According to a source quoted in the Puck piece, Megan admired the way Gwyneth Portroit built Goop into a bold, exclusive brand and wants to carve out a similarly commanding space of her own. The insider shares there was the thought that she could dominate any space she decided to get to, but she doesn't want to be accessible. The source contrasted her approach with Gwyneth's unapologetically elite stance, saying Gwyneth was like, I don't care if you're pouring. Can't afford this, get in or get out. She's not building a lifestyle empire, and there's no one that works for the brand. She's outsourced the entire brand to Netflix. They send samples, and she picks what she likes. 7:17 Examines how the Sussex's finances have evolved since their twenty twenty departure from royal duties. After stepping back, the pair famously sat down with Oprah, laying out their reasons for leaving, and then set up a new life in the US, purchasing a fourteen point sixty five billion dollar at state in California. But the initial property price was just the beginning. The couple reportedly took out a nine point five million dollar mortgage, with monthly payments estimated between fifty and one hundred thousand dollars. The sprawling seven point four acre estate features nine bedrooms, manicured gardens, and even a separate dwelling where Meghan's mother, Dori at Ragland, is said to stay. Royal commentator Emily Andrews described the setup as idyllic. They're living their lovely, lovely, lavish lifestyle and the Montecita mansion.

Yet the most high watering figure may not be the mortgage. The documentary claims the Sussexes spent around three million dollars annually on private security. With their royal protections stripped following their exit from official duties, Harry and Meghan have had to fund all safety measures themselves, something Royal editor Russell Myers believes they may not have fully anticipated. Maya said, I don't think they thought about their security and what that would mean when it was stripped away from them. They were left with a huge, huge bill. The documentary also touched on Harry's recent legal efforts to challenge the downgrade of his UK security status earlier this year. He lost that case and said he was devastated not so much with the loss but with the people behind the decision, adding that he now saw no way to win this through the courts. As a result, Harry stated bluntly, I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.
