03 Calorogu Shark Media. Hello and welcome to Palace Intrigue Game, your host Mark for answers. Prince Harry and Megan Michael's Montecito mansion isn't just a grand twelve million dollar at state. It's also home to some finicky residents, the koi fish in their pond. When the Sussexes purchased the nine bedroom, sixteen math property in twenty twenty, the estate agent warned them about a unique challenge. The koi were stressed in spare. Harry joked that while he and Meghan were also feeling stressed at the time, the koi needed specialist care, requiring a koi guy to handle their needs. The couple even had to ask around about finding a qualified fish therapist to keep these upscale aquatic inhabitants calm and healthy. Caring for koi is no small commitment. According to Aquatic Veterinary Services, just an initial checkup can run up to three hundred dollars, with additional costs for each individual fish's care, diagnostic tests, or treatments. These first world problems, as Harry put it, at up quickly, and it is part of the expenses that come with running a property of this size, the rest of the estate isn't any simpler to manage. Sprawl and grounds, a pool and tennis courts, The Sussex's mansion requires an estimated ten to fifteen full time staff, including housekeepers, groundskeepers, a house manager in security. According to real estate experts, maintaining a property like this can cost hundreds of thousands per year for upkeep, landscaping, and staffing alone. The mansion
36 also features some unique personal touches, a playhouse for Archie and Lulibet, a chicken coop charmingly labeled Archie's Chicken, and a grand library. Meanwhile, we're told Kate and William don't have a butler. In New king New Court, Royal biographer Robert Hardman reveals that William and Kate have chosen to keep a minimal staff presence at their Adelaide Cottage home in Windsor. Hardman explains the couple did not seek to boost the staff numbers at Adelaide Cottage, not least because there would be little room to do so. The Kensington Palace team does include a yeoman, a versatile attendant handling tasks from luggage to uniforms, but there is no formal valet or butler. A source emphasized it's very much like them at home with the kids, underscoring their focus on family life. According to Royal expert Katie Nickel, William and Kate encouraged their children to pitch in with household chaws.
26 Nichol shared, they absolutely do menial tasks. They are far more ordinary than many might imagine. The kids even have to do chores and return for their pocket money. It's about them wanting to have a normal, happy, ordinary family home and lifestyle. The children's ambitions also lean toward more down to earth career paths. Prince George, despite being second in lane to the throne, once toltally business owner that he was interested in working in a restaurant after seeing a pizza oven near the at Norfolk Home. Hollywood veteran Tim Matheson has reflected on his time directing Megan Markel on suits. Matheson recalled Meghan's a professionalism and charisma on set, telling Fox News Digital, I never had to worry about a scene she was going to be in. I knew that she'd bring a performance that was just right. He fondly remembered socializing with the cast, including Megan during an early dinner, describing her as lovely and highlighting a sparkle, a little sparkle in her eye. Reflecting on Meghan's eventual engagement to Prince Harry, Matheson admitted his surprise, noting that when he worked with her in twenty eleven, she was engaged to somebody else, referencing her marriage to film producer Trevor Engelson. He recognized the significant shift in her career trajectory, saying my first thought, big an actor, was she's going to quit acting. It was a bold move on her part, especially marrying into the Royal family. Meghan's final Suits episode aired shortly before her twenty eighteen wedding to Prince Harry, marking the end of her acting career. Matheson weighed in on the Sussex's departure from royal life, expressing support for the couple. I find it refreshing that she's as candid
58 and honest about her ex experience both of them are, he said. However, he admitted uncertainty about the dynamics within the Royal family. I don't know what to believe about how accepted she was by the Royal family. I'm sure there's a whole other side of things I have no knowledge of. Stephen Davies, once a trusted chauffeur for Princess Diana, has revealed that he only learned the reason behind his dismissal in nineteen ninety six after watching The Crown. Davies, who had hoped to dedicate his career to working for Diana, was abruptly let go after allegations arose that he had leaked information about her, a claim he now knows was baseless. The Netflix series shed light on the role BBC journalist Martin but Sheer played in this dark chapter of Davy's life.
41 According to The Crown, Basher fabricated claims against Diana's close circle, including Davies, to manipulate her into granting him the infamous Panorama interview. Reflecting on this revelation, Davies told The Daily Mail that the false accusations cost him not only his dream job, but also Diana's trust. She died believing I had betrayed her, and that's something I can't ever forget or forgive. Tell us Intrica, we right back. In an uncovered letter from nineteen ninety eight, King Charles expressed his admiration for the Orthodox Church, describing it as the only Christian denomination untainted by what he called loathsome political correctness.
23 Then Prince of Wales, Charles wrote to his friend Dudley Poplack, a close royal family collaborator, that he was increasingly drawn to the timeless traditions of the Orthodox Faith. This letter, which emerged in a recent auction, sheds light on his interest in Orthodox practices, echoing the influence of his late father, Prince Philip, who was baptized Greek Orthodox before converting to Anglicanism. Charles affinity for Orthodox tradition has been a quiet consistent theme throughout his life. At his coronation last May, he paid homage to his paternal heritage by including a Greek choir which sang Palm seventy one, in a nod to Phillip's Orthodox roots. The king has also reportedly sought guidance from archimandrate a Frame, a Greek Orthodox monk, especially after his recent cancer diagnosis. His fascination with Orthodox spirituality is even visible in his home High Grove, where he has displayed prized Byzantine icons, some originating from the revered Mount Athos.
20 Charles's letter also criticized genetically modified crops, calling GM foods Frankenstein food, filling him with gloom and despair. In nineteen ninety eight, the same year he penned the letter, he publicly denounced GM foods as overstepping humanity's bounds into domains he believed were reserved for God alone. This glimpse into Charles' private beliefs contrast with his public stance as King, where he has pledged to champion the diversity of Britain's faiths alongside his role as head of the Church of England. In a delightful update for Royal enthusiasts, Buckingham Palace will open its East Wing to visitors beyond the traditional summer tourist season. This expanded program follows the success of this year's summer opening, which saw record breaking attendance and allowed public access to the East Wing, home to the iconic central Balcony, for the first time since its construction one hundred and seventy five years ago. Starting in January and running through May, guests can enjoy ninety minute guided tours for ninety pounds, offering a deeper exploration of the history and significance of the East Wings rooms during a period when the palace typically remains closed to the public. This initiative aligns with King Charles's earlier commitment to enhance public access to the Palace year round, ensuring that more people can experience the rich history and grandeur of the royal residence.
34 For the first time, visitors will enter through the palace's front gates and traverse the forecourt, mirroring the experience of guests attending official royal events. And there you have it.
