I'm Judy Oskam, and I've always been curious about people.

That's the question that has guided my career—and it's the heart of my podcast, Stories of Change & Creativity.
Every episode explores a defining moment in someone's life: what happened, how it changed them, and what the rest of us can learn from their experience. Whether you're navigating a life change, searching for a new perspective, or love hearing meaningful stories, I hope you'll see a little of your own journey in every conversation. Because while every story is unique, the lessons are often universal.
I've always been fascinated by people and the experiences that shape us. Born in Dallas and proud to call Texas home, I've spent my career telling stories—as a journalist, PR professional, professor, and podcast host. Along the way, I've learned that some of life's greatest lessons come simply from asking good questions and listening with curiosity.
One of those lessons came early in my career.
I drove past a small television station in Ardmore, Oklahoma, walked through the front door without an appointment, and asked if they had any job openings. They hired me.
That experience taught me something I've never forgotten: don't wait for the perfect opportunity. Take the first step, then figure it out.
That mindset has led me to interview remarkable people, teach thousands of students, mentor future communicators, produce documentaries, and lead education abroad programs. Whether I'm in a classroom, on a train through Scotland, or sitting across the table from a podcast guest, I'm always listening for the story behind the story.
My personal philosophy is simple:
Learn. Grow. Teach.
I believe learning doesn't stop when we leave the classroom. We grow through relationships, travel, challenges, unexpected opportunities, and the courage to try something new. When we share those experiences with others, we all become a little wiser.
