King Charles “Vexed” With Harry & Meghan as Calls Grow to Strip Sussex Titles

King Charles is reportedly frustrated by the latest round of complaints surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. An unnamed source claims the King wants Harry and his children in Britain but is increasingly concerned about leaks, demands and continuing friction between the Sussexes and the Palace. The source also claims Prince William has been urging his father to take a tougher approach.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail columnist Richard Eden argues that Charles should follow the example of Denmark’s Queen Margrethe and remove Harry and Meghan’s royal titles, pointing to Margrethe’s decision to change the titles of Prince Joachim’s children.
Another report claims Meghan is trying to establish relationships with royals outside William and Catherine’s immediate circle as she builds a new life in Britain. Former Archewell president Mandana Dayani, meanwhile, has spoken positively about Harry and Meghan and says she considered their decision to leave royal life courageous.
There’s also local chatter about Meghan’s security arrangements in the Cotswolds, along with reports that she has become a regular at reformer Pilates classes at Soho Farmhouse.

Plus, King Charles and Queen Camilla are preparing to visit the Bahamas, where reparations campaigners are demanding an apology over Britain’s historic links to slavery. And a separate report examines the King’s famously specific travel routines and claims those arrangements have become increasingly important during his cancer treatment.

Questions this episode answers: Is King Charles frustrated with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? Does Charles want Harry back in Britain? Is Prince William pushing King Charles to take a tougher line with Harry? Could Harry and Meghan lose their royal titles? Why is Meghan reportedly building relationships with other members of the Royal Family? What has former Archewell president Mandana Dayani said about the Sussexes? Why are Bahamas reparations campaigners demanding an apology from King Charles? And what are King Charles’s unusual travel requirements?

0:03 Hello and welcome to Palace Intrigue. I am your host, Mark Francis. Meghan's security arrangements are drawing complaints from some Cotswolds' residents. One source, quoted by Paula Frolic, alleged that Meghan arrives on her own with a coterie of bodyguards during prime shopping times and walks around if she is very important. The report quotes descriptions of her presence as terribly inconvenient and annoying, with one resident calling her approach to security hysterical. Megan has reportedly been making new acquaintances at Reformer Pilates classes as she settles into life in the Cotswolds. The Daily Express quotes an unnamed source who says she's been attending sessions at Soho Farmhouse, the private member's club in Oxfordshire. The source said Megan absolutely loves Reformer Pilates. It's a great way for her to unwind as well as make new friends in the area. Meghan has become a regular at the classes inside the wellness barn and she's chatty and polite. Everyone in the classes gives her space. It's a very tranquil setting and no one wants to disturb her peace. King Charles is said to be frustrated by complaints from the Sussex camp. A source tells Closer, Charles was not pleased that Harry gave him so little notice about coming back and put everyone at the palace on the back foot. That was bad enough, but since then there's been a steady stream of complaints coming from the Sussex camp, along with plenty of demands.

1:32 There's a huge sense of entitlement and a reluctant acceptance that no lessons were really learned. It's pretty vexing to the King that so many details are being leaked out. Harry and Meghan may not be going on the record, but they are clearly trying to control the narrative by approving certain stories and making snarky responses to all the backlash via their trusted favourites. To be clear, Charles is not looking to force Harry out, quite the opposite in fact. He actually does want him and his children around, but as much as Charles wants the chance to spend more time with his grandchildren and with Harry, he's not in the position to allow a whole lot to slide. The King's advisors hold a huge amount of sway with him, not to mention the fact that he's got William in his ear non-stop, telling him he needs to toughen up on Harry. In the Daily Mail, Richard Eden suggests... It's time for the king to follow the European royals and strip Harry and Meghan of their titles. It will upset his son, but their continental cousins have already proven it's the only course of action. Eden writes, The royal family has always seemed to me to have a slightly condescending attitude to their continental cousins. While European monarchs have regularly travelled to this country for big occasions, such as royal weddings, ours haven't always returned the compliment. More often than not, it's been Prince Edward who's been dispatched to a royal wedding overseas, rather than our monarch or even our heir to the throne. The so-called bicycling monarchies of Scandinavia have frequently been the subject of mockery when contrasted with our proper monarchy and its horse-drawn carriages and numerous palaces and

3:04 all the pomp and circumstance you could want. While Queen Elizabeth II reigned for a record-breaking 70 years, Queen Marguerite II of Denmark, her third cousin, was a similarly respected figure who was on the throne for 52 years. Unlike Queen Elizabeth, Margaretha did not reign until her death. Instead, she announced her abdication at the age of 83 in a speech televised to the nation on New Year's Eve in 2023. It was the first time in nearly 900 years that a Danish sovereign had voluntarily stepped down to make room for a younger generation of royals and came as a major shock because Margaretha had always insisted that her job was for life. Before she abdicated in favour of her eldest son, King Frederick X, who was married to the Australian-born Queen Mary, Margarita made a point of doing something which caused deep upset. In September of 2022, she announced that the children of her youngest son, Prince Wahim, would no longer be styled as prince or princess from the following year onwards. The dramatic decision affected four of her grandchildren, Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Enric and Princess Athena.

4:10 It's time for the king to follow the example of his Danish counterpart and take action which will undoubtedly upset his youngest son, but will benefit the monarchy and the country. And apologies for any mispronunciations there. Meghan is reportedly looking to strengthen ties with members of the royal family outside William and Catherine's immediate circle, according to an unnamed source quoted by Heatworld. Heat's source claims the latest statement from the palace was very much pushed by William and Kate, and Meghan knows that. The Waleses have felt totally blindsided by the way Harry and Meghan, announced their arrival back to the UK, and with everything that's happened over the last few years, they just don't trust them. There is nothing new in the statement, but William felt it was necessary to remind them where the lines are drawn before anything happens. Meghan wants to build a life in Britain that does not depend on the approval of William and Kate.

4:58 If the senior royals refuse to make room for the Sussexes, Meghan will create her own network around the royals who are prepared to accept them. She wants to humiliate them with her new powerful circle and show them that they don't have complete control over the royal family or her. Former Archwell president Mandana Dayani says she remains close to Harry and Meghan and that her decision to leave royal life was one reason she wanted to work with them. The Daily Mail's Richard Eden quotes Dayani describing the couple's departure as an act of courage. Watching them dissent against this institution and say... This isn't right for us. That, to me, felt really brave. I had a lot of respect for how they had the courage to do that, because I think that's really hard to do. Of their working relationship, she said, We actually had a great relationship.

5:44 We still do. Dayani joined Archwell in 2021 and stepped down in 22. She reported directly to Harry and Meghan, taking up her role during the period when the couple were on parental leave following Lilibeth's birth. Their contract continued after Deani left Archwell. Last year, Megan sent her products from As Ever, prompting an Instagram post recalling an earlier visit to the Sussex home. Megan, I will never forget the first time I came to your home and you walked me back to my car with the most beautiful garden basket and eggs from your coop for our girls. More Palace in just a moment. King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit the Bahamas as part of their autumn tour running from October 27th to November 4th, and reparation campaigners want an apology. Dr Niyambi Hall-Campbell-Dean, chair of the Bahamas National Reparations Committee, told the Mirror, The link between the British crown and slavery is undeniable. For King Charles to come to our island and not be prepared to apologise for the wrongs of the past is unacceptable. Our message is loud and clear. Don't come here empty-handed. Radar Online says King Charles' highly specific travel routines have become even more important while he continues cancer treatment, with staff reportedly going to considerable lengths to recreate familiar surroundings wherever he stays. One source told Radar, Charles has always been incredibly particular about his environment, but there is a feeling these requirements have become even more important while he is receiving treatment. Familiarity, comfort and routine matter enormously when his

7:17 schedule remains demanding, so staff want everything arranged precisely before he arrives. Another source said, What might look excessive in a habit that is getting worse from the outside is regarded within his household as part of keeping the king comfortable and able to work while he contends with his health situation. His treatment simply means there is even less appetite for unnecessary disruption and consequently the preparations surrounding trips can be more exacting than ever. The article also revisits claims from journalist Tom Bower's book Rebel King about Charles' long-standing travel habits. Bower wrote that on one occasion Charles sent staff ahead with a truck carrying furniture to replace what was already in the guest rooms. According to Bauer, the truck included Charles and Camilla's bedroom furnishings, the king's orthopedic bed and his own linens. Other reported items included a small radio, a preferred toilet seat, specific toilet paper, bottled water, Lafray whiskey, and even paintings of the Scottish Highlands.
