00:00:03.200 --> 00:00:14.679
Calorogus Shark Media. Hello and welcome to Pallace intrigue Game,

2
00:00:14.720 --> 00:00:18.359
your host, Mark Francis. Prince William met with Donald Trump

3
00:00:18.480 --> 00:00:21.920
during the ceremonial reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

4
00:00:22.280 --> 00:00:25.039
Trump called the Prince of Wales a great man and

5
00:00:25.079 --> 00:00:27.879
reflecting on his fond memories of the late Queen Elizabeth.

6
00:00:29.000 --> 00:00:30.839
The first two shook hands and briefly spoke at the

7
00:00:30.879 --> 00:00:33.479
cathedral before a forty minute sit down meeting at the

8
00:00:33.520 --> 00:00:37.200
British Ambassador's residence. William greeted Trump warmly at the door,

9
00:00:37.240 --> 00:00:39.759
saying great to see you. The pair posed for photos,

10
00:00:40.000 --> 00:00:42.759
with Trump praising William saying he's a big man, this one.

11
00:00:42.799 --> 00:00:46.560
He's doing a fantastic job. Kensington Palace described the meeting

12
00:00:46.560 --> 00:00:49.200
as warm and friendly. Trump and the Prince reportedly discussed

13
00:00:49.200 --> 00:00:52.920
the importance of the US UK special relationship as well

14
00:00:52.920 --> 00:00:56.359
as global issues. Trump also shared warm and fond memories

15
00:00:56.359 --> 00:00:59.320
of the Queen. The gathering marked Trump's first meeting with

16
00:00:59.359 --> 00:01:01.320
a member of the royal family since his twenty twenty

17
00:01:01.359 --> 00:01:03.759
four election win, and his first in person interaction with

18
00:01:03.759 --> 00:01:07.560
Williams since twenty nineteen. During Trump's State visit to the UK.

19
00:01:08.120 --> 00:01:11.200
At that time, Trump described Queen Elizabeth as fantastic and

20
00:01:11.239 --> 00:01:14.480
has since spoken positively of his interactions with the British Royals.

21
00:01:15.239 --> 00:01:17.239
Footage of Trump and William greeting each other at the

22
00:01:17.239 --> 00:01:19.959
ceremony has gone viral, with one user on x commenting

23
00:01:20.040 --> 00:01:22.079
Prince William turned into a fanboy as soon as he

24
00:01:22.120 --> 00:01:25.400
saw President Trump. The world knows the boss Man is back.

25
00:01:26.599 --> 00:01:30.640
One notable absence raised questions. King Charles William's presence was

26
00:01:30.680 --> 00:01:33.719
only confirmed late Friday, with AIDS citing charles earlier visit

27
00:01:33.760 --> 00:01:36.280
to the restored Cathedral as a reason for his absence.

28
00:01:36.599 --> 00:01:39.159
The Palace remained tight lipped about whether his health played

29
00:01:39.159 --> 00:01:41.280
a role. A source close to the King and Queen

30
00:01:41.319 --> 00:01:43.640
told The Daily Beasts that the royal couple is prioritizing

31
00:01:43.680 --> 00:01:46.599
their well being in the lead up to Christmas, particularly

32
00:01:46.680 --> 00:01:49.280
after Queen can Miller's bout with viral pneumonia following their

33
00:01:49.319 --> 00:01:52.760
long haul trip to Australia. It's been a nasty reminder

34
00:01:52.840 --> 00:01:55.879
of their vulnerabilities, the source explained, standing out on the

35
00:01:55.879 --> 00:01:58.359
cold for hours on end just wasn't worth the risk.

36
00:01:58.719 --> 00:02:02.079
William embraced his expanding role as a global statesman, joking

37
00:02:02.079 --> 00:02:04.560
with Trump during the one on one meeting, we can

38
00:02:04.599 --> 00:02:07.280
warm our toes up after the cathedral, equipped as they

39
00:02:07.319 --> 00:02:10.439
sat by an open fire, Trump responded warmly, Yes, I've

40
00:02:10.439 --> 00:02:14.199
warmed up. It was a beautiful ceremony. Meghan's much anticipated

41
00:02:14.240 --> 00:02:17.639
lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, is facing yet another delay,

42
00:02:17.759 --> 00:02:20.520
leaving the Duchess of Sussex very angry. According to Royal

43
00:02:20.560 --> 00:02:24.120
biographer Angela Levin, Levin tells GB News she's now asked

44
00:02:24.159 --> 00:02:27.400
for another three months on the trademark application deadline. Levin

45
00:02:27.400 --> 00:02:29.840
added that if Megan can't resolve the issue within this

46
00:02:30.000 --> 00:02:34.400
extended period, the entire process may need to restart, potentially

47
00:02:34.759 --> 00:02:38.719
delaying the project by another year. The complications stem from

48
00:02:38.759 --> 00:02:40.759
objections raised by Harry and David, the owners of the

49
00:02:40.800 --> 00:02:44.319
Royal Riviera trademark. The US Patent and Trademark Office issued

50
00:02:44.319 --> 00:02:47.599
a non final officer action, which Megan must address before

51
00:02:47.599 --> 00:02:51.120
the application can proceed. Levin suggested that her name change

52
00:02:51.120 --> 00:02:53.039
could solve the problem. All she had to do was

53
00:02:53.120 --> 00:02:55.520
change the name. They don't want the name because it's

54
00:02:55.560 --> 00:02:57.960
too familiar to a name where she lives in Montecito,

55
00:02:58.319 --> 00:03:01.240
but she's sticking to it and making life very, very complicated.

56
00:03:01.560 --> 00:03:04.319
Levin warn that starting over could have significant consequences, delaying

57
00:03:04.319 --> 00:03:07.080
the project and potentially forcing the complete rethink. They've said

58
00:03:07.080 --> 00:03:08.680
to her they will give her three months, but after

59
00:03:08.719 --> 00:03:12.680
this they will have to start all over again. Somewhat

60
00:03:12.759 --> 00:03:15.439
lost in last week's very busy Royal calendar was the

61
00:03:15.520 --> 00:03:18.800
documentary titled Harry The Lost Prince. The Mirror pulled out

62
00:03:18.840 --> 00:03:21.960
some of the highlights. Veteran soldier Ben McBean, who served

63
00:03:21.960 --> 00:03:26.039
alongside Harry in Afghanistan, criticized the prince for airing family grievances.

64
00:03:26.080 --> 00:03:30.080
In his memoir Spare and Netflix series, McBean said, mate,

65
00:03:30.159 --> 00:03:32.759
just leave it. Our family's family. He likened Harry's behavior

66
00:03:32.759 --> 00:03:34.879
to a friend complaining about an AX on social media,

67
00:03:34.919 --> 00:03:39.120
calling it unnecessary. Meanwhile, Montecito neighbor Richard Miniards commented on

68
00:03:39.159 --> 00:03:42.560
the couple's integration or lack thereof, into the local community.

69
00:03:42.599 --> 00:03:45.080
He said Megan doesn't really go out or get involved,

70
00:03:45.080 --> 00:03:47.759
adding that Harry, while more sociable, is rarely seen either.

71
00:03:48.400 --> 00:03:52.400
The Sussex's public appearances were labeled carefully orchestrated by Diane Davies,

72
00:03:52.439 --> 00:03:54.800
a former head of Royal protection. He claimed the couple

73
00:03:54.800 --> 00:03:58.199
primarily mingles with elites during their tours, while interactions with

74
00:03:58.280 --> 00:04:02.159
everyday people are staged. Davies also criticized Harry's decision to

75
00:04:02.199 --> 00:04:05.520
reveal his Taliban kill count in Spare, calling it totally unwise.

76
00:04:05.960 --> 00:04:09.000
He warned that such admissions make Harry a target, increasing

77
00:04:09.000 --> 00:04:12.639
security risks. Royal expert Jack Royston accused the couple of

78
00:04:12.680 --> 00:04:15.319
bordering on corruption in their Hollywood ventures. He argued that

79
00:04:15.360 --> 00:04:18.279
their ability to profit from royal ties while presenting themselves

80
00:04:18.279 --> 00:04:22.399
as public servants creates a conflict of interest. Finally, the

81
00:04:22.439 --> 00:04:27.199
documentary highlighted financial challenges facing the Sussex's Archibal Foundation. Donations

82
00:04:27.199 --> 00:04:30.399
reportedly fell from thirteen million dollars in twenty twenty one

83
00:04:30.600 --> 00:04:35.160
to two million in twenty twenty two. Filmmaker Urique Grunenwall

84
00:04:35.240 --> 00:04:37.439
revealed that Harry and Meghan dedicate just one hour a

85
00:04:37.480 --> 00:04:41.000
week to the foundation. The Sussexes have not publicly responded

86
00:04:41.040 --> 00:04:45.160
to the documentary's claims. Buckingham Palace has shared the official

87
00:04:45.279 --> 00:04:48.120
Christmas card for twenty twenty four, featuring a serene portrait

88
00:04:48.160 --> 00:04:50.360
of King Charles and Queen Camilla. The image taken in

89
00:04:50.399 --> 00:04:54.279
April by renowned portrait photographer Millie Pilkington captures the royal

90
00:04:54.319 --> 00:04:57.240
couple in the garden of Buckingham Palace. Charles and seen

91
00:04:57.279 --> 00:04:59.360

92
00:04:59.399 --> 00:05:03.319
profileble hand in his pocket, exuding a relaxed demeanor. Beside him,

93
00:05:03.399 --> 00:05:06.399
Queen Camilla looks elegant in blue will Crape outfit by

94
00:05:06.519 --> 00:05:10.000
luxury designer Fiona Claire. Inside the card, the simple yet

95
00:05:10.000 --> 00:05:13.040
warm message reads wishing you a very happy Christmas and

96
00:05:13.160 --> 00:05:20.720
New Year pellas intriguer right back. Japan's Imperial family, the

97
00:05:20.759 --> 00:05:25.000
world's oldest continuous monarchy, faces a dire succession crisis fueled

98
00:05:25.000 --> 00:05:29.680
by an aging dynasty and restrictive succession laws. Emperor Marahito

99
00:05:29.800 --> 00:05:33.639
sixty four and Empress Masako have one daughter, Princess Aiko,

100
00:05:33.759 --> 00:05:36.439
born in two thousand and one. However, under the nineteen

101
00:05:36.480 --> 00:05:40.040
forty seven Imperial Household Law, only males in the paternal

102
00:05:40.079 --> 00:05:45.480
line can inherit the chrysanthemum throne, leaving Aiko ineligible. Currently,

103
00:05:45.519 --> 00:05:49.199
there are only three male heirs. Crown Prince Fumihito fifty

104
00:05:49.199 --> 00:05:51.879
eight is nineteen year old son Prince his Ahito and

105
00:05:52.040 --> 00:05:55.560
Prince Hatachi eighty eight. The family's numbers are dwindling, seven

106
00:05:55.600 --> 00:05:58.000
of its members are over sixty, and women lose royal

107
00:05:58.040 --> 00:06:02.040
status upon marrying commoners, further reducing the ranks. The crisis

108
00:06:02.120 --> 00:06:05.759
is compounded by resistance to reform among traditionalists, who cite

109
00:06:05.759 --> 00:06:09.120
millennia of male succession and fear that allowing female rulers

110
00:06:09.120 --> 00:06:12.600
would undermine the monarchs legitimacy. Meanwhile, Poles indicate that ninety

111
00:06:12.600 --> 00:06:15.720
percent of the Japanese public supports permitting women to ascend

112
00:06:15.800 --> 00:06:20.480
the throne, aligning Japan with other modern monarchies. Proposed solutions

113
00:06:20.480 --> 00:06:23.879
include allowing princesses to retain royal status after marriage and

114
00:06:23.920 --> 00:06:28.959
reinstating descendants of former aristocratic families. However, these measures face

115
00:06:29.040 --> 00:06:33.279
political and cultural hurdles, with performists and conservatives deeply divided

116
00:06:33.319 --> 00:06:37.480
over how to ensure the monarchy's survival, and they have
