Imaginary Haters

Imaginary Haters
"Haters" are they real or Imaginary?  What happens in our spaces when we interpret objective feed or criticism as "Hate".  Kim Derrell Swift from Houston, Texas said: "This is going to be valuable, you need to acknowledge threats or at least be aware of them and that's exactly what this topic is about" We're in living in a hyper sensitive era, people are walking on eggshells tip toeing around racism/sexism and others are like bulls in a china shop-they can't help themselves they're setting off all of the isms and phobias intentionally.  Then we have a segment of our society that craves attention feels entitled and can't receive objective feedback.  The moment someone voices a different point of view their tagged as a hater.  I remember sitting in meetings and if you had a POV that wasn't aligned with popular you were labels as negative.  I'd watch as people would sit in meetings nod their heads in agreement then leave and complain about how stupid they though the idea was.  I've always been of the belief that a company hired me for my IP so when I was sitting at the table I diplomatically shared my  POV.       If you're in business you've gotta learn how to navigate the landscape especially if you plan on being around for the long haul.  In this solo episode I talk about the misconceptions of "Haters".  This is definitely an important conversation for aspiring entrepreneurs, managers, leaders, volunteers anyone who is charged with the responsibility of leading a team or considering leading a team may find some in this episode. Enjoy the episode share it with your friends write review and rate us on iTunes.  I promise I won't view it as "Hate".  Feedback is the breakfast of Champions.    --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/derek-oxley/support
