58 So we see we go ahead and start the show? Shall we broadcasting live? You know it's weird. I take a week off and somehow the downloads keep on coming. It seems like you want Blockhead to say less, you know, like the older Dodge, less is more. But either way, I'm glad to be back with you. I've still got a little bit of a cough, but I'm over how much it was keeping me down last week. So thank you for those who were stopping by. You are listening to your favorite Blockhead, the only podcast in the podcasting world that can somehow incorporate the Peanuts comic strip one Man and then be talking about MMA and Warriors inside the Octagon the next I am your hostman name is Brian Little.
47 I thought, how would just throw the elephant in. The room right out there, because I go and look at my analytics, because you know, the Internet is a direct audit. I'll let you know how your show is doing. And I've still got downloads going on the week that I say that I'm sick, I can't be here. I don't know if that's just the Blockhead Nation going through the roll of deex, I don't know if that's you going in getting caught up on episodes. Either way, I do appreciate. It, but I thought i'd start off with that just to be on the fun and the lighthearted side as I try to get my rhythm back into doing this. So it's great to be back on the microphone. It's great to be talking to you again. Blockad Nation, and I guess what I'll do is it's not that this is recycled. It's just this is the type of content I would have gone into if I was feeling up to it last week, I would have gone into this.
39 About Snoopy, there was a comic strip that was released about two weeks ago on social media, and it was a familiar comic strip that I had grown up with. But it got me to thinking, when you think about Snoopy, I've always said that not only is he Charles Schultz's favorite character, it's not only that he is the most interchangeable character in the entire Peanuts comic strip. This guy literally can be anything you need him to be at any time. What do I mean when we talk about from a personality standpoint, there's multiple He got Snoopy, you got the World War One flying ace, you got Joe Coole, you got the masked Marvel, you got the leader of the Beagle Scouts, and you have many other personas that he would portray all through the comic strip. You'd see it through the TV shows as well. You saw a little bit of that with the movie. But I just kind of thought to myself when I saw this comic strip, when I revisited this, that it's not only that Snoopy can be any personality he needs. If the question ever came up was can Snoopy be an inanimate object? The answer is absolutely. He has actually been a helicopter.
07 In different circumstances. You go, how does he do that? Well, if you look where his ears are located, if they start spinning in a circular motion, and he gravitates off the ground, whether it's alone or with Woodstock or another character of the Peanuts. He has been a helicopter. I believe one of the episodes he did that for was It's Your First Kiss Charlie Brown, where he was giving live coverage from the floats and the homecoming parade from downtown. I believe that was where he started doing that. But again, he's portrayed literally as a helicopter, not spinning his arms around the backyard and going insane. He's literally gravitated off the ground, and he is able to look from an aerial view down on the Peanuts community.
01 But when you look at this. Comic strip, the question has to be asked, did he ever do a disservice to anyone as a helicopter, or as an enamate object or as a person? Yes, because in this comic strip, Linus has hitched a ride on the back of the helicopter. You got woodstock in the cockpit, and Snoopy's ears are spinning in a circular motion. And you can see it in the comic strip where it's saying, chop chop, chop chop. I think it was released on. February third, back in either the seventies or the eighties, not entirely sure which one this one's released on, but you can see Linus has hitched a ride and he's exclaiming, good grief, we're going down.
44 We're going down. Take it easy, take it easy. But all of a sudden, he changes his demeanor. Don't drop me there, don't drop me there, don't please, don't don't. He starts to plead them, don't do it, don't, don't, don't, And the next thing you know, Snoopy has dropped off his excess baggage. He has dropped Linus right into the arms of Sally Van pelt, who with stars in her eyes and hearts flowing out of her head, is exclaiming, O, my sweet baboo. And you can see Linus yelling, you stupid pilot, and you stupid helicopter. So has he ever done a disservice? Certainly as a helicopter, Snoopy has. He's always usually three steps ahead of anybody in the Peanuts gang. Even though Linus is extremely intelligent, he's the intellectual.
42 Of the few. As an name an object, he's two steps, three steps ahead of him. Snoopy has portrayed that many times. Now, if we're gonna go off the TV show, the intention last week was if you have not watched it's been fifty years since the TV special Be My Valentine Charlie Brown has been released. If you have yet to watch this, it is worth your time. There's one that dates back even further, called You're in Love Charlie Brown. Now, that one has always had a great opening for me blockad Nation, because you have that old belief of you pick up a flower and you pull its petals, and if you go in order of she loves me, she loves me, not when you get to the end of the flower you determine if said lover feels the same way about you. Well, the best part about this is Charlie Brown is doing this as he's thinking about the little red haired girl, and just as he gets to the end of the flower, Linus debunks everything about it. It's difficult for me to believe that this flower has a quote gift of prophecy.
05 Quite an intro for this sixties special. So if we're going off of what you should have been looking at in the month of February, then those two are. A dead giveaway. If you're going to go off one of the classics, You're in love Charlie Brown. If you're going off the seventies into the eighties, be my Valentine. Hitting a fifty year anniversary is quite a feat in itself. As you know, we have spoken with one of the original Peppermint Patty, Miss Patricia on this show, and she has actually played a role in many of these. So if you needed something that was of the Valentine's spirit, then that's a great way to go. If you're needing to look at the comic.
46 Strip that one is portrayed, I believe it's up on the Charles Schultz Museum of Snoopy as in an amate object, not just as different personalities. But that is what I would have been packaging for you and bringing to you last week block a nation. So as I get back into the swing of things, as I get back to my normal routine here, I hope you'll give a little bit of grace as we start into the second section. I share with you always the truth, which is the scripture of the day, and then we get into the wacky world of what's going on inside of the octagon with the ufc our scripture reading for this podcast comes from First John five.
49 Verse one. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone that loves him that begat love in him, also that is begotten of him. Now this is quite a simplistic beginning to First John chapter five, but if you look at the reflection for blue Letterbible dot Org, it talks about how simple this is. Not only that, but how wonderful and how amazing that true belief should be all that stands between us and the unquenchable love of God himself. That it is God himself who grants us that very faith to believe is too sublime for words, So blockad Nasan, praise him, praise him with your whole and regenerated hearts. If I can just take you back to Australia the pay per view from last week, you.
50 HAVEC three twelve. It's currently heating up in the octagon right now. But if I can just pause from it and look at this, you have your cone event, Zangwale with a pretty dominant performance over Taltiana Suarez. In other words, an undefeated streak has ended, and Zangwale is clearly the most dominant strawweight champion in the world and has been for quite some time. So moving forward, the question simply has if you can blockhead Nation, if you could raise your hand and comment and tell me who is next for Zanguele, at least in the strawweight division.
40 Who is it? Now? I'm talking to some of you that tune into my show, and I appreciate some of you might be casual and some of you might be die hard fans. If you can name off people in the strawweights right away, who's next for Zangwale for the champion? Can you tell me. Who do we know that's raised their hand and says, insert me into this discussion. Now, for a diehard fan like me, I can look at this and go, Okay, maybe we can throw Mackenzie Dern or Amanda Limos or Jessica Androge into that equation, just for somebody who's been following the sport. But when you just look at the rankings, you look at the performance she just had with an undefeated fighter in Tatianas Lorez, what.
27 Else do you have? All that's left is exactly what Zanguele asked for. It's for her to face the other champion for a super fight, I guess, for all of the gold, because you do have your strongweight champion, Zanguile, but you've also got your flyweight champion, the bullet Valin ta Chefchenko, and pound for pound, it's just those two.
08 What else is there to do. Except to say it's Valentina versus zang coming up next. For both straps a possible super fight. But what's the problem. Are either one of these truly superstars that meet the equivalency of a super fight or these just the two very best athletes in the world in the women's division of the UFC, And there's nothing else to pencil in. There's nobody else that will step up and say I'm next?
50 What do you got? Now? I'm kind of being. Facetious as I say this, because the sport will keep going and weigh on Zangwe and Valagie Chevchenko is an awesome fight on paper, But I simply ask that because is there anything else to do? And is America really paying attention? From a global perspective, there's plenty of countries that are paying attention to their fighter. China is certainly paying attention, but what about us over here in the Western hemisphere? Can you answer me that one? Moving on to the main event, Drecis Duplessi dominant performance against Sean Strickland, and now we have to ask the question.
43 What's left now? A fair one to throw out there would be hamsat Chamaiev deserves his chance to go for the strap against DDP. That's fair. But what happened in the cage? DDP puts out who else is there? Who else wants to step up? He's got somebody very specific in mind, who's cage side? Who's he got quite frankly the most popular and should be the most recognizable fighter in the world right now? His name is Alex Pereira. And this is almost theoretical. This is almost a ridiculous claim to make, But block d Nation, just as an MMA fan, I'm going to make it.
41 Why is it. The guys like DDP and Alex Perera, especially Alex, are not automatically looked at and seen as that's the number one guy in the world of MMA right now. That's the guy has taken every fight that's been put in front of him. He's destroyed the competition. He's won championships in two divisions already in a very short period of time, very quick turnaround, will not turn down a fight. Has already said that he will fight Drecis Dupless if he comes up to the division. He's already got a fight on the horizon. He's got UNCLIAV. So it's not like Alex Perera has nowhere to go. He's got one guy left in the lightweight division unless DDP crosses over. Now, what's the problem? This is an intellectual approach, This is also a nationalistic approach and a language barrier approach that I'm bringing you blockhead Nation. What could possibly make Alex Perera the biggest superstar in MMA right now? He's clearly the guy. He's the best. He is everything that an MMA fighter or an MMA fan would appreciate out of an MMA fighter. He's everything that the whole world should appreciate, and most couldn't even tell you who he is. They should.
13 Here's the problem. Alex Pereira is not wearing old glory when he goes out to the cage and he draws back his invisible bow and arrow and does his signature and shouts his phrase chauma when he's on the microphone, and he mentions through his interpreter, through his coach that he will take the fight with DDP since the challenge has been thrown out. I'll take it, let's fight, let's go. Everything you would want out of. An MMA fighter. And he is not wearing the fifty stars and the thirteen stripes. This is not Rocky Balboa putting on a Apollo Creeds trunks and going to face Ivan Drago. This is a Brazilian former kickboxer and a nightmare for anybody in the UFC.
12 And what he should be. Is the most recognizable fighter in the world. But America continues to set the standard. Every country will get behind their fighter. But why does America not care because he's not an Americanized fighter. This is a nationalism problem. This is a I can't get out of my own way because it's not an American guy up there. It's not John Jones. It's not somebody close enough to my ethnicity. Who's an irishman who's foul mouth. It's not Connor McGregor. It's not somebody that came over from another organization that proudly wears an American flag, known as Michael Chandler, or a guy who is a fake wanna be bad guy known as Kolbe Covington who's wearing old glory. If Alex Perira we're wearing.
04 This is a bold statement I'm making. If he were wearing Old Glory, he would be the most appreciated and most admired fighter in this world. But to us diehard MMA fans, this guy is exactly what we want. But because he doesn't speak English, he needs an interpreter, because he is wearing Brazil on his trunks, because he is not what we looked for. What we Americanized MMA fans who sit back with our arms crossed and go, okay, what. You got for me? This entitlement that we fans have that I'm willing to throw out out there. Alex Perira has done everything right and half of you, unless you follow the sport intently, don't even know who he is.
58 Dragons due Places. Facing Alex Pereira in a super fight similar to Zanguele and Valentier chef Chenko. These should be two super fights that has the whole world dialed in to be watching the UFC. And do you even care? It's a fair question, It's a fair assessment by me. I think Alex Perera is fantastic. I think dep had a almost flawless clinic that he puts on. But do you care? And why is it that you don't? Would it be different, hypothetically, if alex Pereira was wearing red, white and blue. Would it be different? If Frecas Duplessis was wearing old stripes?
43 Would it be different? If Zangwele and Valentier Chefchenko didn't have to have these language barriers and wore the American flag? Would you be more dialed in? Just like you are on opening day for baseball? Just like you are when the most ridiculous trade in the end, at least for the Dallas Mavericks ever happens and everybody is facing the shock value. Are you feeling the same way as you felt the last ten to twenty plus years of Jerry Jones taking away the very pride and soul of the great state of Texas known as the Dallas Cowboys. I'm just throwing all this out there. Why do we not care when Alex Peira is exactly what he should be, When Drecis Duplessis is exactly what he should be, and two titles could be on the line for a super fight, and these girls came up for a super fight and everybody goes, oh, that's nice, and we go about our day. Besides being a global phenomenon, America still sets the standard for the sport.
45 I'm just throwing it out Their blockhead nation makes you wonder what all their hard work is for, isn't it except for pride in their nation. It's sad to be saying that, But I'm asking you, for those that are listening, most of you are you UA fans, what is it that's going to make you care about this sport? What do I do all this interpreting for and dissecting an analysis for you when you do have three guys that are wearing old glory tonight in the APEX. That's certainly true if you just go to the main event. I mean, you got Edmund Schabazian who is a United States representative. Youve got Calvin Cater who's a United States representative.
32 You got Jared. Cannon here quite an athlete in the middleweight division. And yet why are you not tuned into the apex? So Alex is not wearing old glory, but Tonight's fighters are, and not one of these guys as a superstar, but. They should be. Now, when I say superstar, I'm talking about if we have to agree that Alex Pereira has done phenomenal records for the turnstiles, for the gates for people tune in to buy a ticket. But if I just go down the street and I mention all of this to anybody down, they go, Okay, that's great. But if I mentioned Connor McGregor, all of a sudden, your ears pop up.
15 If I mentioned John Jones. There's a bigger percentage of people who tune in for an American bad boy. I'm just throwing that out there. Makes you wonder what's all worth it? What a limp biscuit do it all for? If you know that in reference that I just threw out, If you may at this far and throw me a comment on Facebook or Instagram or our snapchat or TikTok, because you'll know what fred Durst did it all for. You may at this far. You might as well engage a little bit as we prepare for next week. We will catch you guys next Saturday. You know how this works, same blockhead time, save blockhead chain.
02 They did way to their day, then gave way to their day today
