HostGator restricts some DNS management, so the easiest way to point a HostGator domain at your Podpage is to have HostGator's support team make the changes for you.
How to request the DNS changes
- In your Podpage dashboard, go to Settings → Custom Domain and enter your domain.
- Log in to your HostGator dashboard and find Support in the left-hand menu.
- Click Live Chat to start a conversation with HostGator support.
- Send them this message:
Hello, I’m trying to change the DNS settings for my domain to point to the Podpage website service. I need to set up a CNAME for “www” to point to "domains.podpage.com". I also need to add an A Record for "@" to point to "54.90.47.105". Could you please help? - HostGator support will make the changes or walk you through them.
- DNS changes usually take effect within a few hours, and occasionally up to 48 hours. Once they do, visit your domain to confirm your Podpage appears.
