Editing the media player on your Podpage

Podpage automatically includes a media player on every episode page (and, depending on your header style, on your homepage). Here's how the default player is chosen and how to change it.

The default player

  • Podpage uses the media player from your podcast hosting service (Buzzsprout, Libsyn, and so on) whenever it can.
  • If your host's player isn't available, Podpage falls back to a standard HTML5 player that works in all mobile browsers.

There's no built-in way to recolor or restyle your host's embedded player from Podpage — its appearance comes from your host, so check their player settings for styling options.

Switching to the Podpage audio player site-wide

Prefer a simpler player with clickable timestamps? Go to Episodes → Episode Settings and turn on Use Podpage's Audio Player. See Using the built-in Podpage audio player.

Using a different player for one episode

  1. In your dashboard, go to Episodes → All Episodes and click Edit on the episode.
  2. Scroll down to Custom Media Player Embed HTML Code.
  3. Paste the embed code for the player you want and click Save. That code is used for this episode only.

Tip: You can also choose whether episode pages show the audio player, the video player, or both — open the Episode Pages editor (under Pages → Episodes) and look for the Media Player section.
