Setting up your Podpage with a Hover domain

Connecting a Hover domain to your Podpage takes a couple of DNS changes. Once they're in place, your website loads at your own domain name.

Before you start, add your domain in Podpage: in your dashboard, go to Settings → Custom Domain and enter your domain. Podpage then shows you the exact records to add and remove.

How to update your DNS at Hover

  1. Log in to your Hover account.
  2. Select the domain you want to connect.
  3. In the top menu, click DNS.
DNS tab in the Hover domain management menu
  4. If a CNAME record with the host www already exists, click Edit on it. If not, click Add a Record at the top.
Hover DNS records list showing the Edit and Add a Record options
  5. Enter the Podpage records below, then save your changes.

The records to enter

  • CNAME record — Host: www (or your subdomain), Value: domains.podpage.com
  • A record — Host: @, Value: 54.90.47.105 (only needed when your site lives at www.yourdomain.com)

If you see a TTL setting, leave it at the default. For the full details on these records, see What are the Podpage DNS settings for my domain?

Tip: DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to spread across the internet. After a few minutes, click Verify Changes on your Custom Domain page to check your setup.
