EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN
On this episode of The Karen Kenney Show, I talk about the idea that “Everything old is new again” and why that feels especially true for me as we head into 2026.
I share where this phrase originally comes from and how it still shows up all around us, from old-fashioned baby names and vinyl records - to the way trends, styles, and even problems seem to circle back to current times but with a fresh twist.
I explore how revisiting the past with new eyes, context, and appreciation can be such a powerful source of inspiration, creativity, and healing.
I also let you in on something new-old in my own life that I’m wicked excited about… I’m returning to having my own space again in Concord, New Hampshire! YAY!
After years of focusing more on Spiritual Mentoring and Integrative Coaching, I’m boomeranging back in an even bigger way to my longtime roots in Yoga and Thai Yoga bodywork / Assisted Stretching.
I talk about how good it feels to create a warm, welcoming space again and to reconnect with the practices that have sustained me for decades - only now with deeper awareness, devotion, and purpose.
From there, I dive into rituals, lineage, and devotion, (and share a story about my Nana) and how those old ways are a part of what I’m longing for more of now: slowness, intention, safety, and human connection - in a world that’s so busy-pants fast, digital, and often disconnected.
I name what I’m craving (and what I suspect a lot of us are craving) heading into the new year: small, cozy rooms, micro-communities, calm, authentic leadership, embodiment over performance, and spaces where people know your name. (NORM! 😆)
Finally, I talk about the return to analog, hands-on, in-person experiences and the stuff that connects us in a more human way - handwritten notes, handmade gifts, vinyl records, yoga assists, personalized sessions, intimate gatherings, and storytelling spaces.
I share some of what’s coming up in 2026: more in-person yoga, Thai Yoga bodywork in my new space, cozy community offerings like The Nest, Yoga by the Fire at Pembroke Pines Country Club, Live Music and Yoga with my sweetie – Chris Lester, and a collaborative, creative “analog” style workshop with my friend Emiline – aka: Emily Aborn! I can’t wait for that sucker!
My hope is that this episode inspires you to take a peek at your own life and ask: “What old thing is asking to be made new again - with more love, intention, and appreciation?” ❤️
TOP 10 ‘HEARTBEATS’ FROM THE SHOW:
1. Everything Old, Newly Appreciated
“The old is being made new again. And it’s not just being made new again, it’s being newly appreciated again.”

“It feels so good to be returning to my roots and to these practices that sustained me, helped me heal, and that I now get to share with other people in a deeper way.”

“I don’t necessarily want to get in the big rooms anymore. I want the cozy rooms - the small, intimate spaces where you actually get to know each other’s names.”
4. The Power of Micro-Community
“The Nest is really a ‘micro-community’. We all know each other’s names and stories. People aren’t just faces on a screen – they’ve come to care about and love each other.”
5. Softer, Slower, Steadier, Sustainable
“I’m craving something totally different - softer, slower, steadier, more sustainable - instead of people rushing around, hustling, and performing all the time.”

“In this age where everything is fast and digitized, I think people are desperate for human connection and for those small, intentional gatherings of humans.”

8. Embodied, Not Performative
“I don’t want performative spirituality. I want people who have read it, practiced it, lived it, taught it and now speak it - people who embody what they’re teaching.”
9. Analog Hearts in a Digital World
“I’m talking about going a little more analog – handwritten notes, handmade things, being in person, perfectly imperfect and human. That’s where the richness is.”
10. Your Own Old Made New
“Ask yourself: What ‘old’ thing in your life is asking to be made new again - with more love, intention, appreciation, and devotion?”
