From Combat to Calm
In my recent episode, From Combat to Calm, Jeremy Chenvert shared his journey from a combat veteran to finding his peace. It struck a chord with me. While most of us will never truly know the reality of combat, we all fight battles we don’t always share—whether that’s grief, trauma, addiction, or the weight of life itself. Jeremy highlighted just how difficult it is to adjust and heal after coming home, but his experience resonates with a universal truth: healing is messy.
It is easy to scroll through social media and see highlight reels that make recovery look like meditating in the sun, but most of us know that isn’t the reality. In truth, we are all constantly healing—not just from past events, but from the everyday trials of life like illness, job loss, or depression. Yet, there is beauty in that struggle. Through every war we fight, we build new tools and discover new strengths. I don’t have all the answers, but I’ve learned that with each challenge, I’ve unlocked parts of myself I didn’t know existed. It’s never easy, but wherever you are in your journey, I hope you realize that you aren't just breaking—you are building.
