Lori grew up on Long Island, surrounded by the creativity, color, and pulse of New York City. Her dad worked in the Garment Center, and as early as she can remember, she was captivated by the fashion world and wanted to follow in his footsteps. Add to that, she always felt a little different, never quite fitting in, shy, introverted, and most at peace when she was creating. Graduating high school a year early, Lori spent every free moment in the art room, so she could attend her dream school, the Fashion Institute of Technology. While at FIT, she worked for designer, Donna Karan, which deepened her interest in design and fine craftsmanship. She went on to spend many years in the fashion and beauty industries, with global beauty leaders like L’Oréal and Estée Lauder, where I learned the art of luxury and the joy of making people feel beautiful. It was during Covid that Lori's life changed. Losing both her parents at the start of the pandemic, gave Lori a new outlook on life. No longer satisfied working in an office, and not fulfilling her dreams, Lori quit her corporate job and dove into her passion, art. Her parents has always instilled in her, the beauty and sweetness of life was more important than anything else. She was determined to live her life in "sweetness" to honor their memory and Sweet Life by Lori was born.
