Palace Slaps Down Harry’s Buckingham Palace Claim

Buckingham Palace is pushing back on reports that Prince Harry will stay at the palace during this week's visit to Britain, following a confusing public exchange between the Palace and the Duke of Sussex's representatives. On Monday, a spokesperson for the Duke told Sky News that Harry had accepted an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace while in London. The Palace, however, disputed that account, saying the accommodation would not be available because a deadline had been missed. Harry's spokesperson responded that the offer had now been withdrawn, with Tuesday's expected court judgment in the Duke's legal case against Associated newspapers given as the reason. The spokesperson added, it is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment. He argued that Kingham Palace had known about the timing of the court ruling since last Thursday. The latest development comes just days after reports emerged that Megan Prince Archie and Princess Luli Butt will no longer accompany Harry at the start of the trip, but could join later. The report suggests the decision was made because of continuing concerns about security.
