This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. Erica is extremely professional, has a great dry sense of humor and navigates the difficult truths woven into all of the cases beautifully. Thank you for being you Erica, let the trolls roll off. :)

True Crime standout

Erica delivers amazing story telling and is fabulous at honoring the victims. She isn’t afraid to tackle challenging issues and the psychology of the crimes. The show is phenomenally researched. And Erica’s voice is so griping.

If you like a smooth Southern accent…

…listen to this show. Erica’s voice is like butter. Butter melting on a biscuit fresh out of the oven, that is. I mean you don’t even really need to like true crime. That said, Erica is an excellent storyteller. She keeps the focus on the victims (as it should be), and tells their stories with so much empathy that sometimes it’s a little heartbreaking. Erica has an incredible researcher, too - shout out to Haley - they make a great team. Love them and love this show. 11/5 stars.

So good.

Erica is an amazing storyteller, but she also gets down to the nitty gritty of the perpetrator’s mindset while still honoring the memory of the victims.

Nuanced Story Telling

First of all, let me say that Erica has the voice of a Southern angel! It’s a little raspy, melodic and very comforting to me. Listening to Erica helps me stay connected to my GA roots even though I live up North now. I love the way the stories are written and told, with detail, care and nuance. Also, I really appreciate the trigger warnings at the beginning of episodes. Thank you to the SFTC team. I love y’all!

Hi Erica!!!! I love your podcast!!! I wonder if what people mean to say when they say “keep politics out of it” is when you share your opinion about said politics. Sometimes it almost feels a bit like we are being lectured instead of just the facts of the case (the story and how things happened) and then letting the listeners make up their minds about how they feel about it. I think a lot of us view podcasts as an escape from having everyone’s opinions about current issues drilled into our brains on social media. That said, it’s your podcast and you can conduct it how you like (obviously😊). I love when you give a history of the town and all that! Keep up the great storytelling!

Love her story telling so much!!!

Erica’s story telling is well researched and well thought out. I get SO excited when a new episode pops up. Even when she covers a well known case, she manages to find new information and it seems brand new. Her voice is so soothing and her rationale always logical. She shows the utmost respect for victims. Her voice and perspective soothe my soul and make me feel like there is some hope for the future. Thank you Erica!!!

My Favorite True Crime Pod

SFTC is my absolute favorite true crime podcast. Erica’s cases are well researched and delivered with a level of kindness and clarity that I find lacking in many other podcasts.

One of my favorites!

This is one of the few true crime pods that I will listen to. One of issues that I have with the true crime genre in general is how cases are told in sensationalized ways. However, in Southern Fried True Crime, Erica tells these stories with such compassion for the victims and their families, and I also enjoy her discussions of the broader implications of the crimes committed. I appreciate the context that she provides in each story, and the historical information of the towns & cities that she covers.

Fave Podcast

I love Erica’s voice and delivery! She tells the story and gives background information on the people involved. It is that background information that explains human behavior and the impact that early experiences in our lives have on how we react and behave later in life.

My favorite podcast

I was hooked after the very first episode I listened to. A friend shared it with me. I love the backstory of the towns and people she covers. I actually went to Little Rock after how she talked about the town and made it sound so charming. She gives the facts. I could listen to Erica all day! Thank you!!
