Speaker 1: Morning Run with Amy and TJ and iHeartRadio Podcast. Hey there, everybody, and welcome to your morning run. Thanks for joining us. It is Wednesday, June seventeenth. I'm Amy Robach and I'm TJ Holmes. We all get going on this run this morning. Our first stop is going to be in Paris, as where we're sitting. We have made our way as some of you have been following along as we hop over across Europe to watch their teams play in the World Cup.
00:00:28
Speaker 2: We'll go back to the US and watch the US hopefully later.
00:00:31
Speaker 1: Yes, that will be fun too, But this has been really fun to experience it. The way Europeans watch soccer. It's very different in many ways. The whole street gets involved, and different competing bars have different feeds, and we had some heads up that some goals were about to be scored by France about ten seconds before they were scored.
00:00:52
Speaker 2: Yes, so just let you know. You might hear Paris in the background as we continue on this morning run on this Wednesday. But we will be making stuff in Delaware and DC and LA and Chicago and Arizona and in particular in a sixty five mile per hour zone. But we will start here robes. Yes, there was a big spectacle at the White House on Sunday with the Big UFC fight, but apparently a whole lot was going on behind the scenes.
00:01:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a frightening story. The FBI has announced that it stopped a planned attack on the Big UFC fight at the White House on Sunday. Five people have been arrested on various charges, including conspiracy to commit murder.
00:01:33
Speaker 2: And the guys that were arrested are all over the place in Ohio, California, Missouri, and Nebraska. The plan included flying explosive pack drones over the event to essentially ropes, scare the hell out of everybody, and then start shooting people, to have snipers in place, shooting at people as they fled sow. We don't have an indication of how closes they actually got to pulling this off, but there could be more to come because they think more than just these five were talking to each other.
00:01:59
Speaker 1: That is fright, all right? Next up on the run. One person is dead, another injured, and a suspect is in custody this morning after a shooting at a Delaware hospital. Yeah, this happened in a hospital and it happened in the middle of the day, around three o'clock in the afternoon at Wilmington Hospital.
00:02:17
Speaker 2: Please have not released a whole lot of details here, but say this was an isolated and targeted incident, so the person didn't go in there meaning to do damage and shoot up the hospital. But the alleged shooter is a twenty three year old man. He was later taken into custody in Philadelphia. It made his way back to Philadelphia, they say, but he is in custody, all right.
00:02:36
Speaker 1: Next up on the run. The administration keeps saying we're soon going to see the actual text, the specific details of the just negotiated and apparently already signed agreement between the United States and Iran to end the war.
00:02:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, they keep promising, But now Democrats and even some Republicans are getting a little impatient here. They're pushing for the administration to run least the details of this so called memorandum of understanding. The latest promise is that we'll get it by Friday. Friday is when the ceremonials signing of the document it's supposed to take place in Geneva. Could get it as early as today though, that's what the vice president said, so anywhere between now and Friday, Robes, we'll see it.
00:03:21
Speaker 1: All right, can't wait for that. But in the meantime, Next up on the run, This is a hell of a story. The Los Angeles Police Department shot and killed a dog that was wearing a nixt jersey, and now a lot of people are demanding answers. They were in LA. They're responding to a report of a woman screaming.
00:03:43
Speaker 2: Yeah. So they show up at this apartment complex. They're asking around, what's what, and one neighbor pointed to one particular apartment. They go over to the apartment. A woman answers the door. She has a large dog. That's how they put it roll. It's a large dog. They told her to secure the dog, so she closed the door. The dog opened the door back up to talk to the police. But then the dog, they claim, ran out Robes and this is where something happened in a split second and a dog got shot to us.
00:04:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, within seconds. The police are claiming that he charged the officer. But when you see the dog and hear the breed, it is a little perplexing. This was a two year old Saint Bernard golden retriever poodle mix. His name was Jamison, and apparently he was the sweetest dog ever and never ever was aggressive towards anyone, according to his owner. And also on top of it, I mean, just this scene, there's a video. It's been seeing millions and millions of time, but this dog was wearing a Nicks jersey. She was screaming because the nixt one. I mean, this is just a horrible story. We're gonna get into more details. We're gonna have an episode on this later.
00:04:49
Speaker 2: I need to see that bodycam video. What scared him so much? He had to shoot a Saint Bernard poodle frickin' mix.
00:04:55
Speaker 1: A Golden retriever.
00:04:55
Speaker 2: Those are like dogs.
00:04:58
Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, they're like the three sweetest breeds.
00:05:00
Speaker 2: But even so, Robe you're not trained. Any dog running at you, your immediate thought to kill it.
00:05:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's tough. So yes, a lot of questions and many many folks are demanding some answers.
00:05:11
Speaker 2: All right, we turn now next on our run to a story that will make you grin. This one's just a little funny. President Obama is opening his Presidential Library. They are in Chicago having a grant opening this week. Big ceremony. You know it's going to be big time. So it's going to happen on Thursday. Now, the Obamas are going to be there and robes. He's going to have a number of guests, performers, celebrities, you can imagine a whole bunch of folks throughout its life. Political folks are going to show up. Should be some big names.
00:05:39
Speaker 1: Ah, yes, And given it's all that's happened recently with President Trump's struggles to secure a listers for his two hundred and fiftieth celebration, his birthday bash, his high profile events, it is kind of glaring to see who is coming to President Obama's event. We can just go down the list of some of the folks who have said yes. Christina Aguilera, you.
00:06:01
Speaker 2: Know what, that's not bad. She's a I mean, that's a good get. She has a storied career, but I guess she is not necessarily still currently at the top of the charts. It's fine.
00:06:10
Speaker 1: The roots, Okay, that's pretty good, Okay, common he's from.
00:06:14
Speaker 2: Chicago, Chicago, guy, that makes sense.
00:06:15
Speaker 1: Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson, Okay, she's got.
00:06:18
Speaker 2: Some Chicago roots. That one's sone's good.
00:06:20
Speaker 1: Mark Anthony. That's a pretty big one.
00:06:22
Speaker 2: He's a Latin frickin legend. Okay, the names are getting bigger.
00:06:25
Speaker 1: John Legends at Winter Yes, oh you might have heard of Bono?
00:06:31
Speaker 2: Oh wow?
00:06:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, and then this is hilarious Bruce Springs, Oh, it gets bigger. And then CV one did you put that in order of relevance? You wrote all about.
00:06:41
Speaker 2: Just because it kept escalating, So no matter what, even Christina Aguilera, it was bigger than this. Absolutely anybody from I can't remember.
00:06:48
Speaker 1: They got the Zach Brown band. I think I feel like that's the best one I've seen so far that the President had for this weekend.
00:06:53
Speaker 2: And this is not. It's just funny given all that's happened recently, and even a Milli Vanilli canceling on.
00:07:02
Speaker 1: The President, it's about as bad as it gets in terms of humiliation and gets Millie Vanilli cancels on you, DV.
00:07:07
Speaker 2: One, This shows up no problem when you need me.
00:07:10
Speaker 1: All right? Next up on the run Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC. If I told you you could only pick two, which one are you dumping?
00:07:18
Speaker 2: You know what mine would be. I think you probably know this. I think i'd dumb Taco Bell same okay, all right, well on the same page. All right, Well, apparently that is not the feeling of the parent company of those brands. Pizza Hut is the one they're dumping. It is being sold off for two point seven billion dollars. They made this announcement yesterday and a long time pizza franchise would be sold. It's going to a private equity firm. And then a private Chinese company is going to handle all of the pizza Huts that are open over there. But yeah, it's the one part of their business that wasn't doing so well.
00:07:53
Speaker 1: Wow, you know what, it's so nostalgic. I just remember going to Pizza Hut parties after basketball games in my high school, like that taste of that pizza that crusted so singular. Hopefully they won't change much.
00:08:05
Speaker 2: We don't know though, word how many more store closures could be in the works. They did close two hundred and fifty announced it that earlier this year, but they have almost twenty thousand around the world. It's kind of impressive what they built from nineteen fifty eight when two brothers started this. I did not know and which Dalk, Kansas got a six hundred dollar loan from their mama open up a pizza shop. The reason they call it pizza hut because they had some red awning and signing that could only take eight letters.
00:08:30
Speaker 1: That's hilarious. So they had to call it pizza hut because that is an interesting combination. I never thought of that. I never knew it so interesting. Thank you for the lesson in pizza hut history. All right, Next up on the run, The Grammys will have five new categories next year. The Recording Academy made the announcement yesterday, and the new categories are meant to recognize music's continued reach, influence, and evolution. I love how they're expanding the award category.
00:08:58
Speaker 2: There wasn't a rap category at some point. You just keep this. I'm okay with this. So the new category's Best Asian Pop Music Performance. How can that not make sense? Right? Asian music Korean K pop in particular, that's a good and best Latin song, Best Traditional Pop vocal Performance, Best R and B Collaboration or duo group performance, and then Best Traditional Folk Album. Those are being at.
00:09:21
Speaker 1: It all right, And here's a fun one. Finally, finally we can officially say congratulations. To Zindeia and Tom Holland. We think people are losing it because it seems like Spider Man has finally confirmed when so many people have been trying to confirm that Holland and Zindia Zendeia are actually married.
00:09:44
Speaker 2: Okay, do you think this is it?
00:09:46
Speaker 1: Yes? You think he confirmed when I read what he said of how he confirmed it.
00:09:50
Speaker 2: Okay, he did this intentionally. This wasn't a slip. He had a moment. It sounds like he even thought for a second. But he was doing an interview with s Wire magazine and he was asked a question about all the fake stuff out there about his wedding to Zendaya. There's some pictures out there. Some of you all may have seen some AI pictures. So the interviewer asked him, have any of your family members been fooled by the AI picks and maybe gotten onto you thought they missed it. The interviewer said, he actually paused for a second and said no, because they were all there.
00:10:24
Speaker 1: They got married, they had a wedding.
00:10:27
Speaker 2: No, the family wasn't fool by aipis because they were all there.
00:10:30
Speaker 1: I do love that. I just kept it so private and even I even wondered, like, that's a clever question. By the way by the interviewer to try and not be offensive by directly asking him, that was a clever way in he opened the door and Holland chose to walk through it and look, Zindea has been wearing a wedding band along with an engagement ring. And yes we know that her stylist had slipped up, kind of laughing that everybody missed the wedding. So I think, yes, I think we can safely confirm that they are in fact married.
00:11:01
Speaker 2: Congratulations on being married and keeping everybody out of your business. All right, stay with us on this Wednesday morning run when we come back. A goal was scored at the World Cup yesterday by arguably the greatest soccer player ever. So why did he started Why did he start crying after he scored? Also big news at Wimbledon. The Venus and Serena Show is back and we thought we loved Love Island, not like a lady in Arizona who actually went to jail over it.
00:11:41
Speaker 1: Welcome back everyone as we continue our run on this Wednesday and next up on the run, let's talk World Cup. Lionel Messi had a hat trick in his opening match, and I had to ask you this morning what a hat trick was. Yes, I'm gonna fully admit that.
00:11:55
Speaker 2: Well and hockey, does it sound familiar? Hat trick? You hear?
00:11:57
Speaker 1: I mean I've heard of the of the phrase plenty. I just don't know what it refers to.
00:12:01
Speaker 2: The hat tree of hockey. When the somebody scores three girl, everybody throws their hats actually onto the These are things that just.
00:12:06
Speaker 1: Go right over my head. Okay, okay, So three goals in a just in one game? Yes, not in a row, but just in a.
00:12:11
Speaker 2: Game, just in a game, yes, not in a row. I think that's a fair question. Okay, well yes, Leo, no messi Okay. The Uh's Argentina. He is the legend and maybe the greatest to ever play. He's going to be thirty nine years old next week. They had their opening match Ropes against Algeria. He made his first goal and he breaks out in tears and everybody's wondering what is going on. We thought it was overcome with emotion. This is going to be his last World Cup, that going for back to back. But then he answered Ropes. His answer is here that he gave later and we still don't know. This is so real. Lionel Messy, the legend that he is. He is just like us. He has problems, he has he has issues. I'm guessing this is relationship. Who knows.
00:12:56
Speaker 1: Uh, yes, I mean that's likely. We'll tell you what he said. He said, my tears after the I've had some tough days. It wasn't related to football, and those feelings were because of that. I want to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, and the delegation for helping me. I think that's sweet that he admitted that that, Hey, he's having a tough time for whatever reason.
00:13:18
Speaker 2: What is going on with him? I hope he's but whatever it was, it bothered him very little as he scored three goals.
00:13:24
Speaker 1: He moved on really quickly after that first goal.
00:13:27
Speaker 2: And he is now on the cusp of being the He will break the record, but he's now taliged the record for the most goals ever in World Cup history. This dude's amazing.
00:13:35
Speaker 1: That should go a long way to help you some of that pain. At least I hope it will all right. Next up on the run, Serena is coming back to Wimbledon and her sister will be with her. Wimbledon announced yesterday. We thought this might happen, that the Williams sisters will play doubles in this year's tournament, which starts June twenty ninth. That is so freaking cool.
00:13:54
Speaker 2: This is so awesome. This is still gonna be the first time Serena's played there in four years at Wimbledon. She has had to come back at the Queen's Club. That was earlier this month. They actually op it's an update. They dropped out because of an injury. Her playing partner, the.
00:14:09
Speaker 1: Nineteen year old got injury. Isn't that ironic?
00:14:12
Speaker 2: Forty four year old's going strong.
00:14:13
Speaker 1: She's stretching with TOI after and in between. Yeah, she knows she's not some spring chicken. So yeah, maybe you'd take better care of yourself who don't risk injury as much.
00:14:21
Speaker 2: But that's but she's also playing in Berlin in doubles right now as well, getting so she's getting tuned up.
00:14:27
Speaker 1: Very very cool. All right, for the final leg of our run. This is my favorite story of the day for sure all time. Maybe an Arizona woman was arrested for speeding last week. She was going one hundred and eight miles per hour in a sixty five mile per hour zone. Why you ask, why did she tell the officer that she was speeding and breaking the law, almost doubling the speed limit.
00:14:54
Speaker 2: She had to get home to see Love Island. That's the answer she gave. This is what the Offish Pineal County Sheriff Department. This is what they reported. Quote at trooper caught a vehicle traveling at one hundred and eight miles prow and a post it sixty five mile prow zone on Arizona Highway three forty seven. The driver stated she was trying to get home fast to be able to watch the reality TV show Love Island. The driver was arrested and booked for criminal speed and reckless driving, and the vehicle went to car jail for twenty days.
00:15:24
Speaker 1: WHOA so she actually got hauled in to jail. I have questions, Dang, does she know it's stream.
00:15:33
Speaker 2: Thank you baby? Does she not? She just didn't want to be behind the rest of the world.
00:15:37
Speaker 1: Maybe she had like a texting group chain with your friends and she wanted to be watching it in real time. A party, well, she missed the party. One hundred and eight in a sixty five. I'm still surprised she got hold off to jail for that. Like, I can understand a massive ticket, but they impounded her car.
00:15:54
Speaker 2: That it gets that gets to the point of day reckless. You're driving, that's not just speeding. What what are the reasons people give to get out of his being ticket?
00:16:02
Speaker 1: Well, I would think maybe that someone's ill, you're trying to get to the hospital, someone's about to give birth, that would be about it. Yeah, it would need to be a medical emergency where someone is dying before you get there.
00:16:16
Speaker 2: Any credit for being honest.
00:16:20
Speaker 1: A little bit, yes, a little bit. I mean she I don't know did she actually think that was gonna help her case because it probably hurt it.
00:16:28
Speaker 2: Maybe maybe the guy was a fan of the show.
00:16:32
Speaker 1: Maybe, you know what, there was always the chance, but he was a guy, so probably not.
00:16:36
Speaker 2: You know, he probably pissed that Sean got kicked off the show cop and he's like.
00:16:40
Speaker 1: Never watching that damn show again. All right. Quote of the day here on this Wednesday, for you, wherever you are, the way to become happier is always this love more. I love you too. Know when you're feeling sad, upset, whatever, just you you and I have both said this. If you can go to help someone, love someone, just focus on someone else. It really does help, just take away some of that tension, some of that ugliness that might be inside of you.
00:17:10
Speaker 2: Always focus on somebody else, focus on doing something with somebody else. It'll always it always works, it never fails.
00:17:17
Speaker 1: It's so true. Wherever you are, the way to become happier is always this, love more and with that. Everyone. We love that you were listening to us today. Thank you so much as always for running with us. I'm Amy. I don't know, I just would buy Amy like I'm suddenly Zendaya, I'm Amie Bravok and
00:17:37
Speaker 2: I'm t run with the el Zoon
