Very well done! Sarah does an amazing job describing the case. Such a difficult subject yet an important story to tell
What a great find
Excellent podcast and such a beautiful tribute to Jazzy.
A different view
Loved this podcast! I’ve never heard a case from the perspective of a juror. It was interesting to learn the process behind everything. The case itself was explained in detailed, was concise, and thoughtfully written. May Jazzy rest in peace.
LOVED.
Heard about this from my sister, had to listen immediately! Loved the content and the way it was presented! I also was able to watch the Dateline episode and have it all connected and see faces to names. Great story telling and kept me sucked in and ready for next episode! Also, super proud of you Sara! 🤍
Amazing
Great job ladies!!!!!! Top podcast!!!
Fascinating Perspective
As a listener of true crime podcasts for over 10 years, I was very interested to listen to a case from a jurors perspective. In my opinion the creators of Sequestered did a great job of sharing the juror perspective in a respectful way. For those who are leaving reviews about the “boring details” of the hotel or jury room….go listen to a podcast that isn’t told from the juror perspective. Those details are what set this series apart from others. The prosecution and defense sides were both given equal weight and I appreciated the lack of bias as the story was being told. Thank you for serving on the jury, taking that role seriously, convicting Jasmin’s killer, and appropriately sentencing him.
Worth listening to
This podcast honoring Jasmine Pace was poignant, honest and incredibly informative. Sara and Andrea portrayed everyone so well. Obviously much time was taken to research all the facts and feelings. So well done. I could hear the humanity and compassion in Sara’s voice 100%. Thank you for sharing about Jasmine and her family who will continue to be in my prayers. I hope they are able to eventually remember Jasmine more often with smiles than tears. “We have moments, some of them long and filled with laughter, but the sense of what we lost is never far away” (from a parent who lost a child, which I have experienced as well) 💕
Haunting Narrative: Personal Reflections on a True Crime
Despite living near Chattanooga, I was unaware of this horrific crime until listening to the podcast. It offers a unique perspective that will resonate with true crime enthusiasts, as it felt personal and well-documented. However, there were times when the narrative became overly detailed and strayed off topic, losing focus on the core story. I deeply empathized with Jazzy and her family, who had to relive this trauma. Unfortunately, I found the narrator's monotone voice hard to listen to—often too slow—and while her clarity was appreciated, the dark background music felt distracting and unnecessary, making it difficult to hear courtroom testimony. If you find the pacing slow, try adjusting the playback speed to 1.25 or 1.5; it helps significantly. I remained curious about Jason Chen's motivations: is he a psychopath? Did he snap? The fact that he returned to dating apps so quickly is haunting. Overall, the podcast was engaging, leaving me eager for the next episode, despite some redundancy that could be managed by fast-forwarding. Hearing such details made it hard to sleep at night, and I was left feeling sick for what Jazzy experienced.
Loved it
I am glad I found this podcast, you could feel your compassion and empathy for the victim and family. I thought you did A great job of telling the story.
It’s a journey
As a true crime fan, this podcast is everything you could want, and more. Sara takes you through her experiences as a juror during the trial for Jasmine Pace. It is evident Sara and her team value accuracy while honoring the victim. I felt like I was on the journey with her as a fellow juror with her descriptions and attention to the smallest details. It’s raw and humbling. Sara and Andrea, I hope to hear more podcasts from you.
Great Deep Dive
Listened to another podcast that covered this in just one episode. It was very interesting to get a deeper understanding of the case. Very well done. So so tragic. Every case is difficult to understand why, but this one was especially difficult. There seemed to be no history of violence from Jason Chen and we never really understand what happened that night that led to this.
Amazing work
Fascinating content. Done with such respect for everyone involved, especially Jasmine and her family. While I’ve served on a jury, never one of this magnitude and never sequestered.
Excellent story telling!
I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and this is definitely in my top ranks. Getting an opportunity to hear from a juror’s perspective was so fascinating. This case is so upsetting and heartbreaking. The way the case was handled from the prosecutors all the way to this podcast was an example of true respect for the victim and also a raw look at what unfolded. I binged this one. P.S. My prayers and heart goes out to her family and his family too.
Powerful
Very compelling and binge worthy.
Excellent
Enjoyed hearing about this case and trial from the perspective of a juror. Well done!!
Interesting perspective for true crime lovers
As an avid listener of true crime pods, this was an interesting perspective I had not heard before. We always hear from the POV of the investigators, victims, witnesses, etc. but not from the people who heard and weighed the evidence to determine if the accused was guilty of the crime. Must listen for any true crime enthusiast!
Jazzy
This podcast made me watch the dateline and I would say, you painted the better picture, lack thereof due to circumstances, of what happened. You went the other mile(s). Gave us a whole different perspective. For one that has never served on a jury, I commend you. That had to be hard on all aspects. And I Thank you for providing justice when the cops weren’t…just there, advocating. My heart breaks for the family as I’m a growing family with two teenage/adult kids, so heartbreaking and I will tell share jazzy’s story with my kids. Yellow light sticks with me too.
Sooooo goood!
Really loved this podcast! Such an easy listen, really enjoyed Sarah’s story telling and voice.
Interesting
Well done ladies! This was an interesting perspective. Thank you also for keeping Jasmine and her family at the front of the story.
Loved it! Proud Tennesseean
This podcast was so well done! Also, as a Tennesseean, I’m so proud of how the state of Tennessee got Justice for Jasmine Pace!
Great podcast
Sad story of a wonderful young woman with a ton of potential.
Well Done
It was wise of you to omit the more salacious details of Jasmine’s brutal murder to spare both the listener, her friends and family and others who may be victims of severe abuse at the hands of those they love and those who they think love them. Your comments in the last episode about being a juror and especially about if you were called to do so again were honestly admitted and profound for those of us who have yet to serve in this important role. The comments by both Attorneys General were a thoughtful and importantly informative addition to your podcast. I’m so glad you included them. The amount of data on the website is admittedly overwhelming yet lends to the significant task you and your fellow jurors had ahead of you. Based on all of it, you made the right call. Well done.
So well done!
I picked this podcast randomly one night and so glad I did. I really liked it and couldn’t wait for the next episode. Very informative and also respectful of Jazzy and her family. Really well done!
