Welcome to another episode of Bent Not Broken. Heartbreak and trauma may feel like the end of your story, but here it's the beginning of a bold new chapter. I'm your host, Coach Deborah Griffiths, and this is the space where women rise, rebuild, and rediscover their purpose. Remember this truth. You are bent not broken. Hi everyone, and welcome back to this bonus episode of Bent Not Broken. After my conversation with Brenda Bridges, I wanted to come back and talk directly to you. Especially if you're in that space where divorce feels overwhelming, scary, or even confusing. Here's what really stood out to me. Divorce is not just a legal process. It's an emotional, financial, and identity shift. And if you don't prepare internally before you move legally, you can make decisions from fear instead of clarity. So today I want to leave you with three coaching shifts to consider. Number one, get clear on your end vision. Before you file, before you hire anyone, before you tell your friends, ask yourself, how do I want to look back on this five years from now? Do you want peace? Do you want revenge? Do you want stability? Do you want to sit next to your ex at your child's graduation one day? Your outcome determines your approach. And if you want long-term peace, your strategy must align with that. Number two, understand your financial reality. Avoiding the numbers doesn't protect you, it weakens you. You need to know what you own, what you owe, what you earn, and what you spend. Because clarity creates confidence. Even if the numbers scare you at first, knowledge gives you power, and power reduces panic. This is especially important in gray divorce where there may not be time to rebuild retirement if mistakes are made. Number three, don't rush just to be done. Oh, I understand the desire to just get it over with, but rushing can cost you years of stability. Sit with decisions, ask questions, get information, and pause if needed. The divorce decree is not the finish line, it's the starting line of your new life. And here's something I want you to remember. Wanting peace does not mean you have to sacrifice yourself. Being collaborative does not mean being passive. You can divorce with dignity and advocate for your future. You are allowed to protect your finances. You are allowed to ask questions. And you are allowed to take up space. You are not broken. You are building. And if this episode resonated with you, share it with someone who needs to hear that divorce can be done differently. And if you're ready to move from confusion to clarity, book a discovery call with me. Let's talk about your next chapter. Until next time, stay bold, stay grounded, and stay becoming. Thank you for listening to today's episode of Bent Not Broken. I hope that this episode reminded you that even through life's toughest moments, you are bent, not broken. If this message inspired you, please share, rate, review, and subscribe, as it helps us reach more women who are ready to rise and rebuild. And until next time, keep living bold and walking in your purpose.
