Love Dax!
I’ve listened to this podcast for a while and Dax takes the same approach with all of his guests, he’s genuinely curious about the details of their lives and brings up important and polarizing social questions. I enjoy what is usually, respectful debate. The recent issues with JVN just prove that anyone who dares question anything trans is immediately condemned and for that I’m so disappointed. The stigma around free speech when it comes to questioning anything trans, was proven to be true. If you want more knowledge, understanding, and acceptance these conversations need to be front and center, especially in places like this with a diverse group of listeners. The point Dax many about Women was spot on, we’ve fought for centuries and I’ll tell you something..We are not tired! I thought JVN was so well spoken on the issue, he came with some facts and I was genuinely interested in hearing his POV and I really would have loved to hear more. The response to this is so inflated and disturbing. Any encounter I’ve seen with trans activists or ally’s is just one big bully train…have fun getting anyone to take you seriously if this is the response.

Wow. These recent reviews are unhinged. You all know it is a free podcast and you aren’t obligated to listen, right? Dax is a great interviewer. Part of that is asking questions and engaging people in interesting, sometimes controversial, conversations. He is not obligated to agree with every opinion that comes out of his guests’ mouths nor to give them a platform to download all of their opinions without any challenge or follow up questions. If that is how Dax handled the show, it would be disingenuous and boring. These days, there are are too many people that refuse to share their actual opinions for fear that their opinions will not uphold the most politically correct thinking of the moment or that they will be tossed out of their idealogical “clan” or that they will get fired. Dax is a breath of fresh air.
First time listener
I don't know what made me decide to listen to armchair for the first time the day the JVN episode came out. But I did, and I was riveted. Not only by JVN who spoke so passionately and articulate but also by Dax and Monica for addressing something that they disagreed with and still listening and diving deep with an open mind. We all need to be having these uncomfortable converaations with people we don't see eye to on and not get backlash for asking questions. BRAVO subscribed!!!!
Jonathan is a misogynist
How dare Jonathan use the word trans-misogynist. How dare he take away the word from women, which Dax correctly stated, are the longest and greatest minority since the beginning of time. Thank you Dax for gently pushing him on his opinion. When he said “I wish that people were as passionate about little kids being able to be included or grow up as they were about fictitious women’s fairness in sports.” I about LOST MY MIND. Why do you think Title IV was created. ALSO, little people are able to play together. They’re given equal opportunity and most child sports are co-ed. It’s when puberty kicks in that we separate play to make competition fair. Funny how when he was challenged he became “tired” and began to cry and whine about his fight. I wish that Monica would have corrected him in the after show on so many of his false comments. Particularly, the one about Leah Thomas. The lies and statistics spewing from his mouth were appalling. Thank you for showing that all are open to have an opinion and all are open to be wrong.
Love this podcast. 💛
I really appreciate Dax and Monica staying somewhat moderate on most issues, and being respectful of the fact that many of their millions of listeners have varying political, religious and social views. I appreciate their bravery in going into the weeds on topics that many people have questions about! We can’t avoid the tough questions- we have to talk about it and power through to get to some form of unity and respect as a society. This podcast is one of my favorites.
These Conversations are Important
I do not agree with Dax a lot of the time, however he does voice what a lot of others are thinking. While that doesn’t mean these comments are correct, sometimes it can be important to have them voiced aloud so that others, like Jonathan Van Ness, can shut them down through well articulated facts. I think Armchair Expert does a great job bringing on people from all different experiences, and as a previous review stated, releasing the episodes despite how Dax may look because these conversations are IMPORTANT. If you have only read the articles in relation to the Van Ness episode, I encourage you to also listen to the full version and hear how Van Ness treats Dax with love while also respectfully shutting him down.
