“Hello there. Thank you for coming. What can I get for you today?”
HIRO AKASHI
“I would like a caramel coffee, hot with cream, and he’ll take a scotch straight up.”
STAFF 1
“I’m sorry, but we don’t serve liquor here.”
REN BLACK
“Don’t mind him. He prides himself in being a smart ass. I’ll have a simple, hot, black coffee, thank you.”
HIRO AKASHI
“Never thought you and simple went well together.”
STAFF 1
“Thank you. That will be five twenty. You can pick up your order at the end of the counter.”
[Black and Akashi walk over to the pick-up counter after paying.]
HIRO AKASHI
“Come on, that's funny, or is your sense of humor reserved only for jokes you make?”
REN BLACK
“Yes, let me just add a little liquid courage, and there you have it.”
HIRO AKASHI
“You can’t drink on an empty stomach. I’m going to get some food to go with your morning brew.”
REN BLACK
“Oh, this is starting to turn into a real date.”
HIRO AKASHI
“Real date? I’d like to think I could provide something better than coffee.”
REN BLACK
“Is that an invitation?”
HIRO AKASHI
“And if it is?’
REN BLACK
“Yes.”
HIRO AKASHI
“Yes, what?”
REN BLACK
“Yes, I look forward to a proper date.”

“(Sigh) You’re incorrigible.”
