Listener Surveys let you ask your audience who they are, how they listen, and what they love about your show — data you can use to improve the show or share with sponsors. The questions were adapted, with permission, from Tom Webster's book The Audience is Listening.
Available on the Pro plan and above.
How to create a survey
- In your dashboard, go to Engage Listeners → Listener Surveys.
- Click New Listener Survey and give it a name, like "2026 Listener Survey."
- On the Setup tab, adjust the description and permalink, then turn on Collecting Responses? when you're ready to accept answers.
- Click Save Changes.
Choosing your questions
The Questions tab has a pre-built question bank organized into sections — Show Listening Habits, Listener Engagement, Listening Locations and Platforms, Episodes, General Podcast Listening, and Demographics. Toggle any question on or off.
You can also add up to five custom questions at the end. Custom questions get a free-text answer box — multiple choice isn't supported. Every question you include is required, so keep the survey short enough to finish in a few minutes.
Offering an incentive
On the Incentive tab, customize the thank-you email listeners receive after submitting. You can also attach an Incentive File — the email will include a download button, so exclusive content makes a great reward for completing the survey.
Sharing your survey
Every survey gets its own link at yourdomain.com/survey/your-permalink. Your most recent open survey also gets the short, memorable link yourdomain.com/survey — perfect for reading aloud on an episode.
Viewing responses
The Responses tab charts the answers as they come in, and you can click Export Responses anytime to download everything as a CSV. Turn on Email Notifications on the Setup tab if you'd like an email each time someone responds.
Tip: Close the survey by turning off Collecting Responses? once you have enough answers — the link will show it's closed, and your data stays available to export.
