What the Hell is Going On with Investigation into Teen’s Body Found in D4vd Tesla?

Investigators just returned the remains of 15 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez to her family, but have not revealed her cause of death or publicly stated she was murdered, even though her body was found dismembered. Amy and T.J. go over the latest developments in the case, including how singer D4vd - who has not been implicated by police - has been laying low as more and more “sources” claim the singer and the teen were romantically linked.

Speaker 1: Hey. Therefore, sit is Thursday, September the twenty fifth, and the mystery deepens and the questions keep stacking up about just what was the relationship between a young girl found dead in the trunk of a car and singer David who is the owner of that car? And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ. Rosese. This story is kind of gone crazy online. There is so much flying around in so many rumors because there's so little official information.

00:00:31
Speaker 2: Actually that's correct.

00:00:32
Speaker 3: So we haven't really heard anything from police, only that they're investigating, and I think the big head scratchers a few details have been sprinkling out over the last couple of days. We still don't have police on record saying the manner of death for this young woman, Celeste Reves Hernandez. They still haven't officially said she was murdered, although they have said her body was found not intact and so her body was dismembered.

00:01:00
Speaker 1: I have that right. That is their work. They have said that, not the decomposing they've said.

00:01:05
Speaker 3: They've said decomposing and they said not intact. So it is absolutely come directly from police that her body was dismembered.

00:01:12
Speaker 2: So Obviously, we.

00:01:14
Speaker 3: All understand that no one can dismember themselves, no one can put their body in a trunk to decompose, So obviously someone has to be responsible for the state she was in, the condition she was in, and the fact that she was dead and not intact. So we all know this is a murder investigation, but it is interesting and puzzling. The police won't even go so far as to say that.

00:01:36
Speaker 1: Okay, again, is this a dot in the eyes and crossing the t's situation right now because robes they have not said it's a homicide investigation officially. They have certainly not said anyone is a person of interest or a suspect of any kind.

00:01:54
Speaker 3: They have not, and yet we do know and they have said that the tesla her body was found in was registered to David the singer David. His actual name is David Anthony Burke. He's twenty years old and rising star. He correct huge, rising star.

00:02:10
Speaker 1: Alternative, alternative, R and B, alternative pop book.

00:02:14
Speaker 3: Correct, It's yes, it's a kind of a subgenre, and it was huge. He was getting he had a multi million dollar contract, so that was huge for him. So he was on the rise on tour when all of this happened. We also know, according to multiple news outlets who were there watching, the police raided the home that he had been renting in the Hollywood Hills, reportedly for twenty thousand dollars a month. But they saw police go in and take out computers and tablets, a lot of electronic and technical equipment. And then we had reports and video that we've all seen of moving trucks at that home moving out the rest of what we believe is David's belongings. So there have been some developments. We also this is also interesting. Police have released the remains of Celeste back to her family. They did that just yesterday, So if they don't have a cause of death, if they haven't released any details about what their investigation is even specifically, it's puzzling that they would have done what they could, I guess, in terms of investigating with her remains enough so that they could return them to her family.

00:03:27
Speaker 2: Her funeral is scheduled for this weekend.

00:03:29
Speaker 1: They're done examining next week October fourth, but they are done examined. They released the body. That means they are done with that examination. So the only thing that would be left would be what toxicology, what else.

00:03:45
Speaker 3: So according to former district attorneys and prosecutors, they say, there are a couple of things that investigators are likely doing.

00:03:51
Speaker 2: They will be going.

00:03:52
Speaker 3: They said, they could actually have looked at the bone. They can actually tell if a body has been strangled, oftentimes with just your bone. They said, they could be looking at all sorts of things when it comes to that.

00:04:04
Speaker 2: But truly at this point, they say.

00:04:06
Speaker 3: With such a high profile case with a high profile artists potentially implicated, and certainly people are doing that online for sure.

00:04:14
Speaker 2: They are wanting to make sure that they have dotted, all their eyes, crossed, all their tea's.

00:04:19
Speaker 3: They want to make sure that they have the evidence before they say anything further. And a lot of it is about establishing this alleged relationship between the singer David and the victim, fifteen year old Celeste, And.

00:04:32
Speaker 1: Again online they'll tell you it is well established, but authorities officially have not mentioned what they believe the relationship, if there even was one, but they obviously have to look into it. We mentioned there's just so much. This is one of those stories when there's a lack of official information, people are filling in a lot of blanks. You've got a lot of Internet sleuths checking out his social media page, is checking out hers and places they've been when they could have been together, and spotting them. All of that. That stuff is out there that seems to paint a picture of at least these two new each other, the nature of that relationship. Who knows.

00:05:08
Speaker 3: We even have seen the fact that he has music lyrics. There was some leaked audio clip of a song that was named Celeste.

00:05:18
Speaker 2: People have leaked lyrics.

00:05:19
Speaker 3: And certainly one of his big hits is Romantic Homicides, and people have pointed to that and started to try to read between the lines with again his songwriting. So this has all been used against him in the court of public opinion. And if you go online, it's just and I'd say rumor after rumor, and a lot of sources or friends or former friends, and look, we know what this is like. So we take these all with a grain of salt, claiming that they knew of that relationship and talked about the relationship. And this girl was thirteen when she went missing. We know that for a fact. Celeste's mother said and reported her missing at the age of thirteen. I think she had been missing for about a year and a half when suddenly she found word or heard word about her.

00:06:05
Speaker 2: It's just devastating. Her daughter's body in the back of that testage.

00:06:08
Speaker 1: A kid hasn't been seen since she was thirteen by her family. You just wonder who. I just wonder what that kid's life was alike to, Like, there's a lot of ways a runaway kid at thirteen things could go bad, Like this is the absolute worst that you could imagine. And even if you tried to imagine the worst, you wouldn't come up with this necessarily in the trunk of a car. And I've seen different reports if she was found the day before or the day after her fifteenth.

00:06:36
Speaker 3: I believe it was the day after her fifteenth birthday. So if obviously the state of decomposition, it looks as though she died at the age of fourteen. I was seeing online a lot of folks referring to her as a fourteen year old.

00:06:49
Speaker 2: And then when you found out.

00:06:50
Speaker 3: When her birthday was, it's heartbreaking. Her birthday comes the next day, they find her body, her decomposed body in the.

00:06:56
Speaker 2: Back of that tesla.

00:06:57
Speaker 3: So she had it looked as though she did die when she was just fourteen years old.

00:07:03
Speaker 1: Again, she was found decomposed body in the back of that tesla. Reminder of how this all started, and a reminder that that tesla, which is registered to David Singer. David was parked not very far from the house where he was staying and according to authorities, it had been abandoned in that spot for a month, and that's why someone called to have it towed. It was towed to a yard of foul smell was detected after a couple of days, and that's when police got involved with the thought robes that. I mean, I guess in all likelihood she was in the trunk for a month and that car was sitting in that same spot.

00:07:44
Speaker 2: That is what the speculation is.

00:07:47
Speaker 3: And the other issued too because of that big time span, you know, you police have to go through this particular who else had keys to the car, who else had access to the car? Just because it's registered to David doesn't mean someone else couldn't have been driving it or been using it. So there's just so many There's a big time gap, a time lapse from when he went on tour to when that tesla was first reported, and that is a lot of the work that's going on right now, and certainly scouring through those cell phones and those computers to try and see the communications that may have occurred. All of that is being investigated right now. But it seems as though sooner rather than later, we've got to get some answers about the direction this investigation is heading. And certainly David is laying low his reps, his publicist, none of his folks are talking now anymore. His tour has been canceled, he has. And the wild thing about this is when the body was first reported and we did not know the name or the identity of the body, it took investigators a week. That's just how bad the state of this body was in before they could actually identify the remains.

00:08:54
Speaker 2: He kept on touring.

00:08:58
Speaker 3: He did not cancel concerts until the name the identity was revealed of this young woman.

00:09:05
Speaker 1: This is becoming a he's getting a little out of hand. There's a bit of a frenzy online about this story. And there are a lot of I mean, things are just running wild online about this, and just caution everybody and as you look through stuff, certainly don't believe everything you read right now. Certainly we need to always keep in mind he hasn't been accused of a crime, and even if he is, he's innocent to proven guilty. And I even hate to say that because well, I mean, no one is saying he is a I mean, what are we supposed to piece together? The facts are what they are, cars his, he owns it, dead teenager in the trunk period. Those are facts, and it's okay to probably make some assumptions or have some questions about what that means. And the first question goes to him, do you know her? How did she end up in your trunk? And that is where the investigation has to start. After police get that answer, where do you go?

00:10:08
Speaker 3: Then you go into the forensics, then you go into the evidence. Then you go and you put together a timeline, You look for electronic communications between the two and yeah, they also obviously going head to toe on that they were in the house for hours. They said, obviously they're looking for blood evidence. There are so many tools, forensic tools available to these detectives to figure out where the crime scene was, so they'll be able to decide or determine if the crime scene was in that home or not, if it was in the car. Or not, And that's what they're trying to put together.

00:10:38
Speaker 2: But they are being.

00:10:39
Speaker 1: Tight left, but they should be able to I don't know, do they have a time of death for this young lady, because that's going to be key. Where was he? Maybe he has an alibi, Maybe he wasn't in town at all. Who was the last person driving that car? Did anybody else drive that car? I mean that obviously the first question is to the owner of that car. They're probing the relationship. Didn't they ask him do you know this girl?

00:11:05
Speaker 3: One would hope they had, I mean, look at a certain point for him, maybe they took their time. Maybe they wanted him to not think they were onto him, or that they were even suspicious of him, And that might be why he continued doing his tour and thinking, oh, they don't think it's me, and then for him to abruptly stop the tour, go silent, go dark, his folks, stop talking to anyone that to me speaks volumes that. Yes, I do believe a very serious dialogue is occurring and has occurred between David and the police, even though they have not officially said that that happened, But that would be a logical deduction.

00:11:41
Speaker 1: He logical deduction. Yes, he canceled shows that we As we mentioned, he was wrapping up his US tour counts with those last couple of shows, was supposed to be on tap for doing an international tour as as well. All of that has been sidelined. But also show aren't the only things that David has been losing lately. All right, folks, we continue now talking about singer David canceling his shows, canceling his tour, and right now laying low as the investigation continues. After the body of a fifteen year old girl was found decomposing in the trunk of a car that was registered to him out in southern California, Robes, it makes sense everybody is distancing themselves from him. He had some pretty major collaborators. Was that CROs.

00:12:43
Speaker 2: It was a CROCS was and it was a Crocs collab that he was in.

00:12:49
Speaker 3: Really after there was even a mention of a body in his car, they immediately took down all of the ads, all of the photos, and replaced him with a different model. So that was that was done almost immediately.

00:13:02
Speaker 2: I think it was.

00:13:03
Speaker 3: What was the It was Crocs And I'm trying to remember Hollister and Crocs. That was the collab that they did together. And also he obviously canceled all of his tours. That is an incredibly expensive endeavor to cancel all of your shows. He had a European leg coming up, I believe as well. And you know, the Hollywood Hill's rental home that he was in, the owner has been speaking out and did tell this to some media outlets that he has external security cameras, so that there are cameras set up that get everyone coming and going, and he said he doesn't have access to them, but the police certainly do, so there very well could be some significant evidence. If anything could have been caught on camera, the homeowner says it would have been caught. So that will be of note as well, because at some point we don't know how and where her body got into that trunk, but if there were cameras nearby, or security cameras rolling in any way, shape or form, sure you can be sure that police are looking through those right now.

00:14:04
Speaker 1: Man, what happened to that girl? What happened to that girl? But again, folks, we just caution be careful. It's a lot out there. Careful what you believe and also careful what you repeat on this story. There is a family I guess robes that are that's planning a funeral that's devastated right now. I guess it's been devastated for a while, not knowing where their loved one was all this time, So I don't know what that were they in contact at all? Has she called them by phone? Had completely cut off? Had they stopped looking for.

00:14:38
Speaker 3: They said she had been reported missing three separate times. And think about it again, she was thirteen years old. She did look much older, and there are a lot of reports that she did pass herself off as much older, so that you know, but you have to, like, actually remember how old this little girl was. She was a little girl. She was thirteen, So Bean's twelve. I mean, this is almost thirteen. I mean, that is a little girl. And to think that, yes, you're to not know is a horrific fate. But to find out that her life ended the way it did is just horrific. I cannot imagine what that poor family is going through. And then to have all of the publicity surrounding it, all the questions surrounding her death on top of them as well. But yes, October fourth is when her funeral her memorial service has been scheduled now that they do have her remains back home with them.

00:15:33
Speaker 1: All right, folks, this is one we will keep an eye on as we wait for more possible official word from authorities on this one. But for now we wait, and for now on behalf of the naming robot. I'm TJ. Holmes. We'll talk to y'all soon
