Automatically adding guests to episode pages on import

Set up a guest's profile before their episode comes out, tell Podpage the episode number they'll be on, and we attach them to the episode page automatically the moment we import it. Pair it with guest email alerts and the guest is notified too — all hands-free.

Auto-attaching guests to upcoming episodes is available on the Elite plan.

How to pre-attach a guest to an upcoming episode

  1. In your dashboard, go to Episodes → Guests. Create the guest's profile if it doesn't exist yet — manually or via your guest intake form.
  2. On the guest, click Attach to future episode.
  3. Enter the episode number the guest will appear on. If your show uses seasons, still enter just the episode number — for season 5, episode 13, enter "13".
  4. When we import an episode with that number, the guest is attached automatically and their info appears on the episode page.

Important: This only happens when the episode is first imported. Set the episode number before the episode is published — we don't re-check existing episodes. For episodes that are already on your site, attach the guest from the episode's edit page instead.

Where the episode number comes from

Podpage matches against the episode number in your RSS feed — the number your podcast host sets in the feed's episode-number tag. If your feed doesn't include numbers, we try to infer them from your episode titles. See How Podpage gets episode numbers from your feed, and make sure the number you enter matches what your host publishes.

Tip: Turn on Guest Alerts under Autopilot → Email Guests so pre-attached guests automatically get an email when their episode goes live.
