We also discuss the misguided — and recurring — idea that when it comes to scrutiny and ethics, there is little to no need to be concerned about the Leader of the Opposition (or leaders of opposition parties all around), simply because they are not currently in position to enact decisions for the nation; that the fact they aspire to be one day should not warrant scrutiny and reporting on their ethics prior to them being able to enact decisions for the nation.
