Andrew Wants Royal Titles Back

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor may be preparing for another confrontation with the Royal Family following his recent legal victory over police search warrants.

The Daily Mail reports that some of Andrew's friends are encouraging him to challenge the loss of his royal titles and seek a greater role in family life.

An unnamed source claims Andrew believes he has been unfairly treated and is tired of being made a scapegoat. While he reportedly accepts that his days as a working royal are over, he wants to stop being treated as an outcast.

The report also suggests Andrew resents what he sees as more lenient treatment of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, despite the Sussexes' public criticism of the monarchy.
But Andrew's personal relationships may be deteriorating.

The Times reports that Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are no longer speaking, with an unnamed source claiming Fergie is not welcome at his new home on the Sandringham estate.
Other reports suggest Andrew has resumed socializing with longtime friends, including shooting parties, while speculation continues about a mystery woman allegedly visiting his residence.
Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson is reportedly considering her own future outside the Royal Family.
Tabloid sources claim Fergie has been encouraged by the controversy surrounding Earl Spencer's recent book about Princess Diana and may eventually consider publishing a revealing royal memoir of her own.
Sarah has denied planning a tell-all, but Radar Online claims unnamed sources believe she could wait until after King Charles's death before revealing private family information.
And there is a significant financial development.

King Charles has reportedly lent Andrew approximately $2 million to settle the repair costs associated with his departure from Royal Lodge. The Crown Estate has confirmed that Andrew's lease has ended and that the property will be marketed for future use.

The payment follows reports that Andrew received an early surrender rebate of approximately $400,000, reducing the amount he owed for repairs.

Finally, another reminder of Sarah Ferguson's fall from royal favor has emerged. A plaque commemorating her opening of accommodation for families of children receiving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital has reportedly been removed, although the reason remains unknown.

Questions this episode answers: Is Andrew Mountbatten Windsor trying to reclaim his royal titles? Could Andrew challenge King Charles's decision in court? Why does Andrew reportedly believe Prince Harry has been treated more favorably? Are Andrew and Sarah Ferguson no longer speaking? Is Fergie banned from Andrew's new home? Does Andrew have a mystery woman in his life? Is Sarah Ferguson planning a royal tell-all book? Could Fergie wait until after King Charles's death to publish her memoir? Why did King Charles reportedly lend Andrew $2 million? What happened to Andrew's Royal Lodge lease? And why was Sarah Ferguson's hospital plaque removed?

Crown and Controversy: Kate Middleton

0:03 Caloroga Shark Media. Hello and welcome to Palace Intrigue. I am your host, Mark Francis. The Daily Mail reports that some of Andrew's friends now want him to challenge the loss of his royal titles as well. According to an unnamed royal source speaking to the Daily Mail, something of the old Andrew has returned. The spirit of the grand old Duke of York has been rekindled. He believes he is an honorable man who has been unfairly treated. He is determined not to be just a punch bag or a scapegoat. He is sick and tired of his lot and has started to fight back. One society figure told the newspaper, Things have gone too far. The feeling is that Andrew needs to be welcomed back, at least to some extent. Anything formal would be fraught with difficulties when it comes to things like table plans. The mail's source said because Andrew, who would once have been guest of honor, is now outranked by many in the turnip-toff set. The newspaper also claims that some friends have encouraged Andrew to consider a legal challenge over his titles. Its source said, He remains the son, brother and uncle of future monarchs.

1:11 Most people don't realise that. Technically, he is still the Duke of York. He still insists on being called Sir and Duke at home. Only an act of Parliament can extinguish his title. The account suggests that Andrew is looking for more contact with his relatives rather than expecting to resume the official duties he once carried out. The source said he always has felt that his nephew has been treated leniently compared to himself, especially as Andrew has remained loyal to the throne and would never do anything that would cause trouble. That's very unlike Harry and Meg's stone-throwing and tittle-tattling across the pond. The wider family sees he deserves credit for not rocking the royal boat. Although he knows that his hopes of riding again and trooping the colour are gone, he wants to be accepted back into the family rather than be hidden away as a pariah.

1:55 The true extent as to how far he is still being frozen out by his own family should become clear at Christmas, where the optics of an isolated Andrew whilst the rest of the family party nearby is causing courtiers some jitters. Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly no longer speaking, with an unnamed source claiming she is not welcome at his new home on the Sandringham Estate. A source told the Times, The Red Setter, as she's known, is not welcome at Marsh Farm. She's persona non grata as far as Andrew is concerned. Another unnamed source claims he remains socially active and has support from long-standing friends. Don't believe all that poor Andy crap the source told the Times. He's having a very nice time, thank you very much.

2:36 He goes out, he goes off shooting with his friends. He sees his old chums who are very loyal to him. He's not sitting around feeling sorry for himself anymore. I don't agree with this viewpoint, but there's a feeling among a lot of these chums that this is a storm in a teacup and it will blow over. An April report from Radar Online claimed Andrew had been secretly receiving visits from an unidentified woman. Their insider said, Given the scrutiny that continues to surround him, the idea of a new woman being discreetly brought into Marsh Farms intensifying speculation...

3:20 and raising further questions about what is happening behind closed doors. Separately, the National Examiner's source alleged, the more Fergie looks back at the way everything went down, the angrier she gets. She trusted Andrew, and now she's paying the price for it. The only way to save her skin seems to be by totally coming clean and telling her side of the story. For years, Sarah has looked foolish standing by Andrew, but now it's taken on a much darker tone, and it's truly destroying her life. Everyone is telling Sarah she's only hurting herself by continuing to protect him. Sarah's next move remains unclear after leaving Royal Lodge with the Express raising Australia as a possibility because her sister lives there, Jane Ferguson.

4:02 Ludecky lives near Lake Tugarra in New South Wales. A source told Heatwell that the reaction to Charles Spencer's book had caught Sarah's attention. No one knew this book from Charles Spencer was coming until the last minute, so it's taken Sarah by surprise. although for her it's been a very good surprise because it's got the king and everyone else within the firm completely on the ropes. It's a good reminder of the sort of chaos someone can cause with a tell-all like this, and considering how close Sarah has been to the family over the past five decades, odds are she could do a lot more damage to the king's legacy than Earl Spencer has. A separate source claimed Sarah's denial of her own book was itself tactical. Sure, she's loudly denying any talk about signing a deal of her own, but that's very much a part of her strategy.

4:47 She wants the king and the rest of the family to know that this is a choice that is ultimately up to her. Sarah has denied planning a royal tell-all, while Radar Online claims unnamed sources believe she could postpone such a book until after King Charles' death. Sarah understands that while Charles is king, publishing intimate details about the family would potentially be financial suicide and seem tasteless, one source claimed. But she is looking much further ahead. There will always be publishers interested in her story, whether that is 5, 10 or 15 years from now. She is said to be waiting until Charles' death to make his move. Her calculation now is that preserving Charles' goodwill potentially has greater value than taking a huge publishing check. She doesn't want to close a door that could conceivably provide security for herself and Andrew. A second unnamed source claimed, Sarah has lived through decades of extraordinary royal history and knows there would be enormous interest if she ever decided to tell absolutely everything. But publishing that material while Charles is alive would come with consequences. She knows exactly how badly a book containing private conversations and family disputes could be received.

5:53 Nothing has been promised financially, but Sarah doesn't want to destroy the possibility of help by antagonizing the one person who could potentially provide it. The books can wait, the stories aren't going anywhere, and frankly, they may become more valuable with time. More Palace in just a moment. Hey, before I get back to Palace, a quick note from me. Charles has reportedly lent Andrew approximately $ 2 million to settle the repair bill for Royal Lodge after his brother surrendered the lease on the Windsor property. The Express reports that the King used personal funds so the Crown Estate would receive the money promptly. How Andrew will repay him is being treated as a private matter. Independent advisers assessed the repair liability of roughly $ 2. 4 million, covering the main house, an outbuilding and the grounds. An early surrender rebate of about $ 400, 000 reduced the amount Andrew owed. The Crown Estate now has confirmed that the Royal Lodge lease has ended, its spokesperson said. The lease for Royal Lodge has ended and our focus now is firmly on its future use and the opportunities to generate additional financial value for the nation from its early return. Royal Lodge will now be marketed by two nationally recognized property agents. There are currently no reported plans for another member of the Royal family, to move in. A plaque marking Sarah's opening of accommodation for families of Great Ormond Street Hospital patients has reportedly been removed. The Daily Mail reported that the plaque was missing from the Home from Home Hostel, which Sarah opened in 1990. It described an outline and two

8:18 holes remaining in the brickwork. There is no confirmed explanation for its removal. Sarah lost several charity patronages in September 2025. Following renewed scrutiny of her association with Jeffrey Epstein, she has not been accused of wrongdoing. Her own foundation, Sarah's Trust, announced its closure in February after the release of further correspondence between her and Epstein. A spokesperson said the closure had been discussed for some months. And there you have it. If you'd like to email us, our address is thepalaceintrigue at gmail.com.
