Crime Analyst by Laura Richards
I love her approach to informing us.

Don’t trust until you know! Even in your older age
Elders , Please be aware how other Elders can hurt you if you trust them! Laura Richards. There are Bad elders out for your money and your self worth.

Life Changing!
This isn’t a phrase that I’m using lightly! Laura’s podcast has literally been life changing! I came to Laura through the Marion Barter podcast and have now listened to nearly all the episodes. Laura’s use of language and explanations of male violence and all those nuanced aspects of the patriarchy, really hit home. The confidence Laura exudes has given me the courage to change my career and I now work in a team where I feel I am helping to make a difference and am able to witness Trauma Informed Practice first hand every day. Thank you Laura for speaking out and not being afraid to challenge others and also for being proud of your own expertise. Absolutely inspiring!

Game changer
This is so much more that a true crime podcast. It’s the result of a decades worth of activism to uncover the true roots of gruesome violence and its impact on its victims. Such horrific crimes are not entertainment. They uncover a disturbing societal picture that must be addressed, not only in our hearts, but in the policies that endanger the public and protect the perpetrators.

forgotten Victims excellent podcasts
The host of this podcast says listens to Victims, but I wonder do people ? i'm a victim of a violent crime that could've killed me at MD office soho thrn came another threat using a hatred word for women promising if I took any action the tables would be turned posted on youtube 10/7/12 (my guess Joe Tacopina who I protested 1st treatment of the NYPD rape victim,) and when I forwarded the threat to the NYPD, they acted on it, and internal affairs , protected all crimes , city of New York corporation council Manhattan DA, Dept Of investigation, and they all had access to a letter WITHELD from me by NYPD detective Dwyer 01 who I believe was promoted to the NYPD FBI task force after violating my civil rights and he I was party to falsifying reports Dd5s , downgrading crimes party to the goal to make me drop charges coerced me by threatening me with false arrest Saturday 4 PM after emergency surgery from the attack Friday to NYPD and government employees that withheld a threat to me but the attention of detective, Angie Dwyer, stating that I came back . MD caters NYPD + gov employees. The letter threatening me to attention, detective Dwyer recognizes I could come back, but I was coerced to drop charges with their fabricated mutual third-degree assault (who drafted JT?) r points out that she will file more ( false) cross complaints.... if I try to come back report crimes! CCRB CC etc even NYC comptroller has an investigators. Did you realize how many investigators either look the other way past the corruption buck to IA dead on arrival , party to enabling even more crime....?

Fantastic podcast
Love this podcast. So much more insightful and sensitive than many other true crime podcasts. Your analysis of the Ghost Story podcast was also spot on.

Fantastic analysis of crimes
Fantastic analysis of crimes. Explained in a way that is easy to follow and understand. She’d new light on crimes I was t familiar with and even the ones I am familiar with it’s refreshing to hear information that I didn’t previously know. There’s clearly a lot f research gone into these podcasts
I've been listening to Laura since RCP started and was overjoyed when she started Crime Analyst. I listen to her podcast religiously. My 14 year old daughter has clearly been listening in too. Her form tutor blurted out the ridiculous comment of "He is only mean to you because he likes you!" She was enraged and articulated very well that he should not say such things as some girls may find themselves with an abusive partner thinking he hurts her because he loves her! Thank you Laura for teaching our girls, making them aware of red flags and for being instrumental in changing the society narrative 😘

Outstanding
Just blown away by Laura’s insights on the Murdaugh murders and can’t wait to listen to her other episodes. What an incredible thinker she is.

Absolutely love this podcast
I’ve gradually worked my way through most of these episodes and find Laura incredibly interesting to listen to and is my new favourite podcast. She delves deep into cases, has amazing knowledge of the subject and talks sense when discussing cases and always has the victim at the heart of her discussion and shows great respect. I wish she would say what year it is when naming dates. It would help with context. Other than that i really enjoy tuning in. Not sure what I will listen to once I’ve caught up!

Marion Barter
I found the episodes where you spoke to Sally and Jodi about the disappearance of Marion Barter insightful and interesting. I have followed the case for a while but the synergy of your experiences and Sally's and Jodie’s provided so much more information and it really drilled down to the evidence in this case.

Insightful!
I came to this podcast only recently. I heard Laura on The Lady Vanishes Podcast. I have followed this since it began. And so, I started to listen to her amazing podcast. She is so knowledgeable, thorough and considerate in the way she handles all of these cases. I especially love the way she interacts with her guests. And that she is such a force for good.

Laura Richards’ forensic insights
Laura Richards is doing the whole world a great service with her brilliant mind and deeply thoughtful analyses evident in all the cases she has addressed.

Fantastic look into cases by someone with a unique background
This is the true crime podcast you want to listen to if you want to know what the police are thinking and what the perpetrators and suspects are thinking. Someone who has the law enforcement background but also knows plenty to do with the psychology behind true crime. A podcast that deep dives into cases, it’s not a one and it’s done for every case or a single case podcast. It’s the perfect mix. Love your work Laura and especially love the reach you’re giving the Missing Person Marion Barter case for Sally and her family.

Revolutionary
Laura Richards is leading a revolution in the investigation of violent crimes against women. Policing will never be the same. Criminal investigation will never be the same. We should all be grateful that, following her impressive career within the existing UK structures, she decided to step out and offer her expertise worldwide. Her respect for the families of victims and their supporters is unparalleled. I have high hopes that Laura will help Sally Leyden find out what happened to her mother, Marion Barter.

Be curious and listen to Laura
Excellent podcast. Informative and thoughtful.Facts with insight.

Thoughtful and informative
Even though I’ve been following “the lady vanishes” since 2019 and “missing person Marion Barter”, Laura Richards’ Crime Analyst contributed new insights and analysis of the case. In fact made me think about certain aspects. Fantastic podcast!

Marion Barter.
Outstanding episode, the input from Joanne is amazing.

Ahead of the Curve
I have listened to this Podcast from the get go, undoubtedly the best for content quality, perspective and objectivity. Laura Richards applies a keen critical analysis to real crime and its policing without leaving any stone, no matter how insensitive, unturned. No longer hide bound by institutional policing she can not only tell it as it is but offers insightful remedies for a better way of doing it. We can certainly do better than this and she tells us why and how the wheels have come off and how to fix it. Not easy listening at times but curiosity will give you rewards by listening to this. Its a no brainer 👌

not just change of language
Laura, in the first episode with Collette, you said it was just a subtle change in language that was needed. But it is not just that. That will only come after a change of mind. Otherwise they are just words.

Inspirational
I always find Laura’s episodes inspirational but I’ve been particularly inspired and moved by Colette Martin’s story and journey. We are making strides and it isn’t hopeless! Even if we have to play the long game, we can ensure that all women get respected and protected by “all men”.

Crime Analyst - The Forgotten Victims
What an informed, detailed and sensitive series it is. Laura’s care and consideration of all the women and families involved is second-to-none. How refreshing to highlight the importance of the language and photos used. It is a heartbreaking but necessary listen x

The gold standard of what a podcast should be!
Laura Richards is absolutely the best at what she does. This podcast is so well laid out and informative that it’s nearly impossible to go back to listen any other kind of podcast. She will change your way of thinking towards true crime and she is absolute wealth of information. I cannot get enough of her!!!
Crime Analyst with Laura Richards has taught me so much that I now can see so many of my past and present relationships more clearly. This podcast as well as real crime, (that she is also on), are so exellent at teaching that when I have heard all I struggle to listen to any other crime podcast and instead go back and listen again to old podcasts! I love that they refuse to use or give these killers, rapists, and pedophiles names or monikers. Fully agree with "flipping the script", and holding perpitrators to account. I suspect it is hard to change understanding without knowledge. I applaud Laura Richards and all the amazing sheroes and heroes of the cause of teaching and changing the culture of male violence and the laws that support that culture!!

Great podcast
Love your work Laura. There is so much that our police force and courts in Australia could learn from your insights. Looking forward to the next episode of your podcast on the Marion Barter case.

Healing
The way you speak and your clarity on these subjects are healing to me and my husband thinks you are a super hero! We’ve watched wherever you are and have been fans of real crime profile too😊I just want to thank you for your work

Great analysis
Crime Analyst takes you where no other podcast goes: a meticulous, in-depth, and comprehensive analysis of different cases, leaving no stone unturned. Whether a case is solved or cold, Laura brings you along for a real re-investigation using her expertise as a behavioral analyst and a former New Scotland Yard detective. Not only is this podcast entertaining, but it is also empathetic and deeply moving at times. As a true-crime enthusiast, I highly recommend it.

A new perspective and detail never seen before
I stumbled on Laura’s work by accident and I can’t not believe the detail and analysis put into these shows , I have followed the PS cases since the 80’ read everything, watched everything and thought I knew everything but I didn’t and I didn’t understand the narrative nor the real evidence and Laura presented some astonishing information that I should have realised . I feel educated now , the smoke and mirrors post investigation and the excuses given for not catching the perpetrator were exposed , hoax tapes or not there were series failings and opportunities missed . I find that the police force of West Yorkshire should take full responsibility for their failings , 11 times they could have stopped PS . Many thanks for an astonishing piece of detailed and thought provoking piece of work ! As I said at start of the review I stumbled on Laura’s work because she does use the familiar monikers for the murderers and puts the victims rightly front and centre and I respect and applaud that stance I just hope more people discover her work because it’s a revelation.

A Great Listen
As I listen to Laura I need to concentrate. So thought provoking as I hang onto every word. Such a wonderful human being

Laura is life changing!
I absolutely love listening to Laura. She is full of knowledge and I learn something new every time. Thank you and keep up the great work!
