How spam detection works for listener-submitted content

Every time a listener sends a message through your contact form or leaves a review on your website, Podpage automatically screens it for spam using Akismet, an industry-standard spam detection service. There's nothing to set up and no extra cost.

What happens to spam

  • Content that looks like spam is labeled as spam and kept out of your email — you won't get a notification for it.
  • Flagged content is still stored in your dashboard, so you can review it and rescue anything legitimate.

Where to find flagged content

  • Contact form messages: go to Engage Listeners → Contact Form → Messages. Spam messages are labeled, and you can click Not spam to restore one that was flagged by mistake.
  • On-site reviews: go to Reviews → All Reviews and open the Spam tab.

Tip: You can also block specific words or phrases from your contact form — see blocking words on your contact form.
