Danielle Smith's reforms of the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) has led to a fourth resident of Alberta dying under her watch [Trigger warning: This story contains discussion of suicide], following yet another death of despair of a 37 year-old transgender man in February 2024* , as well as the December, 2025 death of Prashant Sreekumar after nearly 8 hours in the Emergency Department waiting room of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital and the May 8, 2026 death of an unnamed man after six hours in the Royal Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department waiting area.
