Podcast media player support

The media player is the heart of every episode page. Podpage supports several player options so you can pick the listening experience that fits your show.

The Podpage audio player (the default)

Podpage uses its own built-in audio player on your episode pages. It matches your site's design and adds extras like clickable timestamps in chapters and transcripts, chapter navigation, resume, and lock-screen controls. Your audio is still served from your podcast host, so your host still counts every play. Learn more about the built-in Podpage media player.

Your host's native player

If you'd rather use your podcast host's own player, go to Settings → Media Player and turn off Use Podpage's Audio Player. Podpage supports the players of all major hosting companies. Features that depend on the Podpage player, like clickable timestamps and chapters, won't be available with your host's player.

Fusebox

If you use Fusebox, you can replace all the media players across your website with your Fusebox player:

  1. Fusebox only takes over when Podpage's own player is off. Go to Settings → Media Player and turn off Use Podpage's Audio Player.
  2. In your dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations.
  3. Enter your ID in the Fusebox ID field and save.

See adding the Fusebox player to your website for details.

Custom media players

You can also replace the player on any individual episode page with your own embeddable player:

  1. Get the embed code from your player's provider.
  2. In your dashboard, go to Episodes → All Episodes and open the episode.
  3. Paste the code into the Custom Media Player Embed HTML Code field and save.

Tip: Want to change how the player looks or where it appears? See editing the media player on your Podpage.
