Prince Harry “Desperate” to See King Charles as Meghan reportedly Tells Him to Give Up on Royal Family

Prince Harry is reportedly determined to secure another meeting with King Charles, but Meghan Markle may have a very different idea about how the couple should handle their royal relationships.
According to the National Examiner, an unnamed source claims Harry is frustrated by his father's apparent reluctance to arrange another meeting and is prepared to keep calling until he gets an opportunity to explain himself.

The report suggests Harry fears Earl Spencer's recent book about Princess Diana may have damaged his relationship with Charles. Harry reportedly insists he knew nothing about the book before its publication and refuses to distance himself from his mother's family.
Meghan, however, is said to be encouraging Harry to stop chasing reconciliation. The source claims she believes they should move forward without depending on the Royal Family.

Meanwhile, Radar Online claims Princess Eugenie has been keeping her distance from Harry and Meghan as she attempts to protect her relationships with Charles and Prince William. According to the report, Eugenie's reluctance to become involved has complicated Meghan's hopes of using her royal connections to expand As Ever in Britain.

There is also a striking contrast between the royal brothers.

Prince William has been playing cricket outside Buckingham Palace with sporting legends including Joe Root, Ajinkya Rahane and Brian Lara. The event promotes November's Earthshot Prize ceremony in Mumbai, expected to be the organization's largest gathering yet.
And iPaper columnist Richard Palmer argues that Harry could rebuild his popularity by following Princess Diana's example, embracing charitable causes while finding a way to repair his relationship with the British public and press.

Plus, Meghan's latest kitchen photographs are attracting attention for their expensive appliances. Her stainless-steel range resembles a Thermador model costing as much as $19,800, while her copper cookware comes from a luxury brand.

And a new photograph suggests Meghan may be wearing an Oura wellness-tracking ring, similar to one Harry wore during the couple's 2018 Australian tour.

Questions this episode answers: Is Prince Harry desperate for another meeting with King Charles? Why is Charles reportedly avoiding Harry? Has Earl Spencer's Diana book damaged the father-son relationship? Does Meghan want Harry to stop pursuing royal reconciliation? Is Princess Eugenie distancing herself from Meghan Markle? Could Eugenie help Meghan's As Ever business? Why was Prince William playing cricket outside Buckingham Palace? Can Harry rebuild his popularity by following Princess Diana's example? Crown and Controversy: Kate Middleton

0:03 Hello and welcome to Palace Intrigue. I am your host, Mark Francis. Prince William fed the media by bringing cricket to the mall today. Joining some of the sport's best-known players for a game outside Buckingham Palace as he prepares to take the Earthshot Prize to Mumbai next month. Tourists arriving for the changing of the guard found the Prince of Wales taking his turn with a bat alongside players including Joe Root and Ajinkya Rahan. William also bowled to West Indies great Brian Lara and caught some of the players by surprise with a high shot before heading over to speak to spectators and pose for selfies. The event was designed to build interest in Earthshot's November gathering in India using a sport with an enormous following there and a long history in Britain. It gave William a way to promote the awards beyond the usual speeches and announcements, while putting the relationship between the two countries at the centre of the occasion. It also stopped everyone from talking about Harry and Meghan for an hour. William has had some practice of this particular form of royal diplomacy. He and Kate played cricket during their visit to Mumbai in 2016, when Catherine joined the game wearing a dress by Indian designer Anita Dongri. They also took part in cricket during visits to New Zealand in 2014 and Pakistan in 2019.

1:25 This time, the London match was a preview of a much larger event. Earthshot organisers say the Mumbai gathering will be their biggest yet, with 5,000 guests expected at the awards ceremony on November 18th. Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar will host the awards evening. Speaking recently to People, Johar said, I think Prince William is a huge contributor to the discussion of climate change, someone of his stature, someone of his power in the world for him to take on a cause. relentlessly and effortlessly, with so much passion, really makes all the difference. Many people provide lip service about it, but very few people really act on it. He is the man who is acting on it every day of his life. In the iPaper, Richard Palmer writes, There was a time when Prince Harry was so popular, no UK newspaper editor would dare criticise him, but these days it is Prince William who is virtually untouchable. Harry can surely look to the example set by his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, who like him, was a private individual after her divorce but was able to sustain much of her popularity. Granted, their positions are not exactly the same.

2:28 She did not seek to make money on the side, perhaps because she had no need to, after receiving a £ 17 million lump sum and annual £ 400, 000 to run her private office in a divorce settlement that left her living at Kensington Palace. Harry has no such luxury but is still not short of the bob or two. What is more important is that he can follow Diana in using his independence from the institution, and state to speak up more freely than William and other family members about the big challenges facing Britain and the world. Diana famously incurred the wrath of the British government by speaking out against landmines, among other issues, but ultimately she was on the right side of history. It won't endear him to the royal household or other parts of the establishment, but Harry can use the platform his birthright gave him to help hold Britain and other nations' governments to account. There is still one big block here Diana complained about and undermined the monarchy, but she also played the game with the media and the public. Harry needs to do the same now, make peace with the remaining sections of the media he is still at war with, and return to be the fun, loving prince everyone used to admire, even if he did wear his heart on his sleeve and show his anger and frustration at times. Indeed, harnessing that emotion to the causes he cares about could be the key. Harry is reportedly trying to arrange another conversation with King Charles, while Meghan is said to be encouraging him to stop pursuing the family, a source tells the Examiner. Harry is ready to call every number he has until he reaches his father to demand some face time. He's taken the high road so far and waited for his father to extend

4:00 an invitation, but nothing has come and Harry can't wait forever. The report portrays Harry as frustrated by the lack of an invitation and concerned that a book by his uncle, Charles Spencer, may have contributed to the situation. The source claims it's incredibly hurtful to be shuffled off like this. He's trying to figure out why the king has suddenly done such a 180, and his worry is that it's got something to do with Charles Spencer and his book. Harry swears up and down he knew nothing about the book, that his uncle kept it all to himself, but of course it looks bad that he was so chummy with him right before the book dropped. That being said, he's not willing to dump him, the Spencers have been wonderful to him, and he's not going to ice them out to please his father. The source said Harry wants a chance to explain his side of things to the king, and he says he won't let this go until he gets to speak to him. but claimed Meghan is not on the same page. She's telling him to let it go, that they don't need his family, the source alleged. Radar Online claims that Eugenie has been keeping her distance from the Sussexes while trying to protect her relationships with King Charles and Prince William, leaving Meghan's reported business hopes on hold.

5:04 According to Radar's sources, Meghan was interested in Eugenie's network across Britain and Europe. The suggestion is that Eugenie could have made introductions and helped attract More palace in just a moment. Hey, just a quick aside. Many of you over the years have told me that someone in your family has started a podcast. You've got a grandson, a niece, a friend from the book club. If that's you, I have something they might like. My team and I have built a podcast studio called Linit. It lets you write, record, edit, and publish a show all in one place right inside your web browser. And it's got some AI help in there too to help you along. And it's what we've learned from making this program every day. And I'm using it right now to edit and publish this show. It's free to try while we're testing it through November, so if there's a podcaster or a social creator in your life, pass it along. Linnetmedia.com. That's L-I-N-N-E-T media dot com. We appreciate your support. Megan's latest kitchen photographs have attracted the attention of interior designers, with the room being described as a blend of California style and English country house influences.

6:30 And while the wooden shelves and neutral colors give it a relaxed appearance, some of the equipment comes with a substantial price tag. The stainless steel range appears to be a 48-inch Thermador Pro Grand. Newer versions cost approximately $ 12, 000 to $ 19, 000. Megan is also pictured stirring a copper pot identified as a Movile piece. A six-piece cookware set from the company retails for about $ 2, 300, although the photograph does not tell us whether she owns the full set. The room combines oak cabinets with marble countertops, a wall-mounted tap and a large wooden extractor hood. Open shelves hold plates, a vase, chopping boards, as-ever products, while food and greenery add some color. Interior designer Jordana Ashkenazi, founder and designer and director of Element One House, says there is definitely a thread running through all of Megan's kitchens. Megan appears to like a serious cooker. Natural timber, open or accessible storage.

7:28 Handmade-looking accessories in a kitchen that feels functional rather than formal. The aesthetic changes, but the ingredients are remarkably consistent. Meghan has favoured versions of that farmhouse look in the homes associated with her life in Britain and California. Ashkenazi believes the latest photographs show preferences developing, saying the room feels like a much stronger evolution of Meghan's taste. It's still farmhouse in spirit, but this feels much more contemporary and European than Frogmore. There's less of the traditional English country kitchen language and more of that understated organic look that has become very popular in high-end interiors. Homes and Gardens makes a similar observation, highlighting the pale timber, continuous marble backsplash and everyday objects displayed on the shelves. The magazine sees the combination as part of a wider preference for natural materials that make kitchens feel warmer and less formal.

8:19 Whether the room is actually in the Sussexes' British residence remains unconfirmed. A recent photograph of Megan has drawn attention to a gold ring on her left hand, with People magazine identifying it as what appears to be an URA wellness tracker. the same brand Harry was wearing during their Royal Tour of Australia in 2018. The ring was visible on Meghan's middle finger as she modelled the charity sweatshirt she helped design with mums offering more. It is believed to be an Oura Ring 4, which records information about sleep, activity, heart rate and other wellness measures through a smartphone app. Prices for that model start at $ 349.
