How to get clickable timestamps in chapters and transcripts

With Podpage's built-in audio player, timestamps in your episode show notes, chapters and transcripts automatically become clickable links. When a listener clicks one, the player jumps straight to that moment in the episode.

The Podpage audio player is on by default for every site. Timestamps in chapters and transcripts are available on Pro and above.

What becomes clickable

  • Show notes: times like 12:30 or 1:02:15 written in your show notes.
  • Chapters: the start time of each chapter, plus the chapter list in the player.
  • Transcripts: timestamps in your transcript. If your transcript arrives as a raw caption file (WebVTT or SRT), Podpage turns it into readable paragraphs, each starting with a clickable timestamp. Transcripts with no timestamps are shown as they are.

Why you need the Podpage audio player

Clickable timestamps only work with the Podpage audio player. If your site is using your podcast host's embedded player, Podpage can't control playback inside it — so timestamps appear as plain text instead of clickable links.

How to check the setting

  1. In your dashboard, go to Settings → Media Player.
  2. Make sure Use Podpage's Audio Player is turned on.
  3. Save your changes.

Tip: If your show notes, chapters or transcripts already include timestamps, they become clickable right away — no extra steps needed. Learn more about the built-in Podpage media player.
