Dax is an intelligent, well-prepared, and engaging interviewer. Therer is NO need for a "co-host," particularly one who adds nothing to the discourse. Monica Padman is limited to "Yeah," "Wow,", "Exactly," and "Oh my god." I get it when a podcast like Smartless has three guys, because, none of those three are polished interviewers. Shepard, however, IS and including Padman in the interview only detracts from the quality. If Dax feels obligated to keep Monica on board, the logical way to do this is limit her to producing or to the fact check. She is an interview killer.

I drive a lot each day to and from work. Thank God for this podcast! I love spending 3 days a week with Dax and Monica. I’m not a political person and I’m glad they keep the topics and discussions political free. I may not always agree with what is said but that the greatest thing about this planet that we all have different opinions. Thank you for keeping me company. Keep up the great content!

Oh MY GOSH , listening to Armchair Expert has been so fun . I find Dex to be so interesting and takes real interest while asking questions I would want to ask the guests . Monica is sweet and endearing ( little naïve , but refreshing in all the best ways ) these two really complement each other & have a good time . I love this podcast & You will too

I never knew a lot about Hunter Biden beyond the headlines. What a meaningful episode for thousands of people to hear his story authentically. Thank you for doing this interview and for having difficult conversations.

I really learned a lot about parenthood this Darby Saxbe episode. Actually I learn from EVERY episode. I’m always saying, “I heard about it on a podcast.” I feel like Monica when I’m not included with my friend group or invited to things with them, but I should really feel more like Dax. As I get older (53), I do have times when I’m like who cares? But I’m not included with friends, I feel sad, but I am growing! Thank you

This show brings humor, insights, information, and emotional/mental health content that helps to unify and bring understanding. I am so grateful for what yall have created with this pod. It’s a show I can share with my friends, parents, or even boss. The negative reviews (especially toward Monica) deserve a special place in hell. Yall are lovely and share valuable comments and insights. Thanks for your vulnerability and efforts - and also to everyone behind the mic who makes this show happen.

This was my favorite episode by far. He is a hoot!!

I really want to love Ezra, and a lot of what he says makes sense, but I will never understand an antizionist Jew. I can understand an anti-current Israeli govt perspective, but not an anti-Israel as a country existing period perspective. And, defending Piker who has said that America deserves 911 is equally extreme and unacceptable.

No more Wondery? Can’t listen ad free? Now in Audible? Love to know what is up in the land of the pod over there so we know where to go.

Dax is so intelligent, inquisitive & open minded. His recall of locations (specifically roadways) is impressive. And his banter with Monica is so much fun! Is there such thing as binge listening? I can’t get enough!

Armchair Expert is the only podcast I’ve followed faithfully from the very beginning, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed every single episode. It’s introduced me to artists I never expected to appreciate, taught me so much through its expert guests, and broadened my perspective in a way that’s made me more informed and empathetic. I often find myself aligning more with Dax’s viewpoints, but I truly value Monica’s perspective as well—she’s helped me see the world in new and important ways. Thank you for everything you do.
