Pointing a HostGator domain name to your Podpage

HostGator restricts some DNS management, so the easiest way to point a HostGator domain at your Podpage is to have HostGator's support team make the changes for you.

How to request the DNS changes

  1. In your Podpage dashboard, go to Settings → Custom Domain and enter your domain.
  2. Log in to your HostGator dashboard and find Support in the left-hand menu. Support section in the HostGator dashboard menu
  3. Click Live Chat to start a conversation with HostGator support.
  4. Send them this message:
Hello, I’m trying to change the DNS settings for my domain to point to the Podpage website service. I need to set up a CNAME for “www” to point to "domains.podpage.com". I also need to add an A Record for "@" to point to "54.90.47.105". Could you please help?
  5. HostGator support will make the changes or walk you through them.
  6. Allow a few hours for the DNS changes to propagate, then visit your domain to confirm your Podpage appears. Podpage website loading at a custom domain

HostGator's screens may differ slightly from the screenshots, but this general approach works — their support team can handle the specifics.
