Harry and Meghan’s Money Troubles?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly abandoned their search for a multimillion-dollar British home and moved into a separate property on a wealthy friend's Cotswolds estate.

Meanwhile, RadarOnline claims the Sussexes are cutting staff as their spending puts pressure on their finances. Anonymous sources describe their lifestyle as unsustainable, although the couple have not publicly confirmed the alleged financial difficulties.

Harry is also reportedly blaming Queen Camilla for preventing another meeting with King Charles. Sources claim he feels increasingly frustrated by his father's absence and Prince William's continued refusal to reconnect.

Another report suggests Meghan regrets publicly discussing the 2019 police warning letter containing allegations against her father, Thomas Markle. However, friends and royal journalists describe the Duchess as deeply distressed by the allegations while also relieved that they are finally being examined. Markle denies wrongdoing.

Elsewhere, William and Kate's Halloween photograph of Prince Louis sparks another comparison with Meghan, who remained quiet on social media over the holiday.

And could Robert Irwin have been the alternative to Meghan for Junior MasterChef Australia? A new report claims the wildlife presenter was waiting in the wings if her reported hosting deal fell through.

Crown and Controversy: Kate Middleton

0:01 Hello and welcome to Palace Intrigue. I am your host, Mark Francis. Harry and Meghan have reportedly moved into a home on a wealthy friend's estate in the Cotswolds, calling off their search for a property of their own. According to the Daily Mail, the couple have been staying at the businessman's main house with Archie and Lilibet since returning to Britain in August. They've now moved into a separate property on the same grounds. A friend of the owner told the paper they were living in the main house. They have now moved to a property on the estate. Harry reportedly met the businessman through their shared support for military charities. The owner is said to be happy for the family to continue living there.

0:48 His identity and the estate's location haven't been disclosed. The Oxford Mail reports that Harry and Meghan had been looking for a house with a budget of up to £ 10 million. They reportedly wanted at least nine bedrooms, extensive land and no public rights of way through the property with privacy a priority. Harry and Meghan are reportedly cutting staff again with Radar Online claiming their spending is putting increasing pressure on their finances. The outlet quotes sources who say jobs at Archibald Productions have been reduced over the past 12 to 18 months. Those cuts reportedly include production staff who worked on Meghan's Netflix lifestyle program with Love, Meghan. The last thing they wanted was to cut back on staff, but they had zero options, one insider claims. Radar also points to reported cuts at their charitable operation, saying three of its five employees were let go in December of 2025.

1:41 The article quotes a spokesperson describing that downsizing as inevitable. Its sources claim the couple haven't reduced their personal spending to match their changing business circumstances yet. Their lifestyles are totally unsustainable, and the spending sprees have gotten totally out of proportion to their actual income, one says. Harry reportedly believes Camilla is standing in the way of another meeting with his father, a source tells Closer. It's absolutely astounding to Harry that he still hasn't been able to get a second visit with his dad and the kids since they arrived in the UK, and now he's having to accept that Camilla is likely to blame. A number of people have quietly told him that she's blocking him and Unfortunately, it does seem to be the most logical explanation. She acted as though it was all water under the bridge and things would be grand between them all going forward.

2:30 His father seemed to be in the mindset too, which is what gave Harry the push to move back. He thought it was all going to get better. Express Royal reporter Jasmine Carey commented, he's been back for over two months and a meeting with his father, King Charles, has not taken place. What is more of a slap in the face for Harry and Meghan is this. the fact that the public do not seem to have yet forgiven them. Two months back and it seems that they have failed to change the public's mind about them. Kerry also writes, I think Harry and Meghan can learn something from their two months of living back in the UK so far. I think they need to understand why the public can't forgive and forget. I mean, they really didn't hold back from criticising Britain and the monarchy and they should apologise.

3:13 They also need to know that improving their image will take time. because in truth it will be a long process in which they will need to prove themselves and will require that they prove they aren't just back in the UK for financial reasons. Harry is reportedly frustrated that William has made no attempt to reconnect since his return to Britain. According to the Daily Star, a source claims, William's acting like Harry and Meghan don't exist. Ignoring Harry is his way of handling what he considers to be a wretchedly unpleasant situation. Harry's known to be impulsive, and the more wound up he gets, the more likely he is to follow through on threats to make William regret this. He insists he's tried to find every possible way to say that he's sorry. He's genuinely shocked that there's not even been a shred of forgiveness on William's part. Meghan regrets bringing a 2019 letter about her father into the public conversation, according to an unnamed source quoted in Rob Shooter's very gossipy Naughty But Nice newsletter. The letter, written by Rosalind Loveless, reportedly contained allegations about Thomas Markle and other members of the family. Megan referred to it when explaining her estrangement from her father and her decision to keep her children away from him. Shooter's source claims that mentioning it has brought a tension she hadn't anticipated. The source says Megan deeply regrets bringing this letter into the public conversation. Nobody would be discussing it if she hadn't tried to use it to explain her family breakdown and attack the press. The newsletter cites a Sunday Times account describing the handwritten letter as seven pages long and rambling.

4:46 It also says police dismissed it, although Shooter's piece provides no police statement explaining how it was assessed or what the decision meant. The source calls Megan's decision to discuss it a serious miscalculation, claiming she had hoped it would answer questions about the family's estrangement. Instead of silencing her critics, she has invited even more scrutiny, the source says. On Hello, a Right Royal podcast... Emily Nash said it's a very, very difficult and painful moment for her, and from talking to people close to her, she's been in bits. Whatever your feelings about her, whether you're a fan or not a fan, and we know many people aren't, you cannot help but feel some sympathy for her being caught up in this situation, which is way beyond her control and deeply, deeply troubling. That is something that people close to her have said to me this week. That on one hand, she's looking at her own children who are obviously very young and feeling horrified on behalf of any other children allegedly caught up in this situation. At the same time, there is a sense of relief because it's something that she and Harry have had to carry for a very long time, and people close to them as well. So there is a degree of relief that people now know the full story. Angela Levin posted on Twitter, Why is Meghan crying? Does she regret she has come to the UK?

6:01 She hated it from her first round. Is she crying because people of all kinds can't understand why she did or didn't find a letter which She didn't do anything about. More Palace in just a moment. William and Kate marked Halloween with an old photograph of Prince Louis, and that has prompted another comparison with Meghan. According to Reality Tea, the picture showed Louis, around a year old, posing beside a pumpkin. Kate reportedly took it herself, and it hadn't previously been shared publicly. Meghan, meanwhile, didn't post a similar family update this Halloween. Last year, she shared an Instagram reel of Archie and Lilibet visiting a pumpkin patch. That difference was enough for a GB News commentator to suggest the two women had switched their usual approaches, with Catherine sharing a personal family moment while Meghan stayed quiet. The commentator argues that choosing an older photograph allowed William and Catherine to join in with Halloween without releasing a current picture of Louis. It gave followers something from the family album while keeping this year's celebrations private. The report raises speculation that Megan's silence could be connected to the allegations involving her father, which he denies. There's no confirmation of that, and Megan hasn't explained why she didn't share a Halloween update.

7:19 Is Megan keeping Robert Irwin off MasterChef Australia? According to Women's Day magazine's unnamed source, Robert was a backup option if the arrangement with Megan didn't go ahead. Word is that Robert Irwin was being held in the wings in case this deal with Megan fell through. He absolutely loved being on that show, and it's easy to see why he'd have made a perfect co-host. The magazine says Robert and Megan attracted similar audience numbers for their earlier appearances, although Robert's aired on a Wednesday and Megan's on a Sunday. And there you have it.
