Collecting emails and building a mailing list with Podpage

An email list is one of the most reliable ways to keep listeners coming back. Podpage collects email addresses for you right on your website — no extra tools required — and hands the list off to whatever email service you choose.

Available on the Pro plan and above.

Set up your signup form

  1. In your dashboard, go to Engage Listeners → Build a Mailing List.
  2. Open the Email Capture Form Setup and choose Collect Using Podpage.
  3. Customize the form's title, description, disclaimer, and button label, then click Save.

The form appears in your website's sidebar. You can also show it as a section on your homepage (in Design → Home Page), on a dedicated Newsletter page at yourwebsite.com/newsletter, or in a popup (in Design → Promotional Popups).

Subscribers confirm their email first

When someone signs up, Podpage emails them a confirmation link. They appear on the Unconfirmed tab of your mailing list until they click it, then move to Confirmed. This double opt-in is required by anti-spam laws — see Understanding confirmed vs. unconfirmed email addresses.

Offer a signup incentive

In the form settings, you can reward new subscribers after they confirm: send them to a link of your choice or give them a downloadable file, like an ebook or a bonus episode. Because the reward only arrives after confirmation, everyone on your list is genuinely interested.

Export your list anytime

Click Export on your mailing list page to download your subscribers as a CSV. From there you can import them into Mailchimp, Kit, Constant Contact, ActiveCampaign, or any other email service. Podpage doesn't send newsletters for you (here's why), though Episode Alerts can automatically email your subscribers when a new episode comes out.

Or use your own provider's form

Already have an email service? In the same form settings, choose Use my own custom email form and paste in your provider's embed code. Signups then go straight into your provider instead of your Podpage list — see How to connect your email list.

Tip: Mention your mailing list on the show. A quick "sign up on my website for bonus content" is the most effective way to turn listeners into subscribers.
