Episode 674 Fri June 20 - 2025

In Episode 674 of The Daily Beaver Morning Show, National Indigenous Peoples Day is tomorrow (June 21 — June is also National Indigenous History Month) and the community has been making its voice heard as Bill C-5 An Act to enact the Free Trade and Labour Mobility in Canada Act and the Building Canada Act is being bulldozed through the House of Commons, severely undermining, in the estimation of many, a decade of progress on Reconciliation.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford's own Bill 5 and a rather racist outburst have him quickly swallowing some humble pie.

NOTE: National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. For generations, many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities have celebrated their cultures, languages, and traditions at this time of year. The summer solstice holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration.
