Setting up your Podpage with a Squarespace domain name

Connecting a Squarespace domain to your Podpage takes a couple of DNS changes. Squarespace's DNS editor has one interface quirk to watch for, which we'll cover below.

Before you start, add your domain in Podpage: in your dashboard, go to Settings → Custom Domain and enter your domain. Podpage then shows you the exact records to add and remove.

These steps assume your site lives at www.yourdomain.com. If you're using a different subdomain (like podcast.yourdomain.com), replace "www" with your subdomain.

How to update your DNS at Squarespace

  1. Open your domain's DNS settings in Squarespace.

  2. Delete any existing records that start with www (or your subdomain).

  3. Scroll down and click Add to create a new record.

  4. Type www (or your subdomain) in the host field, then select CNAME as the record type. Watch out: after you select CNAME, Squarespace may clear the host field — re-enter "www" if it disappears.

  5. Enter the Podpage records below.
  6. Scroll back to the top and click Save on the left.

The records to enter

  • CNAME record — Name: www (or your subdomain), Data: domains.podpage.com
  • A record — Name: @, Data: 54.90.47.105 (only needed when your site lives at www.yourdomain.com)

Tip: DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to spread across the internet. After a few minutes, click Verify Changes on your Custom Domain page to check your setup.
