GABRIEL

We need to make sure the boat is big enough to carry all of us and small enough to avoid detection.

TRAGEDY

Right! Got it! Not too big, not too small, just right. Like the three bears.

GABRIEL

Yes, Tragedy, just like the bears. Now then, Goldilocks, we must move fast before security comes pestering us, like a cloud of flies. Not that we couldn’t handle it, but there is no need to draw unwanted attention.

TRAGEDY

Got it! I came out here earlier, and the humans that live here are far away, soooo this should be easy peasy.

GABRIEL

Let’s hope so. I am sure Black has gotten my letter by now, and I don’t have a moment to spare to revel in my imagination of his enraged reaction. I guarantee it is a sight to behold.

TRAGEDY

You have some strange hobbies, my friend.

GABRIEL

That’s rich coming from you, my dear.

TRAGEDY

I know, right? (Laughs) Still creepiness aside, you are alright in my book, you know, like a brother.

GABRIEL

A brother? Interesting.

RED

“You seem unsure.”

TRAGEDY

Unsure, uneasy, unhappy? One of those, right?

GABRIEL

You wound me, dear sister. Are we not already family?

RED

While I hate to break up this touching family moment, we still have a deadline to keep. Unless you two want to forgo this little quest, then, by all means, keep the play going.

GABRIEL

Well then, Tragedy if you please?

TRAGEDY

Don’t worry, I got this!

RED

I’m not sure if the wind is loud enough to conceal that… cacophony of broken metal.

TRAGEDY

“I wanted it to be a surprise, but I already took care of the flies, and down, down, down they went. One by one.”

GABRIEL

Good job, but in the future, please check with one of us before having an unscheduled snack.

RED

Growing children have big appetites, my dear, but Gabriel has a point. If you have too many snacks, there will be no room for dinner, and Father has something very special planned for you.

TRAGEDY

“Really?! Oh, this is exciting! Okie dokie! Smoky, I got this.

GABRIEL

Tragedy, could you get the ropes?

TRAGEDY

Alright! You got it, boss man!

RED

Our guest is secured.

GABRIEL

Everything is flowing just as I planned.

TRAGEDY

And a one and a two and a - Tada! Perfect Score! Did you see that, brother? Did you see it! Did ya? Did ya? Did ya? I had a perfect landing! A 10 out of 10, if I do say so myself!

GABRIEL

Yes, I see, now if you could be so kind as to grab the rope and tie us off we can continue with our venture.

TRAGEDY

“You’re such a spoilsport. This is not kind, he’s not nice at all. He’s such a big meanie!”

RED

Come now, our guest is getting restless.

TRAGEDY

Ya, Ya, Ya, I get it, I get it.  Man, this kid is a real killjoy.

GABRIEL

All we need to do is get the key and set the scene.”

RED

This is progressing swimmingly, is it not?

GABRIEL

“I assure you this night will be fruitful.”

TRAGEDY

“Let’s see which one’s the magic one. Tap-tap, tap-tap.”

TRAGEDY

"After you.”

GABRIEL

“You do have your uses, Tragedy. Now, be a good girl and scamper off and find a room for our little guest, hmm?”

TRAGEDY

“Just so you know, I have lots of uses, Gabie! Just watch. I’ll show you! Stupid Gabie can’t do anything on his own. He always has to have help from everybody else. In fact, he even had to call me out here. What a little bastard that guy is.”

RED

"Ah, that’s funny."

“Now you’ve gone and done it. You upset the baby.”

GABRIEL

“She will be fine. We have more important things at hand. I’ll just get her some trinket, or whatever will appease the little demon.”

RED

“You should really spend some quality time with her. You know how she adores you.”

GABRIEL

“Adores? More like derides. She sets my teeth on edge, my friend.”

RED

“What am I going to do with you, I swear?”

GABRIEL

“Can we circle back to this later? Our guest still needs some looking after.”

RED

“She hasn’t moved since I picked her up.”

TRAGEDY

“I found one Gabie! Top of the stairs and end of the hall! If you please?”

GABRIEL

“Ladies first.”

RED

“Your generosity always surprises me.”

TRAGEDY

Oh, What’s this? It’s a book! A book is not interesting. Ah, a bear, I love bears.

RED

“Look at you, Tragedy, what a great job. I think she will feel more at home here.”

GABRIEL

“Did you remember the mirror?”

RED

“Who do you think you are talking to?”

TRAGEDY

“Guys, I think something is wrong with her?”

GABRIEL

“It’s a simple question. Do you have it, yes or no?”

Tragedy

“I don’t think she’s breathing.”

RED

“GABRIEL…”

TRAGEDY

“GUYS!?”

      GABRIEL                                RED

“What is it, Tragedy!?”              “What is it, Tragedy!?”

TRAGEDY

“She’s dead! Like, real dead. Dedi-dead, like not coming back dead. She’s definitely, DEFINITELY DEAD.”

GABRIEL

That’s impossible! That spell was to seal away any cultivation she may have had. This BITCH can’t have been a decoy!

TRAGEDY

What kind of parents would sell their child off to a bunch of monsters in the first place?”

“Tut tut tut, no matter how long humans live, they still treat their offspring more like property than people, and ohhh boy do I know that feeling.

RED

“Are the parents aware of this? Probably.”

GABRIEL

“It didn’t appear so. Still, we should make sure. Tragedy, we need you to go and watch them.”

TRAGEDY

“I’m a master at hiding. Consider it done, Gabie.”

RED

“Now that’s the best course of action.”

GABRIEL

“Where is it? How could this happen? They had assured us that their child was the key keeper. Even the proper markings were on her skin!”

RED

This is not the end of the world… yet. Right now, you need to focus on what to do next.

“Aww, Gabe falling short of your master plan?”

GABRIEL

“I believe you once told me that all eyes and no sight were one of my weaknesses.”

RED

“It’s because you are cutting corners, my Kohai.”

TRAGEDY

“Shame, shame, Gabie, and here I thought you had everything planned out.”

GABRIEL

“I’m not cutting corners, you told me to be innovative, to leave my mark.”

RED

“Look, I let go of your leash some time ago, and I haven’t smacked you on the nose yet, so show me what you got.”

TRAGEDY

“Yeah, she did let go of the leash. Wait, what? There was a leash? Wait! Gabie has a leash? *gasp* How did I not know this?!”

GABRIEL

“This might shock you, but I am not so shortsighted to the point that I would not have a few tricks up my sleeve.”

RED

"Well, aren't you just full of surprises? Now, back to the Fujiwara Clan. They have been a thorn in our side for as long as I can remember."

GABRIEL

“Their senseless killing has all but brought our species to the brink of extinction. Now they are doing this to themselves. Ironic, isn't it?”

RED

“They all hail themselves as demon slayers, heroes of the people, but in reality, they are just frightened little humans, arrogantly playing Gods.”

TRAGEDY

“I wouldn’t fear the Fujiwaras if I were you. The Minagawa Clan… now that is some delicious power. I could just eat them up.”

GABRIEL

“The Minagawas have thrived, and although their reach spans the globe, they are still only humans, and their strength lies more in numbers rather than divine power.”

RED

“Your naive and narrow field of vision never fails to amuse me, Gabe. As always, you fail to see the full picture and the concept behind the masterpiece. The limitations of your so-called genius leave much to be desired.”

TRAGEDY

“Silly Gabie, blind as a red bat.”

GABRIEL

“Red bat, you continue to astound me. I told you to never call me that.”

TRAGEDY

“I would have to care about your opinions and well… I know this might surprise you, but I just like to torment you. That look on your face. Ohhhhh!”

GABRIEL

“Will you please do something with your pet? I still don’t understand why we keep her around.”

TRAGEDY

“Let’s get some popcorn because Gabie is about to break!

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

All the king's horses and all

                   King's men couldn't put Gabie

                       back together again.

GABRIEL

Torment me no longer, seed of insanity, your mere presence nauseates me.”

RED

“You're terrible with kids, aren't you? I mean, you did kill one just then.”

GABRIEL

“There is a hole I keep reserved just for her, and I assure you it is more than six feet under.”

TRAGEDY

“Oh no no no Gabie, you got it all turned upside down, like when Alice fell down the rabbit hole… That hole was dug for you, Gabie. Nice and cozy.”

RED

“Oh for fuck’s sakes... As much as I would love to see that, we all have a job to do. Come Tragedy, you can play with your brother another time.

TRAGEDY

“It’s ok, I know where he sleeps. See you later, Gabie.”

GABRIEL

“Are you just going to let her get away with that? She just threatened to kill me!”

TRAGEDY

“No, no, no.. Yeah, yeah, Yeah I definitely did.”

RED

“Meh, what happened to all that bravado?”

TRAGEDY

“To quote one of my favorite movie husbands, 'Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.'”

GABRIEL

“Do you think I am afraid of you?”

TRAGEDY

“Do you want to be? I can show you a really neat trick, but you can only see it once, my dear brother.”

RED

"Huh... Too much tension, I swear. I thought I told you guys to get along? I mean, we’re a team, not enemies. Now, chop chop, time’s wastin’.”

TRAGEDY

“Oh, candy! For me!? Thank you, Red! Oh, and before I forget, we are facing off against our bitter rivals in the games tonight.”

RED

“Ohh~ That’s tonight? Don’t forget to bring your friend. I’ll see you then.”

TRAGEDY

“I’m on it! I know she will be ready to go! I shall leave with a little song to remember me by.”

Ring around the rosy, a pocketful of posies, ashes ashes we all, fall down.

GABRIEL

“If she didn’t have her uses I would have disposed of her some time ago.”

RED

“Trust me when I say, you don’t want to be on your sister's bad side.”

GABRIEL

“It is she who should be wary of me. I do not get frightened easily.”

RED

“Your delusions of grandeur have their charms from time to time. But nonetheless, I am curious to know why you sent that letter. Kinda risky, don’t you think?”

GABRIEL

“I consider it to be a courtesy. Besides, you always dangle a carrot in front of an ass to get it to move.”

RED

“Don’t do anything stupid, or that ass will kick you in the face. Quite literally. Do you understand?”

GABRIEL

It was a necessity. It is something I live for. From that first look of despair that crossed his face, I was hooked. I want to see how much more I can take away before he breaks.

RED

It’s good that you found your niche. You have come a long way since your awakening. I am proud of your achievements, even if I don’t show it at times. It’s in my nature to be caustic.”

GABRIEL

“This is just the second act! I have so much potential to show! This is just the beginning! I have many things planned for our would-be heroes!”

RED

"I know your potential, my dear Gabriel. But we cannot afford to be reckless, now, can we?”

GABRIEL

“Even though tonight may not have gone as planned, it is not a complete waste of our time.”

RED

“A teacher once said, 'There are those who have quick intelligence and those who must withdraw, and take time to think things over.'

This does not imply you are lacking intelligence, but that demonstrating wisdom is an admirable quality.

Patience is a virtue, my dear. May these words remind you that your abilities are never once questioned.

I trust and believe in you, but please do exercise caution.”

GABRIEL

“Enough! This would go faster if you helped me find the scroll.”

RED

“We have checked every damn room, and it's not here! I will go and distract Black and his new sacrifice so you can finish whatever the hell it is that you are doing here.”

GABRIEL

“I’m sure you wouldn’t understand me even if I cared to explain it to you.

RED

“Poor little Gabe. Always crying for attention or his mother's breast. You are no Moriarty, my dear.”

GABRIEL

“A fact I am painfully aware of. If you are going to go, then be gone. I will find out where the key is and meet up with you on the mainland.”

RED

“It’s been a while since the fox came out to play. I wonder if those old wounds will bleed once again.

Have fun, Gabie, and should you fail, I will revel in your despair and savor it like a fine wine.”
