Princess Anne’s Jail Cells Were Checked Before Court Appearance

Princess Anne once came surprisingly close to an overnight stay that would have been unlike anything normally associated with royal life. A former Buckingham Palace press secretary has revealed that officials inspected the cells at Slough Magistrate's Court before Anne appeared there in two thousand and two, just in case the Princess Royal was sent to jail. Elisa Anderson, who served as Press secretary to Queen Elizabeth I, recalled the preparations during a discussion with the Son's Royal Exclusive. Anne appeared in court after her English bull terrier Dottie attacked two children in Windsor Great Park. Anderson said, I was there in Slough Magistrate's Court she lost control of her dogs. She pleaded guilty, but royal officials apparently had to prepare for every possible outcome. Anderson explained, well, again, we had to check the courts beforehand and look at the jails downstairs, just in case they pushed her down.

1:05 When host Matt Wilkinson asked whether that officials had actually inspected the cells Anderson replied yes, just in case she was sent down. Asked again whether imprisonment really had been considered a possibility, Anderson confirmed, we checked the cells. The inspection was partly a security exercise. Palace officials needed to understand the facilities and no who else might be held in the area if Anne were taken into custody. Asked whether there were other prisoners downstairs at the time, Anderson said there were few, and the accommodations were apparently not particularly royal. Anderson said they were basic, Matt. They were basic, not quite what she was used to right, but she didn't have to go to any of these cells and ultimately pleaded guilty to an offense under the Dangerous Dogs Act and became the first senior member of the royal family to receive a criminal conviction. She was fined five hundred pounds and ordered to pay another five hundred pounds in compensation, along with one hundred and forty eight pounds in court costs. Dotty was required to undergo training and be kept on a lead in public. The judge did not order the dog to be destroyed, although Anne was warned that another incident could result in that happening. King Charles has stripped ten people of their British honors so far in twenty twenty six were the most prominent case involving former Democratic Unionist Party leader Jeffrey Donaldson. Donaldson was convicted in June of eighteen offenses including rape and and decent assault involving two women when they were children. He had already asked for his knighthood to be forfeited and

2:36 has resigned from the Privy Council. However, formally removing an honor requires a process that ultimately ends with the Sovereign acting on official advice. Donaldson is actually the tenth person to lose an honor this year. In March, Charles approved the forfeiture of honors from nine other people in a single batch. Ian Ashbolt and Lloyd Hamilton birth lost their mbes following criminal convictions. Angela Middleton, who received an MBE in twenty nineteen, had hers removed for bringing the honors system into disrepute. Nigel O'Connor lost his mb following professional censure, while Tony Riley had his OBE canceled for the same reason. Annatshah, who received an OBE in twenty twenty, lost the honor for bringing the honors system into disrepute. Paul Rose, the owner of a Cumbrian ol sanctuary, was stripped of the MB he received in two thousand and two following animal welfare offenses. Graham Truella lost his MB following a criminal conviction, and perhaps the best known name in that March group was former Scotland A Rugby captain Stuart Hogg. Hogg was awarded an MB in twenty twenty four, but stripped of it after admitting domestic abuse. The formal language used in the March cases was essentially identical. The King has directed that the appointment be canceled and annulled. Although these announcements are made in the King's name, charless and personally sitting down and deciding gets kicked out of the honors system.

4:02 Cases are considered by the government's Forfeiture Committee, which can recommend removing an honor when someone's conduct is considered to have brought the honor's system into disrepute. Recommendations ultimately go through the Prime Minister before being submitted to the King for formal approval, so when the announcement says the King has directed that an honor be canceled. It is the final constitutional step in a government run process, rather than Charles personally compiling a royal blacklist more palace in just a moment, Prince Edward is being described as the victim of an increasingly strange quirk in the royal line of succession, with one royal commentator arguing that the rules should be reconsidered.

4:43 The Duke of Edinburgh as one of the most active, working members of the royal family, but his position in the succession continues to move downward as younger generations of the family have children. Former BBC Royal correspondent Jenny Bond argues, I do think the line of succession should be revised and shortened. There's something rather rediculous about the hard working and popular Duke of Edinburgh being knocked down the succession line to make way for Eugenie's third baby, and it's preposterous to think that Andrew mount Batten Windsor is still eighth in the line of succession. I think the air and their children should be enough, or perhaps for safety, just make it the first five. The issue has received fresh attention following the arrival of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brook Bank's third child. Earlier this year, Bond said, I think this long line of succession has become rather ridiculous.

Personally, I think they should also remove Harry and his children, plus Beatrice, Eugenie and their children from the line of succession. James, Earl of Wessex, sixteenth in line, just below the new baby Royal, has reportedly taken on a summer job at King Charles Sandringham estate. The eighteen year old son of Prince Edwin and Sophie has apparently been spending part of the summer working on the estate's farms. It has been spotted driving tractors around Sandringham. James recently completed his A levels and is currently waiting for his results, giving him some time this summer to take on the job, and a state worker told the son everyone is so used to only seeing James smartly turned out with his family, had functions at Christmas in the easter, so he had to do a double take.

6:18 He might be the King's nephew, but he is more than happy to get his hands dirty and muck in. Driving tractors around Sandringham is not an easy task and it can mean long hours, but it doesn't matter how rich you are. Learning a good work ethic at a young age can always help. The King is known for his fondness of the countryside, and he couldn't be proud of knowing that the younger royals share his love. James is currently sixteenth in laying to the throne, immediately behind his older sister, Lady Louise Windsor, but neither James nor Louise is expected to become a full time working royal. Their parents have long prepared them for the likelihood that they will eventually pursue careers outside the monarchy. Lady Louise, seventeenth in line, has marked the end of her university year is where a new look as she moves into the next stage of her life. The twenty two year old recently graduated from the University of Saint Andrew's and has now traded her longer hairstyle for a shorter bob.

7:11 Louis showed off the new haircut last weekend while competing at the Glebe Estate carriage driving trials in West Sussex. Celebrity stylist Jay Birmingham told Hello, once the bob was perceived as a more grown up cut, but those days are long gone. Whilst long hair will never go out of fashion, it simply isn't raining supreme anymore as the younger generation begins to experiment with different lengths, textures and silhouettes. Louise is also following the example of her mother, Sophie recently shortened her own hair into what has been described as a princess bob rush. Hair Editorial director Tina Fari said Louise's new style accentuates her high cheekbones and oval face shape features and personal style. Very added that both mother and daughter look gorgeous with their new short haircuts, refreshing their look before the end of summer. Louise's appearance at the carriage driving competition also attracted attention because her boyfriend Felix the Silver Clamp was there supporting her. The couple wore batching navy caps bearing the initials of the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Louise initially wore the cap with a white T shirt and colorful shorts before changing into a traditional tweed outfit for the competition. Felix and Louise met while studying at Saint Andrews, and their relationship has gradually become more public. He recently made his first appearance on the royal family's official Instagram account when he accompanied Louise as she received her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award at the Palace of Holyrood House.
