's also appeared on social media with her brother, and her information is easily accessible to the public. She said her brother is very popular among high schoolers and she frequently gets asked about him. She continues on and said initially the victim messaged her on Snapchat and then randomly texted her later in the spring semester and she said it was during that time the victim told her
46:17 he was thinking of transferring to California. clarifying this was in May of 2025. The detective asked Haley why the victim would leave for California in his senior season in high school, and she said it was because the team in California had won a state championship and he thought it would be better for him relative to getting an athletic scholarship. The detective told Haley he had received information that there had been complaints from other staff and students about her relationship with the victim. And he provided examples of people who had told the detective about inappropriate messages, as well as those two being seen together in public.
46:57 And he asked if there were any truth to those allegations. And Haley said she would go to football games with other staff members to support the team. But she said we would never intentionally meet up in public. It would just be random when she would be away at football games. She went on to provide some examples of randomly seeing the victim. She said, I'd go to a local restaurant and he would just happen to be there, but it was never a planned meeting. She said his residence is only a couple of blocks from her parents' house. And she even described an incident where she was walking her dog while house-sitting for her parents and she happened to see the victim. But anytime they'd been seen together outside of school, she said that was purely coincidental. The detective then asked about if she had ever given gifts to the victim. And y'all, that's important because every case that I've covered on bad teachers, it's grooming when they give these students gifts. It's almost like an unconscious way of buying these students' silence. And the detective knows this, and he wanted to know if there was any truth to it.
48:11 So she responds that yes, she's given him gifts, but she clarified she gives gifts to all of her student-athletes. She said she was a high school athlete herself. And she would provide a bunch of snacks to the victim and three other students on the football team. And she said she was inspired to do that by another teacher who used to do it, but that she had never given gifts outside of school. So at this point, the detective asked Haley if she knew anything that occurred between the victim in this case and Angela Berlaca. And Haley said she knew very little. and said the prior day the staff was informed about Angela's investigation and the victim was heavily... involved in that and had talked to her about it. The detective then asked if she could think of any other student that could potentially be involved with Angela and Haley said she heard of another student being involved but she had no idea if the relationship was inappropriate or not. So the detective then asked her when the last time she saw the victim was and Haley said it was approximately a week prior to the current time when he's conducting this interview. And that that was when the victim told her he was for sure going to California. The detective then asked why allegations of an inappropriate relationship were even being made specifically against Haley. And he said at this point, she kind of laughed and
49:41 chuckled and said she had a few ideas why that would be. And she went on to say the victim is very sociable and very popular at that school and that he is, quote, very good with his words, unquote. And that she personally had seen it in action when the victim would talk to girls in class. So, y'all, she's essentially saying this victim is a big flirt. and would flirt with everybody, and teachers were not exempt from that. And maybe students saw this and got the wrong idea. And Haley continued on and said the previous semester, the victim's attendance was not good. And he had voiced to Haley that going to college was very important to him.
50:22 She said she helped with his attendance by opening her classroom to him after school to make up his attendance. And she felt because she was doing that, that's how the rumors started between herself and the victim. She said she's equally close to her soccer students, but because they are girls and not a guy, no one talks about that and that she had confided in other teachers and was told that all these younger teachers go through this. They all get accused of having these sexual situations with students. The detective then asked Haley if the victim knew where she lived. She said he wouldn't have any reason to know, but that he may know that she lives in an apartment complex. But even if he knows that, he wouldn't know her actual apartment number. The detective then brings up the fact that during their investigation, it had been brought up there was a video of Haley performing oral sex on the victim. And he asked if that were true.
51:23 And Haley adamantly denied it, saying absolutely not. That is one thing I will 1000% deny. She said it was insane. That would even be alleged. The detective asked her if there were any sexual relationships going on between the victim before or after he turned 18. And she said no, and was very adamant that the victim had never come to her apartment and that she had never had a relationship outside of a student teacher relationship with this guy. Now, during the interview, the detective also asked Haley for the key to her residence because, remember, they got a search warrant for that residence and they're going to search it.
52:04 And she said, oh, I don't have a key. It's a keypad and you enter a code. And she did supply that code to her apartment. So. I got to say, she is being cooperative. The detective then said, we still need to do a forensic examination on your cell phone as well. So can you go ahead and give me the passcode for that? Which she did. And at that point, he ended the interview. Now, Haley left the car and went with her friend that she had arrived with. And at that point, the detective gets a call from the detectives that are actually at her apartment conducting that search. And they say they had found a letter that is very interesting. And I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to read you the letter now. It says, you're probably going to think this is cheesy as hell, but you know, I'm a words girly. I know, I know you aren't dying in literally just a text away, but I had little notes from people when I was away studying abroad. and I would read them whenever I was feeling lonely. It goes on to say, I'm really proud of you for choosing yourself in this situation, even though I know it was tough. It seems kind of crazy to look back and realize in my two years of knowing you, our relationship has changed so much. I'm really glad I had the opportunity to teach you your sophomore year, because without that, we would have never really been chill with each other. I know there's some random times, days where you decide to hate me, But that's okay because I know at the end of the day, we're solid
53:35 most of the time. I genuinely feel like you're a brother. Weird. Maybe cousin or stepbrother. And truly never thought I would be in this situation with you. But I'm glad to have you as someone who I think would be in my life for a while. Even if we don't talk all the time now or even at all when you're in college, I feel like our little bond will always be there. So just hit me up. when you want to get wasted at a bar together, and I'll send you my wedding invite one day. I know you are nostalgic AF, so I hope you look back on our time as a good one. And no, this isn't me saying goodbye, but I know things will be different. But don't forget our first pickleball hangout and how you wouldn't get out of my car for like three hours, or our Sonic run after your state game, or all the random times you quote, fell asleep on my couch, Just waiting for me to invite you into my room, laugh out loud. Oh, our go-kart experience plus our word games at Shake Shack. You know, for this relationship being extremely wrong, I feel like we have made the most out of it.
54:45 And I'm glad I got to come with you to your tattoos appointment, even though you just wanted me to bring you food. All of our car hangouts were fun, too. And then she has in parentheses for eating and other stuff. Laugh out loud. Or our night adventures in California. Like there's truly no other student. And then parentheses. I know so wrong that I wouldn't want to do all this with. Don't let all this go to your head, but I'm glad you're in my life. Okay. Ooh, what the fuck? I mean, you've been to my parents' house in their closet. Insane. I feel like you've opened up to me about a lot of things and I'm glad I've been able to be someone you can talk to. Even though sometimes my advice or input is unsolicited, I'm happy we can talk about things. You know you can always reach out to me if you need anything. I won't lie, I would always look forward to when you would come over. Not even to do anything, but just to hang. I feel like I got good at being by myself, but even with you, it was still just easy. Whether it was to talk, watch movies, make pizza, or do other stuff, I'm glad we still have those memories. And lastly, it kind of hit me that it'll be weird not seeing you during Storm the Halls, and even weirder not seeing you on the field. I'm sure you knew this, but you're the reason I went to all the games I could.
56:10 Before I knew you well, I'd only go to a few games a season, but last season I wanted to go to as many as I could, and I'm glad I did because those were the last ones I'd be at for you. It's not going to be the same, but I'm happy knowing you're happy with wherever you're at. I'm proud of you and all you have done and all you continue to do. This is just the beginning, even though you will go on to your grave saying we aren't peers. I'm glad to have you as a friend. Like, bro, you are the first person that got me to smoke weed. You're always going to have that title. So we're locked for real. And maybe one day we'll be able to go to the aquarium. I'm here whenever. Even though you never say it back, I love you and wish you the best. Always love HB. And of course, that stands for Haley Beck. I mean, that's enough right there, right?
57:03 She said a lot in that fucking letter. That's all I got to say. I mean, that is some pretty damning evidence. You could tell right there there's a whole lot going on just outside of a teacher-student relationship with these two. So it's interesting that while they're conducting the search... And they find this letter. It was actually, y'all, inside of a blue folder that they opened up that was in the laundry area of the home. They also find a handwritten note listing all of Haley's usernames and passwords for several of her social media accounts. So they photograph that and take that into evidence. And y'all, that's like finding a goldmine of information that you don't have to dig up. Also, while they're doing this search, Haley and her friend actually walk into the house and police are like, whoa, you can't come in here. We're during a search warrant.
57:58 And she was cooperative. She said she thought she could come home during the search. They explained you can't do that. And she said, well, can I get a glass of water? They allowed her to do that. And this girl was acting as if nothing was wrong. Like she was totally cool, calm and collected. But as she's walking back out the door, she looks at one of the detectives inside of that apartment. And she says, oh, shit, you were the one that was sitting behind us at the movie theater. And I thought that was kind of funny. So while they are working on the extraction of Haley's cell phone, they also do a search of her vehicle. And they use what's called a white light when they do this. And it's going to pick up on if there are any, I guess you could say, biological substances in the vehicle. And sure enough, they find some in the backseat of Haley's vehicle.
58:50 So they take out a razor knife and they cut a piece of carpeting out where this biological substance was. And they're going to see if they can find DNA on it, right? Now, also around this time, another tip is placed on that tip line for the Peoria Police Department. Now, the individual that called in this tip left a message. And this was on August 4th of 2025. And the caller identified themselves as Jessica. And the message said the following. It said that she actually had a conversation with Haley about how she felt about Haley's relationship with the kids and that it was inappropriate. And she went on to say, however, I know that last year's team had a lot of information on the boy she had an inappropriate teacher-student relationship with.
59:38 And she went on to say he would like to meet her during non-school hours or And she was definitely Snapchatting him. So about an hour and a half later, a police officer hears that message into that tip line and he follows up immediately. He calls Jessica's phone. She doesn't answer. He leaves a voicemail asking for her to call him back. And about five minutes later, he does indeed speak to Jessica. And she explains to him that her daughter was a former student at that high school. she'd actually graduated the year before. And while at that high school, she played varsity soccer all four years. And that soccer team was coached by Haley Beck. And she added that during her daughter's senior year, she was in apparently one of Haley's classes in which Haley taught at the school. And she went on to tell the officer some similar things to what She said on that voicemail that Haley never acted like an authority figure with these kids.
1:00:38 She was too friendly, and she was more like a peer to these kids than an authority figure. She said Haley would gossip and worry about what the students thought about her, and it seemed she was trying to be their friend more than anything else. And Jessica also described Haley as being very manipulative. And she said in one particular text with her daughter, Haley accused her daughter of being bratty. She also said her daughter would say that Haley's behavior was weird and said she personally observed and she mentioned the victim. And she said she would observe this boy coming to soccer practice when he had no reason to be there. And also to lock ins that were held specifically for the girls soccer team. as well as practices that were held on weekends and Christmas breaks.
1:01:29 She said her daughter had also told her about some strange things that occurred during psychology class at the school. She said this same boy and Haley would have weird arguments from time to time, and according to her, or according to her daughter, it was almost like a boyfriend arguing with a girlfriend, not a teacher arguing with a student. She went on to say on one occasion her daughter overheard Haley and the male student arguing in the hallway, and during this particular argument, her daughter overheard the boy say something along the lines of, quote, it would wreck your career, not mine, unquote, which she derived as some sort of lover spat where this teacher could get in trouble if people found out. Mom also mentioned to the police officer Haley would have some of the football players come swim at her apartment pool. She also mentioned just a few days prior to speaking to this officer, her daughter had told her that Haley had overheard one of her daughter's friends say they knew Haley had given a male student head. And they mentioned the victim's name. And the officer, he's taking down all this information. He's getting the name of the friends, sorting all of this out.
1:02:40 And the mom continues to say that the way the kids knew about Haley giving this student head was that it was shared in a group chat over Snapchat. She said that her daughter is currently an adult, but she's pretty sure her daughter would talk to police. And I got to say, if mom called the tip line, she probably gave her daughter a heads up and her daughter probably knows that she's going to have to call the police or talk to the police. And the officer said, yeah, we're going to need to talk to your daughter because everything you're giving us is secondhand information. We need to Kind of get it out of the horse's mouth. And with that, the interview was ended. And with that, we're going to end this episode. And I'll be back next episode to give you even more details. Probably the most offensive.
1:03:29 details of all the text messages are going to blow your mind between these teachers and this particular victim. So I'll bring you that. Thank you so much for listening.
