The Activity Continues

This week we are talking about the past year and the past season of our show.

We talked about Amy’s Scotland trip, along with travel tips.  We welcome new Patrons Shannon, and Lyn & Liz, and we have a possible EVP for you to listen to as well.

AP tells us the difference between a cow, a heifer, steer and bull and by the end we turn this into a food podcast.

And remember: “If everything worked 100% of the time, you’d never learn a damn thing.”

Content Warning:

If you listen to this show because you want to hear only talk of The Dead Files this one probably isn’t for you.  We do talk about the Dead Files a bit but it’s not until 45 minutes in.

We didn’t find anything we thought deserved a content warning, we didn’t even swear…that much.

The Activity Continues is a podcast where soul sisters, Amy and Megan usually chat about the TV show, The Dead Files. Our other soul sister Amy (AP) keeps us in check with facts, figures, and other fun things. We talk about pets, true crime, ghost stories, haunts, dreams, and other creepy paranormal shit and sometimes we interview really cool people. Whether it be a paranormal professional, a Dead Files client, or a friend with cool stories.

So, grab your beverage of choice, hop in the car, don’t worry, Steve’s driving, and join us when… The Activity Continues.

This episode was recorded on November 12, 2023 and released on November 16, 2023.

Amy L

My friends, it should come as no surprise to you that this episode sound is a little bit wonky. And I am fully believing now that there is something else going on. Like we say, the holy explanation is paranormal. Because we have tested everything we have tried everything. Everything works great and what it's doing is some really, truly weird ****. Both zoom and audacity got goofed up, so it has nothing to do with the Internet, because the audacity is on my computer only. And Zoom has never done this before, but what it did is it garbled a bunch of my. Words. Note this is only on my track. Ap's and Megan's tracks are fine. Only I might. Of course, zoom garbled only the important words. It didn't garble any of my albums or anything. I need to cut out. It only garbled important words and so I cut what I said out in in places where I could, but there were places where I said something that the others replied to and I couldn't cut that out. So I am going to do little voiceovers of what I actually said. I will also note that audacity garbled them too the same words. The same words and also what audacity did is it warped my whole track so that when I. Connected when I synched mine apps and Meghan Meghan's tracks, they're all fine for about 3 minutes and then mine gets stretched. And so then they're out of sync again. And so I spent a full day trying to resync everything at every 3 minutes of editing. I had to stop and resync and. I finally was tired of fighting, and so we are using. The Zoom audio and. I will just be inserting the words that it garbled. Hi, go, Steve and welcome to the Activity Continuous podcast. I'm Amy and my co-host Amy P. AKAA. P and Megan. We are soul sisters. Who usually recap episodes of the dead files, but they are off now. We don't know if they're coming back, so we're kind of just flying by the seat of our. Pants. So today we're recording our season finale and our last. Show of the year. And we're going to take a break over the holidays and we will be back January 4th with a new. Season possibly a new format, at least for a little while until we know. What's going on with the show? The dead bowls that is, and hopefully some surprise guests. I'm not going to tell you who is a potential yet. But it's pretty exciting. Megan, do you want to tell us a little bit more? About what we're going to do today.

Megan

I sure do. Hi, everyone. It's Megan here. So today we are recapping the last year, so 2023 and the last season. So 2023 actually included part of season 3. So basically the first half of the year was season three and then season four started June 8th and that was episode 68. You want to relisten to the whole season and why wouldn't you want to? You can start with 68 and that's also when AEP, AKA AP officially joined our team so she could yell at us in person instead of over the her headphones and just text us furiously.

AP (Amy P)

Hey, everyone. Yeah, it's been an exciting year since June. Lots of stuff has happened throughout the whole year, personally, professionally and podcasting.

Megan

Podcast is a new word by. The way, yeah, I like it.

AP (Amy P)

Yes, podcast. She is definitely a new word, and yeah, just excited to kind of go. Through all the stuff that we've gone through there. You guys have been with me through some of my toughest times in the last year, including the loss of my dog and the loss of my grandmother recently. So.

Speaker 4

It's a you guys.

AP (Amy P)

Have all grown with me. It's it's pretty awesome.

Amy L

It's been a.

AP (Amy P)

Year and I use guys but everybody. They she's, he's. Yeah. And if somebody joins me, I have my labs out because. One is a little obsessed with me. Just picture Regina George in mean. Girls. And why are you so obsessed with me? I asked him that every day. Yeah.

Megan

Or Mariah Carey, are you so obsessed with me in the words of EM, we could say he she's. Days and days.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, yeah.

Megan

Anybody and everybody?

AP (Amy P)

Everybody with a heartbeat.

Megan

Unless you're Republican.

Amy L

Just hey, we don't hate Republicans. We just hate. Tea Party Trumpers, yeah, we don't hate them either. We just can't tolerate them.

AP (Amy P)

So this might good part of the content warning. As for content warning, just read the show notes. We have no idea what is going to come out of our mouths. It is a, as Amy said, fly by the seat of. Your pants so. I guess buckle up and let's go.

Megan

To fly by the seat of your pants, you have to wear pants.

Amy L

Ohh true true.

Megan

Just kidding. I'm wearing pants.

AP (Amy P)

Well, I'm wearing pants, so.

Amy L

I'm wearing. I'm wearing leggings so that count, yes.

Megan

Oh, me too. I'm wearing leggings. Same I say triplets cause I can't say twinsies cause there's more than two.

Amy L

Oh yeah.

Megan

I got the cutest dress from some side. I don't remember and I need maroon tights for it because it's like a cream color with maroon leaves and it's very folly. So I need I know, but I need more because I can't wear black because it doesn't.

Speaker 4

Nice, I love it.

Megan

It just wouldn't work, so I need to find some marine tights or maroon leggings.

Speaker 4

Right, right.

AP (Amy P)

Well, I will tell you if you. Duluth Trading company. Leggings. OK are fantastic. They're going to be a little bit pricier, but I have had.

Megan

They're so good.

AP (Amy P)

I'm wearing a pair right now. I've had several pairs for years and literally throughout the pandemic. That is all I wore is pants for working jeans, like once a week, just to make sure they still fit.

Amy L

Yeah, me too.

AP (Amy P)

But I yes, these are hiking and.

Megan

Yeah, I delete trading company is so good. But yeah, they're pricey. But they're, I mean, you get what you pay for, you know, so I know.

AP (Amy P)

Exactly this is something I've been learning as I get, you know, into my later 30s here of by the thing that has buy the quality. Otherwise, you're buying quantity, yeah.

Amy L

And I I sometimes well with leggings. Anyway, I I buy the cheap **** on Amazon. But the ones that I found recently are so comfortable. They're super soft. They're like. 12 bucks a piece, maybe 15 at the most. I don't think it's that much.

Megan

That's not too bad.

Amy L

They're just, they're so comfortable. They're super high waisted. They come all the way. Up to my. Bra. So I feel like I'm wearing like, a slimming thing all the way down, you know? Yes. And they have pockets and they feel better. They're super size. So I love those and I'll still buy those. But yeah, I would definitely buy some good ones that. And lasting to their pockets, the Duluth trading ones.

AP (Amy P)

The ones that I have on now don't, but they do have other. Ones that do. And I have a couple of other pairs that, yeah. Yeah. And then.

Amy L

OK, need to have somebody. Put my phone.

AP (Amy P)

Honey love. Those are the shapewear type.

Speaker

You know what?

Speaker 4

Ones ohh I.

Megan

Yes. And I've heard. Let's go to court. Advertise for them.

AP (Amy P)

I have 3 pairs and I also have. Four of the tank. Tops and.

Amy L

We should see if they want to sponsor us. I think we did reach out to them.

AP (Amy P)

Seriously, because I wear those tank tops over a regular bra most of the time for work like because they go, they go under everything, so I have. Just multiple colors so that I can wear them with everything and they're just because I like things that also tuck in a little bit on with jeans or. Other pants, so.

Amy L

Amy, I don't know. Truck just went by in front of your face. Or if that was a. Ghostie, but something just went right. Bye.

AP (Amy P)

There are cars out there like.

Amy L

  1. Oh, there's. Another one, it must be cars. OK must.

Megan

Oh, there was another.

Amy L

Be cars, OK? Darn it.

AP (Amy P)

Try it.

Amy L

That's OK. It was a ghost. No, it's fine. It's fine if you want. I one of the things that I wanted to go over real quick and I have to get my phone because I didn't memorize all this.

Megan

Just regular people.

Amy L

My phone go. I'm a master.

Megan

You guys, we usually record like at night and it's 10 in the morning on a Sunday. So we're gonna be a little chaotic.

Amy L

Yeah, it's 10:00 in the.

AP (Amy P)

I'm kind of loving it though.

Amy L

I like well, then I'm like, actually, I have all day now then to.

Speaker

Love you.

Amy L

Edit so I. Might actually get it out in time. OK so. Scott oh, first of all, I didn't tell you guys. This last time. Because I forgot we had a ghost tour. Well, it was underground vault tour kind.

AP (Amy P)

Of thing, Lynn.

Amy L

In Scotland? Yeah. Sorry, I forgot to.

Megan

Ohh OK I was very confused I. Was like I forgot.

AP (Amy P)

Where I knew where she was going, cause I've done that one.

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah.

Amy L

Or similar one and yeah, so I want what I wanted to do is travel tips. I don't know if I even mentioned that I had a few travel tips that we did that in person when we recorded the Britney episode that we never aired so right.

Megan

That we never aired because it was the sound, which is a shame, because damn, there were. We had some. Banging jokes on that.

Amy L

One we did, we did. On the other hand, we were also really mean. So I feel like we shouldn't do that. But anyway, so during this ghost tour, the the tour lady, she had two jokes for us. One of them, they're the first one. Why didn't the ghost go to the party?

AP (Amy P)

He had nobody to go.

Amy L

With exactly, you probably know the next. One too, then.

AP (Amy P)

  1. Want to go to the party?

Megan

I don't think you know it. Don't say it because I want to. I want to try.

AP (Amy P)

  1. Sorry, I what dad jokes.

Megan

She's just so smart.

Amy L

Why did he go to? The party the following year. What? Why did he go to the party? The.

Megan

Following year, did he find somebody?

Amy L

Yeah. Who did he find?

Speaker 5

I don't know.

Speaker 4

A girlfriend? Ohh, that's a good one. That's a good one, OK.

AP (Amy P)

No, I haven't heard that. Why didn't the skeleton jump off the Cliff?

Megan

Why did?

AP (Amy P)

He didn't he?

Megan

Didn't he because he had? No guts, correct.

Speaker 5

I love it. I love it.

AP (Amy P)

I hate you, Sir.

Speaker 4

Packers Packers.

Megan

I have the podcast now.

AP (Amy P)

Go to Wisconsin.

Megan

Go to Wisconsin.

AP (Amy P)

Well, I have a I have a travel suggestion. If you go through the MSP airport so go to the Twins Cafe. It's in the. Terminal best mimosas there. Nice. Yeah, we went there. I remember before Nashville a few years ago on a girls trip. And like the woman.

Amy L

Oh, nice.

AP (Amy P)

It it was. Literally between the four glasses split a bottle and opened a second bottle. Like wafted the orange juice across it. And then it topped with a shot of Grand Marnier.

Megan

Ohh some nice touch.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, that's the end. Yeah. And I was there last week when I was headed out for work. And I was like, you know what? It's the night I don't have to drive later, so I just. I had one and I.

Speaker

It's like.

AP (Amy P)

Just as good as I remember.

Amy L

Ohh yeah, that's a good idea. I get Grand Marnier for those. I like it. OK, so travel tips I this is from my trip to Scotland. We did not go to the fishing village that we were going to because there was rain of biblical proportions. The the news was calling it. So they called it pub weather. So we went and sat in a pub and we went to the White Horse Inn. I know it was really nice. It was. So he were sitting right by the window.

Megan

Which honestly sounds delightful. Thank you.

Amy L

The rain was coming down and we were in the White Hart pub, which is the old they say it's the oldest pub in the world. I don't. Think it. I don't think it is, but it's like. 1400 or something like that. Mm-hmm. That's all that's ******* all.

Megan

That's awful. That's like Americans. We cannot comprehend that because we have.

Amy L

I know. We feel like it was just.

AP (Amy P)

And I have.

Amy L

Dirt right back then.

AP (Amy P)

I do have a fun fact about the names of bars and things or pubs that we're in. Yeah. So being the white heart heart as a rabbit or a hare. Not necessarily the OR it. It's usually an animal and a color because people were illiterate back in the day. And so the signs always had. A picture of what it was. So that's why it was always described as white hair or white heart or any of those guys? Yep.

Amy L

Purple pig. Red Bull.

Megan

There should be a pub with the Red Bull. That's a really good name.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah. So there should be. All of those that that was wise because then people knew what you were talking about, even if they couldn't read the sign. Cool.

Speaker 4

You couldn't. Read. That's fun. You're so so full of fun.

Amy L

Facts I know I love it.

Megan

FAP fun fact. AP AP yeah.

Amy L

So they they canceled our plane. I mean, they cancelled our our train and then we were going to get a bus. But then we were afraid to be stranded in this village and not be able to get back, which we probably would have. So it's good thing we didn't go. But we of course had already paid for the Airbnb. And so they did refund us the the cleaning. Fee because we never touched the place so. And I didn't expect him to refund anymore. We cancelled the day we were supposed to be there, you know, because we could help it. So we had had travel insurance. We might have gone that reimbursed. So tip is.

AP (Amy P)

Right, yeah.

Amy L

Get travel insurance. I debated about it back and forth. Greg did not want to do it and I said fine and so we kind of got.

Speaker 4

Script. Well, who has?

Megan

The upper hand now.

Amy L

Yeah, I told him. Next time I am making all of the arrangements and we are. Getting travel insurance or we're. Just going to use a friend. Of mine, who's a travel? Agent. Yeah, just. Let her handle.

AP (Amy P)

All of it. But what were the seats that you got on your flight over, my dear, we.

Amy L

Yes, we we did splurge a little bit. I didn't know that Greg was doing this, he said. He said he's not going to fly coach. And I'm like, OK, who are you, Mr. movie star?

AP (Amy P)

Which is main cabin for the rest of.

Amy L

Us coach, economy. Steerage, I call it.

Megan

Hey, I'm flying now. When I go to California in February, cause I'm poor, yeah.

Amy L

We ought to, we ought to. I mean, if if my stepmother, stepmother, not stepmother. Thank God. No, my mother-in-law had not passed away and given us some money. We would not have traveled that way, and I doubt we'll ever travel that way again because it was highly pricey. But.

AP (Amy P)

Oh yes.

Amy L

We did first class business class, whatever you want to call it. I think it was business class that said on the on the ticket. But it was D1 and so we each had our own like pod kind of we were right next to each other. Turns out we were in each others seats because the lady kept calling me Mrs. Hetzler and calling him Mr. Lottsburg. I found hilarious, but so feel like super superior when you boarded before everybody else. No, because there's still people in front of us. We weren't their first person, you know. I mean.

Megan

Did you? But did don't they board like?

Speaker 5

There were, there were.

Megan

Do they board business class 1st?

Amy L

They do. There's still so many people in there that, yeah, but yeah, no, I wouldn't say those parents. OK. Sorry. I didn't know. That was supposed to be a joke, but you were really asking. No, but so we had. We had our own little. Well, everybody gets their own little TV screen as long as you're.

Megan

Well, that joke didn't land, so maybe.

Speaker 4

Send that out.

Megan

No, that's.

Amy L

In any place that has a TV screen. But. You push a button, it pops out, comes toward you. Yeah, we had big enough seats. Like they were super wide. And then.

Speaker 4

I God.

Amy L

You push the button and you could go lay it all the way down flat, except that I put all my my carry on and stuff over in the that corner so I couldn't. I couldn't recline my bed the whole way, but at least it was. It was a good, good recline and I was quite comfortable. Yes, it was very nice and we got champagne. The food was not very good. Well.

Speaker 4

Oh my God.

Amy L

We did. Do I? I know, but we've KLM on the way back and.

Megan

Airline food. I mean, what do you?

Amy L

We also did their first highest class or whatever.

Megan

See how I'm as good.

Amy L

Kaylan's food was so good. I was like, I want the recipe for this salad. It was so.

Speaker 4

Good. Don't this food? No.

Amy L

KLM also had a nicer lounge. Their Sky Lounge was like 3 littles it had good at free food, free booze. We didn't partake in either of those. We should. Have but OK so. Yeah, that's the flight. The best macaroni and cheese in Edinburgh, to my knowledge, is at the the last drop, the. In grass Market, it's right where they used to hang people right in the square. Great. When they back in the back in the yeah, back in history. I have had it five years ago, thought about it for the last five. Years and I went to try it and it was just as. Good as I. Remember, it's just like the noodles are soft but not mushy. The cheese is delicious. They put like a layer of cheese on the. Top and brown it. A little God it.

Megan

Boil it. God, I love the broiled cheese. Oh, God.

Amy L

Was so ******* good. We had it twice. That's the only dish. We had twice I had twice over there, so we also had their Cullen skink, which is a smoked haddock chowder and.

Megan

I don't know what any of those words are.

Amy L

It's well, you know, smoked meats.

Megan

Right, yes, and chowder.

Amy L

Haddock. Haddock is fish, so you probably wouldn't like it. However it I it didn't taste fishy to me and I even ate the big chunks of fish and I do not like fish. I taste like fish, but smoked fish is delicious. And Amy knows this. And that cooking was very big as a creamy.

AP (Amy P)

I had that when we were in. Killen hmm. Last year? Yeah.

Amy L

Yeah, it's so good. Oh.

AP (Amy P)

With Iron Groom and I freaking love Iron brew. Really. I gotta.

Speaker

Buy I love it.

Speaker 5

I love it and.

Amy L

I drank like 2 sips and like, let's put it back in the fridge and. Then we threw it away before we left. It's too sweet for me.

AP (Amy P)

I really liked the Iron Brew but. Because I didn't find it necessarily too sweet, but it's in that range of like, do you remember? Did you ever have Vernors Ginger ale? Yeah. It reminds me of like something like that where it's got more of a. There's a strong taste to.

Amy L

It yeah, it is a strong taste, that's for sure. And it's it's almost. I I can't detect what the flavors are. It's orange in color, so that might tells my brains to be orange flavored, but I don't think it's orange flavored. It's almost bubble gum or something.

Speaker

No, it makes.

AP (Amy P)

It makes me think of like. Aperol the way that Aperol is like that apart like flavor. Yeah. And just, you know, cause it's not. Yeah. It's not a distinctly one flavor. Yeah.

Amy L

Ohh, with that little bird, OK. Yeah, yeah. No, it's not. It's definitely something mixed. Oh, we did again to the Ghost Tour. I I would recommend doing them, except that it was like an hour and a half. Two hours of just. Standing and I was not the only one that was like, super uncomfortable. I was like, leaning up against the wet, gross rock because I was so tired. And there are other people around that were just crouching down and, like, holding their back, and they weren't all old. It was young people too. So I would say, you know, just make sure you. Pick one that you're ready to. Stand for two hours. It was good. It wasn't scary. It was interesting. But the the our host was so dramatic.

Speaker

Do you think?

Amy L

And just and then the ghost came blow and so. It was, it was silly did.

AP (Amy P)

You get the the story of the Mackenzie poltergeist and go into the Covenanters prison and that sort of stuff. Oh my God those.

Amy L

So that's not the one thing I know I wanted to do that one.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah. So yeah, we did the same group city of the dead, but we did ours was all above ground and.

Amy L

Yeah. OK, just.

AP (Amy P)

The stories about the Mackenzie, poltergeist and. Is it truly Mackenzie or was it potentially A relative of his and he was called Bloody Mackenzie because what he did to the Covenanters, who he the prison. So that area that's blocked off, they have a gated which, by the way, Greyfriars Kirkyard is right next to a school, so like through the kirkyard. To go to school every.

Amy L

Day I love that kirkyard.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, but the the Covenanters prison like for months, they laid face down in the ground. And if they got up or anything? They could be shot. Just. Oh yeah. And it just the history of it. Generally spooky has a really great episode on Greyfriars Kirkyard and on the Mackenzie Poltergeist, so I highly recommend generally spooky history, yeah.

Amy L

Ohh Jesus. OK, I'll find those. And put them in those show notes. Cool. Yeah. No, but the the Mackenzie poltergeist is apparently at the last drop pub where they have the Good Mac and cheese. I sat right next to. A sign that. Mackenzie Poltergeist is here, and our menu, our menus. The menus are sitting on like a wooden plate, a wooden, like book bookshelf kind of thing bookshelf. Not the right word. What do you call it when my book end? No. It's like when you have a book that you, you have a a stand you. Put a book stand where you put it on it with it when it's open so you can read it. Kind of a thing.

AP (Amy P)

I loved watching you put that all.

Amy L

Together. Is that right book stand? I believe 2 words. It's a book and it's standing on something. Could that be what it's called? I don't know. But anyway, so the menu was sitting on that and it flew off the table and landed on the ground. But I wouldn't guess if it was just that we. Wiggled the table. And bumped it or something. But we were like, it's a ghost. It has to be paranormal. No, it's actually on.

AP (Amy P)

You were Greg, wasn't?

Megan

I think I'm. I'm surprised that he went on a ghost tour.

Amy L

That side, it was like. Girls, she likes to make fun of me. He loves that stuff, he loves it and believe a lick of it. But he loves it.

AP (Amy P)

Most of those most of. Those tours, though, they provide a lot. Of the history. As to to help you make the connection, as to why potentially this might be here. Door County in Wisconsin. If you ever head out there, they've got a a haunted trolley tour, but it's not like you're going through a haunted house or anything like that. They take you to places where. Things have happened and it's around a lot of water, so of course we know water is one of those things that attracts. Energy is for spiritual beings.

Amy L

So, yeah, yeah, that'd be good. I'd like to. Do that sometime.

Speaker 4

MM.

Amy L

  1. I would you know, one of my goals was to see a highland cow or a shaggy COO. They did. I did not. Spoiler alert. But one of our cab driver told us there is a place called Preston Fields and it's in, in and a restaurant. Very pricey. That has like a courtyard, but it's huge that has shaggy Coos in it. So I call. I tried to get a hold of them to find out. If they really did cause I didn't wanna go spend like $500.00 on the tea, if I wasn't going to see a cow and they didn't get back to me in time before we left. So. But they do, they do have one cow. They had two. They had a a mother and her baby, and the mother passed away like a week before I had asked about it. So mother passed away. Her name was. And her daughter's name is treacle. Jacob is still there, so they have. They also have a cat and.

Speaker 4

What was it?

AP (Amy P)

And they were older, though, right? It wasn't like a cast. They're both. You have a cow and a.

Amy L

Heffer. I think so. Yeah. The mom was 17. Years old, yeah. Yeah, yeah, she wasn't. She wasn't sitting on one.

Megan

She wasn't a spring chicken.

Amy L

Right. And I don't know how old treacle is. But anyway, so we didn't. Oh, and a Peacock. So they have a cat. A Peacock. And a.

Speaker 4

Shaggy, COO and and.

Megan

I'm surprised the captains go after the Peacock, but maybe the Peacock, yeah.

Amy L

Well, the Peacocks probably three times the size of the Peacocks are big.

AP (Amy P)

Fun facts we often call cow for all cows, which is really cattle because cow is female. Bull is male or steer, and heifer is an unbred female or a female who hasn't had a a calf yet.

Speaker 4

OK.

Amy L

Oh, OK. Baby. OK, good.

AP (Amy P)

Yep, and steer. Steer our bowls that are castrated.

Megan

To know baby.

Amy L

Ohh, OK, OK.

Speaker 4

OK.

Amy L

So my number one travel tip. I won't talk about Scotland anymore, but. Oh, there's one more thing I want to. Say after this. But first thing that really ****** me off when I got home. I was looking at my pictures and trying to make things out. Of them on websites where you can put them on T-shirts or whatnot is that I had. I had gotten a new phone. About 3 months before and it did not have the the same camera settings and so the camera it was not set on the highest quality photo. My pictures were not big enough to do very. Much with and so my tip is check your camera settings, make sure they are on the biggest best setting, even though they going to take up more space on your phone. Bring us a plug or whatever so you can put them on a laptop or put them in the cloud or something. But make sure your.

Megan

That's really ******.

Amy L

Camera is taking good pictures. The other one is that I highly, highly recommend if you're going to Edinburgh. To go to the National Museum of Scotland because it was amazing. But we spent like 7 hours there and it wasn't.

Speaker 4

Enough. So nice. Yeah, I do love a good museum.

AP (Amy P)

So cool.

Amy L

Yeah. Yeah, it was it. There was so much we were thought we were going to finally leave because we were hungry. And so we were. We're trying to find the exit. And I I said I felt like I was an IKEA because once you decide you leave, you can't. I mean, you have to walk through, like, a maze of a whole bunch of things before you can figure out how to get out of. And that's how we when I kept turning. Around and I'm like we. Didn't see this room. Oh, my God, look at.

Speaker 5

All that come back.

Amy L

And we never did go back because we just were too busy and right. Frankly, ******* tired. Yeah. Walking like 12,000 feet a day or feet steps, same thing. And my my normal goal. Well, my normal goal is 5000, but I never reached that. My normal steps is usually about two to 3000 a day. So that's quite a jump to 12 to 13. So yeah, it was, it was, it was a really tiring trip, but lovely. Delightful. I can't wait. To go back.

AP (Amy P)

Right.

Amy L

That's that on Scotland. Let's see. Oh, I have a funny story about my mom. Does anybody else have a story they want to tell in between? Because I've been hammering a. Lot. That's OK.

AP (Amy P)

No, I'm just sitting down for story time.

Amy L

Yeah. OK. So I I took my mom on Thursday to. And so we were walking, titling into the Walgreens. She shuffles when she went, she shuffles. Just shuffles and she can't pick up her feet.

Megan

Every day I'm shuffling.

Amy L

I don't. And then she always says I can't. Walk like this and. Then, uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah.

Megan

She does it and then she does how she. Can't walk.

Amy L

Just like I can't put my hands.

Megan

I can't put my arms up like this, OK?

Amy L

Up over my head like this. So she's toddling, toddling in and she we get to the curb where she has to step up under the curb. And I said, can you get that curb? And I put my arm out and she grabbed my arm and we got up there. So we're toddling into the store and the door is open and there's a lady standing, getting ready to leave. And she's got a mask on.

Megan

Hey, Barbara.

Amy L

So I can't see her full face, but I can see her eyes. And she is like, just delight is in her eyes, and she's staring at us. And as we're walking in, my mom says because I had just gotten home from the hospital. That's another story. I won't go into if we don't need to, but. I was in. Hospital for a. Day and I just got home. So my mom is talking about that to me. And she goes. So did they ever figure out why? You're so hot. That just made me laugh and I said why I'm so hot. Well, thank you. But no, I wasn't hot. I had. High blood pressure. And that's when the lady was. I could see she was laughing at us and were with us. Whatever, because we were both laughing and then she just locked eyes with me. And she said you two are so beautiful. And I went. Oh, and she? Said you're going to be just fine. And then she walked away and. I was like that's that's cool.

Megan

Yeah. Yeah, it was so sweet. That is sweet. Yeah, restores your faith in humanity a little bit, yeah.

Amy L

And then after she left.

Megan

And there goes the moment. Ohh Barbara. Ohh. You are crazy lady.

Amy L

I call her toddler Barbie now because, yeah, she she eats nothing but candy, she said she's a child with a credit card, so. She eats nothing but. Candy, we need to welcome new patron Shannon. Found us on the dead files chat where we were for a little while talking about the podcast. A lot of people were asking and how do I find it? Not so we, and we have gotten a lot more new people listening. Our stats have gone up, so that's.

Megan

Welcome, Shannon.

Amy L

So tell your friends. Yes. Welcome, Shannon. Hey, Shannon. And then?

Megan

We're so excited. And then, but wait, there's more.

Amy L

There's more. We had a new review and a five star review. So it says like meeting up with pals, that's the headline. All the things we wanted to know about the deadfalls and more we are in the UK and watch on Discovery. Plus we really enjoy. Many thanks, girls, Lynn and Liz. So then. Thank you, Lynn and Liz. So. Yeah, I thought to them, I saw that Lynn was following me us on Instagram. So I reached out to her or she sent me a message, actually. I think and they live in Wales.

Megan

Cool. Oh my God.

Speaker 4

That's so cool, I know.

Amy L

And so then.

Megan

Isn't doesn't whales have like the longest city name in the entire world?

Amy L

Oh, does it?

Megan

Oh, it's it's so many consonants. It's so long. Funny. Yeah, yeah.

Amy L

Sure. So I nudged her and said, hey, she said, you know, she I just wanted to talk. I feel like I want to talk to you guys, like, in the moment all the time, which is same thing Shannon said. Yeah. And so I I was like, want to come on over to Patreon because we're having our Patreon holiday happy hour pretty soon.

Megan

To chat.

Amy L

And if you come before then you can join us. And so she did. They did. So Lynn and Liz and Shannon, all new members.

Speaker 4

Of our.

Megan

We're so excited to have you guys. Oh my gosh.

Amy L

Go see, fam. I know. I'm so excited. We really the coolest people are are in our Patreon. Really not have done in the whole group.

Megan

Honestly, I don't think we've had one. No, I don't think we've had one person where we're like God, we wish they hadn't joined. Like, they're all amazing. They're all, and they're all so unique. And we just love them all. Yeah.

Amy L

Never. Yeah. And and they're. Like we have some witches, we have some pagans. We have some mediums we have. Yeah, it's really it's a really fun group of so far. And ladies, yes, yes.

AP (Amy P)

Always respectful.

Megan

Ohh, it is so respectful. Yep, which is big.

Amy L

Yes, all you know, humanity, friendly and LGBTQA friendly and all of that. So yes, very inclusive. So Shannon did send a story to us that I want to read and then I she did attach.

Megan

Inclusive, we're varying.

Amy L

A video which I sent to you guys already. So here's Shannon's story. I've been telling my boyfriend his house has Spooks. Ever since I've been coming here in late 2015, my daughter and I moved here in with him in February 2017 with our cat. My cat's name is Artemis. Remember that it'll be.

Megan

Oh my God I love.

Amy L

Important in a minute.

Megan

It I love it so much.

Amy L

We have had many experiences of activity in the House, but I don't think he really believed me until he heard this EVP Artemis is in the hallway frequently, sometimes looking up and meowing and whatnot, and I took a video of her in January 2019 while my daughter was at school. I thought she was doing it because she missed my daughter, but when I played it back days later, I realized I'd caught an EVP. I've attached the video, listen at full volume, and see if you. Hear it?

Speaker 4

I don't want him.

Amy L

I honestly didn't hear anything except the cat meowing. I heard something, the cat meals three times and the third time I heard something that sounded like a voice at the same time, but I tried. I even tried like taking out the audio and amplifying it in my audacity.

Speaker 4

OK.

Amy L

And I couldn't find anything, but she says. Shannon says that some people here think some people don't, but what she thinks it was is a voice, saying Artemis. That's spooky, I know. OK, so we did all that, OK, I'm done. I have all my things. Anybody else?

Megan

I have something exciting, so I met with my 2 crafty friends and we came up with a name for our site and I'm going to be researching. Websites that we can build on so that because that one of them does Sam does woodwork and then Kathy does the wire wrapping. So hopefully that's coming in 2024, fine.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, that's exciting.

Megan

Yeah. And we are calling it Gaia collective. Ohh.

Amy L

Yeah, Gaia, Gaia.

Megan

After the like creator and Greek mythology cause we're all very it's all very like earthy stuff like clay and you know, stones and all that. So cool, yeah. Hopefully that's coming in 24.

Amy L

We took a little potty break right here and I would have just cut all of this out, except I thought that Megan's discussion about Patty chips was hilarious and I thought you might think so too. So.

Megan

In case you were wondering, my 3 year old brought me some. Tortilla chips in the bathroom case. I wanted a little snack. So very nice of them. Yeah, I was like, thank you. Thanks so much for my potty chips. And then yesterday he was helping me clean for his party. And I was doing dishes, and he had a spatula. And he was just, like, moving the water.

Speaker

Ohh that was.

Speaker 4

Uh-huh. Yeah.

Megan

I thought he was just moving the water around. So I'm like, thanks for helping buddy. And he's like moving the water on and then he disappear every now and then. And then he come back and move the water around. And I'm like.

AP (Amy P)

Ohh no.

Megan

Where like what are you doing? I look down and he's dipping the statua in the cat water and that's what he's. Cleaning the the countertop with and I said thank you. Thank you so much for helping to clean buddy. That's very kind of you. And then I took lots of chemicals to the countertop to make sure that the cat. Saliva was not on the countertop. So.

Amy L

So, OK, episode 47 amusement park for the dead was our first episode of 2023. I did not write down. The date that it that we aired it but. That was still season 3, and so I'm just like, I just looked up. Like fun facts, yeah. So one of the what I have down as because we're talking about best and worst and I'd rather talk about the bad **** first and then the good stuff. They're all the recording problems we had and like. Talking about earlier, so many be having those today, we'll find out when I try to edit this. Right now I'm glitching.

Megan

And I feel like this is the first year that we've really had this many like before, we'd have some now and then, but this is like we've lost episodes a couple of times because of how bad the problems were. Yeah, it's nothing like Amy did. It's.

Amy L

Right. You didn't have any problems.

AP (Amy P)

I always joke that.

Megan

I don't you know.

AP (Amy P)

I always joke that technology hates me and this is only solidifying how I.

Amy L

Oh my God.

Megan

Because it really feels like since.

AP (Amy P)

I joined. There's a lot more technical issues.

Megan

Well, I'm glad you said it. I'm.

Speaker 5

Just I just kidding.

Amy L

What did you?

Megan

Say I said, I'm glad you said it because.

Speaker 4

I didn't want to have to.

Megan

Say it, but I'm totally kidding.

Amy L

Yeah. No, it's it's obviously not anything Amy has. Done in fact. One time it was absolutely 100%. So I thought I was hitting the record button and I was hitting that that stop recording button because we were goofing around so much. With testing we're recording, we're stopping, we're recording, we're stopping, we're recording, we're stopping. So I'm like, OK, let's go boom. Thanks. We do an hour and a half and then I hit stop and actually hit record. And I'm like God.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, sorry.

Megan

Yeah. Thank God you had put your phone up.

AP (Amy P)

I love that my reaction in that one though, like let's see mine and Megan's reactions, I know.

Megan

That was totally different.

Amy L

Maybe I should go in the best of list because that was ******* hilarious and I was editing that video and I was cackling so hard, Greg. 'S like what are? You're doing because as soon as I hit the. Button and I go. Amy just throws her head back. It's.

Megan

Dan laughs.

Amy L

And Meghan goes what?

Megan

I even had you guys. I even had to put my glasses on. That's how. Like serious I was. I was. Like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

Amy L

Yeah, it was. That was hilarious. That was super funny. And like you said, Megan, thank God we had at least my cell phone sitting over in the corner recording the whole thing because that's the audio we ended up having to use because we weren't doing audacity or anything. Or maybe. Maybe we did the video from that and then we used the audacity. Audio, but we were all in the same room, so the audacity audio was probably. Shut as well, but. Anyway, someday we'll figure that **** out.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, I was gonna say my one of my notes was last recordings or forgetting to hit record or microphone issues or other tech issues.

Amy L

Tech. Yep, tech. And and then also this is also my thought but I was trying to find the best quality lowest price option for a recording and I kept hearing you know we had been using zoom. I used zoom for my other podcast Megan. I used zoom for the whole first year and no issues with it. Except that I kept hearing all these other good things that have other options for you to do and and the recording. We're not recorded on zoom. It's recording on my computer and then it saves it to the cloud. When we record on all these other ones. We tried zencastr Riverside. And squad cast. It records everybody on their own computer. So that if I'm glitching on and you guys are seeing me glitch, it's not going to do that on the final one because it's only doing that over the airwaves. It's not doing that on my computer. So it means that you get three really good quality tracks to you those. So I wanted to try out all those other ones and I did and we're back to zoom because. One of them. ****** ** in some way, you know?

AP (Amy P)

But the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Megan

Right. But that's why we try it, you know.

Amy L

It's yeah. And and The thing is too, we didn't always try it on an episode. We the first thing we tried I think was. I'm Castor and Amy and I got on Megan. You were on a vacation or you were sick or something? Amy, I got on and just chatted. We weren't. We record just to see how it went, and we were just talking, not even about podcast. And. And I tested it, and it sounded great. And it looked great. And then we did it for our, actually, it it wasn't great. Yeah. So I don't know.

Speaker 4

It it's, yeah, it's it.

Amy L

The only explanation is is paranormal.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah. But you know what the best thing about all of this is? The learning experience of going through it. And one of the things that I wanted to note that I put in my notes is, Amy, just your brilliance of going through all of this stuff and your patience of going through all of that because. Well, if it was me, I would have thrown things through windows several times already. So yeah, but I mean, you don't take enough credit for all the.

Amy L

Oh, it's pretty close.

Megan

I I probably would have just started crying.

AP (Amy P)

Stuff that you do.

Amy L

Ohh I did that. You didn't see all the tears. Well, thank you, Amy. That's sweet. I love doing it. I love it. I love editing. I love coming up with stuff. I love doing this part. The chit chatting and all that. I love all of it. It's just there's some frustrating things when things. Don't work, but that's.

Speaker 5

Yeah, like.

Amy L

Fine, you learn. You said it's a learning process.

Speaker 4

That's that's that's.

Amy L

And it's it's anybody.

AP (Amy P)

That's what we always said. You learn the. Most when you. Lose so.

Amy L

That's true, absolutely. If everything were 100% of the time, you would never learn a damn. Correct words to live by. You know that should be on a T-shirt. I gotta get going. I'm making some of those T-shirts, if any. The hearing, all this press fans, listeners. If anybody wants to raise their hand and take over our social media, I would happily hand it over to you because I am. ******* tired of it. I like. Answering messages from people I do not like coming up with a post every single day or two. Post every single day about what's going on with the show. That part is Morrisville to me. But anyway, so yeah, that's that we did have. I wanted to know one that we did that actually the sound was not so bad.

Speaker 4

Mm-hmm. Captions.

Amy L

And it was the one when we were, it was a listener story number, Episode 81, and we were all huddled around my dining room table and we were kissing our microphones because we.

Megan

Which is so odd.

Amy L

Were afraid of. The phone which worked.

AP (Amy P)

By the way, yeah. That's funny.

Amy L

I know, and that was a good episode. That's when we first read Eddie's. Story. Shout out Eddie, sweet pea. Maybe I'll see if he wants right now. Patreon. Yeah.

Megan

He is a sweetheart. You can join for free Eddie and just partake in our chats.

Amy L

That's right. That's right. How want to do it?

Megan

You don't need to pay us any.

Amy L

That's right. The other do you have any other either of you have any other Downers?

AP (Amy P)

No, I think that was the biggest one. To me, I mean.

Megan

We did get our first, I think and only one star review wasn't that last year.

Amy L

Yep, that was. Yeah, that was this this year. Yeah. This past year, yeah.

Megan

Yeah, I mean this year.

Amy L

Yeah. Yeah. Was. Yeah, yeah. Another podcast where people chat too much.

Megan

Too much chit chat. Which is like what a is, so.

Amy L

That's kind of what podcast. Everything. I get it.

Megan

That'd be like me being like ohh. These singers sing too much. It's just too much.

Amy L

They just wanted. I think they just wanted to hear about the details and not about us. And if you don't like us, there's no point listening to our show because we just.

Megan

So then Fast forward to the dead files, right?

Amy L

Talk about us. When we talk about doing something, but when they're not like.

AP (Amy P)

Now, and to be fair. That person probably would not have a similar viewpoint. Done a lot of things that we talk about I do.

Speaker 4

Exactly. Exactly.

AP (Amy P)

I one thing not good, bad or otherwise, but I noticed I felt like I I put. I feel like it got a little more cynical throughout the year, but I think because we followed the full season of the dead files and we caught on to themes that went through the whole thing. We caught on to phrases. That were used consistently where it just kind of like. Was obviously we know there's some scripting to all of this. You know, any reality show has script. If you don't believe. That it has a. Script at all.

Megan

You're a silly goose.

Amy L

Everything has a script and even reality shows even Big Brother, even bachelor.

Megan

Sorry to sorry to break it down. We have scripts have.

AP (Amy P)

They read like scripts. They, yeah, they reshoot scenes. And they do different things. And it may not. It's a guide on some of that script as well. But we heard Dream House sunk everything I've owned into it.

Amy L

My marriage.

Speaker

Is on the line.

AP (Amy P)

They're just on the rocks or we can't leave. We, you know.

Megan

We're gonna fight.

AP (Amy P)

Yes, all of those things and then poltergeist pop. You know it's. Just some of those things were both what? Yeah, in politics. But that's, you know, those were things that Amy and City.

Amy L

And paula's.

AP (Amy P)

Both came. You know, they they have their readings and whatnot, but it's almost like what got through the screening to get to these these episodes.

Amy L

Yeah. Yes. Well, I think a lot of what you're talking about is production and I think production crew is not the same production crew. No. And so you can tell that they're just.

Megan

You can tell.

Amy L

Turn it in. Sorry, guys, but that's what it feels. Like, it feels like nobody gives a **** anymore.

Speaker 4

It it did.

AP (Amy P)

Well, and it just like it felt. I think Amy, you and I were just. Chatting about this. Yesterday, because we didn't want to bother Meghan at her son's birthday party and.

Megan

I think you mean the party of the year.

AP (Amy P)

Yes, exactly.

Amy L

The social event of the season.

AP (Amy P)

Star-studded I heard. Yep.

Megan

It was very.

AP (Amy P)

Plastic sticky glow in the dark stars like. Put on the walls, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. OK. But it just seemed. Like, what was the screening process for some of these? Because I I saw one of the episodes and I sent it to Amy that I think we should watch and do a recap on, Yep in the future because somebody had talked about it in the dead files group and how they refused to say the name of the location and all of this stuff because they didn't want to give them publicity because it was very evident that.

Amy L

OK, nowhere.

AP (Amy P)

That's what that person wanted. But then what was the last episode of the season, this?

Amy L

Year, yeah, same thing.

Megan

And the one before that, with Brittany and her.

Amy L

There was. There was like 3 or 4 this year where they're the person was self promoting and and didn't give a **** about the ghosts.

Megan

Dad's book. Yeah, it. It was not.

AP (Amy P)

It just. Yeah, it just, yes.

Megan

It took away from the the which we're looking for.

Amy L

The genuineness yeah, there's another word that's rest of the day.

Megan

Like the quality of the show, it seems that the show is compromising by having these people on when they're all they're looking for is publicity. And when you know before it was, we genuinely want to help. So what it was, whether that was the goal or not, I don't know.

Speaker 4

Yeah, be.

Megan

But that's what it feels like.

Amy L

I don't. I think they do want.

AP (Amy P)

And you know. To help. Yeah, I think I think there's a line. I think there's some that are like ohh this will make good drama. This will make good content. And others were. Yes, this is definitely going to help. Like we know that with, like Donnellan, stuff helps them. Yeah. Then we see, you know, we see things like the final episode at the Octagon Hall, and it was more of.

Megan

Yes, yes.

AP (Amy P)

You know, just be careful about what you're doing and you know, they and.

Speaker 4

They're not, no.

AP (Amy P)

And they're not, and. And, you know, they got their name out. They said it several times. They do. Ghost tours or paranormal tours, and you can find everything on their website and I don't know what their website looked like before, but it does not look like they're doing any screenings. They just have a a section for. Those groups that have been doing this for more than two years, so I guess that. Considers you experienced. But yeah, you know, so I think there was just. Some of that has just been kind of changed from what we saw before and it maybe it's the we needed the drama because we don't know if we'll. Be back. So we. We needed that for ratings.

Amy L

Maybe I can see that. That's why they let Britney through. Yeah, because that's that gives us all something to talk about. I mean, we sure did and the and the the chats online and are sure talking about that and so that garner garner some publicity for the show.

AP (Amy P)

Right.

Megan

And you know, all publicity is good publicity. Yeah, so.

AP (Amy P)

And you know that there are. I'm sure that there is more than 13. Reaches out for health.

Amy L

Right. Yes. Well, I have heard people on the. Deadfalls group say I was. My I called I they they came out. They met with me, we signed all the papers and then when they started doing research on the House in the area, there was no dead. There was no deaths in the house. And so they said they. Didn't want to. Do it, which is ridiculous because it doesn't have to be a death in the house for there to be.

Megan

In the House, for there to be ghost.

Amy L

A ghost in the house, right?

AP (Amy P)

Wasn't that, though, wasn't that? The Brittany one that we'll be talking about with our patrons and our happy hour wasn't that the one with the the cemetery? That was a half mile away and they're like. Well, there's people who don't belong here.

Megan

Right. Yeah, that doesn't even. What does that even mean? What? No.

Amy L

It's ridiculous. It doesn't make any sense. It was a real stretch and it it's. That landed flat, I think.

Megan

It's a cemetery. Where do? Where do you want them to be then? Where? Where?

AP (Amy P)

Should they be? Yeah. And yeah. And the family that of the guy who is like, the the wife died and then the husband and the kids moved out to California. Were they supposed? To dig up. Her coffin and drag her with like. Yeah. I'm sorry, what?

Megan

Yeah, it was reaching. It was. It was a like Amy said, it was a stretch and not a good stretch, so it wasn't like a stretch Armstrong.

Speaker 4

Yeah. No. So, no.

Megan

It was like a really awkward date stretch where you're trying to put your arm around.

Speaker 4

**** ****. She doesn't want it.

Megan

She leans away, or she leans. Away and you're just like, it's just awkward all around so.

Amy L

Yeah. Yeah, it was.

AP (Amy P)

So like I said, it wasn't a good, bad or other, but I just I noticed I I got myself in a little bit more of the cynical. Side of things of like trying to look at things from and I think because this was the first time really.

Amy L

Me too.

AP (Amy P)

That you know for you too as well followed the entire season.

Amy L

Yeah, we've never done that before and we will never do that again by the. Way, yes. Yeah, that. Thank you. Have another season not doing that again unless we decide to air it like a month after it airs, because that is that because they. Don't they don't. Or they don't air until Thursday night and then. And then we so we don't record. Can tell at the earliest Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon, and then that doesn't give. That's not enough time to get everything done. All the **** that has to be done in between. So yeah. And and if one of us is sick and we can't be at the recording, then the recording gets pushed out and then it gets pushed out again. So yeah, I don't want to have to adhere to that. Schedule so no, not doing that again.

Megan

That's too stressful for.

Amy L

We can if they come. Back and that's a big if. And I do hope they come back. I do. I'm not. I'm not being a Debbie Downer about, you know, like, I don't want them to come back. I do. I I I have a feeling like we've talked about before, that they're probably going to have. To retool the show. And I I you know, I already have a new medium and I was talking to Greg about this and he was like, yeah, they're going to have to retool, I think. They should get. A new cop and I'm like replace Steve. How do you? Replace Steve and he goes. Who do you think?

Speaker 4

And I'm like, I don't know Joe Kenda. Yep.

Megan

So can I feel like it's too cynical for the show? I don't think he.

Amy L

Oh, I think it seems pretty cynical. Too, but.

Megan

Yeah, but at least Steve is open to it. I feel like Joe Kenda is not open to it at.

Amy L

I think Joe Kenda.

Speaker

Yeah, no.

Amy L

All. Yeah, I don't know anything about his spiritual Ness, but, I mean, he would be hilarious on that show, but because he's hilarious on everything. Yeah, he is. And so Steve, in a different way. But that would certainly up their ratings if they could get.

Megan

He would be because he would. Joe. Lieutenant Joe Kenner? Yeah.

AP (Amy P)

And I totally thought what you were saying that yesterday cause I forgot it was Joe Kenda who is the the one. Detective that we saw a couple of times the the.

Amy L

Black woman. Oh, Cheryl. Cheryl Dorsey.

AP (Amy P)

That's who I thought. You were talking about and I. Was like, that's awesome.

Megan

With the beautiful Gray hair.

Amy L

Ohh yes, she would be amazing. Found her on Instagram, by the way. I'm following her. She is Queens.

Megan

Yeah, you sent us a picture. She's gorgeous. Ohh gosh.

AP (Amy P)

She had those super cool earrings and stuff.

Amy L

Yeah, she's so gorgeous. Yeah. Yeah. And she wrote a book too. But yeah, Cheryl Dorsey, that would. Be great I. Mean I I do like Steve. I I. Think Steve adds a lot to the. Well, I don't know that I would like him him like he was my neighbor. But but I like him on the show.

Megan

I don't. I don't think any of us would like him in person.

Amy L

I mean, I'm sure he's a he's a good guy. But I he's got some beliefs that would drive me insane, so. Anyway, on that? Yeah, I think for the new season, we should put a big disclaimer that says this is a community of people who care about other people, LGBTQIA. Friendly, you know not.

AP (Amy P)

All race, Creed, religion, even that.

Amy L

Yeah, yeah. And if you don't believe, don't even listen because you're going to hate us. Yeah, that will keep out the. For F we really don't get anywhere F except for that one that didn't like us talking.

Speaker 5

Will it though or?

Megan

Will they just come in? And try to.

Amy L

  1. So on to best things.

AP (Amy P)

So one of mine is I.

Megan

All of our guests.

AP (Amy P)

Was well, OK.

Amy L

Sorry. Yeah, that's what I have. Go ahead, Amy. 123. Everybody talk. I'm telling for the view.

AP (Amy P)

Ah, OK. Well, I was going to say when I was still listening to the two of you at the beginning of last year, one of my favorite things was when you both got the follow trackers. And I remember. I think one of you it was like I don't know how. To pronounce it. Fallow and then the other one goes. I think it's just fallow and it was like, yeah.

Megan

That was me and Amy. I was wondering to pronounce it. And Amy was like.

Amy L

I said it and I.

Megan

You're an idiot.

Amy L

Didn't even follow. And she goes ohh follow.

AP (Amy P)

And because of the way it spelled and I haven't looked at at any of these, but I just remembered that and just that that like. Well, that makes sense because we're tracking. These animals, like OK, got it.

Megan

Update on follow they now have.

Speaker 4

Gorillas, do they? Ohh.

Megan

Yep, they just released gorillas this week. I got a barrage of text messages about it, so I'm trying to see how the animals they have cause they have dolphins.

Amy L

I think my one Penguin. Let's just say her tracker fell off, and so I got.

Megan

Another one. Ohh. Good. What's her name? Cause that was Regina.

Amy L

Yeah. Regina was the first one. God, I don't remember her name. I don't even know if I still.

Megan

So you can do sea turtle, lion, shark, elephant, Penguin, polar bear, giraffe and dolphin and gorillas are are on there. I don't know why they're not.

Amy L

Have it on this phone.

Megan

And that's it.

Amy L

I don't think they had. Dolphins, when I first. Yeah.

Megan

Started dolphin and giraffe are new and.

Speaker

Launch your app.

Amy L

Yeah, I have it on my.

Megan

The gorillas are new cause I was getting text messages for them constantly this week.

Amy L

So I don't get a dolphin. Yeah, I just have. A polar bear, a a Penguin and a.

Speaker 4

Shark right now.

Megan

Ohh, that's right. You had the shark chum? Yeah.

AP (Amy P)

Walked into a barn.

Megan

Eddie, one of my Sharks has not been seen since September 23rd, but her they're not seeing her tracker fell off, but I'm 99% sure it fell off because that's almost two months now. So.

Speaker 4

That's a long time.

Megan

But my last. Let's see, Poseidon was see November 2nd. Babu was seen October 7th, November 7th November.

Amy L

I had bad.

Megan

Anchor was. October 13th, Friday, October 13th. And Charm was October 29th. Yeah.

Amy L

And so.

Megan

Just waiting till they tell me there no more and then I'll.

Amy L

Get give you another animal.

Megan

That I've already had or already do have probably.

Amy L

Yeah, yeah, they should know. They should be able to tell and not to do the same. I don't know.

Megan

But whatever, it's fine. So they have gorillas.

Speaker 4

Is what I wanted to say.

Megan

I'm sorry I totally dismissed off. Track which never happened, but that's OK.

Amy L

That's a long way to say. We get paid by.

Megan

The minute. That's why our ups are so long.

AP (Amy P)

Even long compared to some of the ones I listened to that are.

Amy L

I know.

AP (Amy P)

Like I I love one group and I've we've talked about them before, but their episodes are always two to three hours and then they'll do multiple parts of that episode, like Guys, I I love them. But and it gets hard to like. I have a I can't add any new podcasts into my list because I have all the ones that continue.

Speaker 4

There's Alan.

AP (Amy P)

Going with that are. Already I you know. I just gotta stick with the ones that I know that I like and I I get kind of caught up and then I don't have time to listen to him for a while and then I'm. Like Lee, OK.

Megan

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like you have to dedicate a weekend to just catch up to podcasts.

Amy L

Yeah, I've done that before. Yeah, yeah. There's only a few podcasts that I am totally caught up on, and that's because they have 20 to 30 minute episodes and I have it automatically download and then I. Go. Oh, look a. New criminal and I listen to that that night and then I'm done. You know, there's maybe 444. That I have that I listen to consistently. I was very caught up with beautiful anonymous and then when we started getting so involved in this show, I didn't have time to listen as much as I did before. And now I am desperately behind and with my favorite murder as well.

AP (Amy P)

Desperately behind, but and and I do like now. With that. I didn't like it at first when with my favorite murder, when they would split episodes. But you know, like I just listened to one that you know Karen did and it. Was, but it was well done and you know, and it was over an hour. And they're like, maybe we should just split this one because. It was actually, yeah. Karen did that and George was like, yeah, mine is going to be a. Long one as well so.

Amy L

Yeah, I heard that one too. And and I know there's something to be said with just just released a three hour. Episode. Who cares? The consumer can cut it whenever they want and stop whenever they want, and you know, finish it, do something else. But The thing is, when I do that, I get out of sync and I get. I get like forget that I cut it off halfway through. And then I I I connect to my phone and I go. Ohh yeah I don't have another hour right now. I just want to listen some short and quick. So then I go off to another show and then I forget that I saw that one hanging out. And then by the time I.

Speaker 4

Right. Mm-hmm.

Megan

Or I forget the front. Exactly. Yeah. So you have to listen to it again. And it's like, no.

Amy L

Get to it. I don't. Remember what's going on?

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, I I'm the one. I. I'll stop wherever I'm at and then I'll just pick up again. And sometimes I have like 3 that I'm in the middle of just depending on. Like, if I go for a run or something, there's only two podcasts that I typically listen to during that time because there's sound is loud enough. Because there are certain ones that I can't. It the sound isn't loud enough that I can't listen to it, or if I take like the dogs outside or something and I and I can put it in my pocket and just lift my phone sound be all the way up.

Amy L

They do that.

AP (Amy P)

Again, like my favorite murder. And that's why we drink our, too, that the sound is high enough that I can listen to it that way and. Not lose or trail off.

Amy L

Yeah, yeah. That's why I'm I. I'm so worried about our sound. Why? I want it to be good because I wanted it to be. I remember when. My favorite murder started. Their sound was pretty. And I didn't care. I didn't know podcasts very well. They were like the third podcast. I ever heard, and so I was.

Megan

Hmm, I think they were the first one. I think I started with my. Favorite murder did.

AP (Amy P)

They're the ones I started with.

Amy L

I started with cereal. Ohh, but I love cereal. The first season, the odd one. So I had case which I listened to that series of cereal three times because it's amazing. Pretty sure that my favorite murder was.

AP (Amy P)

But OK.

Speaker 4

One of my.

Amy L

I think might have been my second one and then my favorite. But at first their sound was not great, but I didn't have that much to compare it to. I mean, I'm comparing it to two very highly produced ones and I knew their sound wasn't great.

Megan

Right.

Amy L

But I'm like. They're just a couple of girls doing this. It's fun, you know, they're just friends doing it. Whatever. I love it and I love them. And then as they started to get better, then I went back and listened to the first one again and I was like. Ohh, it was bad. Pretty bad. But I mean, it's a great show, but just the sound quality was not great. But they probably had. It all we IA enhanced by now, so it's probably fine if you go listen to it now. That's another thing I would like to do if we had, like extended time off is. To go back and see if I can fix up any of those older. Episodes that might sound like.

Speaker 4

Garage. Let's see.

Amy L

We'll see. Probably won't happen. We I I was thinking like you know, saying that we're taking some time off. We have actually already been. Off for 2-3 weeks, we haven't done anything in three weeks, so we've already had three weeks. It just doesn't seem like it because we kept saying we're gonna record, we're gonna record and then. Something would come up and we couldn't record and it kept getting pushed back. And so it feels like we haven't that. We've been working this whole time, but we really haven't. So yes, interviews. Our interviews, I think, are big. A big highlight. We've loved everyone. We talked to. The clients are so great and you know.

Speaker 4

That's six.

Megan

I wrote down Leah. We had a real shaman, which was amazing. That was a big highlight for me. I loved it and she was just delightful and so informative. And, you know, she welcomed all of our questions and she was just.

Amy L

Yes, yes. Yep. Ohh so great.

Speaker 4

Mm-hmm. Yes.

Megan

A gem.

Amy L

Yeah, that was number 77. If anybody wants to go. Back. That was Leah Lee Shawn's.

Speaker 4

Interview with Shawn.

Amy L

And and then also Kirsten, the intuitive who does drunk tarot readings. She was alright, she's number 78.

AP (Amy P)

Oh Yep.

Amy L

If anyone wants to. Go back, but yeah, all the people that we've interviewed have been really, really fun. And I yeah, yeah.

Megan

Everyone, Tracy and Randy and Donnellan and.

Amy L

Yeah, Annie. Annie was hilarious with her.

Speaker 4

Oh shoot. Yeah, she was so funny.

Amy L

And and Donald and and Tracy both have said that they would like to come. Back on the. Show whether it's to interview or to just be another guest. Or somebody or something. So I'm totally, totally up for that, I think. That would be a lot of fun.

Megan

They were so sweet. Yeah, yeah, everybody was. And I mean, yeah, I don't think we had talked to one person after we got done. We were like, well, we're we're never talking to them again. They it's all delightful.

Amy L

You know, we've invited. Everybody back. Yeah, and and Travis.

Megan

They were so sweet.

Amy L

It was. That was our last one that was really fun to talk to Travis because he gave us a different perspective. Everybody else that we talked to about the deadfalls, you know, was a client. And so we got their perspective and his was is really different. And I wanted to, yeah, sketch artist, right. Being a sketch artist, I wanted to. It was interesting to find how they find sketch artists and how they how that process works. So that was fun listening to that. So that was episode 90. Anybody listening that?

Megan

The one right before this one.

Speaker 5

Yeah, yeah.

Amy L

And then our. Listener stories. I love doing those too, because first of all. Let's work on our part. We just read stuff. Yeah, but we've had. We've had some good guests that way too. Mary came and told her UFO story. And when she starts at work. So I was working at a.

Megan

He was such a dry lover.

Amy L

***** factory and.

Megan

Yeah. We we, yeah.

Amy L

We're like, wait a minute back that up.

Megan

I love how she said it, so like nonchalantly like somebody be like, I was working at McDonald's and she's like, I was working at the ***** factory. And boy, oh boy.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, like like this is typical. This is typical conversation, yeah.

Amy L

Oh, boy, oh boy. Anyway, and then also Zoe came on to tell us some ghost stories. And then we also had.

Megan

And surprised the **** out of you that you had a a portal or something in your bathroom.

Amy L

Ohh yeah, that was during our happy hour. I think she's like Amy. I don't to alarm you, but behind you, there's people coming in and out of your bathroom because I was on the I was. In the other. Room in the bar? Yeah, in the bar. Yeah. And with my back to the bathroom door. And I'm like, what? Yeah. So there's a portal in there. And so I've been every two weeks. I don't do it religiously every two weeks, but I should say consistently, I don't do anything religiously. No, you don't, but.

Megan

Much to the sugaring of your cousin.

Amy L

I know she'll be fine.

Speaker 4

And most recently.

Amy L

We don't talk about it. Yeah, but I've been doing the the with the incense around the corners of the windows because if anyone doesn't know the bathroom down here, the portal bathroom is. Mirrors mirrors way mirrors. Sorry, I only say Windows. It is windows to the soul.

Speaker 5

Marriage. Marriage. I was like, I only remember.

Megan

One teeny tiny window. Am I remembering it from?

Amy L

Yeah, there's a tiny, tiny window, but yeah, there's mirrors all over, including facing each other in the room. So.

Megan

That's a big no no.

Amy L

Yeah, I'm not supposed to do that so.

Megan

Also, I'm still mad at Zoe for seeing that little girl too. Ohh, not not a fan, Zoe. Looking at you? Yeah. Not a fan of art, but.

Amy L

Trying to think of. Other ways that little girl could come into your. Life and I I don't know.

Megan

I mean the only thing I can really think of is John and I get divorced and I meet somebody else who has a little girl.

Amy L

He has a daughter. That's what I'm asking too.

Speaker 4

That's what I was thinking. Yeah, yeah.

Megan

That's the only cause. She's not coming for me, Zoe.

Amy L

'S not coming out of my body.

Megan

My uterus is clothes, nose for business.

AP (Amy P)

Well, you know, Speaking of all of that, I just saw Gordon Ramsay and his wife had their sixth child.

Speaker 4

She's 6.

AP (Amy P)

She's 40.

Megan

But he's only 56. I mean, it's not a big difference, but.

Amy L

Oh my goodness.

AP (Amy P)

No, no. But I mean that. But the fact that she's 49 and has a newborn now, no.

Amy L

No, but that's all to be. Having babies.

Megan

Yep. Well, I think their kids are old enough that they might be able to.

AP (Amy P)

They have like 4 are in their 20s and then they have the like.

Megan

Like help? Mm-hmm.

AP (Amy P)

A four or five year olds, maybe 3-4 or five somewhere in there. And then this. New one Jesse James Ramsey. And just because we've talked about Gordon several times in the past, so.

Megan

Oh God.

Speaker 5

Yeah, yeah, that 40.

Amy L

Months old to have a baby. I mean, people do it. But it's I certainly wouldn't take that chance, but.

Megan

Ohh yeah, he's 57. He and his wife Tana have been married since 1996. That is too many kids. All they have twins. Oh, and their oldest is Megan. Shout out Megan.

Amy L

Ah, look at that. Yeah.

Megan

That's too many kids. Yeah, that's.

Speaker 5

Six kids at.

Megan

57 year old father.

Amy L

But he's already a father, so it's not like.

Megan

I mean again again.

Amy L

He's a brand new father.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, OK. But we have some of those rock stars who are the old rockers who are in their 70s having 70s and.

Megan

Al Pacino.

Amy L

I think let's be real. These people are ******* rich. Not spending all day with their children they have.

Speaker 5

Yeah, they are.

Amy L

Yeah, for that, yeah.

AP (Amy P)

Though what I do like about I've read some things with like Gordon Ramsay, he's like. When they would travel, he and his wife would sit in first class, but his kids didn't because it's not their.

Megan

I like that.

AP (Amy P)

And so he said. And he said he would help them through, you know, through university and with a flat or whatever they were, they were going to say, but they weren't. They're not, you know, just giving them all the money. He's like, they still have to work for what? Whatever it is that they want to do. And so because.

Megan

Not like Bill Gates.

AP (Amy P)

He is a self-made as well, so it's like you. You don't gain the values. The same kind of values if it's always handed. To you, right? And that was the point. It was an article I read several years ago, but that was the point that he made. Maybe things have changed, but that was like I said, several.

Speaker 4

Right, right.

Megan

He's very he seems very down to Earth and like not like you do. You know who I am type of a person.

AP (Amy P)

Years ago, but.

Amy L

Yeah, he does.

Megan

I think he I think it'd be so fun to meet him. Because I don't. Think he's *** **** that they portray him to be him.

Amy L

I think that's a persona I. Think that's a thing for TV?

Megan

Yeah. Yeah, cause if you watch him on MasterChef junior, it is the sweetest thing. I've ever seen, like kids will cry and he'll go over to their station and comfort them. And he's like, I'm not leaving until you're done crying. Like it's OK, it's just.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, just kind of coaches on. How to get through?

Megan

Yeah, this is so sweet.

Amy L

I know I I used. To watch Top Chef Junior and it made me cry when they would get kicked off. Yeah. Yeah. And the kids weren't even crying. But I'm crying. Yeah.

Megan

I know I'm very emotional. This weekend I cried at Moana like three times, and then I cried out with frozen. I cried out frozen.

Amy L

Ohh, I could have frozen. I haven't seen Moana, but.

Megan

But I'm just I don't. Oh, my God. It's such a cute. But yeah. I don't know what my periods not due. I don't know what's going on, but man, I was a bucket of tears on Friday night.

AP (Amy P)

Little girl.

Megan

There's no way it would be a miracle.

Amy L

OK, that's good.

Megan

Moving on, I mean that's from the little girl.

Amy L

Not that you have. Might have a. Miracle, but yeah, so I had. I had noted to that recaps, just they they're still fun for me, but like we were saying, it's more fun when you really believe. The client like I still, we still all believe you guys there. We all still believe that the hauntings are there. We believe the ghosts are there. We believe the clients when they say they're getting cut the neck or whatever, correct.

Megan

We're not discrediting their experiences, we're discrediting or going after the reason that they called the dead files.

Amy L

We believe that. Right. Yeah. They're like, we're so scared. We need to get rid of the goose. And then Cindy will say so. Here's we should need to do to get rid of the ghost. And they're like, OK, and then they don't. Yeah. Yeah. And in fact do. Things to make it worse so.

Megan

Or they cry every five seconds. No tears? Yep.

Speaker 5

You know who you are.

Megan

It just it wasn't as genuine. This. I felt like it wasn't as genuine this season. The later part of the season as.

Amy L

Yeah, yeah, not everybody, but yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4

It has been.

Megan

No, not everybody. And again, we're not discrediting their experiences like like 100% they happened. We're just discrediting the reason why.

Speaker 4

Right.

Megan

They came on.

AP (Amy P)

And I I put down with the recap. That the the way that we did it changed a little bit from the way that you two had done it previously. And you know, so that everybody was kind of throwing in comments and and thoughts versus just one person going through the full loop and everything.

Amy L

Yeah, we and I don't think we'll go back to ever being like. So then Cindy walked into the room and then she said because that's just, I mean, if you've seen it, you've seen the show. You don't. Yeah, it.

AP (Amy P)

That's a lot of work too.

Megan

And it is a lot of work on our end and especially for any editing and.

Amy L

Of, but if you've seen the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, and yeah, like, because I was just to an older episode. Of ours and. I was telling this before Amy joined and I was telling Megan. I I have to watch it. The the show three times because I have to watch it once to see what it's all about and take a few notes and then I have to watch it one more time to actually write down the notes, take screenshots and and write down where the sound clips are that we want to use. And then I have to watch it a third time. On my computer so that I can stop and copy out the sound clips like record the.

Speaker

Oh yeah.

Amy L

The clips and since we don't do clips really anymore, that's done. Yeah. And not having to now, I just watch it. I sometimes will watch it twice anyway, especially if I want. If we're going to record far away from when I watched it the first time. But yeah, it's so it's a lot easier to do it this way. And I think for. The listener it's got to be, yeah. Mind, because they've already seen the episode. Yep, they're not gonna rely on us to tell them every single thing that happened in the episode.

AP (Amy P)

Or if and if they haven't, we I think we covered the majority of things that it's like, Oh yeah, now I do want to go watch that or see how that happened. Yeah. And I I watch twice, usually because I like to watch it once first without taking notes so that I can. Pay attention to the. Whole thing. And then the second time. But I usually like to try and get my mom to watch it cuz. I love her.

Megan

Yes, yes, yes.

AP (Amy P)

Take on things too, especially the, you know, we get that logic brain really coming in and.

Amy L

Especially medical stuff, yes.

AP (Amy P)

Especially the medical stuff and she's like.

Amy L

The paranormal? Diabetes, yeah.

AP (Amy P)

That's why your blood pressure is high.

Megan

Well, that's the only episode. I mean, the only explanation.

Amy L

Yeah, yeah. It's the only explanation.

Megan

Did you tell the hospital that it could be? Ghosts. Did you? No, I.

Amy L

Didn't I mention that? Yeah.

Megan

Didn't shut up. You should have. Yeah. Listen, I've been watching a show and this woman had diabetes. That was caused by the paranormal. So do you. Think that this is paranormal.

Speaker

You think?

Amy L

I will say while I was in the hospital, I was standing in my room looking out the window. Which is it was night time. So it's basically a mirror because they. They have mirror on the Madam. You can't see out. Right are so spooky. I know. And so the whole wall is basically a mirror. And I was. So I was looking and I was looking in the mirror. And I was like, there's got to be ghosts in here. Oh, there's hundred pretty spirits in here. I. Mean a hospital? Yeah, a hospital. Truck full of them. I didn't see or hear a. Damn thing, yeah.

Megan

Dang it. I mean, yeah.

AP (Amy P)

Well, and you know, you say hospitals are creepy at night time. My mom was an ICU nurse for. Decades and work the overnight shift.

Amy L

She got stories.

AP (Amy P)

I bet ohh I'm sure. We'll see if we can get.

Megan

Should have your mom on.

AP (Amy P)

Her to tell. Any see if I can get her?

Megan

As a guest, yes, we should.

AP (Amy P)

To tell any of them.

Amy L

That would be awesome, even if they're not paranormal. Just just overnight hospital stories.

AP (Amy P)

But she did float to the ER at at.

Amy L

Times, yeah, ears are weird place.

Megan

And she floated.

Amy L

She floated. She's the ghost.

Speaker 4

She's the ghost.

AP (Amy P)

We all slowed down here.

Amy L

Yeah, I was thinking one thing that you know, Ohh Eddie had sent us a an e-mail and said you could recap and he mentioned a few horror movies and. I'm like well. Any of those. So one thing I.

Speaker 4

No, I don't watch more.

Amy L

Movie in the future and I'll cut this if you don't think it's a good idea. But. If if Megan ever needs to take time off, Amy and I could discuss all the Mike Flanagan.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, I love those shows, so.

Amy L

That we.

Megan

He's Mike Flanagan.

Amy L

He's the father of the House of Usher and hunting of the. Lighthouse and all that.

AP (Amy P)

Ohh by Manor Hill House Midnight mass midnight.

Amy L

By manner mental house, yeah.

Megan

Club. Yeah, all the all the scary shows that I will ever be watching, yeah.

AP (Amy P)

Amy, have you been watching goosebumps.

Amy L

No. Yeah.

AP (Amy P)

Watch it. OK, watch it. If you have Disney. Plus, I'd watch it on there because it doesn't have you.

Speaker 4

Now do that today I did.

Amy L

Don't have the commercials? Yeah. Oh, we have Disney plus with commercials. But that's OK. I do. I still have to see the. Haunted Mansion too? I don't watch that yet.

AP (Amy P)

I I watched the Haunted Mansion again and I still really like it. I know there's a lot of people who. Didn't like. It, but I don't know what people's expectations are when they go into things, and I usually just go in with the expectation to be entertained and as long as I can follow the story and I think it's kind of fun. It's not going to win awards. I don't plan for most of the movies I watch are not going to be the ones that win awards because most of the.

Speaker 4

Yeah. No, but no.

Amy L

Right.

AP (Amy P)

Ones that win all of. Those awards are.

Amy L

Boring. Yeah. Yeah. And they also pay for it.

AP (Amy P)

Yes, they do. It's not usually a surprise.

Amy L

So I have in my notes of positive things bringing AP on. Now that we're on that, that was a good move. We're having a lot of fun. We love, we love the logic brain. Yep. Yep.

Megan

Yeah. Obviously, yes, yes. And all the fun facts she brings and.

Amy L

Yeah, but.

AP (Amy P)

Just try to help everyone out and trivia in. The future?

Megan

Delightful addition to the podcast, I think.

Amy L

Yes, yes. And our listeners have said so as well. So yes, we're glad.

Speaker 4

Yeah. Thanks, ladies.

Amy L

To have you, Amy.

Megan

And anybody who doesn't agree cannot listen. That's great. You don't have to write me comments about it.

Amy L

Go back and listen to the first year, yeah.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah, there you go.

Amy L

I also noted that I just started making a list of the names that we have for. That ghost hunter that we love so well, Bilbo, baggy jeans and then at one point, Megan, you called them. Bagel bites. Yep, that.

Megan

Because I got that from and then from and. That's why we drink. They found bagel bites. OK OK. Yep. I did not coin that phrase. I did not. I stole it from.

Speaker 5

  1. Yep.

AP (Amy P)

Yep, the whole community does.

Amy L

OK, I see. OK. OK. OK. I didn't know that. And then in the dead files chat a couple days ago, Shannon, who is in that chat and is our new patron. She called him Douche Baggins, which is which I thought was hilarious. Yeah, that's my favorite. Yeah. Yeah.

Megan

By far my favorite, yes. And accurate.

Amy L

Inaccurate. Very accurate. Yeah. I told Greg that and he's like. Oh, that's good. Ohh, that's really good.

Megan

It is really good. So thanks Shannon for that sham.

Amy L

Yeah. Yeah, we'll we'll be. We'll be using that. We'll give you credit. Yeah, I couple funny moments I had. Written down the Sharks Cherokee. Do you remember Sharkey McGraw? That was episode 70. Yes, it was. It was. When I made into audiogram. I will put that in the I'll put that splice that in and also my favorite, probably my favorite.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah. Yep, Yep.

Amy L

At the moment. That I still have when I think about it, is the dongle.

Speaker 5

I don't know what happened, you guys. I really don't like for a second. I forgot that there were other people around.

AP (Amy P)

That's exactly what it looked like, too.

Amy L

Exactly. It was priceless. Priceless. I loved it.

Megan

What happened?

AP (Amy P)

That was that was so good. Yeah. I I just wrote down, like, some of the slip ups and things that we've done that just make us laugh or like that. Just, like, wait, what? Yeah, that's what that is. I mean, I did love our directions 1.

Megan

O2 and north-south. Ohh N You go South N you guys, how are you not understanding this?

Amy L

Directions. Yeah. For South. Yeah, yeah. You go, you go up the.

AP (Amy P)

But it's South off a.

Amy L

Hill to the north and you come down.

Megan

The hill. It's South N. Yeah, obviously, you idiot. I'm not the idiot here. No, no.

Amy L

That was a really. Fun recording session. We did it here in my office.

Megan

Isn't that the one with Brittany? Yes.

Speaker 5

It's yeah.

Amy L

Two up. We did two up. So back-to-back and we had a blast and we laughed a lot. And then the next day I went to edit it and.

Megan

Yeah, we did two that was really fun.

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah.

Megan

Holy hell yeah, it was real bad. Amy brought some delicious dip.

Speaker 4

Yeah, just do that.

Amy L

Yes, if you brought some pimento cheese dip.

Megan

And and then I brought some caramel because that was our birthday.

AP (Amy P)

How many of the mental?

Megan

Recording. So I got some apple pie caramel thing. Apple crisp apple crisp. That's what it was. That's the word. Yeah.

Amy L

Oh, that's right, that's your birthday.

Speaker

Yes, that was good.

Speaker 5

The freeze, there we go.

Amy L

And that reminds me, AP gave me that day a bottle of Whistler. The Whistler, which is a like a Baileys sort of cream.

Megan

Irish. She gave me actual chocolate Baileys, which I have tried and it is delightful I.

Amy L

Or ice cream? Yeah.

Megan

Think I have it. Last, not this weekend, but last weekend because I just had a really stressful day. For some reason. I'm like, I'm gonna get some *******.

Amy L

Baileys. Yeah, why not, I.

Megan

I drank it out of my hallmark mug that my friend Caitlin bought me and it said my name on it and it says this is my. Hallmark movies mug. Ohh. Nice. It was delicious. It was so good.

Amy L

I've I drank some. I didn't drink any last night. But Friday night I had some. I just. Mixed it with soda on ice.

Speaker 4

It's really good, interesting.

Amy L

I mean, I like it by itself too, but I would drink that entire bottle in one sitting, and then I'd wake. Up and be 400. Pounds and diabetic. Yeah, but.

Megan

But the only explanation for that would.

Speaker 4

So I just make exactly. Be paranormal.

Megan

Don't know why you're linking those two together.

AP (Amy P)

Which that was one of one of the things that I wrote down was our new catch phrases and how they came about.

Amy L

Yep, yes, Yep.

AP (Amy P)

And that one that one came about from. One of the episodes that we watched, well, yeah, it was. And they closed. The bar closed. Yeah. And it was the the woman with the.

Megan

It was a bar. It was a because they were, they were going a bar. Failing marriage.

AP (Amy P)

Diabetes and and heart conditions and the trips and falls in the restaurants because. No way that it could be the rugs.

Speaker 4

It goes.

Amy L

Uneven roads or uneven steps or the roads?

AP (Amy P)

That's sounds like my grandpa, who will just say well. My shoes. It's my shoes or it's my slippers. It's.

Amy L

Yeah, that's. That's my mom too.

AP (Amy P)

The reason why he why? He tripped and fell, and not because he wasn't using his Walker. Yeah.

Megan

Your mom's exhausting. She's exhausting. She's a gem and I delightful, but.

Amy L

Is exhausting.

Megan

Based on what you said like.

Speaker 4

The stories you've said these unique.

Amy L

Yeah. She's she's. She's a little bit of work that episode, by the way, was number 86 hours, and I don't remember. It was called. No, it was. It was just called. The only explanation I believe.

Megan

Yeah. And she. Yeah, she got diabetes. And she said well. It's from paranormal. My explanation is paranormal.

AP (Amy P)

I didn't have it before.

Megan

Yeah. Could it be your diet or your, you know? And we don't know her diet, but I'm just saying common reasons that people get diabetes is diet or lifestyle. It couldn't be any.

AP (Amy P)

What type 2 diabetes is?

Megan

Of those, they're normal.

Amy L

No espanol. Well, you know.

Megan

So now anytime anything happens either on the podcast or in life, we'll text the group and. We'll be like it's paranormal. It's literally the only explanation.

AP (Amy P)

The only.

Amy L

The only? Yeah.

Megan

You have no money in your checking account. The ghost stole.

Amy L

It. Yeah, that's what's going on with my mom. I bet. Yeah, it's not that she's buying fake sushi from some lady doctor on TV. No, it's because of the paranormal. What? What? Yeah.

Megan

Candy by the truckload.

Amy L

Yeah, she got on. She got on. She saw some lady doctor on TV, and that was going to give her some. Yeah. Doctor quotes that was going to give her some or was selling some something to eat that would help with. Let's just say regularity. So she got online and wondered how much it was, and then when she found out how much it was, she said she didn't want it. And then they charged her anyway. And it's a reoccurring fee of $147. I don't know how often it reoccurs, but I found it on her bank account. And I googled the company and it is a place that sells plant based sushi. There's no way in the ******* world. That my mother would eat anything that was even called sushi. So I I I don't know what happened there, but.

Megan

I mean.

Amy L

I kept saying could they get your?

Megan

You know what helps with? Yeah, she put. It in the ticket she gave.

Amy L

It to him. Oh, my God. She's saying she didn't, but she. Did she had to him? How else?

Speaker 4

Yeah it does.

Megan

Would they? Get it? Yeah. You know what helps with regularity? Apples or pears?

Amy L

Yeah. Well, we've talked to, we went to her doctor. I told her the whole story about **** and everything.

Megan

Lots of lots of peace fruit fruits help with regularity. OK, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pears.

Speaker 4

They just, yeah.

AP (Amy P)

She likes those things all have fiber fiber, yeah.

Amy L

Sweet potatoes. It's fiber, it's fiber that she needs, her doctor told her. She has to eat fiber and she has to stop eating. So I'm over at her house. I take her grocery shopping after Walgreens. I take her grocery shopping and first of all, she's like this. That's too big. I can't possibly walk all the way. I'm like, great as. Soon as you get tired, just find a bench and I'll take your list and I'll go get everything else and meet you at the front door so she's fine, but she wants up. Every two seconds and look at everything well. Look at all of that over there like. Mom, keep moving. Let's go. So.

Megan

She is legit a toddler.

Amy L

When we finally get to. She is a toddler. We get to the store or to the checkout. She wants to pay with a $50 loans gift card like perfect, this can't be. Much more than that. So we get the I give the. Card to the lady and it had one. One cent on it. So she's already used it.

Megan

Mm-hmm. Sure.

Amy L

And she's like, no, this is a brand new card. And so the lady, it's very nicely calls over the manager and the manager goes, no, you know, there's $1.01 on it. And because my mom ***** bank account. She has no money, right? So she's. Trying to pay for it with the ones that. Are in her. Pocket and her. Hers.

Megan

Oh my God.

Amy L

I just took my card and I just told you I was like, I'm gonna just pay for it. And so she's like, no, your daughter's paying for it. And she's like what? No, she's not. I'm like, Mom, just let it go. You can pay me back later. It's fine because she always wants to pay me back. And so it was, like, 60 bucks. No big deal. So then we get to her apartment. I'm unloading all this stuff.

Speaker 5

Right.

Amy L

And I had been looking at her bank account. That's why I saw this fake sushi thing in her bank account. And I also see one day she spent $89.00 on groceries at lunch. And this was all online. She orders everything online. $89.00 one day, two days later. 147. Why?

AP (Amy P)

Must food is she eating?

Speaker 4

She's one person, yeah.

Amy L

She eats nothing. She doesn't even eat. So I said. Mom, that is more than Greg and I. Spend in two. Weeks. Yes. How are you spending that much in three days? What is? What are you buying? I don't know. I don't are. You sure? That's me? I don't remember that. So anyway, I get to her apartment. I'm. I'm loading all her stuff. See the receipt from the $147 lens order, and I only see the last two pages. The last full page is completely candy.

Megan

Oh my God.

Amy L

Vickers Milky Way. Blah blah blah, candy, candy, candy, candy, candy, candy and the page before that is mostly candy, but some cookies as well. And then I. Think there was bread?

Megan

Variety. She's got a variety. She can't get a sugar from that one thing. My God.

Amy L

So yeah, so then I go and I looked and her dining room table is full of candy. It's just candy, candy, candy and I started to take a picture of it, but she came out of the bathroom and. She would have caught me, so I didn't but. Yeah. So that's why.

AP (Amy P)

It's almost like if you she's. Doing it online, it's almost like she just put stuff into her cart and then didn't know how to take stuff out of her cart. So it's just like. Well, I guess I'm getting it all now, yeah.

Amy L

Like I do with the mail, I just put everything in my cart and then I get to the end and I'm like I'll just take out all the stuff I don't really want to really need that. My bill is like $17.00 and I'm like, **** it, I'll buy it all.

Megan

And then you never know.

Amy L

So yeah, that's what's fun about having a toddler mother. And then we're walking to her place and she goes she can't walk fast, right? And I'm right hearing the groceries. So I'm going to get there little quicker and she goes. I can't go that fast. I said that's fine. Don't bother. I'll just wait for you at the at the elevators. And she goes. Pretend like I'm 2. And I'm like mom. I've been pretending like you're 2. All day. And I said, if you were two, you'd be. In a stroller.

Megan

If you were two, I would have picked you up because it would. Have been faster than this.

Speaker

Yeah, she doesn't.

AP (Amy P)

Sound all that different from my grandpa on something. So yeah, I can. I can relate. And actually, I'm smelling. I have making Taco meat up to make enchiladas for the game and stuff. And so I had to pull some stuff aside to make some for my grandpa because he can't do. Spice at all.

Speaker

Right.

AP (Amy P)

So yeah, I'll so I go and I have found the way that I like to do enchiladas is heat up refried beans and then mix all the meat into that and then put that in in it. So kind of holds it together a little bit. It's a little like the chili cheese burritos, if you remember those from Taco Bell like.

Megan

Like my mom.

Amy L

In my mouth.

Speaker 4

Ah yeah.

Megan

So I'm going to be over in Vadnais Heights later. What time should I stop over? And would you like me to bring him to get these enchiladas?

Amy L

To get some of these delicious.

AP (Amy P)

Well, and here's what I'm planning to do because I've made these something something like this. Yeah, I'm not. I'm going to do.

Megan

I feel like it's gonna make me want them more.

Amy L

Them dry, it's going to put cheese all over the top.

Speaker

Right.

AP (Amy P)

So I'm going to put, I'm going to put some sauce inside of them and then so that they get a little bit harder top as they. Bake and then I have some queso dip that we bought a little bit ago, and so I'm going to heat that up and then pour that over the. Top and bake. It a little bit.

Megan

Longer and I met.

Amy L

That sounds delicious.

Megan

Your mom? I think she likes me. I think it'd be fine if I. Came over.

AP (Amy P)

If you're wearing that shirt.

Megan

I'll put a sweatshirt over.

Amy L

I'm a delight, Amy. They're not paying much. They're playing the Packers today are.

AP (Amy P)

They no, no, no.

Megan

But they do still.

AP (Amy P)

No. We play the same today, no.

Megan

Lights and Packers. The Saints have the ********* fans I saw Saints fans in New Orleans and the so I my ex-husband and I went to New Orleans.

AP (Amy P)

I've heard that Eagles.

Megan

And we went to the Saints game and the Saints fans were terrible. They were awful. They, like, threw things at us because my ex-husband was wearing his Titans jersey. They yelled at, like, they were just ****. Yeah, they're bad.

AP (Amy P)

It's the Eagles fans. When I listen to like, I listen to the radio station and like they'll say, even when when they go for broadcasting like they don't wear Vikings gear into the stadium, they don't, you know, like they don't associate because you will get heckled, pushed. Lots of things. Yeah, they have. The Eagles Stadium has a jail on.

Megan

It's just. Site. That's really bad. Ohh.

Amy L

My God. This is partly why.

AP (Amy P)

At least that's a rumor that.

Amy L

I don't like sports ball, it's.

AP (Amy P)

I've heard right.

Speaker 4

Because of the fans.

AP (Amy P)

But yes, enchiladas will be delicious, and they have venison in it, so beef and venison.

Megan

Another point in the Megan should go to Amy and eat her enchiladas. Column is. I've never had good venison before. Yep.

AP (Amy P)

Ohh I will. Happily make you good venison anytime if you want to. If you're cause ground, you can put it into anything that you would put beef. And you just really don't have much of A flavor difference. The coloration of the meat, it's.

Speaker 4

OK.

Amy L

So you wouldn't even notice if it's got like salsa. In it or whatever.

Megan

Anyways, just save.

Amy L

  1. Well, everybody, thanks for joining us for our new podcast all about.

Megan

Food all about food and.

AP (Amy P)

Yes. Can I? Can I tell you guys one cool thing though, really quick and I know I know you guys aren't hunters, but my brother got harvested, harvested his first deer in a while last week with a 121 year old rifle.

Megan

Why Megan wants to go eat at amys.

Speaker 4

Oh yeah, no, obviously.

Megan

I hunt for a good deal.

AP (Amy P)

The rifle is a model. It's a Winchester model 1892. It was built in 9/19/02. Wow. The last time it harvested a deer or was shot was like 1961.

Megan

Where did he get it from?

AP (Amy P)

So it was somebody that my dad worked with. It was not worked with worked out with and my brother worked out with him too. And my brother used to work as a mover. So if you ever need moving help my my brother, he knows he knows lots of good stuff.

Amy L

Good to know. Good to.

Megan

Know lots of movers and shakers.

AP (Amy P)

Yes. And so he was helping move some just a couple of items for this guy. Who himself was in his early 80s at this point, and he just really liked my brother. He doesn't hunt. No, but nobody in his family hunts. But this rifle had been in his family. And so he asked. He gave it to my brother as his payment. And. I love. That and you know, because he knows that we hunt and all this stuff. So like and so my brother's like. Are you sure? I can't. I can't do that. Once he saw what the rifle is and they're like, Yep. Nope. This is yours. You will appreciate. It versus when I go and it just gets left and sold to somebody somewhere else. So he took it in to get it cleaned and get it cleaned up to be able to to use it to see if it was still usable. It was in great condition because the best thing that the person who had. It what they didn't do was they didn't clean it after the last time they fired it. So the the powder from the casings went into the rifling of the barrel and kept it from.

Megan

Oh, nice, yes.

Speaker

So I.

AP (Amy P)

Thought the bonus would be not cleaning something right, but yeah, so just just something really cool. Like it. It's a piece of history. It was something, you know. And for those that are curious my family, we have a very good safe. We grew up with it. You know something that is, you know, we've all gone through firearm safety and and, but yeah, it was very excited. For him and. So yeah, it was the first one, he. Had gotten in a long.

Megan

Time. So that's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. Yay.

Amy L

Well, and Winchester Winchester story is a real trip too. Winchester mystery.

Megan

Yeah, that is. Slippy and a half, yes. If you don't know it, go look it. Up it is, yeah. Because she isn't that the one where she just had to keep building the house? Yeah.

AP (Amy P)

Yeah. Yes. Because somebody, somebody for. Her emotions.

Amy L

Yeah, it was a fake psychic or something.

Megan

So she it. It was constantly under construction until she died. Yeah. Yeah, it never stopped. Yeah. Yeah. Look.

Speaker 4

Wasn't it?

Megan

It up, yeah.

Amy L

So I've been there to the Winchester Mystery house. I didn't see any ghosts, but it was really.

Speaker 5

Oh, cool, yeah.

Amy L

Cool. Beautiful house. Mm-hmm. But I don't. I usually don't see them, so I guess they it doesn't that. Doesn't mean they weren't there. It just. I didn't see anything. Just like at the hospital. All right, so everybody, thank you and thank you for this this whole season and have a great holiday season. And please, as Amy P mentioned, an episode or two ago, we would love your holiday stories, yes. And whether they're paranormal or. Not just a funny junk. Local stories. Fine too. Just send us your holiday stories and then if we have time between now and the next season, maybe we'll sit down and read a few of them. You got.

AP (Amy P)

Sure, I'll OfferUp traditions like is there. Is there a tradition that your family does that you like to share with others because traditions only continue if we pass them down and start because we we decide we want to do something so.

Megan

I was just gonna say, like, fun traditions.

Amy L

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right. And a lot of people don't have any. Like, we don't have anything special that we do that my family growing up did. But I think it would be fun to, you know, maybe they'll be. Something I'd want to. Implement into my family. So yeah, that's a great idea.

AP (Amy P)

And Megan, a book I think that you would really like. Amy, I think you'd like it. Too, but it's called. The autobiography of Santa Claus. Ohh, that's what adorable. So it's a it's a chapter book, but it is one that goes through the history of Christmas. But it talks about, you know, so Saint Nicholas, you know, raised Catholic Saint Nicholas. It talks about his whole story and then it talks about how he just. Lives on and where he gets his helpers. Attila the Hun is potentially one of his helpers, because like just different things. But then it also talks about like, you know, the calendar back then and the calendar now they're not the same. And so we don't know the dates of things that happened 2000 years ago, but then it goes through and tells you like, where some of the different traditions. Came from.

Megan

Yeah, ohh, that sounds great. Yeah.

Amy L

Cool. That just sounds fun.

Speaker 4

Let's look into.

Amy L

OK, alright, I'll put that in.

Megan

Well, thanks everybody. Have a have a wonderful holiday season, yeah.

Speaker 4

Michelle, next thanks everybody.

Amy L

And we'll see you in January.

Speaker 4

If not sooner. Yep. OK.
